Character sheet for Tamers 12345's Sonic Underground web series.

Sonic Underground & Associates

Essentially the main characters of the series, they are usually seen in just about every major episode.

    As a whole

  • Computer Voice: The majority of characters in the series are voiced via a text-to-speech program, with the few who aren't usually being voiced by Tamers himself.
  • Gasshole: Pretty much every character in the series will fart, even to the point of defecation, at some point in the series. There are some who do it more than others, but you can find at least one example for pretty much every character, and as they appear in mostly every episode the main group are the biggest offenders.

    Bartleby Montclair of Dresdin

  • The Ace: Is basically one of the strongest characters in the series, the only one more powerful than him being Tamers himself. Him and Sonic having sex is literally powerful enough to stop the sun from falling.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Alongside his lover Sonic, was straight in the original series though in the Tamersverse is depicted as in a committed homosexual relationship.
  • Fartillery: Once farted in a little girl's face until she was left in a vegetative state. After brutally murdering her father right in front of her.
  • Heroic Build: He is often drawn much taller and more muscular than any other character. This can often be exaggerated to the point of being a hulking giant.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: Is revealed to have been ostracized by most of his peers as a kid, due to them harboring jealousy of him for being the richest person in the world.
  • Mr. Fanservice: His muscular and tall physique is often emphasized, with him sometimes wearing more Stripperiffic outfits to show his muscles. And unlike most characters, his armpit hair is often drawn visibly and prominent for Fanservice purposes. Often Lampshaded with him being called the sexiest man alive in the series.
  • Your Size May Vary: More than almost every other character: His size can fluctuate between each shot. He can merely be slightly taller than the other characters and with a somewhat slim yet muscular physique. Or he can be a ridiculously muscular and tall giant that makes even The Incredible Hulk look tiny by comparison.

    Sonic the Hedgehog

  • Adaptational Sexuality: He was straight in the main series, as well as single, yet in the Tamersverse is firmly in love with Bartleby with the two being in a committed homosexual relationship.
  • Big Eater: More pronounced than in the main series, it is brought up many times in Tamers' animations that Sonic is fat and eats a lot.
  • Nice Guy: At least, by the standards of this series. He's comparably nicer to others on average than the rest of the cast tend to be. Examples include any scene showing him and Bartleby as kids, as well as more recently where he forgave Trevor for trying to kidnap him.
  • Abusive Offspring: He and his sibs are frequently seen threatening and physically abusing their mother. The flashback in 'Sonic Underground: Sonic The Hedgehog Saves Christmas' is a prime example of this. Despite this, he and his sibs frequently seem terrified of the idea of their mother beating them or getting mad at them.

    Manic the Hedgehog

  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Averted/Inverted. Seen perfectly in Sonic the Hedgehog goes Hiking, Manic is physically abusive to his girlfriend Mindy, hitting her face and behind for complaining while her father looks on and doesn't seem to mind (in fact, it's likely that he would even approve).
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Is jealous of Sonic & Bartleby's relationship because due to it, Sonic spends less time with him. He confronts Bartleby on this in Sonic the Hedgehog & his ☀️Hot Boyfriend☀️ works at a Bakery🎃.
  • My Girl Is a Slut: And he seems to not mind that fact one bit.
  • Abusive Offspring: See Sonic the Hedgehog's entry on this.

    Sonia the Hedgehog

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In the original series, her and Bartleby were engaged to one another at one point (though she called it off). In the Tamersverse, any mention of any such relationship has yet to occur as Bartleby is firmly interested only in Sonic instead.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: At least seemingly, she seems to be oblivious to Knuckles' soft crush on her if she doesn't return his feelings.
  • Abusive Offspring: See Sonic the Hedgehog's entry on this.

     Queen Aleena

  • Parental Favoritism: It's not much of a secret that she favors Sonia over her sons, even though she does deny this to be true.
  • Heteronormative Crusader: She doesn't approve of Bartleby and Sonic's relationship, forbidding him as a baby from being around Sonic as she believes it will make him gay and trying to physically stop Bartleby's Yaoi Paddle assault in 'Sonic Underground: Sonic The Hedgehog Saves Christmas' calling it the "Homosexual Lifestyle".
  • Slut-Shaming: She loathes Mindy calling her a slut and dislikes her being around her children.

     Charles "Chuck" Hedgehog

  • Ascended Extra: Only appeared in one episode of the original series, yet is one of the mainstays here.
  • Token Minority: The computer voice used for him has a very prominent hispanic accent.
  • Cool Uncle: Despite his flaws, the kids love him. In 'Sonic Goes To Uncle Chuck's For 4th Of July' Uncle Chuck hires Drake and Josh to perform for his nephews and niece despite his poverty and the kindness is returned in 'Sonic the Hedgehog And The EVIL Dr. Robotnik Battle For The Playstation 5' when it's revealed that throughout the entire ordeal, the kids were trying to win the Playstation 5 for Uncle Chuck.

     Knuckles the (cool) Echidna

  • Voiced Differently in the Dub: Starting in 'Sonic Underground The Movie - Sonic Goes To Summer Camp', the computer voice used for Knuckles was changed from it's usual deep one for a much higher pitched one. The fanbase responded with very mixed, leaning on negative, reception. The original voice was restored in later videos.
  • The Lancer: It's arguable, but seems to be this for the main group as he has a mostly friendly rivalry with Sonic yet is still considered part of the main group.

     Mindy La Tour

  • Ascended Extra: Though one of the more remembered examples, like most Sonic Underground characters she only appeared in one episode. In this series however, she is arguably a tertiary main character.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She often wears Stripperiffic outfits with her breasts and butt being drawn ridiculously large. She also often loses clothes in almost every video she's in.
  • Slut-Shaming: Subverted, kind of. Mindy is often referred to disrespectfully as a whore, slut and pretty much any word that means the same thing - except she's proud of it.

     Mark La Tour

  • Ascended Extra: Alongside Charles and his daughter, only appeared in a single episode of the original show (same one as his daughter), yet here tends to appear in every major episode.
  • Real Men Eat Meat: Refuses to give Sonia a hamburger because he believes that hamburgers are meant solely for Men in Sonic Underground: Neighborhood Cookout.
  • Straw Misogynist: Is the most unapologetically misogynistic member of the cast, having absolutely no filter in saying things such as women belonging in the kitchen, the aforementioned "women don't eat burgers" and we even see him watch his own daughter get abused by her boyfriend without saying a word about it.

Antagonists

     The New Boys
  • Standard Evil Organization Squad: Like The Boys before them, they are essentially an organization of people dedicated to destroying/killing/ruining the lives of the Sonic Underground; mostly comprised of people who either just hate them or feel wronged by them in the past.

     The Boys

     Dr. Robotnik

  • Demoted to Extra: Was the main antagonist in the original series. In the Tamersverse? He's taken a backseat to the likes of the Boys and their successors the New Boys.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He might be evil, but even he wouldn't come between Sonic and Bartleby's happiness, as seen in Sonic the Hedgehog And The EVIL Dr. Robotnik Battle For The Playstation 5.
  • The Usurper: Mentioned rarely in the show, Dr. Robotnik did usurp the throne of Mobius from Queen Aleena though he seems to hold very little power these days.

     Sleet

  • Straight Man: At least compared to Dingo and Robotnik, anyway.

     Dingo

  • All Love Is Unrequited: Has a crush on Sleet, though it's ambiguous as to whether the latter returns Dingo's feelings. At least so far, anyway.

Other

     As a whole/multiple applicants

  • Ascended Extra: Many of the minor characters only appeared in one or few episodes of the original Sonic Underground series, though in the Tamersverse they tend to make recurring appearances - especially in more major episodes.

     Kevin the Hedgehog

  • Original Character: Was created exclusively for the web series and does not originate from the Sonic Underground show that aired on television.
  • Abusive Parents: Frequently mentioned and shown to have been physically and mentally abusive to Aleena and Chuck, especially in the episode 'Sonic Underground Origins: Kevin the Hedgehog'.

     Flora Latour

  • Garden Garment: In early episodes and when depicted as being younger, Flora often is seen wearing a dress made out of large leaves.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Flora's sisters throughout her childhood were needlessly cruel to her, particularly Mandy who blames her for her mother's suicide probably to cover up Mandy's killing of her mother and generally hates her for being adopted.
  • Missing Mom: Not only was Flora's biological mother killed by the Pink Pixies for sleeping with a Blue Pixie, but then her adoptive mother also died murdered by her sister, Mandy Latour.
  • Sweet Baker: Already one of the sweetest and kindest characters, Flora also bakes at 'Flora's Backery' as mentioned in her debut episode and later in 'Sonic the Hedgehog & his ☀️Hot Boyfriend☀️ works at a Bakery🎃', apparently this was a dream of her adoptive mother that Flora sought to see come to life.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: In 'Sonic Underground The Movie: Sonic And Friends Put On A Play For Little Children' Flora says "When Mindy was making the costumes, she ran out of supplies and came to the bakery club room, I was making bread and I was like, what do you knead?" the reactions to which vary from disappointment to pity.

     Athair

  • Nice Guy: Actually is one of the nicer characters featured in the series, barely ever does anything cruel to another person and seems to genuinely love great grandson Knuckles.

     Trevor

  • Closet Gay: Despite being friends with Sonic and Bartleby, who are in an open gay relationship, Trevor hates it when Cyrus tries to be public about their affection; to an extent that he even once aggressively farted in Cyrus' face while others watched (though Cyrus did return the favor later in the same episode). As of a recent episode though, Trevor may have grown out of this.

     Cyrus

  • Butt-Monkey: Is routinely abused by Trevor, who is his semi-secret (Though might no longer be secret) boyfriend. This includes getting farted on in the face as punishment for being affectionate in public to even being shot in the chest. Despite the abuse, he always come back as if unharmed.

     Max

  • Reformed Criminal: At least by the standards of the Tamersverse. The basis for this character is one from an episode of Sonic Underground who was a street urchin/pickpocket that the band met and befriended.

     Jared

  • Good Ol' Boy: The voice used for him and the lingo he uses when speaking clearly have a country-style vibe to them, and he is also one of the only characters to have said accent besides his Pa and girlfriend.

     Pa

  • Dirty Old Man: Is a 90-something year old man who flirts with and has sex with Serra, who is his son/grandson's girlfriend; who is of course, much younger than him. He does this without any shame, too.

     Serra

  • Sympathetic Adulterer: She blatantly cheats on Jerod with his own Pa, but Jerod does beat her in response to it. Granted, that's hardly a relationship ender in the Tamersverse.

     The Legendary Tamers 12345

  • Author Avatar: Is literally Tamers himself.
  • God: Basically is one, it's stated that he could have stopped the sun from falling himself but let Sonic & Bartleby do it instead.
