The Good Guys

The Gaia Rangers (WARNING - SPOILERS)

The Team As A Whole

  • Badass Crew
  • Combining Mecha: Naturally, the team's primary five Gaia Zords can combine to form the Gaia Megazord. The Gaia Megazord can also combine with the Dragon Zord to form the Dragonforce Megazord. Drayden's Zords can likewise combine to form the Dragoon Megazord. In particular situations, the two Megazords can even switch arms.
  • Humongous Mecha: Each of the five core Rangers has their own individual Gaia Zord they pilot: The Phoenix, Hippogriff, Leviathan, Behemoth, and Thunderbird Zords. Drayden technically has three: His primary Zord, the Dragon Zord, and two extras, the Lion and Wolf Zords. Jowar doesn't have a Gaia Zord of his own, but he oftentimes operates the Magna Buster, a Giant Frickin' Laser in the form of a crystal that emerges from the roof of the Ancient Library.
  • Mecha Expansion Pack: In addition to the Gaia Zords, there are also three Auxiliary Zords that can be summoned and don't require pilots: The Turtle, Kitsune, and Unicorn Zords.
  • Mythical Motifs
  • Recruit Teenagers with Attitude: It's never explicitly stated how old the Rangers are, but seeing as how they're first and second year college students, one can assume they're anywhere in the range of 18 to 20.
  • Transforming Mecha: The team's three Auxiliary Zords can transform into different weapons for the Gaia Megazord, and even combine together to form the Gaiamax Staff.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Most evident with Patrick and Madilyn, but can really apply to the whole team, as they oftentimes bicker, but remain good friends nonetheless.

Nichelle "Nikki" Markson / Red Gaia Ranger

"...If this is gonna turn into some kind of macho chivalry thing, let me save you the trouble: I am NOT a Damsel in Distress. I'm the Red Ranger for a reason."

A tenacious fighter and strategist, who was literally dragged kicking and screaming into the group the day she met Madilyn. She's known for being more than a little bull-headed, had a little trouble fitting into her new group of friends at first, and doesn't handle loss very well. She's skilled in karate and fencing, and has since learned to wield a bow since becoming a Ranger. Was intentionally made a female Red Ranger due to the fact that the only other two weren't the full-time leaders for their seasons, and was also made an African-American female Red Ranger as an added diversity bonus. In Season 2, she came out as asexual.

  • Heroic BSoD: Suffers one when the other Rangers have their souls sucked out by the Ammit Lightless, though it's made worse by the timing, as it occurred right after Patrick lost his eyesight, which she blamed herself for. Manages to recover, though, and bring the others back.
  • Playing with Fire: Channels fire as her element.
  • Queer Establishing Moment: Came out to Drayden in Season 2. She elaborates as follows:
"...I don't like the idea of kissing guys. Or girls. Or anything, for that matter. I mean, a peck on the cheek or forehead is one thing, but the idea of making out or the like is just awkward and wrong to me. Hugs would probably be nice, but I get that enough from my friends anyway. Holding hands...well, maybe that'd be okay, but I'd definitely need it back after a while. Maybe even cuddling. I mean, I see Layla and Faye do it and it looks nice. And while I could see myself maybe one day wanting a baby, making one would probably feel less like an enjoyable experience for me and more like a chore."

Patrick "Pat" O'Donnell / Green Gaia Ranger

"We're not done yet! Pick up your sword and let's finish this!"

Probably the most badass of the team, as well as the most gifted swordsman, using finesse and a little bit of luck. He's also highly improvisational, constantly coming up with new tricks and using the environment to his advantage. You can practically hear 'Go Green Ranger Go' in the back of your mind when you're reading his fight scenes. He's skilled in fencing and parkour, and is knowledgeable in meteorology and geology, as they are his parents' professions.

  • Blind Weaponmaster: Following Revelations of Light and Darkness. Due to previous blindfold training, and a special power to see mental images of anything the wind touches, this hasn't slowed him down one bit.
  • Blow You Away: Channels wind as his element.
  • Combat Parkour: Uses this A LOT.
  • Dating Catwoman: Assuming he and Darkea DO have a thing going, that is.
  • Handicapped Badass: Lost the use of his eyes, but due to training and unique wind powers, he hasn't missed a beat since then.
  • Our Gryphons Are Different: The Green Hippogriff Gaia Zord.
  • Ship Tease: Currently has two going at the same time with Madilyn and Darkea.
  • The Lancer: Quite literally, actually, since he wields a giant lance.
  • Unflinching Walk: Patrick slices the Skeleton Lightless in half and turns his back to him, sheathing his sword as his opponent explodes behind him.
  • Wind Is Green: Channels wind as his element.

Layla Bluestone / Blue Gaia Ranger

"Didn't anyone ever tell you not to kick a lady there?! Especially not a lady who beats suckers on Halo for a hobby!"

The tech geek of the group, Madilyn's little sister, and usually the one with the most character development. Has learned the intricacies of Gaian technology rather quickly, leading to her building new weapons and equipment for the team. She's also physically the weakest of the group, usually opting to keep opponents at a distance. Fortunate for her, she's also a skilled marksman. Was outed as a lesbian in the sixth chapter, and got a Dryad girlfriend in the eighth chapter.

  • Badass Bookworm: She DOES carry a giant cannon around. Granted, she had a hard time with fights early on, but she's toughened up since then.
  • Discount Lesbians: Averted. Layla very clearly likes girls who are completely human, as proven when she subconsciously hit on Nikki.
  • Fake Memories: In the seventeenth chapter, it's revealed that Layla's memories are fake, following an accident with magical flames that mixed her memories up with Madilyn's real sister's, who died horribly in a fire, along with Madilyn's parents.
  • Interspecies Romance: Is dating Faye, a Dryad.
  • Kraken and Leviathan: The Blue Leviathan Gaia Zord.
  • Making a Splash: Channels water as her element.
  • Sibling Team: With Madilyn. Even referred to themselves as the 'Storm Sisters' before laying a most epic of beat-downs on the Efreet Lightless.
  • The Smart Girl
  • Water Is Blue: Channels water as her element.

Dirk Slater / Orange Gaia Ranger

"NEVER! USE! MY! FAMILY! AGAIN!"

The muscle of the group, having both been raised on a farm where he had to work hard, and having taken up wrestling in high school. While he's occasionally the source of comedic relief, he also has a much more sensitive side to him, angered to the point of vengeance at the idea of villains using family against someone, especially his own.

  • The Berserker: Pretty much annihilated the Doppelganger Lightless for trying to trick him by disguising itself as Dirk's sister.
  • Butt-Monkey: Dirk unfortunately has a tendency for bad things to happen to him in early Season 1, between having the image of his family used against him, his mind being read to obtain tactical information, and being inadvertently rejected in favour of Layla.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Channels earth as his element.
  • Dude, She's A Lesbian: Dirk once tried to hit on Faye, thinking she was interested, only to learn that she was actually enamoured with Layla. Naturally, this being Dirk, this is Played for Laughs.
  • Green Thumb: He occasionally channels plants with the Root Crystal.
  • Meta Guy: Usually is the one to notice certain long-lasting Power Rangers tropes long before the rest of the team, much to their embarrassment.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: After spending a few chapters being angry about what happened with the Doppelganger, Dirk finally lets go of his anger in the final part of Indigo Nightmare, and is able to be his normal self again.

Madilyn 'Mad' Bluestone / Violet Gaia Ranger

"Are you kidding me?! We're Power Rangers?! BEST DAY EVER!"

Layla's older sister. She brought the group together as a crystallography club at college. Oftentimes the more chaotic fighter, usually not having a plan going into a fight, but is probably the most well-rounded. Also, despite being relatively plucky, highly optimistic, and overly energetic, she DOES have a somewhat troubled side, and is highly protective of her sister.

Jowar / Wizard Ranger

"Sometimes it's necessary to assert myself a bit."

The team's mentor, Jowar was a wise and powerful wizard...until he gave up his powers as a wizard to his child, whose mother turned out to be the enemy, and raised their child to become the Big Bad of the story. Jowar's powers are now very limited, granted through the Light Crystal, and can't call upon their full strength outside of Everbright forest. However, he DID eventually learn that he could become the Wizard Ranger, able to help fight off enemies that get too close to home, pilot a Gaia Zord if its designated Ranger is unable to do so themselves, or man the Magna Buster, a powerful cannon that emerges from the Ancient Library that blasts giant monsters or empowers Megazords.

Drayden Snyder / Indigo Gaia Ranger

"And let that be a lesson to evil hiding in the dark! From now on, the Indigo Ranger is here to take you ALL down!"

Professor Charles Snyder's son. Drayden always felt like a cheap imitation of his father, until his mind and body were merged with the spirit of Dargoon, and was lured into helping him with the promise of becoming his own man. He fought back when people started getting hurt, but alienated himself from his father and the group, thinking himself evil because of the darkness still inside him, until he realized he wasn't and officially joined the team. He combines heavy swordplay with some Muay Thai kickboxing in battle.

  • BFS / Infinity +1 Sword: The Dragon Buster. When he was possessed by Dargoon, he was able to take out giants with this weapon, and he still has yet to truly meet his match while wielding it.
  • Casting a Shadow: Channels darkness as his element.
  • Combining Mecha: Has not one but three Gaia Zords, which can combine into the Dragoon Megazord.
  • Dark Is Not Evil / The Sacred Darkness: After Drayden is freed from Dargoon, he stays away from the team and his father because he still feels darkness in him and thinks he's evil, but is made to realize that he isn't (proven by him sending his Zords to help the team), and thus he embraces his own darkness and officially joins the Rangers.
  • King of Beasts: The Black Lion Gaia Zord.
  • Noble Wolf: The White Wolf Gaia Zord.
  • Ship Tease: Admitted to having a crush on Nikki to Madilyn. In Season 2, he finally confessed this to Nikki, and while she claimed her asexuality could get in the way of anyone wanting a relationship with her, Drayden believed otherwise, and the two have started to date.
  • Sixth Ranger: Even if he wasn't the sixth to appear, he nonetheless is considered the Sixth Ranger due to Jowar not being to assist in the field much, and because the Guardian of Darkness was the sixth member of the original Guardians of Gaia.

    Friends and Allies

Faye

"Ever since I first saw you, trying to save us, I knew you were an amazing hero, with a heart of gold. Truly, you are the savior of my heart."

A teal-haired Dryad. Her people were terrorized by Blots, until the Rangers saved them. Faye was particularly impressed with Layla, and the two very quickly formed an attraction for each other, entering into a relationship while Layla was with the Dryads to heal from injuries she'd sustained. While she hasn't made too many appearances since her debut, she's nonetheless shown herself to be a competent healer for the team, and while she can be a bit nervous around the others, she still is polite and caring, helping to rally them when they need emotional support.

  • Damsel in Distress: Only in the first time she's seen, wherein she's running with her people from Venom Blots and has to be saved by the Rangers. Averted since then, though, she's been a constant source of aid for the team, be it as emotional support, a healer, or even getting into the thick of combat herself, even becoming a Ranger herself for a time.
  • Holding Hands: The first chance Faye got to be alone with Layla, she held her hand. Granted, it was to heal her, but we later learned she was quite smitten with Layla.
  • Nature Spirit: Her people tend to live in the wilderness, and while not explicitly stated, it's hinted that her healing powers come from nature itself.
  • Taking Up The Morpher: During the events of Always A Ranger, she temporarily took up the role of the Violet Gaia Ranger in Madilyn's absence.
  • The Heart: Despite being directly linked to the team due to her relationship with Layla, it's clear that she cares a great deal for the others, as evidenced when she helps Nikki snap out of her Heroic BSoD.
  • The Medic: Her people have the ability to heal various wounds, though they have limits to this ability, as shown when Faye is unable to grant Patrick his sight back.

Professor Charles Snyder

''"I know it's not all your fault, Dad, but all my life, all I've ever done is what you did. At first, it was just to make you proud of me. But after a while, I realized that every move I made, every decision, it was all just a poor imitation of everything you'd done in your life."- Drayden

An archaeologist/crystallographer who is one of the leading researchers on the possibility of multiple realities. This led to him uncovering ancient knowledge and relics relating to Gaia, and eventually resulted in him and his son, Drayden, locating the cave where the Indigo Crystal was kept. The two were then forcibly brought to Gaia through a portal. After being found by the Rangers, he's since been mostly helping Jowar out around the Ancient Library as a sort of assistant while continuing his studies.

  • Narrator All Along: The first five chapters all have narration at the very beginning, describing the legends of the old Guardians and their Zords. It isn't until the end of Guilt Is Bad For The Soul that the reader learns these were his documents.
  • Number Two: Mostly helps out around the Ancient Library, assisting Jowar and the Rangers however he can.

The Bad Guys

    Dradarius' Empire

Dradarius

"Before long into my mission to protect Gaia, I found myself as the last wizard, my comrades having all been destroyed in battle against the forces of a dark and terrible man: Dradarius, usurper of the Dark Throne, and instigator of the war thousands of years ago."- Jowar

The self-crowned Emperor of the Dark Zones. While not much is known about him personally, it IS known that, at some point, he usurped control of the darkness and took the Dark Throne for himself. He's rumoured to be so powerful and devoid of kindness that even his own daughter fears his wrath. He even used his own wife in a plan to have the last wizard of Gaia, Jowar, burned alive, and his offspring raised as a Shadowmancer.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: When he first battles the Gaia Rangers.
  • Orcus on His Throne: Up until the 'Season 1 finale', he had never actually appeared in the flesh, with only references to him and the things he had done. Once he DID, though, it ended in a supreme beatdown for the Rangers.
  • Take Over the World: His plan in a nutshell. He also takes issue with attempts to destroy Gaia, since he would have nothing left to conquer.

Walker

"Tch."

Arguably Dradarius' top Shadowmancer, and has been carrying out the bulk of the current plan to take over Gaia alongside his sister, Darkea. As of late, his primary goal has been to destroy the new Guardians of Gaia before Dradarius learns of their coming together and seeks to punish Walker for letting this happen on his watch. Was revealed to actually be Jowar's son in Revelations of Light and Darkness, and worse, having known this his whole life and still opposing him. He isn't all that skilled in combat, but can channel darkness in the form of powerful attacks if necessary.

  • Big Bad
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Darkea. No matter what they say or do to each other, they clearly care deeply for each other.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: When he becomes the Wyvern Lightless, his voice becomes much deeper.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: When he becomes the Wyvern Lightless.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Revealed to the Rangers in 'Revelations of Light and Darkness' that he's really Jowar's son.
  • Magic Staff: The Dark Staff of the Wyvern.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Said word for word when he uses his staff on monsters to make them into giants.
  • One-Winged Angel: In the final chapter of 'Season 1', Walker transforms himself into the Wyvern Lightless by downing some Ebony Venom, absorbing a Lightless figure, and merging with his staff. He is easily the most powerful opponent the Rangers had fought up until that point.
  • Our Dragons Are Different
  • Tyke Bomb

Darkea

"They call me Darkea. My brother Walker sends his best wishes."

Walker's sister and Dradarius' daughter. While her skills with Shadowmancy aren't that great, she has her other skills, namely that she's a far better fighter than Walker. As such, she regularly accompanies Blots and Lightless during attacks on cities. She tends to pair off against Patrick in combat with the Rangers.

Dargoon

"Oh, I'm sorry, you just took so long showing off, I got a little bored, and then I got sleepy."

One of Dradarius' Shadowmancers who fought for his forces thousands of years ago. He was too difficult to control, though, and sought to destroy Gaia as opposed to take it over, putting him at odds with his own allies. It was revealed that he possessed the original Guardian of Darkness and forced the other Guardians to destroy him, but his curse remained with the Dragon Crystal. As such, he went on to possess Drayden when he came across the crystal and tried to destroy Gaia once again. Ultimately, the Gaia Rangers freed Drayden from Dargoon's control and destroyed him using the Gaia Megazord Gaiamax Staff's Gaiamax Finish.

  • Animated Armor: After being split from Drayden, Dargoon becomes a giant-sized version of his armor.
  • BFS / Infinity +1 Sword: The Dragon Buster.
  • Enemy WithinEnemy Without: Took control of Drayden's body, using him for his own purposes. After being split from Drayden, though, he was reformed as a giant-sized version of his armor.
  • King of Beasts: The Black Lion Gaia Zord.
  • Noble Wolf: The White Wolf Gaia Zord.

Arc

"How many Angels were lost because of your treachery?!" "...Enough. No more, no less."- Jowar and Arc

One of Dradarius' last remaining Dark Generals. He's a literal Fallen Angel. It's hinted that his defection to Dradarius' side led to the deaths of many of his fellow Angels. Despite such a colossal show of betrayal, his loyalty to Dradarius is so fierce that he looks down on those who don't show him the same.

Spine

"When I win Dradarius' war for him, the profits I'll receive will be astronomically greater than mere weapon designers'!"

One of Dradarius' last remaining Dark Generals. He used to try to rule over the Metallurk tribe of Dwarves, but since decided to aid Dradarius more directly. He can craft whole new Lightless figurines.

    Blots

The Blots

"The Blots are just about everywhere, and they'll attack anything that moves and isn't their own, especially if someone were to send for them."- Walker

Creatures of pure darkness, granted form by Shadowmancers, and given only given enough instinct to destroy anything that isn't one of them and to obey Shadowmancers. Thus, they're generally employed as foot soldiers for Dradarius. They can emerge from anywhere that shadows are cast, and while they possess a fairly obvious weak point, making them easy to take out, they nonetheless represent a huge threat, as they are apparently near-infinite in numbers. Physically, they "are largely inspired by the Neoshadow Heartless, except without the squiggly lines or antennae, and with a single red oval shaped eye in the centre of their faces instead of two yellow eyes." Their claws can also be fired as projectiles, which will always regenerate. Can be made to grow into Giant Blots.

  • Attack Its Weak Point: While the single red eye might be threatening, it's also their weak spot. One good hit, and they go down easily.
  • Mooks
  • No Mouth: And yet, they still make growling noises. You figure it out.
  • Zerg Rush: Their usual method of attacking enemies.

Venom Blots

"Your birth has inspired me. You will be the key to creating a more powerful army than Gaia has ever seen...!"- Walker, to Sphantis.

A more powerful form of Blot, created by using the same Ebony Venom that assisted in the creation of Sphantis. In their new form, they're less lanky, have two purple eyes instead one red one, possess sharper claws, and have eggplant-coloured lines running across their bodies. They're also MUCH stronger, have better reaction time, and possess better fighting prowess than the ordinary Blot, as in their first test run, a dozen Venom Blots proved a match for the Rangers, whereas they'd been cutting down usual Blots several times that number with ease. While the Rangers have managed to grow stronger and counter this threat, they still remain legitimate threats to the team, especially with the loss of their former weak spot. Can be made to grow into Giant Venom Blots.

Mecha Blots

"Man, what's going on with the Blots? They're all hi-tech now."- Dirk

An upgraded Venom Blot with advanced armour, a beam shield, a hand blaster, and more. They were created by the Dwarves of Metallurk, who are in league with Dradarius, as per the request of Walker. Like the Venom Blots before them, a dozen Mecha Blots easily schooled the Rangers at first. However, their advanced technology and improved power comes at a cost: The tubes connecting the various armour components also draw Ebony Venom from the Mecha Blots' bodies, so cutting the tubes will cause them to lose severe amounts of strength. Unlike the other forms of Blots, Mecha Blots can't grow into giants. Instead, when destroyed, they create a whole new kind of Blot...

Blob Blots

"Oh man, I can't believe we were almost blob bait!"- Dirk

Giant blob-like Blots created when Mecha Blots are destroyed. A Blob Blot appears as "a giant, blubbery, humanoid glob of chemicals", and the more Mecha Blots that were destroyed, the more powerful the resulting Blob Blot will be. It can reshape itself into a giant ball that rolls over enemies, and takes on a more living pool of slime appearance that can spray acid on foes and sap their energy. However, Blob Blots are typically a bit slow. As such, they need to be attacked hard and fast, and preferably at a distance.

    The Lightless

The Lightless As A Whole

The Minotaur Lightless

The first Lightless the team had to battle, after it attacked a Kentauride settlement. Was destroyed by a group attack from the Gaia Zords.

The Werelion Lightless

Was summoned to attack a village of Night Elf runaways. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord's Storm Punch.

The Ant Lightless

Was created by Darkea and attacked a town. Despite being a simple insect, it was actually super strong...until its mandibles were blown off. Was destroyed by the Gaia Blaster.

  • Strong Ants: Could toss the Gaia Megazord around like a toy.
The writer DOES acknowledge in the Author's Notes for that chapter that "the reason ants can lift several times their own weight actually has more to do with the Square/Cube Law that allows them this feat BECAUSE they're so small. However, for the purposes of this story, the dark energy the Ant Lightless was filled with allowed it to bypass this law, effectively granting it such strength despite its size. The reason for keeping it an Ant Lightless is for the symbolism behind it. Also, this is Power Rangers, where spandex can apparently prevent someone from being sliced in half, instead sending sparks off the person's body. Logic got tossed out the window with the first episode."

The Satori Lightless

Was called forth by Walker. Used telepathy to copy his memory of the Rangers' powers, attacks, arsenal, and strategies in order to destroy them. And he would've gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for that chaotic Violet Ranger. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Turtle Shield's Turtle Typhoon.

The Frog Lightless

Was produced by Darkea to split up Layla and Madilyn and battle Layla alone. Unfortunate for it, Layla was able to exploit its weak point to free Madilyn. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord's Storm Punch.

  • Attack Its Weak Point: The bubble tattoo on the end of its tongue prevents it from blowing bubbles and harmlessly evaporates the pre-existing ones, not to mention the fact that it does major damage.
  • Bubble Gun: Spits bubbles that trap targets inside. People can only last inside for a few minutes before they run out of air.

The Doppelganger Lightless

Was spawned by Walker. Could change its form to reflect the hopes and desires of anyone he wants. It first tried to trick Dirk by appearing as his sister and getting him to unknowingly enter the Well of Despair, but this failed. It then turned itself and four Blots into copies of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers to beat the Gaia Rangers, but this ultimately failed as well. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Kitsune Bow's Final Flare.

  • I Never Told You Her Name: When the Doppelganger Lightless assumes the form of Dirk's sister, 'she' accidently says Nikki's name while referencing Dirk's friends, even though she should have no idea who Nikki is, thus giving 'herself' away.
  • Shapeshifting: The Doppelganger Lightless, which can change its shape and size, and can peer into the minds of its opponent to pick the perfect form to take, just to screw with them.

The Skeleton Lightless

Was engineered by Walker to lure the Rangers out for a fight. Managed to best them in a fight until it underestimated Patrick's skill and will to win. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Kitsune Bow's Final Flare.

The Werewolf Lightless

Was one of two Lightless created by Walker and Darkea to lead the attack on the Ancient Library. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Turtle Shield, after it had received a massive power increase from the Magna Buster.

The Black Dog Lightless

Was one of two Lightless created by Walker and Darkea to lead the attack on the Ancient Library. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Turtle Shield, after it had received a massive power increase from the Magna Buster.

The Orthrus Lightless

The combined form of the Werewolf and Black Dog Lightless. It had the power and abilities of both. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Unicorn Sword's Crescent Cutter.

  • Fusion Dance: Created from the remains of the Werewolf and Black Dog Lightless.

The Ammit Lightless

Was created by Darkea to steal the souls of the Rangers. It stole four of them, but Nikki managed to return the souls of her friends. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Sword and Shield's Full Moon Break.

The Griffin Lightless

Summoned by Walker to kidnap Professor Snyder. Could create black gusts of wind that messed with Patrick's ability to see all the wind touched. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Bow and Sword's Silver Arrow.

The Liger Lightless

Was one of two Lightless created by Walker and Darkea to attack Dargoon and buy the Rangers time. Both were ultimately destroyed rather easily by the Dragon Buster. It later made a cameo in a dream during Season 2 along with the Panther Lightless.

The Panther Lightless

Was one of two Lightless created by Walker and Darkea to attack Dargoon and buy the Rangers time. Both were ultimately destroyed rather easily by the Dragon Buster. It later made a cameo in a dream during Season 2 along with the Liger Lightless.

The Efreet Lightless

Was called forth by Darkea to destroy the Rangers. Could harness various forms of fire, of particular note being the cerulean flames that could alter a person's mind and memories. Was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Double Fangs' Triplex Roar.

The Bulltaur Lightless

Technically never appeared, though in the alternate reality of Hogosha Sentai Gaianger, there was a Bulltaur Daemon, with the Daemons appearing very similar to the Lightless, so it stands to reason there exists a Bulltaur Lightless. Later debuted proper in Season 2.

The Plesio Lightless

Was created by Walker to destroy the island Fire Zone. Even without being made a giant, it stood at ten feet tall. Was destroyed by the Dragonforce Megazord.

  • The Berserker: Darkea didn't want to use it at first because of how powerful and reckless it is in a fight, annihilating everything in its path.

The Mummy Lightless

Was created by Spine to draw Jowar out and eliminate him. Its bandages were near-invulnerable, and could be use to smack and ensnare the Rangers, or take away their weapons. However, its body underneath the bandages was incredibly weak. It was destroyed by the Gaia Megazord Gaiamax Staff's Gaiamax Finish.

  • Mummy Wrap: Not only does it use this on the Rangers, but it uses this on their weapons as well as a means of taking them away and then binding them to itself.

The Undertaker Lightless

Was created by Spine to resurrect a number of defeated Lightless and attack a village all at once. It was nigh-invincible, able to pummel the Rangers and their Zords with ease, but its power came from the urn it carried, and once the urn was destroyed, it was severely weakened. It was destroyed by the Dragonforce Megazord's Multi-mental Meteor.
