     Sehan Kim
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sehan_kim_profile.png
"Once you neglect a person in need, it becomes easy to do it a second time. That's why I can't let myself abandon anyone, not even once." I couldn't become like him in my previous life, despite the fact that I was also saved by him.—Sehan Kim
Sehan Kim is the only survivor of the first playthrough. He didn't win by being the strongest, the most skilled, or the fastest. He won by doing whatever it took, taking advantage of everyone and everything. He was a sneaky bastard about it, and knows it. With his second playthrough, he's trying to prevent the deaths of as many people as he can, and might turn out to be a hero after all.
  • Creepy Crows: Having defeated the crow constellation Karas, Sehan gains the Eye of the Crow ability, giving him the power to summon a limitless number of crows. Even so, the more crows he summons, the more difficult it becomes to keep them under control.
  • Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory: Since Sehan was the only person left alive, it's natural that he is the only one who can remember the first playthrough. Fortunately, the Gods and Game Masters don't remember it either, but The System seems to.
  • Semi-Divine: Becomes a demigod by claiming Karas's divinity.
  • You Kill It, You Bought It: Becomes the new Crow by killing Karas.

     Jisu Han
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jisu_han_profile.jpg
A year younger than Sehan, they both went to the same college. In the first playthrough, Sehan cowered behind a protective Jisu as they were attacked by the first monster to appear: a goblin. Sehan didn't let it play out that way the second time, and discovered that Jisu is a Celestial Slayer, something so rare in the game that Sehan had encountered exactly one other person with the same ability in the first playthrough.
  • Creepy Good: While she's happy to defend innocents (human non-Players), she seems a little overeager to kill the bad guys. The aura from being a Celestial Slayer contributes to this, but Sehan is wondering how much Jisu's personality is changing.
Jisu: "I guess even the raid boss dies when you rip its brain off."
Sehan: (Stop saying that with a smile on your face. It's terrifying.)
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: When Jisu sees enough blood, her eyes turn red thanks to the Celestial Slayer ability.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Towards Sehan. Though technically Sehan is aware of her affections, but has not acknowledged them to her. Particularly in Sehan's last incarnation where Jisu's Celestial Slayer attribute had driven her insane, even practically feral, she still protected back then relatively powerless Sehan without him even knowing, presuming her to be dead without checking, until she presumably eventually died against something stronger than her.

     Mina Lee
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mina_lee_profile.jpg
A high school age Player who is the chosen Avatar of Young Jester. One of the two most manipulative Players Sehan knows of in the game. Sehan finds her pretty easy to manipulate into doing things to help him.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: As part of being Young Jester's Avatar, Mina can shapeshift into anyone or anything, though she hasn't demonstrated shifting into anything non-living, except for clothing she's wearing.

     Siu Song
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/siu_song_profile.jpg
A middle school age Player who is the chosen Avatar of Hephaestus. In the first playthrough, all the top players had equipment created by him.

     Changu Song
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/changu_song_profile.jpg
Siu's older brother.
  • Blind Weaponmaster: The Mind's Eye ability means that he's still quite competent with a sword, despite being blind.

     Hyeongyun Yun
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hyeongyun_yun_profile.jpg
President of the college student council before the beginning of the game, Hyeongyun is a natural leader. He organized most of the campus survivors into one group. He later become the Avatar of an as yet unrevealed God.

     Donggwon Park
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/donggwon_park_profile.jpg
Vice-President of the college student council, Sehan remembers Donggwon as the other most manipulative Player from the first playthrough. Chosen Avatar of An Honest Life.
  • Smug Snake: Donggwon was always willing to screw everyone else over to get ahead, no matter how friendly he seemed at first. He would join groups and destroy them from within to his benefit. With this prior knowledge, Sehan finds Donggwon predictable and useful instead of dangerous, thus brought down to this level instead of being more villainous.

     Lin Taylor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lin_taylor_profile.jpg

     Luke Taylor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/luke_taylor_profile.jpg
Lin's American-born father.

     Juwon Kim
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/juwon_kim_profile.jpg
Chosen Avatar of Hades. Leader of The Sins, a group of criminals who broke out of prison when the game began.

     Juan Shin

     Orga, Basilisk, Sentinel
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/orga_profile.jpg
"A named boss that has been properly made to be unbeatable."—Sehan
Boss Fight for the second quest. Had to be defeated to complete the quest.
  • Taken for Granite: The gaze of a basilisk turns everyone around to stone. Note that the victim doesn't have to be looking at the basilisk for this. Orga has to activate it, there's a recharge time, and weasels are immune.

Demons

     Neviroth
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/neviroth_profile.jpg

     Azazel, Demon of Sloth
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/azazel_profile.jpg

Constellations

     Karas, the Crow
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/karas_profile.jpg

  • Semi-Divine: He has a bit of divinity, but by suppressing his power a bit, is permitted by the System to enter Earth directly, unlike full gods.

Gods

     Young Jester
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/young_jester_profile.jpg
As befits her name, she's a capricious God. She's very secretive and unwilling to tell other Gods information she knows. Chose Mina Lee as her Avatar.
  • Public Domain Character: "Jester" is just a nickname. Her real name is Loki.
  • Sex Shifter: At one point while bored, she considers shifting to a male form to play with goddesses.

     An Honest Life
Screen name in the Gods' forums for an as yet unnamed God. Chose Donggwon Park as his Avatar.

     The Witch of Dreams
The God who had Sehan as her chosen Avatar for the first playthrough.

Game Masters

     Arkatus
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arkatus_profile.jpg
The Game Master for Korea. Sehan places the greatest amount of blame for what happened in the first playthrough on him.
