Asterossa Butterfly
- Afraidof Their Own Strength: He is reluctant to use revert to his real form for too long since he tends to lose control and become more violent.
- Angst Nuke: He completely loses it when his friends or loved ones are threatened, especially his younger sister, Nia.
- Bastard Bastard: Lampshaded. Because of his true heritage, many assumed Star had him out of wedlock and hid him away until his sister was born. In truth, his parents were very much married, and due to his mother's family lineage, he has a stronger claim to the throne that Nia does.
- Battle Aura: When he uses dark magic, it surrounds him his body like an aura.
- Blood Knight: He hides it well, but he enjoys being in the thick of battle. This isn't something he likes others knowing about since it could stain his image as a perfect prince.
- Best Friend: With Micah Jojo. He hadn't known him that long, but Micah is the one who shows him how to relax and learn to drop his royal act while on Earth. The two become fast friends and are almost always hanging out with one another.
- Big Brother Instinct: While he is protective of Nia, Astro applies this treatment to all of his younger family members and friends. He also considers the members of the Queenguard his 'brothers and sisters'. Many enemies have learned the hard way what happens when they go after his loved ones and he learns of it.
- Bizarre Alien Biology: As a Titan Class Monster Astro has seven functioning hearts.
- Black Eyesof Evil: Not evil, but his eyes do turn black whenever he starts reverting to his monster form.
- The Captain: Captain of the Four Calamities, the strongest warriors in mewni.
- Catchphrase: "Stump!"
- Chick Magnet: He's popular with girls on both Earth and Mewni, despite already having a girlfriend. This often leads to said girlfriend, Maria, becoming a Clingy Jealous Girl around him.
- A Child Shall Lead Them: He becomes the captain of the Queensguard at the age of Fourteen, making him the youngest ever. Despite his objections, it was a unanimous decision by his fellow knights to elect him.
- Cool Sword: His sword, Ocean's Kiss, was a gift from his girlfriend Maria. It's an especially durable weapon that boosts his affinity for water and ice magic.
- Darkand Troubled Past: Between the lost of his birth mother, his rough treatment as a kid, and the drama over his father, Astro's had a pretty rough past.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Is incredibly skilled in dark magic, and can use it without the negative effect. Obviously is not evil however.
- Declarationof Protection: He swore to protect the innocents of Mewni, and takes this very seriously. He takes his vow to protect his sister even more seriously however, to the point of being a Knight Templar Big Brother at times.
- Happily Adopted: He was taken in by Star after his birth mother dies and raised as her son. None of the others view him as anything other than their family, however.
- Healing Factor: His monster side helps him naturally heal faster than average mewmans. His dark magic can enhance this even further.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: His main weapons is his sword, Ocean's Kiss. He's hardly ever seen without it.
- Hidden Depths: Can come off as a stern and stiff individual to some, but shows a different side to those who are closer to him.
- Interspecies Romance: He's a half-breed who ends up falling in love with Maria Kelpbottom, who is a waterfolk.
- Knightin Shining Armor: Is very noble and gentlemanly to most.
- Ladyand Knight: The knight to Maria's lady.
- The Leader: Of the Queensguard and the Four Calamities.
- Madeof Iron: He's incredibly durable compared to his fellow warriors. Higgs noted that he could (and probably 'should') have died multiple times in battle, but despite suffering even the gravest of injuries, he just doesn't...
- Master Swordsman: He's considered the greatest swordsman in Mewni, even by his former teachers. He denies this title, but that doesn't stop others from challenging him for the title.
- Personof Mass Destruction: Between his strong magical abilities from his mother, and the incredibly powerful genes from his father, he's seen as a massive threat to Mewni by the Magical High Commission. Ironically, their harsh treatment of him almost made this a Self Fullfilling Prophecy.
- Rank Scales with Asskicking: The Captain of the Queensguard, and the leader of the Four Calamities. Is hailed as Mewni's strongest warrior.
- The Reason You Such Speech: Always has one of these at the ready, especially for Hody.
- Sinsof Our Fathers: He was constantly seen as a threat because of his father's reputation.
- Spell Blade: His sword, Ocean's Kiss, enhances his water and ice based magic.
- Unstoppable Rage: When he flies off the handle, hardly anything can stop him.
- Warrior Prince: He is the captain of the Queensguard and seen as mewni's strongest warrior. He's a master swordsman and unusually strong even among his family. But he never neglects his princely duties either.
- World's Best Warrior: Even among the Calamities it's agreed that Astro is the strongest in mewni. Though with his father now back in action and his sister 'Titania' he has some competition for the claim.
