     Original Characters (Soul Reapers)

Feluca Tetelra Sharaymin/The Soul Queen

The first Soul Reaper in existence and the Soul King's last line of defense after the royal guard. She has long pink hair and wears a yellow robe. She is softspoken and gentle. Her Zanpakuto is called Onoshin Sokyoku (King's True Twinned Punishment) and its release command is "Punish, Execute and Condemn. Let all who would wish me harm be erased". Originally part of the Soul King until Rita separates them with the Hogyoku.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Watch how she goes from softspoken and gentle to being able to erase Charles and Marianne (she come back though) full and complete.
  • Big Good: Is ultimately this for the entire series even more so after her separation from the Soul King
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Temporarily by Lelouch's geass. She is the reason Charles and Marianne's existences were erased, although later on Marianne comes back.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: 'Punish, Execute and Condemn. Let all who would wish me harm be erased, Onoshin Sokyoku'
  • Team Mom: After she becomes the new Soul King, she becomes a motherly figure to her subjects.
  • The Mentor: To Rita and Yamamoto, and all the other originals. Also someting of a Team Mom to them too.
  • The Unreveal: Her Bankai is never shown or mentioned. Or needed.
  • Walking Spoiler: To say details about her without spoiler tags would change your perception of reality regarding the series forever. She isn't even mentioned until most of the way through the series and then doesn't even make a full appearance until chapter 170. Even then there is still more about her.

Kendra Otamachi

Beauty and Brutality are two words that describe Kendra. She is first introduced as the 5th seat of Squad 2. She becomes the Vice-captain of Squad 2 after Yoruichi and Soifon's banishment. Kendra has dark brown hair and emerald green eyes. Her Zanpakuto is called Akuma Ansatsu.
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Her shikai's dagger is very sharp indeed in that it was cutting clean through Sakuratella's hierro when before Kendra could barely scratch her. And she's not the strongest swinger by any means.
  • Arch-Enemy: Kentaro Vole; He murdered her elder sister Takiko.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Gets a really awesome one in chapter 76. Has to be seen to really note how awesome it is. To elabrate, Yosei and Yolanda are getting their hides handed to them by Diego and Victor. Diego is sending a whole bundle of projectiles at the duo, that would likely kill them both; Kendra shoots down most with her Shikai's special ability, kicks a couple more down, and throws one into the last remaining shot, saving both their necks. She then proves very useful in opening up Diego for Sajin to kill him.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: 'Kill From The Shadows, Akuma Ansatsu.'
  • Combat Pragmatist: Befitting of her occupation as an assassin
  • Curbstomp Battle: Against Needles and his gang who happened to catch her on a bad day.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Should we be thanking or blaming Ichigo?
  • Fragile Speedster: When compared to the other vice-captains anyhow. Kendra is stated to be the fastest vice-captain, bar none. She's probably faster than most of the captains, though Stefan is officially stated to be the faster of the two, and both are presumably some way behind Yoruichi and Shaolin.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: We're looking at you, Chizuru. Possibly Naomi too.
  • Expy: Of a character from the author's original work with the same name. Channels Taki somewhat too.
  • Heroic BSoD: Has one after Ichigo is brought back to the Soul Society. She states that she's going soft and hands her captain her resignation letter, but he helps her out of it.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: Part of her outfit is made of leather, and she is a competent fighter.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Kendra's hairpins are especially sharp.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: At the start of ch 116 due to the stress of her inability to find Ginjo getting to her.
  • Post-Mortem One-Liner: To Sakuratella: "Don't worry, it's fatal."
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Kendra is no 'wow' when on the job, but off it [Wolf Whistle].
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's 174cm. That's 5' 8''.
  • Straw Feminist: Doesn't like being made felt like she's any less of an individual because she's beautiful.
  • Sympathetic Inspector Antagonist: Shares this role with Stefan when they can't catch one of the phantoms. Jusfied given who's in charge
  • The Worf Effect: She's supposed to be a badass Ninja, but we don't see her winning much.
    • In chapter 75 we finally get to see what she's made of. She's awesome!
      • Then she gets another dose afterwards; The Fullbringers and Sumime would agree.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Uryu yells at her for arresting Yoshino for murder he believes she didn't commit. Kendra was wrong. Yoshino was innocent. It was actually Ichigo (or rather Hichigo performing Grand Theft Me).
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: Certainly looks such when she's not in her assassin get up and seems to be aware of this, but refuses to use her charm to its advantage, so of the Steel-hiding-Silk variety, as Ichigo would attest.

Mari Akari

Before the Turn Back the Pendulum Arc, Mari was the Captain of Squad 10. She met her demise at the hands of the Vasto Lordes named Vanguard, of whom she took down with her. Mari was said to be one of the most beautiful women in all of Soul Society as she was one of few that, as a soldier, chose to wore makeup and wore it well. She has long lushous brown hair and brown eyes. Her Zanpakuto is Kokikoken. Her Bankai is Kokikoken Shinkutenpura.
  • The Ace: 2nd person to graduate from the academy early after Yoruichi, in 2 years 4 months, a record that stood for over a century. Gin eventually surpassed that with 1 year.
  • Back from the Dead: Sort of. Her consciousness was pulled together and used by Rita, at Mari's request so that Mari could see the end of Aizen. After his death she had to get in line for reincarnation for which she was still waiting another two years for at that point and since she was around she intended to finish what she started with Aizen. When the conflict was over she went to the human world for the aforementioned two year wait for her reincarnation yet lasts for seven months before she leaves to be reincarnated.
  • Backstory of the Day: The Beach episode reveals she enjoys surfing; Yuna nearly faints whenether she does. She also taught Ashido.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: She wears makeup in contrast to some of the other captains and she never has any issues with it.
  • Mama Bear: She even says flat out "Do not harm those I wish to protect" and she's a Team Mom so there you have it.
  • Mentor Occupational Hazard: She's not the outright mentor to Lelouch, but her death is the cause of his Start of Darkness. It's played completely straight with Yuna though.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: She admits to Lelouch that she had the opportunity to prevent Aizen from ever becoming the man that he [[HeroKiller is]] if she had had him arrested for murder of one of her seated officers rather than promoting him because it [[HonorBeforeReason fit the rules of a duel]].
  • Old Soldier: She was Ashido's captain when he went missing; this would be about 250 years before T Bt P by dates given in Lelouch and the Law. Now, we don't have any canon details on who-what-when and further continuity (such as Yoruichi being her mentor), but it's possible her captaincy predates Shunsui's and Jushiro's.
    • Yoruichi is stated to be the one to unite the Omnitskudo and 2nd Division, so it's possible she only held the former position when Mari graduated, and Mari technically became a captain before Yoruichi did. It also explains why the two of them, Ukitake, Shunsui and Unohana are pretty tight in the first few chapters; similiar age (Mari being a mature student) and length of tenure as captain. This is torpedoed by Shunsui and Ukitake being stated as the first graduates to become captain however. The '200 years' remark could mean they've been captains for far longer than that, and someone else (probably Shinji or Kensei) stepped into the captaincy a few years later, thus resetting the clock.
  • Tear Jerker: Her death, her reunions with Lelouch and Yuna over 100 years later, and her death again; Yuna takes the latter rather better than you'd think...
  • Team Mom: To her subordinates. Lelouch even narrates that he considered her a second mother.

May Stowa

6th seat of Squad 10, formally introduced in the Within Zero's Shadow arc, though she had a brief appearance in the Rise of the Royal Soldier arc. She has brown hair and blue eyes. Her Zanpakuto is called Sento which translates to Battlemage.
  • But Not Too Foreign: May's origins set her as dating back to the days of the Code Geass version of the Revolutionary War (known as Washington's Rebellion in-universe) and actually being the housewife to a soldier.
  • Expy: Of a character in the author's other works; she's a captain in that.
  • Remember the New Guy?: May sort of gets this treatment since her brief appearance in ch 142 offered no character development or formal introduction and Lelouch is currently treating her, along with others, with one of his most sacred secrets of all: His past. Granted Lelouch is Televising this to the Soul Society, but it feels like she's always been there.
    • Word of God is that technically she has always been there, but was never mentioned. She is however seen in great detail in his other crossover.

Naomi Libra

A ditzy hyper energetic ninja girl who is always ready to do her duty. She starts out as a low ranking officer in Squad 2. She functions as Lelouch's direct subordinate during his time there. After years of inaction Naomi returns as the 5th seat of her squad. Naomi is has green mint hair in a ponytail with clear blue eyes. Her Zanpakuto is called Yukan'na Kaze. As of 2007 Naomi's ditziness has diminished somewhat now that she's ceased Obfuscating Stupidity.
  • Ascended Fanon: There were a couple of jokes flitting about how Naomi resembled Strider Hiryu. Fast forward to the Aizen's Revenge arc and watch when Naomi goes up against Sumime.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: Her shikai can be concentrated into a sleeker state, allowing her to fight at faster speeds. It's capable of so much more than that. Look at her battle with Sumime for more info. It makes Naomi look like a genderbent Strider Hiryu.
  • Incredibly Lame Pun: As an assassin she says she'll so Maria her 'Killing potential'. Her opponent finds it just as bad as we do.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": She turns fangirly in the presence of Yoruichi or Soifon
  • The Pollyanna: Naomi is naturally cheerful even if assigned a suicide mission. The Author's notes reveal this is how she would've met her end had Lelouch not been there, by Tosen's hands.
  • Willfully Weak: Did this in order to Mask her identity as the Crystal Phantom to her superiors to make it look like she was still The Ditz and The Pollyanna.

Rita Ginunga

The warden of hell appointed by the Soul King to her position. She has squirrel ears and a tail and carries a long staff Which is the sealed form of her Zanpakuto. She is also a Soul Reaper of the first generation of them. She found Unohana at a very young age and scared the poor girl out of her wits, showing her that the path she was on would lead her to hell and intervened because she believed Unohana had the talent and potential to do great things, setting her to become a Soul Reaper. Her Shikai is called Jigokunoyokubo which translates to Hell's Desire. Her Bankai is called Jigokunoyokubo no daihyo which translates to Representative of Hell's Desire.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: There's a reason more people don't rebel and try to escape hell. She employs the Kushanada to do her bidding. For those that haven't seen the 4th movie the Kushanada are these big lumbering guardians that can pound the Togabito into pancakes. Now does it make sense?
  • Big Damn Heroes: You kind of expect it in chapter 185 since Ukitake is CLEARLY in trouble, but hot damn is it awesome.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Formerly. Before she became Hell's warden, Rita never held back her power and went at her enemy with full force, including using Bankai right from the start. Also: mercy, compassion, and restraint were not in her combat vocabulary. This is what led to her exile.
  • Composite Character: A combination of Squirrel Girl and Makoto.
  • Never My Fault: Has this sort of attitude during her Heroic BSoD after she demolishes a large portion of the Seireitei with her core form and his reprimanded for it.
  • Pass the Popcorn: She starts munching on pecans as she watches the events unfold during the Different Bonds arc.
  • Pet the Dog: Rita's personality has her doing this quite a lot to others, even some that may not deserve it. It's the reason she was established as the warden of hell. Notably are her actions of giving Nyra a gentle sendoff and promising not to punish her and giving Kasumi a break even when they first met and she treated her to a feast and tried to be her friend. Key word here being "tried" considering what came next

Ryou Keshiba

Ryou is a man that would prefer to stop and smell the roses rather than always be serious, though he can do so on a dime and doesn't like it when a serious situation is made light. He has a open view of how justice is carried out. He doesn't openly object to vigilantism, but he doesn't see himself as ever wanting to walk down that path himself. Ryou has blue hair and brown eyes. Ryou is first seen as Lelouch's senpai in division #6. Later he is transferred to Squad 7 and currently is acting as the 4th seat of Squad 11. His Zanpakuto is Yaban Tsuyo-sa. Killed in the Aizen's Revenge arc by Daraclu.
  • The Worf Effect: He takes a mighty swing at Allon, but all it does is tick him off.

Senna Atrumier

No, not that Senna. This one, is the younger sister of Talbumosuke Atrumier. Senna's introductory scene is when Lelouch gives up the land he is allocated to create his own clan to her and her mother to recreate their noble house. She makes her first impactful moment as Karakura Town's new representative, but it's obvious she's a little wet behind the ears. Ichigo , about to leave for college, trains her to get stronger since being in Karakura Town is her final test to see if she can be a full-fledged Soul Reaper. She passes and is made the 20th Seat of Squad 10. Now Tosen's vice-captain in Squad 9. Her Zanpakuto is called Denchi Kuppuku (Battery Knuckle)
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Her fists are used for her Zanpakuto in conjunction with some sweet gauntlets.
  • Book Ends: Ichigo teaches Senna to become an effective Soul Reaper in the same effect of how Rukia first taught him. Also Senna becomes the 10th Squad's 20th seat, which was Lelouch's first position. While ch 137 isn't the last chapter the end of it sure feels like it.
  • Broken Pedestal: Defied; despite the fact he is see as one of the biggest criminals in Soul Society history, Senna still loves big brother Talbumosuke. He returns the sentiment.
  • Squick: When she thinks of what her brother and sister-in-law get up to in private. Probably well-founded.
  • The Atoner: Senna's main goal is to reclaim her family's lost honor wrought upon them by her father, brother and unknowingly her niece.
  • Your Head Asplode: She punches a Togabito so hard in the face that their head combusts due to the electricity discharge and Senna's reiatsu.

Shisato Aloman

Shisato is a real go-getter and energetic individual. She has a large bust and kicks ass quite well. Shisato has Platinum Blond hair and red eyes. She was originally in the 10th Division in her first appearance. She is later transferred to Division 11 as its 3rd seat. After Zaraki makes the 11th Division run by Asskicking Leads to Leadership Ikkaku beats her in combat and she returns to a 4th seat place. After Lelouch and Hitsugaya's captaincy she returns to 10th division and becomes its 3rd seat, which is her current position. Her Zanpakuto is called Tataki no Senshi
  • Her Heart Will Go On: The end result of her incredibly brief relationship with Ikkaku.
    • It was worse than that, she is pregnant and Ikkaku is the father.
  • Willfully Weak: While in the Eleventh Division Shisato follows the unspoken rule and doesn't use Kido. That said she is very good at it as shown that she can use a low 70 Hado with no incantation. It's implied that, had she not followed 11th Division's Modus Operandi, she would've beaten Ikkaku and stayed 11th's 3rd seat.

Stefan Lusca

A strong man with a proud heart and a virtue for justice. He is a master of bladework and is first introduced as the 4th seat of Squad 2. He becomes the Captain of Squad 2 after Yoruichi and Soifon's banishment. Stefan is tan skinned, green haired and has brown eyes. His Zanpakuto is called Yaju Kokuo. His Bankai is called Shiretsu Hokori no Yaju Kokuo. Killed by Aizen in the final battle.
  • Awesome by Analysis: Aided by his knowledge of Isshin, Stefan is able to deduct many of Ichigo's abilities and skills, including his Bankai just by looking at it.
  • Blood Knight: A downplayed example, as Lelouch points out to Ichigo; Stefan could dodge enemy attacks, but prefers to parry and counter, along with the attached risk of getting hurt, just because he enjoys it. Hell, he spars with Kenpachi, that should say everything.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: 'Bare Your Fangs, Yaju Kokuo' and 'Bankai: Shinretsu Kokori no Yaju Kokuo'.
  • Lightning Bruiser: In Bankai.
    • Nowadays, he's more of a downplayed Stone Wall, as his sheer power is nowhere near as great in comparison to people like Ichigo, Kenpachi and Unohana, but can still take a beating and is still extremely quick
  • Master Swordsman: Barring Yamamoto, Stefan is the most proficient in the way of the sword, across the entire range of bladed weapons. This is in contrast to Kenpachi who just swings wildly.
  • One-Man Army: The man took out over 2000 togabito by himself many of which were in the double or triple digits. He drew with the #8 too previously.

Susanna Shapikni/Lamperouge.

Susanna was also a student in Lelouch's Kido class along with Byakuya, Hisana and Gin. Since then she has grown to be Lelouch's #1 supporter. Word of God decrees that "Lelouch could commit murder right in front of Susanna and she would have no problem with it". Her devotion is exceedingly obvious throughout the course of the series. Susanna is silver haired with red eyes. For a while she's the 3rd seat of Squad 6. Her Zanpakuto is Raimeinodo. After the battle with Talbumosuke she is promoted to vice-captain of Squad 7 after Yuna, who takes over for the deceased Sajin Komamura, fires Iba for being a sexist pig. In chapter 136 she marries Lelouch and later convinces Shirley to come on as a second wife. During the Within Zero's Shadow arc we find out that the reason she is so loyal to Lelouch is because she simply knows what lines he will and will not cross, and due to the TemporalParadox the first time he met her is not the first time she met him, though at the time Lelouch thought [[AllJustADream he was dreaming]]. In chapter 181 we find out that she used to be on the run with her brother Kokuto because the world around her wanted the harness the power within her which later came out in her Zanpakuto as her planet is known for humans with supernatural skill. Going by the existence of Emperor Kang Shock and Awe runs in the family.
  • Berserk Button: Calling her some form of deragatory term if you are her enemy sends her into a flying rage.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: On the surface you won't find a nicer girl than Susanna. Yet when she wants to be mean and thoroughly fuck you up she'll do it no problem.
  • Convenient Miscarriage: The baby she is said to be carrying in chapter 55 is lost in chapter 68
  • Creepy Child: Subverted. Many people alienated her because of her silver hair and red eyes. She doesn't seem to mind that others will perceive her this way as long as they don't openly say anything. Then she tends to get emotional. However, she's a really sweet girl if you get to know her.
  • Death by Childbirth: In Lelouch's dream realm she suffers from this. Thankfully this does not happen for real.
  • Smash Sisters: Averted; Yuna helped her get to the Sereitei, and the two had been close for years before Yuna's death, subsequent return, and them becoming captain and lieutenant of squad 7, but it isn't until the final battle that the two get to fight side by side.
  • The Woobie: She was rejected by the people of Rukongai because of how she looked and alienated by her peers, and nearly starved to death before Yuna saved her from all that. She knows how unforgiving the world is and doesn't expect a damn thing from it. Lelouch does what he can, but it still makes you feel like she deserves better out of life.
  • Undying Loyalty: Towards Lelouch. Should be obvious from the description above.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Calling her creepy, strange or a freak in reference to her appearance upsets her and makes her cry
    • Except, it seems, when she needs to change her attitude for Lelouch's sake
  • What Could Have Been: If Susanna had been chosen for the poll regarding chapter 33 when the author went on vacation she would've Become Lelouch's vice-captain when he took office.
  • Woman Scorned: Subverted. When Lelouch told her about that one night with Rangiku Matsumoto she didn't feel any anger at all.

The Mysterious Hooded Soul Reaper/Ichigo Kurosaki.

A mysterious Soul Reaper wearing a black hood with his face obscured. He briefly appeared before Tatsuki in the Ichigo Vs Britannia arc and briefly to Naomi/Orihime Inoue during the Within Zero's Shadow arc, twice now. This character is an enigma both in-universe and out. He appears to know who Lelouch is, but Lelouch is confused as to who this mysterious man is since there is no record of any rogue Soul Reapers to his knowledge. He carries his Zanpakuto in a brown scabbard with a red handle and two blue ribbons extending from the pommel. Lelouch mistakes it for Isshin's Zanpakuto at first, but the scabbard is a completely different color. Apparently he's one of Rita's heralds. He is Ichigo Kurosaki.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He rescues Inoue from the explosion of her Knightmare Frame during the Black Rebellion that would have otherwise killed her.
    • He also saves Tatsuki from having her memory rewritten by Charles.
  • Foreshadowing: If you are paying attention his identity as Ichigo Kurosaki should be obvious long before he reveals himself in chapter 176
    • Also his rescue of Inoue was foreshadowed when he told Matsumoto that if she is in danger he will rescue her. This also foreshadows his identity since Ichigo would do anything to protect Orihime.
  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: His aforementioned rescues of Inoue and Tatsuki become this upon the reveal that He is Ichigo Kurosaki.

Vera Ukitake

Vera is a shy girl who rarely speaks. Apparently though she and Lelouch can have full conversations while she remains mute. After the incident with Metastacia, Ukitake adopts her as a sister after Vera is discharged from the Gotei so that she is not thrown out onto the streets. Vera has Mahogany colored hair and eyes to match. Recently Vera has returned to the Gotei 13 sporting an eyepatch and an [[ArtificialLimbs artificial hand both body parts of which she lost to Metastacia. After Aizen's Revenge, she is now Unohana's Vice-Captain in Squad 1]]. Her Zanpakuto is Chi Kamisori (Blood Razor). Her Bankai is Chi Kamisori Minagoroshi (Blood Razor Bloodbath).
  • Defiant to the End: When Shrieker corners her and pins her down and demands that she answer his questions. She spits at him and glares defiantly.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: She's been on two polls the author has put up to determine the future of the series and Vera won both. The latter of which included Rukia as an option. Even the author said he was surprised.
  • Eye Patch Of Power: Obtains one after [[Eye Scream the below trope. Subverted when she removes it against Chi Kamisori and seems to not be intending to put it back on.
  • Eye Scream: Courtesy of Metastacia gouging ir out with its tentacle. She has it sewn shut afterwards and wears the aforementioned Eye Patch Of Power
  • Improbable Weapon User: Her Zanpakuto is just... seriously what IS that? In Bankai she uses bladed bracelets and a giant [[Rings of Death bladed ring.
  • Interplay of Sex and Violence: Vera used to enjoy bathing in the blood of her victims and masturbating to the corpses because of her Dark and Troubled Past.
  • Handicapped Badass: She's missing an eye and a hand, and she's a vice-captain with Bankai, she qualifies. It should be noted that this is averted while she's in Gigai where both her eye and hand are fully functional.
  • She's Back: After the incident with Metastacia she is discharged from the Gotei for PTSD. Several decades later though she gets better and comes back, and seriously makes up for lost time.
  • Rings of Death: She carries a giant bladed ring in Bankai.
  • Scars Are Forever: Vera's eyelid is still sewn shut over her missing eye.
  • Shrinking Violet: Well she is the The Quiet One after all. Though this trope really isn't identifiable until Vera starts blushing like a little schoolgirl over someone she has a crush on in chapter 107. Subverted as of 193 where she obtains Bankai.
    • Well she does seem to have shades of I Just Want to Have Friends so this doesn't come off as much of a shock.
      • It's more than just shades. See chapter 197 for more details.
  • The Quiet One: So much so that her talking to others is like Gin opening his eyes.
    • Kiyone lampshades the above when she talks quite openly, then unleashes Bankai.
  • The Silent Bob: Becomes this when Lelouch has whole conversations with her. And as of obtaining Bankai may not do so anymore.
  • Took a Level in Badass: She has forced her Zanpakuto to materialize and is attempting to subjugate it to learn Bankai.
    • She subjugated it. She has and it was glorious!

Yolanda Bermuta

Yolanda is a veteran warrior whose life was saved by Former Captain of Squad 10 Mari Akari. Yolanda dedicated herself to fighting to help Mari. After many years of being unseen Yolanda returns as the 4th seat of Squad 2. Yolanda has frizzed blonde hair and blue eyes. Her Zanpakuto is called Akki Satsugai.
  • Badass Boast: Gets one after defeating Akki Satsugai: "Surprised? You shouldn't be. I'm a long running veteran. I was in war even before I died. When you are the casualty of the greater good, when you are trained to kill to fight for your homeland, when you are forced to grow up quicker because of constant wars, forced to pick up a weapon and defend yourself before you've barely begun to learn your multiplication tables, you know all of what I was, but you retain all of what I've thrown away: the innocence I still possess. I see the look on your face and I realize that now. I am far too experienced to be outmaneuvered by an enemy, but you have always looked so much younger than me and only now, with the success of this risk do I understand why. Let us go back to how we were, Akki Satsugai. Let us be partners once more. I am no saint, but my sin is out of necessity. I am a soldier."
  • Child Soldiers: She claims she first fought in a war when she was still learning her multiplication tables.
  • Guns Akimbo: the default mode of her Zanpakuto.
    • In the Reapers and Heralds arc she still employs this trope using two custom made pistols modeled after weapons that were used before the art of Zanpakuto
  • Mythology Gag: Her Zanpakuto already gives her a crazy Devil May Cry Shout-Out, but in chapter 100 she goes and puts on a red long coat with brown leather vest that's bullet proof along with two custom made pistols and she is still carrying her sword.
  • Survivor's Guilt: Part of Child Soldiers above, also thinks she should have sacraficed herself instead of Yosei.

Yosei Samakura

Yosei is a man who, much like Kaien, prides himself in honor and doing the right thing. Of course, he still is an excellent assassin. He is first introduced as a low ranking officer in Squad 2 Lelouch's direct superior when he joins the squad. Currently he is the 3rd seat of the squad. Yosei has wild short black hair and dark brown eyes. His Zanpakuto is called Tetsuryu. He is killed by Vanguard during the Aizen's Revenge arc
  • Mythology Gag: Just before his death he obtains Bankai. In the third installment of the author's other fanfic he is a captain. We get to see said Bankai in action there.

Yuna Homura

Before the Turn Back the Pendulum Arc, Yuna was the Vice-Captain of Squad 10. After Mari's death, it was revealed that Yuna and Mari were engaged in a homosexual relationship. Yuna swore vengeance on the person that indirectly caused Mari's death, Treva Hoshima, and went with the Onmitsukido to hunt him down. Before leaving she made it known to Lelouch that she liked him. She failed to track Hoshima down, despite searching for the best part of 30 years, during which time she found a baby Rukia and helped raise her for a while; she had to leave her before she started training to acquire Bankai. She returned to the Gotei and succeeded Mari as squad 10's captain with Isshin as her lieutenant. Hoshima challenged her to a duel that resulted in both their deaths. Lelouch, by now 10th captain himself, by blind luck found her reincarnation some 70 years later, and with Mayuri's [[EnemyMine help was able to restore her; she became Shunsui's lieutenant. After her revival and the victory in the Second Battle of Fake Karakura Town, she became the Captain of Squad 7 after Sajin's death, and after firing Iba made Susanna her Vice-Captain. Yuna has pine green hair with split ends and crimson eyes. Her Zanpakuto is Yogo Keikai. Her Bankai is Yogo Keikai no Chujitsuna Kishi, her Core Form is Saigo no Taiyoga Tensho.]]
  • Bury Your Gays: Ironic in the fact that the author finds that Girl on Girl Is Hot. Still it's played completely straight...the trope anyway. Yuna and Mari were in a lesbian relationship after all.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: 'Motivate, Yogo Keikai' and 'Bankai: Yogo Keikai no Chujitsuna Kishi'.
  • Character Tic: Whenever Yuna lies she puts her sleeve in front of her mouth. By the time she becomes a captain she's grown out of it, though she still does it when she's embarrassed.
  • Composite Character: Physically; Hairstyle and figure based loosely on CC, hair and eye colours come form Setsuna Kiyora
  • Crazy-Prepared: Played for laughs; she attends a vice-captain's meeting, and is sounded out as the new one in charge. Yachiru, the current head (by default, really), objects to this; Yuna bribes her with a lollipop and cookie, despite the fact that she's never met Yachiru before, due to being dead when the latter joined the Gotei.
  • First-Name Basis: With Lelouch. Even married Susanna still calls him Lelouch-dono, though she says the honorific is done out of affection.
  • Forgot About Her Powers: Her Shikai allows her to control Fire, Water, Air and Earth, with Earth being the most commonly used; after coming Back from the Dead she never uses them again, despite the fact she states in her explaination of her Bankai that she can.
  • Generation Xerox: Of a sort; Captain Mari Akari saved Yuna's village, and Yuna followed Mari back to the Seiretei, and in the fullness of time became her vice-captain in squad 10. Yuna, whilst hunting down Hoshima, later discovered Susanna nearly starved to death in a barn, sent her to the academy, and she's now Yuna's VC in squad 7. Yuna and Mari were in a relationship, and had circumstances been different, Yuna and Susanna would have married the same man, namely Lelouch. Furthermore, both Yuna and Mari died in battle, but killed their opponent too, and both came back later, though via different methods.
  • Master Swordsman: Considered this along with Stefan and Kenpachi; longswords and greatswords are her forte.
  • Meaningful Name: Yuna Homura = 'Moon Blaze' Hana Yumuro = 'hot spring flower'
  • Morality Chain: Lelouch's; he knows she'll readily beat him up if he falls back into old habits, or even if he thinks of doing someting stupid like sacraficing himself needlessly.

     Original Characters (Arrancar)

Arietta Jaegerjaques

A young arrancar girl with long mint green hair and the youngest of the three siblings between her, Fenrique and Tallisandra. Her Resurreccion is called La Ligre (The Liger). Her mother is Nelliel and her father is Grimmjow.
  • Informed Ability: We haven't exactly seen her fight. All we know about her abilities are given to us from the narration.
  • Panthera Awesome: While we haven't seen it, her Resurreccion's name certainly implies it.

Ciela Mieddo

Ciela is a Vasto Lordes level arrancar. She becomes the 8th Espada after Zommari's death. She has snow white hair, silver lips, gray eyes, bug eye antenna for mask fragments and wears a one piece suit with thigh high boots rather than a standard arrancar uniform. Her Resurreccion is Reina de Insectos. She is defeated by Hisana's Bankai.
  • Bee Afraid: He Resurreccion makes her into something akin to a bee.
  • Bee-Bee Gun: She summons an army of worker bees to attack while in Resurreccion
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: 'Feed And Feast, Reina de Insectos'.
  • Kryptonite Factor: Fire, though considering her Resurreccion it's justified.
  • Stealth Pun: Ciela is a Queen and her Resurreccion makes her look like a bee. Queen Bee anyone?
  • The Rival: To Hisana; both are 'royalty' in their respective circles, are they are opponents in both Battles of Fake Karakura. Hisana's the one who kills her.

Diego Narmanda

Diego is a wise-cracking, fun-loving arrancar that serves under Spargga. He is a Palette Swap Expy of Dante from Devil May Cry. Killed by Komamura. His Resurreccion is Aguion.

Fenrique Jaegerjaques

A middle child of three siblings. He has untamed blue hair. His older sister is named Tallisandra. His younger sister is named Arietta. His Resureccion is called Puerco Espin. His mother is Nelliel and his dad is Grimmjow.
  • Informed Ability: All we know about his fighting abilities are mentioned in narration only.

Gloria Gebrie

Gloria is a flirtatious, snarky arrancar that serves under Spargga. She is an Expy of Trish from Devil May Cry. She kills Shuhei soon after revealing her Resurreccion and shot a Cero to his head but is later killed by her next opponent Susanna. Her Resurreccion is Oveja

Karrthus Darigaaz

A burly arrancar that serves under Ciela. While sealed up he has hollow armor covering his entire upper body except for his nose, making him quick on his feet, but slow up top. But he throws quite a punch. When he releases the speed problem goes away. He is killed by Kenpachi Zaraki. His release is Guerrero.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: He gets this kind of send off, but after killing Ikkaku, many fans probably think his death at Kenpachi's hands was well deserved justice.
  • All There in the Manual: According to Word of God Karrthus' feelers are supposed to absorb reishi based attacks, but he never went up a Kido using opponent or someone that wasn't physical.
  • What Could Have Been: Word of God says that Karrthus was originally supposed to be an Espada, but by leaving Grimmjow alive and on the evil side the idea was scrapped. Apparently there was going to be an even bigger, more even, battle between Karrthus and Kenpachi, though this would've been preceeded by much more destruction. YMMV on whether or not that last part would've been a good thing or not.

Maria Rosalita Samaselia

Maria is a proud and slightly reserved arrancar that serves under Spargga. She is an Expy of Lady from Devil May Cry. She is killed by Naomi Libra. Her release is called Ginoide.

Nigel Argos

Nigel is a Jerkass, smart-mouthed, inexperienced arrancar that serves under Spargga. He is a Palette Swap Expy of Nero from Devil May Cry. He is killed by Renji Abarai. His release is called La Garra.
  • Chainsaw Good: The sealed form of his Zanpakuto is a Chainsaw on a stick.
    • In release mode his left arm becomes a chainsaw

Spargga Tedanelo

Spargga is a Vasto Lordes level arrancar. he becomes Espada #2 after Baraggan is defeated and killed by Talbumosuke. He is an Expy of Sparda from Devil May Cry. His release is called El Diablo. Defeated by Unohana.

  • One-Winged Angel: His Segunda Etapa is stated to look downright satanic compared to his usual form
  • Blood Knight: Loves a good fight under his polite, gentlemanly demeanor
  • Brass Balls: You have to give him acredation for having the courage to not only challenge Unohana but to also interrupt her as well.

Tallisandra Jaegerjaques

The eldest of three siblings of her, Fenrique, and Arietta. She has short brown hair that covers one eye and carries a Sinister Scimitar for a Zanpakuto. Her Resureccion is called Chupacabra con alas (Chupacabra with wings). Her mother is Nelliel and her father is Grimmjow.
  • Brainy Brunette: Well, at least so far as she can tell where she's going.
  • Continuity Nod: Her ceros pack the punch of two; Mom Nelliel's Cero Doble is strangly absent from this story, but the effect is the same.
  • Informed Ability: All we know about her abilities are said in narration only
  • No Sense of Direction: Inverted; it's thanks to her that Kenpachi's team arrive to leave for the final battle on time, much to Yachiru's chargrin and Lelouch's relief.
  • Younger Than They Look: Can't have lived longer than being in her late teens (17 according to chapter 193) considering the biological mother, passes for someone in their late 20s (27, same as previous).

Wes Motocii

An arrancar that serves under Kira. Wes has purple skin and teal hair. His hollow hole is in his Adam's Apple. His mask fragments are formed by two spider web shaped patterns on his cheeks. Eliminated by Kaibun.

     Original Characters (Togabito)

Alexander Gator

A humanoid with green reptilian scales for skin, black hair and sharp teeth. He is Togabito #10

Chrysanthemum

A deep azure skinned equine shaped creature with a lightning bolt shaped unicorn horn, holes in her hooves, fangs as opposed to the usual equine jaw and dragonfly wings. She is the #9 Togabito.

Daraclu

A Togabito with gray skin, wears a red long coat, has black hair and red eyes. He dual wields two miniature Gatling guns and can transform them into silver swords. He is from Varcina and belonged to one of the guilds. He is half-vampire and half-human and he is completely crazy. He is the 33rd most powerful Togabito.
  • Hero Killer: Kills off Shinji Hirako, nearly does this to Lisa Yadomaru, and kills off Rose after he uses his Finishing Move.

Ferrum Draco

A togabito with iron-skin and long black hair like an indian's headdress. He is togabito #139.
  • Casting a Shadow: Can coat his body with Shadow to increase his power tremendously, but can't hold it indefinitely, which causes him to lose to Grimmjow.

Geo

A guy at 6' 3'', who wears back armor with gold trim, and has a black dragon wrapped around his arm. He is the #5 Togabito.
  • Expy: Of Golbez according to Word of God.
  • Field Promotion / Number Two: With the shake up of the status quo at the end, he's now the de facto #2, with Talbumosuke being #1.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Picks a fight with KASUMI. To be fair, he has pretty heavy duty back-up and they do pretty well considering (though Kasumi wasn't using her Zanpakuto).

Kankuiirushi

A huge black dragon (twice Zuke's size). He is the #7 Togabito
  • Killed Off for Real: Normally, a Togabito only returns to Hell if Rita claims them; Kanky was blown to bits by Starrk, which would prevent that from occuring.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Picks a fight with KASUMI. To be fair, he has pretty heavy duty back-up and they do pretty well considering (though Kasumi wasn't using her Zanpakuto)
    • Does better against Starrk, but still loses.
  • Shout-Out: Alexander Anderson's classic cry of 'AAAAAAAAAAAAMMMEEEEEEEEN!'

Kira Luz

An arrancar easily prone to laughter. Kira is a Vasto Lordes level arrancar. He becomes the 9th Espada after Szayel's death. He is an Expy of Light Yagami from Death Note. His Resurreccion is called Cuaderno. He is defeated by Shunsui's Bankai and is now Togabito #209 in hell.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: 'Write, Cuaderno'.
  • Ditto Fighter: Part of his powers include copying the names of Zanpakuto that he knows and he can use them against his opponents, but he can't use a Zanpakuto that's being actively and concentratingly used by its original owner.

Misana Lumona Kurotsuchi

The artificial creation of Mayuri, Szayel and Kira. Togabito #159. She defeats Nemu off-screen thereby pressing Lelouch's Berserk Button. Her Zanpakuto release is Tosokurui (Cephalopod)

Nyra Legumi

The fourth most powerful Togabito in hell. With good reason. She has pink hair, horns on her head, and doesn't wear much in the ways of clothing. She has four extra invisible arms, as sharp as swords, that she uses to either help herself move, or as weapons. Initially she is unwilling to Join Aizen and help him in his plans but after Aizen saves her from Baraggan she changes her mind. Killed by Shutara.
  • Four Is Death: Yeah it's a god damn given she's dangerous considering who she's based off of, but in chapter 123 she Kills Yamamoto. Daraclu lampshades her being this in a previous chapter.
  • Killed Off for Real: Shutara leaves her to bleed out after defeating her to free her from her suffering and let her move on with a chance of having a happier life.
  • More than Mind Control: Rita feels Aizen has done this to her by the time she fights Shutara
  • Raised by Wolves: Quite literally, considering her Wild Child status.
  • The Dreaded: She's the most feared of the top dogs; not suprising when you consider that she's more powerful than Kasumi, Aizen or Talbumosuke before they start releasing.
  • Tragic Monster: She was sent to Hell in death not because she is evil, but because she was TOO DANGEROUS.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Aizen. She calls him "Papa" for crying out loud! Kasumi later gets "Nice Lady".
  • Wild Child: Big time!
  • You Are Number 6: Ranked Togabito #4

Orin / Zane Zugamor

Number 20 of the Togabito. He wears pyrite armor with horns. He wields a scimitar and a rounded shield. Before his original death he was a shinigami known as Zugamor Zane, Unohana's lover. Never fought during Kasumi's Hell on Earth and is friends with Ikkaku.
  • Affably Evil: Challenges Ichigo to a fight, but will let the others members of the party pass by him as he wants to see the power of a very powerful mortal.

Phoebe Clamora

A Togabito with braided blonde hair and silver eyes. She wields a Claymore and fights with the strength and mercilessness of a demon. She also has demon power and wears a sapphire breast plate and armor. She is the 76th most powerful Togabito. In 2021 she's dropped down to 78.
  • Killed Off for Real: By Nelliel; if the usual rules are being followed, togabito usually return to Hell after their death. If Rita doesn't do it, they don't return to Hell.

Project ISV

The code name given to a project created by Indian scientists most notably Rakshata. It has a Sakuradite "heart" and is Togabito #67.
  • No Name Given: Its name is the code name given to its construction.

Renezu

A kaiju sizec cross between a Deinonychus and a King Cobra. She is Togabito #3230.
  • Mistaken for Badass: She barely gave Tessai any trouble, but her sheer size is enough to send her fellow togabito fleeing in terror since she's bigger than the Kushanada.
  • Samus Is a Girl: Yeah Renezu is female much to the surprise of many.

Shiverfang Whitepelt

A large werewolf Togabito. #533

Sumime Nezumi

An anthromorphic rat ninja demon-summoner. She has complete white fur, has rat-like legs, but has human-shaped breasts. She is described as having inky red eyes. She is the 98th most powerful togabito.

Treva Hoshima

Former Captain of Squad 3 predecessing Rojuro Otoribashi. Treva has been working alongside Aizen since before Lelouch arrived in the Soul Society. He is responsible for setting up an ambush that nearly wiped out several seated officers of the Tenth Division and cost Captain Mari Akari her life. He subsequently escapes from the Soul Society. He is ultimately caught and killed by the combined efforts of Lelouch and Yuna. His Zanpakuto is called Kemuri Akuma. His Bankai is Shinku Pimarai Kemuriakuma
  • Achilles' Heel: He can't use any of his Bankai's abilities if his blade is in contact with something tangible that's not a part of his own body.

Turbo

A red robot with blue eyes and porcupine-esque back spines. He is the #6 Togabito
  • Too Dumb to Live: Picks a fight with KASUMI. To be fair, he has pretty heavy duty back-up and they do pretty well considering (though Kasumi wasn't using her Zanpakuto)
    • To be fair, he does a lot better against Yoruichi.

Vanguard

A Vasto Lordes. The first ever in fact. He is now an even higher level of hollow. He is the 8th strongest Togabito.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Orin has a bone to pick with Vanguard because the hollow is responsible for his death, but Vanguard doesn't remember him having killed so many Soul Reapers during his time.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: Downplayed; he gains a grudging respect for both Kenpachi and Stefan, both of whom have beaten him in combat (during Aizen's Revenge and Wish Fulfillment respectively). Kenpachi beat him more comprehensively during Permanent Sinner.
  • Worthy Opponent: Gains a respect for Zaraki and Sefan for being able to best him in combat.

Zurik Tarogas

A long lived, red cloak wearing, fire using anthropomorphic fox demon Togabito. He had a powered up form where he is just shadows inside said red cloak. He is the 126th most powerful Togabito, and was once the #1. In the Permanent Sinner arc he's up to #80.
  • Red Baron: Goes by names such as Horror of Fire and The Old One.
  • Start of Darkness: Responsible for Kasumi's thanks to his manipulations.

Original Characters (Previous Top 20 Togabito)

These are the Togabito during Kasumi's rise to power. Naturally, they've all been Killed Off for Real, victims of The Assimilator. And for most of them We Hardly Knew Ye as Kasumi took them out via Curbstomp Battle. Put in numerical order except for Codex because he has a larger role.

Codex

The former #2 Togabito, back when Zurik was #1 and Kasumi was a recent arrival in Hell. Was demoted, then returned to being the #8.
  • Foreshadowing: Made it quite clear to Kasumi when he trained her that they would fight to the death one day.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Downplayed; he constantly says he and Kasumi are enemies, but is the only one who never outright betrays her. She even commends him for that as she absorbs him; on his part, he has no hard feelings either.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: Mostly relies on his magic, but he wouldn't have been the former #2 without being able to tank and fight up close.

Emperor Kang

The former #19 Togabito. He is Susanna and Kokuto's distant ancestor
  • Shock and Awe: Lightning Powers; perhaps that's where Susanna gets it from.

Zankuro

The former #18 Togabito
  • Wake-Up Call Boss: First of the Togabito in this section who puts up a half-decent fight.

Aria Alchenhime

The former #15 Togabito.

Moz Somebody

The former #12 Togabito

Zector

The former #11 Togabito

Spade

The former #10 Togabito

Garnet Amethyst

The former #9 Togabito

Kuroken Ikari

The former #7 Togabito
  • Expy: Of Hakumen, even down to his fighting style being based on counter-attacks
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: He has 16 eyes none of them are on his face
  • Meaningful Name: Anger's Black Sword; given who he's based on, perhaps Kenshiro (white sword) would have been more appropriate, or making it Dark Susano'o instead so the name fits better.

Garma Lokotos

The former #6 Togabito

Alphaego

The former #4 Togabito
  • Made of Diamond: His armor is noted as being incredibly tough.
  • Megaton Punch: How Kasumi leaves him vulnerable to being absorbed by smashing his shield.

Leviathan

The former #3 Togabito
  • Expy: Of Nightmare from the Soul Series; Huge sword? Check. Mismatched arms? Check (though reversed laterality; Levy's right handed to Nightmare's left). Armour? Hoo yeah.

Ryuoni Hinoomaru

The former #2 Togabito after Codex fell to #8
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: Tries to convince Kasumi of this regarding the Lotus System; it doesn't work.

Hebiga Shinigeki

The former #1 Togabito after Zurik fell to #126. He carries with him Gin's Cheshire Cat Grin and Eyes Always Shut traits. He wears a red fedora hat and has eerie yellow eyes. He dresses in a suit like he's Michael Jackson, that's red, and he has sky blue hair that, when he takes his hat off, looks like he stuck his finger in an electric socket.
  • All Your Powers Combined: The Lotus System allows him to do this as it does Kasumi. Also, he states that this trope played by the other top dogs in Hell wouldn't be enough to beat him. Considering the trouble Kasumi had with him, he's likely right.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Was the #1 Togabito in hell before Kasumi and dresses like the king of pop
  • Berserk Button: Same as the person he's an Expy of: liars.

     Original Characters (Other)

!! Cynthia Caroline Lamperouge

Lelouch and Susanna's daughter
  • Meaningful Name: Her first and middle name have the initials CC. CC still lives as she was before she obtained the code of geass, but CC as Lelouch and everyone around her knew her is long since gone because of Aizen taking her code.

Kyo & Isao Kuchiki

Byakuya's and Hisana's twins born during Reapers and Heralds. Kyo is female, Isao is male (Kyo's the older). Once grown up, Kyo looks like her mother Hisana (though more like her aunt Rukia), but has her father Byakuya's eyes, and Isao looks like his father Byakuya, with his mother Hisana's eyes; she thinks he looks like Lelouch. Their parents will have them enter the Shino Academy in 2022.

  • Yamato Nadeshiko: Kyo is already growing into one of the Silk Hiding Steel variety like her mother Hisana rather than Steel Hiding Silk like her aunt Rukia; she takes the sweetness up a notch.

Meredith Meredia

A blonde veteran Major General later just General of the Britannian Army. Meredith is cold and calculating and is one of Cornelia's main superiors besides Darlton and Nonette during Cornelia's rising. She is hard to impress and a respected member of the armed forces
  • Lady of War: Word of God says that Meredith carries herself about like a gun wielding female version of Byakuya while on the battlefield.
  • Older Than They Look: Can pass for 12 years younger than she actually is and is 56 In 2009 atb. At the end of R2 she's 65 and now with it being 3 years later this woman is 68 and still employed in the Britannian army as the Deputy General-in-chief. Nice.

Mindra

A blue haired, violet eyed girl Lelouch meets during his academy entrance exam. Reappears in Chapter 83 only to die soon after.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Appears agains nearly a century later and through her is how Lelouch meets Hana who is supposedly Yuna’s reincarnation.

Scourge/ Lelouch vi Britannia

Scourge is a Vasdo Lorde class menos who appears during the closing events of Pursuit of The Truth. He is defeated by Orihime's new Fullbring powers. Post Zero Requiem, he eats the Hollow that Lelouch (the living one) has become but, like Miyako did to create Mia, Lelouch's mind hijacks the body, and he is reborn as a new Zero, one who destroys worlds, and erases life! [[EvilLaugh MWAHAHAHAHA!!! For more info check Zero's entry on this page.]]

  • Body Snatcher: How he becomes what he is, and quickly has to deal with other Hollows trying to pull the exact same trick.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Seems to exist solely for the purpose of Lelouch pulling Grand Theft Me to become a Vasto Lorde.
  • Grand Theft Me: Subject to this by Lelouch
  • Informed Ability / Anti-Climax Boss: Despite being stated as a Vasto Lorde class hollow, his performance is nothing short of pathetic; Orihime (who is nowhere near as powerful as her canon counterpart) beats him quite easily with a power she's never used before, and see Chekhov's Gun above for what happens next.
