Duncan and his allies

    Duncan Vizla

Duncan "the Black Kaiser" Vizla

Portrayed by: Mads Mikkelsen

A deadly and infamous assassin due to retire and receive a very generous pension from his employers, if he can live long enough to collect it that is.

  • Affluent Ascetic: He's made enough money that he can give $200,000 to an anonymous trust once a year, yet he lives in a simple, albeit expensive cabin, and doesn't flaunt his wealth.
  • The Atoner: Out of guilt for killing her family in an assassination, Vizla paid for Camille's education.
  • Cold Sniper: Figuratively, and a bit literally, as he was doing it in a snowy night. He uses Facundo's sniper rifle to kill the other A-Team members in his cabin. Demonstrates a bit of Improbable Aiming Skils too, in that he was able to shoot Hilde through his refrigerator by seeing her breath on his thermal scope.
  • The Dreaded: Well, taking away the fact he is apparently scary enough to earn a nickname like "The Black Kaiser," Duncan is feared among Blut's mooks to the point where they would rather quit and then meekly walk away, telling him where their boss is, than to actually protect said boss.
  • Eyepatch of Power: He gains this after recovering from his torture and escape.
  • Eye Scream: He is stabbed in the eye by Blut because he broke his favourite knife. Never mind that it was Blut himself that broke his favourite knife and that he broke it while stabbing Duncan over and over again.
  • Handicapped Badass: Even after losing his eye, Duncan still shows that he is the best assassin in the world.
  • Made of Iron: Being tortured for three days doesn't stop him from being able to plow his way through the grunts of Damocles.
  • No Social Skills: In normal conversation, Duncan comes off as awkward and somewhat lost.
  • Nominal Hero: As Jazmin puts it "[he's] not a good guy, but [he's] doing a good thing".
  • Not So Above It All: When he's not being a terrifying killing machine, Duncan can be found blowing birthday balloons by himself to celebrate his birthday, or reading up on how to take care of his pets.
  • One-Man Army: He's just one man, but is capable of fighting his way through dozens of Mooks even after being tortured.
  • Red Baron: His infamy has earned him the nickname the "Black Kaiser" in the assassin world.
  • Replacement Goldfish: Gets a pair after he accidentally shoots his dog.
  • Retired Monster: Was one of the most deadly assassins in the world, but now he just wants to retire.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: He suffers from clear PTSD from the horrible things he had to do in his line of work.

    Camille

Camille

Portrayed by: Vanessa Hudgens

Duncan's neighbor, whom he slowly becomes friends with. It is later revealed that she is the sole surviving daughter of a family whom Duncan had murdered and that she had been looking for him in order to exact revenge.

  • Damsel in Distress: Gets kidnapped by Damocles and drugged after Duncan kills the A-Team.
  • I'm Not Afraid of You: She wanted to kill Duncan for what he did to her family, but first she wanted him to know that she wasn't afraid of him anymore.
  • Nervous Wreck: She is easily startled by loud noises, from doorbells to people slamming things next to her. It turns out that Camille has a really good reason to be so easily scared, as the only thing she sees when she closes her eyes is her family's killer: Duncan.
  • Sole Survivor: She was the only member of her family who wasn't killed by Vizla in the past.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's very difficult to discuss Camille's importance to the story beyond being a damsel in distress for the protagonist to rescue.

    Jasmine

Jasmine

An old lover of Duncan's, who late in film supplies him with weapons so he can go after Damocles.

  • Arms Dealer: She's the one who supplies Duncan with turrets to help him fend off Damocles' men.

Damocles

    Mr. Blut

Mr. Blut

Portrayed by: Matt Lucas

The head of Damocles Industries, an organization of assassins. With his company being eyed for a buyout, Blut seeks to kill off his retired assassins so he can collect their pensions and use them to pay off his company's expenditures to make Damocles seem more attractive for his buyers.

  • 0% Approval Rating: Nobody in the movie really seems fond of him, including his own employees. Even his Mooks abandon him at the end.
  • Bad Boss: The man was willing to kill his employees when they were due for retirement in order to save more money.
  • Bald of Evil: His spiky hair is actually just a wig he wears.
  • Big Bad: He's the one sending the assassins after Duncan, all so he can collect his pension to increase his company's worth.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Tortures Vizla for three days after he captures him.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Runs his Murder, Inc. like one of these. He's only concerned with making money and is willing to kill his retired employees if it means making more.
  • Fat Bastard: Along with being overly greedy, he's a bit of a chubby fellow.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Had he not gone after the Black Kaiser, he might not have seen his A-Team of assassins wiped out and his head removed from his body.
  • Moral Myopia: Declares It's Personal when Vizla kills Hilde, even though Vizla was defending himself and how Blut was the one trying to kill him.
  • Non-Action Big Bad: Despite running an organization of assassins, Blut isn't someone who's trained for combat. It only takes a few seconds for Vizla to cut his head off.
  • Off with His Head!: Dies when Vizla swiftly decapitates him and chucks his head out a window.
  • Sword and Gun: At the end of the film, he tries to face off against Vizla with a sword in one hand and a gun in the other. It goes... quite poorly.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Decides to save a few million dollars by killing off his retired assassins, including his most deadly retired assassin. It's safe to say it doesn't go well.
  • We Have Reserves: Outright tells his A-Team that they can be replaced if they fail.

    Vivian

Vivian

Portrayed by: Katheryn Winnick

A high-ranking member of Damocles, Vivian is the one who coordinates the organization's assassins and their assignments.

  • Ambiguously Bi: Slept with both Vizla and Porter, though also seems to enjoy the services of female strippers.
  • The Handler: Vivian's role within Damocles is to give assignments to the assassins of the organization and monitors their progress.
  • Kinda Busy Here: A Running Gag involves her getting phone calls when she's busy with other activities.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Swears in almost every scene she's in.
  • Only Sane Woman: The only one in Damocles who realized going after Vizla wasn't a good idea and advocated cutting their losses when the situation gets out of hand.
  • Professional Killer: Despite filling a middle management role at Damocles, Vivian is also an active asset, and good enough that Vizla questions why she doesn't just take care of the Belarus job herself.
  • Wig, Dress, Accent: Wears a different wig and outfit in almost every scene she's in.

    The A-Team

The A-Team (Hilde, Sindy, Facundo, Karl and Alexei)

Portrayed by: Fei Ren, Ruby O. Fee, Anthony Grant, Robert Maillet and Josh Cruddas

A team of the most skilled and deadly assassins of Damocles.

  • Asshole Victims: Every last one of them, aside from unnecessary killing random bystanders, murdering Vizla's banker, and kidnapping Camille? Their deaths are certainly well-deserved.
  • Beard of Evil: The three male members (Alexei, Facundo and Karl) all have thick beards.
  • The Big Guy: Karl, who stands 6'11".
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: The three men: Karl (big), Facundo (thin) and Alexei (short).
  • Cluster F-Bomb: They swear a lot.
  • Cold Sniper: While the rest of the A-Team gets in close, Facundo stays behind and snipes his targets from a distance.
  • Country Matters: Karl calls Vizla this before he dies.
  • Dark Action Girl: Hilde, who is one of Damocles' top assassins. Sindy is a downplayed example.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: They are The Heavy for most of the story and are presented as equals to Vizla. Vizla puts them in their place and kills all but Alexei by the halfway mark of the film, leaving Blut, Vivian, and a handful of Mooks to take out Vizla themselves.
  • The Dragon: Hilde to Blut, in addition to being his "girlfriend". She appears to lead his A-Team of assassins and is the one seen by his side the most.
  • The Driver: Karl's task is driving whatever getaway vehicle the A-Team needs: car, helicopter, you name it.
  • Everything's Sparkly with Jewelry: With Sindy at least, though the rest get this as well.
  • Evil Redhead: Alexei.
  • Hidden Depths: For the bulk of their screen-time the A-Team appear to be nothing but thugs solving every problem with violence. However, when this yields them no results they actually hunker down and start going over all the papers they got from Vizla's accountant and are able to spot a paperwork trail to Vizla's actual location.
  • Honey Trap: Sindy's role in the A-Team is to go in and seduce targets to get them to lower their guard so the rest of the A-Team can move in for the kill.
  • Improvised Weapon: Alexei is introduced throwing a barbell at their target.
  • Kick the Dog: Them coldly murdering Vizla's banker friend, kidnapping Camille, murdering people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The list goes on.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: The first of Vizla's tenants they killed tried to rape Sindy. That earns him a bullet in the head from Hilde.
  • Psychopathic Woman Child: Despite her overt sexuality and violent tendencies, Sindy displays an extremely infantile behavior throughout most of the film.
  • Smug Snake: Most of them, but Hilde in particular.
  • Sole Survivor: Alexei is this as he's the only survivor of the attempted assassination on Vizla. He still dies later during the turret scene.
  • Two Girls to a Team: The A-Team's lineup consists of three guys and two girls. Balanced out by the fact that one of the girls, Hilde, is the leader.
  • Undignified Death: Sindy dies after just having sex with Duncan when Facundo shoots her by mistake and then Duncan cleaves her forehead, leaving her lying naked on the ground.
