Main Characters

     Hardt
The Protagonist
  • Anti-Villain: His final goal is to kill the corrupt, petty, vain, and vindictive false-goddess Fistoria, and his actions do indeed make the world a better place as a bonus. Unfortunately, among his actions are trampling innocents, engineering a coup of a peaceful country, to install himself as a Shadow Dictator, desecrating the dead, and a bunch of other nastiness.
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: He was an honest, innocent boy who only wanted to be of use to his single mother. After days of torture, for fun, from the "Holy Knights", and having his entire home village repeatedly stab him, but not allowed to die, and the death of his mother made him completely misanthropic, not trusting anyone except those who are enslaved by magic to himself, living or undead.
  • Bewildering Punishment: For no explained reason, the moment his [Occupation] is revealed as [Dark Sorcerer], the priest involved explodes with rage, he's arrested, tortured for fun by the knights of Fisland Holy Kingdom, his home village is forced at sword-point to stab him with a dagger, once per citizen, and his mother is killed. It's only after he's rescued by the skeletal remains of his predecessor, Darx, that he learns why.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: He loves to engage in sexy-fun times with Mylene, and tease princess Fia to the point she blushes red as a tomato, but every sexual encounter comes as a result of fully-informed consent. He is no rapist.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: The tortures he received as a result of a certain priest's temper tantrum make the pains he suffers for using the cursed artifacts that boost his powers seem like a gentle tickle in comparison.
  • Dark Is Evil: He's a necromancer and uses his magic powers on entire towns that have done nothing to him, constantly looking to expand his martial prowess by almost any means he can.
  • Driven to Villainy: Thanks to the horrible injustice he received from Goddess Fistora and her lackeys, he's got no choice but to be a heinous villain if he wants to live.
  • Ear Ache: He could not hear Stella's pleas nor his mother's last words since some nameless villagers had chopped off his ears by then.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: As broken as he is, and he admits it, there are some lines he won't cross.
    • Though it's purely Pragmatic Villainy, he won't harm non-combatants if he can help it. If a non-combatant comes at him, regardless of age, said person is fair game.
    • He genuinely treasures his slaves and subordinates and treats them with tender, loving care.
    • Though he is a pervert, and he can command the attractive women under his thrall to service him sexually, he finds it more fun if they come to him of their own volition.
    • He won't cuckold his followers.
  • Eye Scream: Lig, his Childhood Friend, stabs him in the eye as a result of the nameless priest at the start of the story. Hardt's remaining eye glares at him with unbridled hatred in response.
  • Fingore: His torturers at the start didn't stop with ripping off his fingernails, they went to chopping off his fingers.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: Yes, his actions are wholly criminal, and he admits it, but his enemies are so vile and Stupid Evil that he comes across as downright benevolent by comparison.
  • Madden Into Misanthropy: The priest's cruel regiment of torture, forcing his home village to harm him with a dagger, and death of his mother made him completely unable to trust anyone who isn't enslaved to him.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Very, very pragmatic. He may destabilize and conquer nations that haven't wronged him, but he leaves the non-combatants alone as much as possible, as he doesn't want to cripple the economy or supply chains. He listens to the counsel of his enslaved subordinates because they are the experts, and can't betray him. He also treats them kindly so they will have little reason to want to.
  • Properly Paranoid: He knows his actions are criminal and evil, so those affected are bound to betray him sooner or later. As such, he does not trust them unless they've been enslaved to himself, at which point, he treats them very, very kindly.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: The reason he was called "a demon" and put through hell is because Darx, the first [Dark Sorcerer], went to war with the Holy Kingdom 2000 years ago, and it was a Crime of Self-Defense too!
  • Troubled Backstory Flashback: He is shown having a nightmare, remembering his childhood showcasing the Double Standard he faced growing up where he and the other kids were forced to help prepare for the annual festival, but after he was done, was not allowed to participate, as well as how he'd be beaten for the tiniest mistake, unless both Stella and Lig covered for him, while all the other kids were Easily Forgiven, only to be denied the ability to participate in the celebration, even being denied the yearly gift. He wakes up to find himself held tightly in Mylene's chest, with her stating that she's been using magic to soothe his nightmares, with the side-effect of seeing his dreams. At this point, she calmly and angrily reveals that the treatment he received was criminal and not only was he entitled to participate in the festivities, but his gifts, covered by tax-exemption, were being stolen by the chief's family.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: He steals the souls of his victims to power his necklace that boosts his magical powers.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: In universe. The horrible injustices he's suffered have made him swear vengeance on the world, and he fully intends to carry it out.

     Liscia
A former Paladin for Fisland Holy Kingdom. She was murdered because her male subordinates couldn't stomach being outshone by a woman.
  • Big Eater: The only thing she relishes more than battles to the death with strong foes is eating and she really can put the food away, and somehow has no problem digesting it despite being an undead.
  • Blood Knight: There is precious little that she loves more than facing powerful foes in battles to the death. She's so strong that there's rarely anyone who can entertain her to the end.
  • The Ditz: She balks at being ordered to switch to black armor because of the sentimental value of her Holy Kingdom armor until Hardt reminds her that her armor is a symbol of the kingdom she wants revenge against.
  • Lady and Knight: Gender inverted. She is the black knight to Hardt's dark lord.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Because she was abused and murdered by the Holy Kingdom knight order, she's all too happy to join Hardt on his quest for vengeance against them.

     Chrono
A commoner alchemist whose efforts and accomplishments were stolen by his employer and then killed to cover up the crime, again at the orders of the Holy Kingdom.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Strangely enough. He's a wraith, feeds on despair, and can drain the life of his enemies by touch, but when given a choice, protects the innocent and smites the guilty
  • Big Brother Instinct: He is very protective of little girls that remind him of his dead little sister.
  • Dem Bones: He normally sports a skeletal frame, but can disguise himself as a human if need be.
  • Emotion Eater: His undead form feeds on despair.
  • Intangibility: As a wraith, he can become immaterial at will.
  • Life Drain: As a wraith, his most dangerous ability is being able to drain the life out of his intended targets and converting it into makeshift mana-crystals.
  • The Lost Lenore: His little sister was killed off before he died. He regrets being unable to save her.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Completely loyal to Hardt, especially because of the latter's criminality.
  • Not Afraid to Die: As he's facing the army of Gerbald Empire, rescuing Shertia and princess Elise, he was willing to throw his life away dealing with the 10,000 strong army if that would allow the two ladies to escape. Fortunately, Hardt and some real heavy hitters show up to even the field.
  • Stealing the Credit: A victim of it.

     Nero
A lich tasked by Hardt to take over a port city as he was taking over the Mestoa Kingdom.
  • Dark Is Evil: He's a lich, specializes in necromancy, and he's a sadistic sot who enjoyed driving people to despair.
  • Elite Mook: Just to drive Mylene and her party into despair, he reveals he's not the true boss of the organization they are struggling against, and is in fact rather low on the totem pole.
  • Emotion Eater: Feeds on despair.
  • Our Liches Are Different: He doesn't have a phylactery or a large list of spells. He's just a necromancer, and not a particularly powerful one at that compared to Hardt.

     Mylene
An adventurer Hardt captured and turned to his side. She becomes his lover, in every sense of the term.
  • Bathtub Bonding: She loves to bathe with Hardt.
  • The Farmer and the Viper: She's the viper. She rewards her former party coming to her rescue with a cruel Breaking Speech and graphic deaths, having already sold herself into Hardt's service in exchange for her life.
  • Healing Hands: She was the party healer in her party before her group ran afoul of Hardt during a legitimate adventurer's quest to investigate sightings of various types of undead.
  • Light 'em Up: Is a master of light-based magic.
  • Loveable Sex Maniac: She approaches Hardt for sex, rarely the other way around, and she's all but insatiable.
  • A Match Made in Stockholm: She and Hardt love each other because he took her captive, enslaved her, and she became sympathetic to him when she saw his memories.
  • Morality Pet: She's one of the few people Hardt treats with genuine kindness.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Hardt's word is law, with rare exception.
  • Property of Love: She insists on wearing a Slave Brand so Hardt can trust and love her.
  • Sickening Sweethearts: She does genuinely love Hardt, and they always dote on each other.
  • Stern Teacher: Hardt encourages her to be strict in teaching him what he needs to know about the world.
  • Stockholm Syndrome: Invoked. Hardt, off-screen, put his memories in her head via magic. Made to experience what he went through, she becomes sympathetic and completely loyal to him.

     Mars
One of many orphans turned over to Hardt to slake his wrath. Hardt immediately takes interest in his [Dark Knight] occupation, and happily takes him under his wing when he hears about Theria's peculiar [Occupation] too.
  • Butt-Monkey: Once he starts serving under Hardt, he's the butt of a lot of Black Comedy.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Training under Lascia is so harsh, he sees the battlefield as less scary.
  • Devoted to You: He's completely devoted to Theria.
  • Incompletely Trained: His [Occupation] is powerful, but being an orphan from the slums, lacks proper training to use it effectively.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: He won't forgive Darl for selling out the orphans, but still sees him as family, so asks Hardt to give him a proper burial. Hardt agrees.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Of Sofa and his lackeys, Darl is the only one he's determined to kill, for selling out the orphans.
  • Training from Hell: Hardt has him trained by Liscia, someone who can smash through castle walls with her sword slashes and has trouble holding back.

     Thiera
A wheel-chair bound girl that's in love with Mars.

     Lotus
A Fenrir summoned by Fistoria to attack the Demihuman nation which then gets killed and turned into an undead by Hardt.
  • Bond Creature: After becoming an undead, it's bound to Hardt.
  • Canis Major: It's a wolf the size of an elephant, at its smallest.
  • The Juggernaut: Fast, strong, and very hard to wound. Hardt had to use everything in his arsenal to take it down, and fainted the moment it was subdued.
  • Life Drain: The most annoying aspect of the battle with it was the fact that it kept stealing life from the Divine tree Yggdrasil which the Demihuman kingdom relies on.
  • Shock and Awe: Controls powerful lightning.
  • Smug Super: It is so powerful, it didn't take Hardt's challenge seriously, until it was too late.

Anders Kingdom

     Regul
The village chief's son.
  • The Bully: He always saw himself as superior to Hardt and loved to beat up on him every chance he got.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: He's last seen being "rescued" by Arnold, but is promptly forgotten.
  • Entitled Bastard: He would always confiscate Hardt's gift and claim that Hardt wasn't of the right bloodline to participate. It's only when Mylene reads these memories and spells it out that Hardt learns different.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: His [Heavy Knight] [Occupation] makes him a natural shield-beared.
  • Magically Inept Fighter: He can't use any magical abilities, at all.

     Lig
Hardt's former friend.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: He gets murderous the moment he believes another guy catches Stella's eye, even if it's entirely in his mind.
  • Entitled to Have You: To Stella.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Of the many, many villagers who stabbed at Hardt, his dagger was among the top of the most painful and grudge-inducing.
  • Forced into Evil: Like the rest of the village, he was forced at sword-point to stab Hardt or he'd be declared an accomplice and killed too.
  • Light Is Not Good: His [Occupation] is [Paladin], and he doesn't even regret stabbing Hardt in the eye, being forced to do so at sword-point not withstanding.
  • The Paladin: His god-granted [Occupation].

     Stella
Hardt's former friend and primary love interest before she became [Holy Maiden] and he became [Dark Sorcerer].
  • Despair Event Horizon: As a direct result of being forced to stab Hardt in the heart, she entered a depression where she refused to leave her bedroom and refused food. She was then force-fed by the priest involved to keep her from dying.
  • The Farmer and the Viper: How do her parents reward her for stabbing her lover in the heart to save their lives from a fanatical priest and the equally fanatical knights? They sell her off to the Holy kingdom in return for a hefty monthly allowance, happily throwing a celebration! She's rightly disgusted by such behavior.
  • Hostage Situation: She's forced to stab Hardt in order to protect the lives of her parents.
  • Light 'em Up: As a direct result of her [Occupation], she fires bullets of lights.
  • Living MacGuffin: Though she's not yet aware of it, her status as [Holy Maiden] is really just to serve as a Human Resources for Goddess Fistoria.

Fisland Holy Kingdom

     The priest and knights
The priest who "discovered" Hardt by using [Oracle] to read his [Occupation].
  • Blinded by Rage: The moment he learned Hardt is a [Dark Sorcerer], he exploded with rage, had the poor boy arrested and put through hell, just for kicks.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: What he put Hardt through, just to feed his self-righteous ego.
  • Create Your Own Villain: His "temper tantrum" is the reason Hardt is on the path of vengeance, and Hardt's home village is cursed to keep summoning undead until every last citizen is killed and turned into undead too.
  • Cruel Mercy: He kept healing up Hardt, just to keep him alive so the torture could continue.
  • It's All About Me: In the aftermath of the carnage that was Hardt's home village, the only reason he's upset that Hardt got rescued by Darx and Stella is in a depression where she refuses to eat is that he'll be punished for his screw-up.
  • Light Is Not Good: As a priest, he uses light-based magic and is a total asshat who beats up on a helpless teenage boy, trying to drive him to despair, just for kicks, and has the gall to be enraged when that goes poorly.
  • No Name Given: His name is never mentioned.
  • Stupid Evil: He states he had some kind of "plan", and he's enraged that "the trashes don't act like he expected" but the way he dealt with Hardt and Stella, the [Dark Sorcerer] and [Holy Maiden] respectively, was the absolute worst way to handle things. Had he simply followed his standing orders to deliver them, alive, to Holy Kingdom, rather than engage in a petty power-trip by murdering Hardt's mother and forcing his native village, including Stella, to attack him, chances are much, much better that there's nothing Hardt could have done to escape, and Darx would not have been able to rescue him. What's worse is that Stella now has good reason to view the goddess, or at least her followers, with suspicion.

     Arnold
A [Paladin] who shows up at Hardt's home village, dropping in out of the sky, when the situation is at its most desperate to "rescue" the villagers, especially Lig and Stella.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He arrives and promises to rescue the villagers of what was Hardt's home village, but his primary task is buying Stella from her parents.
  • Let No Crisis Go to Waste: He waits until the village is at its most cornered to literally drop in and "rescue" them.
  • Light Is Not Good: He's a paladin and fights with light-based powers, but his morality is ambiguous, at best.
  • Mentor Archetype: He trains Lig in how to be a [Paladin].

     Mehdia
The servant assigned to Stella.
  • Meido: She's a palace maid assigned to Stella.
  • Satellite Character: She only exists as a character in relation to Stella. She has no on-screen characterization of her own.

Demon Country Estekia

Mestoa Kingdom

     Princess Fia
The second born and princess of the kingdom.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: Justified. When her father and top ministers sold out the Mestoa kingdom to the Holy Kingdom, which she knows is even more despicable than Hardt, just so they could remain in charge, she turned on them, killing them all.
  • Bedmate Reveal: She's been shocked to find Hardt lying beside her on several occasions, not because he was trying to get into her pants, but because he was genuinely comforting her when her nightmares had her tossing and turning in her sleep.
  • The Chains of Commanding: She takes the fate of her citizens seriously, even more than her father and elder brother. She agreed to be enslaved by Hardt to spare her people.
  • Fiery Redhead: Sports red hair and wields powerful fire-based magic.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Sliced in half at the abdomen by Liscia. Fortunately, Mylene was able to heal her up again before she died.
  • Klingon Promotion: She ascended to the throne by killing her father, the king, and all his ministers for selling out the kingdom to the Holy Kingdom.
  • Made a Slave: She was enslaved and made a hostage by Hardt to protect her kingdom's citizens.
  • Reluctant Ruler: She never wanted to be Queen. She would have been happy to be the captain of the knight order, which she was before Hardt took over. She was forced into the role when her father tried to sell out the kingdom and she had to kill him.
  • Stockholm Syndrome: After being Hardt's slave for weeks if not months, with him constantly doting on her, she begins to soften and sympathize with him. The fact that he respects her borders and lets her make her own choices helps.
  • The Worf Effect: Showcased as a powerful Magic Knight but she barely managed to survive Liscia getting serious. If not for Mylene healing her with magic, she would have died.

     Darl
One of a group of orphans that King Mestoa rounds up to try and offer up to Hardt as Human Sacrifice to slake the latter's wrath after the crown prince drew a sword on him. Darl wound up hated by his fellow orphans for selling them out to the corrupt noble Sofa.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Mars and he others are horrified to see him leading Sofa's goons to their run-down home and seizing a wheel-chair bound Theria to use as a Sex Slave.
  • Forced into Evil: Sofa and his lackeys claim he sold out his fellow orphans for a better life. In truth, Sofa and his fellow corrupt nobles were acting under the king's orders to turn the orphans over to the crown, and told Darl to get the other orphans to cooperate, or they would all be killed, and even this was a lie.
  • Forced to Watch: Sofa ordered him to watch and stand guard as he was preparing to rape Theria. Unfortunately for Sofa, along comes Mars, with Hardt's party just behind, who give him a cruel Karmic Death by being Eaten Alive via Zombie Apocalypse.

     Sofa
A fat and corrupt noble, rank not stated, who pushed his way past Mars, Darl, and the other orphans to speak with the priest running their [Occupation] screening, and then tries to take Theria to be his Sex Slave.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Used the fact that he was a noble to engage in all sorts of nastiness and avoid punishment.
  • Attempted Rape: He's on-screen atop a Theria in his bed, helpless to fight him off because her hands are bound, her magic sealed, and her legs don't work, and that's when Mars bursts in, Hardt and crew shortly behind.
  • Eaten Alive: Hardt paralyzes him, temporarily numbs his sense of pain and then has zombies chow down on him, instructed to avoid his vital organs so he suffers as long as possible.
  • Fat Bastard: He's fat and not only ran a gang of thugs, but is on-screen seen attempting to rape Theria.
  • Karmic Death: He was fond of eating to excess and seeing other people as toys. He gets Eaten Alive.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: It was his idea to choose Mars's "family" to send off to the crown, using the chaos to steal away Theria for himself. Doing this made Hardt aware of the situation, not only giving Hardt some unexpected and greatly welcome war-potential, but rescued Theria from the clutches of goddess Fistoria, which would have been infinitely worse.
  • Stupid Evil: When the crown commands handing over an entire "family" for unknown reasons, stealing one of them away for yourself is an inherently risky and idiotic plan. What's worse is that this set a bad precedent for the rest of his corrupt noble faction, who stole the other females and young children from the group, both for their own pleasure and to sell into slavery. The fact that only male teens were presented to Hardt immediately tipped him off that something fishy was going on, so he was quick to side with Mars and scupper the whole thing.

Glenberg Empire

     Shertia
A 9-year-old girl encountered by Chrono as he was spying on the Imperial capital. At first, he mistook her for a random orphan, but she's actually the escapee of one of the four noble houses that are the imperial pillars.
  • Adorably Precocious Child: She tries to act more grown-up and braver than she actually is. Chrono admires it and tries to play along when the situation is not too dire.
  • Child Prodigy: At 9, she's already better at manipulating the family's ancestral artifact than her elder brother who's been struggling for decades, and he hates her for it.
  • Deceased Parents Are the Best: Her parents died protecting her from her evil elder brother, Shelcieg.
  • Deconstructed Trope: Just because she's got exceptional affinity for the ancestral artifact does not guarantee she'd be a good ruler, so she was being trained in the mundane work of being a landlord, noble, and so on. Her training was left unfinished when Shelcieg turned on and sold out the family for his own greed and glory.
  • Fallen Princess: Went from the heir of a powerful duke house to a helpless orphan and beggar. If not for Chrono conveniently being in the area, she'd be dead.
  • Incompletely Trained: She did not get to finish her training in being a water mage and landlord because her elder brother brought an army to betray the household, killing her parents and nearly killed her.
  • Making a Splash: Like the rest of her family, she specializes in water magic.
  • Mystical White Hair: Silver hair and master of the Leviathan artifact.
  • You Remind Me of X: She reminds Chrono of his dead younger sister even though the two don't look anything alike.

     Shelcieg
Sheria's older brother, who is trying to kill her.
  • Ambition Is Evil: Had his entire family murdered, and his hunting down his own sister Shertia to steal the noble title for himself and to get as high a peerage as he can.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: Rounded up an army from his family's political rivals and killed his parents because he got butt-hurt that Shertia had far more affinity for the family's ancestral artifact housing a powerful magic beast than he did and they rightly gave the inheritance to her.
  • Cain and Abel: Clearly the Cain to Shertia's Abel.
  • Did Not Think This Through: Yes, his little coup was a roaring success and now he's firmly in with the crown prince, the only thing keeping him from being secure is a near-helpless 9-year-old girl who has spirited herself and the family artifact away. There's one glaring flaw with his ascension though. The reason the 9-year-old has the artifact is that he can't wield it. He's already seen that the artifacts are actively being used in the empire's war on its neighbors as a trump card. What's going to happen when he gets called on to use it in battle and he can't?
  • Stupid Evil: He turned on his family and wiped them out to seize the inheritance and title for himself, as he believes is due him by birthright, but he's going to need to pay for the crown's ear by being thrust into battle when the situation's most dire, and he can't use his family's trump card!

     Suzaku
The first of the four pillar families introduced.
  • The Fighting Narcissist: Loves to flaunt how he's the most beautiful and powerful fighter he knows. He takes his loss to Hardt with rage.
  • Large Ham: He spends over half of his battle performance boasting and bragging about himself with wild gesticulation and much chewing of the scenery.
  • Light Is Not Good: In addition to fire, his ancestral beast can shower the battlefield with feathers of light, but he is a despicable individual.
  • Playing with Fire: He holds the phoenix ancestral beast and predominantly attacks with fire-based magic.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When he realized he was losing the fight with Hardt, he turned tail and ran as fast as he could go. The only reason he got away is because Hardt had to go back and deal with the rest of the army Suzaku brought with him.

     Princess Elise
The second of three heirs to the crown in the empire.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Contrary to Hardt, while she is also a practitioner of dark magic, she's actually good and noble.
  • Foil: To Hardt. While he has faced nothing but sheer horror from the moment his [Occupation] was revealed, and had a crappy childhood before that, only recently becoming a real powerhouse and running a country, she is a princess and one of the three equally balanced heirs, only recently suffering difficulty as her position was destabilized thanks to collaborators to Holy Kingdom in her own country.
  • Freaky Is Cool: She is fascinated with Chrono, who is a wraith, and very much wants to meet his master, the one who summoned him back from the dead, with stars in her eyes, because she's a rabid fan of dark magic.
  • Good Is Not Soft: She may be a good and noble person, but she's unforgiving towards vile behavior and doesn't take crap from anyone if she can help it.
  • Made Out to Be a Jerkass: She's hunted by the forces of her older brother and called a traitor because they broke into her room in the first place with Shelcieg leading the charge.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: She's fascinated with necromancy and all aspects of dark magic, even curses.

Demihuman Country

Gods

     Fistoria
The goddess in charge of the world.
  • Ambition Is Evil: All her villainy was spurred by wanting to be the top god.
  • Animal Eye Spy: She can see the world through the eyes of her most powerful subordinates, the 12 Devas.
  • Arch-Enemy: She is the ultimate target for Hardt's rage.
  • Big Bad: All the evil and villainy in the series comes from her, directly or indirectly.
  • Evil Gloating: She takes over [Cancer]'s corpse to taunt Hardt that she's way more powerful than he is and now knows where he lives when her minions attack Mestoa's royal castle.
  • Godhood Seeker: She used to be an angel under Naggim but wanted his power and authority, so killed him and took it. She's not pleased that he scattered his power before he died, giving her a smaller divine domain than she wanted.
  • Honey Trap: According to Darx, she lured the god Naggim into her bed so she could kill him.
  • Light Is Not Good: She is the source of most of the light magic in the series, and she's so evil, she makes Hardt's most vile actions look downright saintly by comparison.
  • People Puppets: She can take control of the bodies of her top minions at any point, even showcasing it by seizing control of [Cancer] to have a nice "chat" with Hardt.

     Naggim
The god Fistoria usurped and murdered.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: The [Dark Sorcerer] class is a direct manifestation of his power, and he's not listed as an "evil" god.
  • Fatal Flaw: Lust. Because he lusted after his female angels, Fistoria was able to lure him to her bed and kill him, despite the fact that he was much, much stronger than her. In fact, Fistoria is as strong compared to an angel as an angel is compared to an ant, and most of Naggim's power is scattered across the world.
  • God's Hands Are Tied: Because he's scattered the parts of his power that Fistoria didn't manage to assimilate, he can't intervene in the world directly, and if he tries to round up those powers now, he's doomed to fail because it will just tip off Fistoria.
  • He's Just Hiding: In universe. The world at large, especially Fistoria, thinks he's dead, but he's still summoning "Heroes" from other worlds to try and take down Fistoria, by joining forces with those who wield the scattered remnants of his power, especially the [Dark Sorcerer].

Others

     Darx
The first [Dark Sorcerer].
  • Dark Is Evil: Played with. He did attack the Holy Kingdom with a massive undead army, but the kingdom were the aggressors and had kidnapped his lover, put her as the [Holy Maiden] through hell, and had one-sidedly dubbed him a "demon", leaving him no other choice.
  • It's All My Fault: He blames himself and his actions 2000 years ago for Hardt's suffering at the start of the story. Hardt does indeed bear a grudge but believes that killing a guy who has no problem dying is not any kind of meaningful punishment and decides being mentored in how to use [Dark Sorcery] effectively is of more value to him.
  • Living Relic: He's undead, of course, but he's a "living" witness to what the Holy Kingdom was like at its founding 2000 years ago.
  • Mr. Exposition: Through both memories and verbal testimony, he brings Hardt up to speed on why the profession [Dark Sorcerer] is so hated.
  • My Greatest Failure: Deeply regrets his loss to the Holy Kingdom and failing to kill off Fistoria, but he did manage to give the evil self-proclaimed goddess a major wound that even 2000 years later has still failed to recover from, which is why Hardt even has a chance in the present.
  • Please Kill Me if It Satisfies You: He repeatedly offers his life to Hardt as an atonement for what he went through. Hardt doesn't believe killing Darx is of any value to him or would do anything to satisfy his grudge.
  • Roaring Rampage of Rescue: His multi-million undead army was rounded up to try and rescue his sweetheart, the [Holy Maiden], but his attack preparation was half-hearted, for lack of time before the poor girl would have been killed by Possession Burnout. This ultimately made him lose the fight and get the term [Dark Sorcerer] universally reviled.

     Natalia
Originally introduced as a maid serving under Darx.

     Noel
A boy who has inherited the [Hero] [Occupation].
  • Casual Kink: He's very masochistic and looks forward to finding a guy who "lovingly" humiliates him.
  • Gender Bender: If his internal narration can be believed, he was a girl in another world and was reincarnated as a guy in the world of the story.
