Of Men and Titans Book I & II

     Major Characters

Savior

Savior is a Tiste Longa, Protectors of the Multiverse and Servants of Jrova (Known as God in this universe), Tiste Longa are Known as Angels in this universe. Savior is the known to and be and accepted by the main players to be strongest, although her interactions with them were limited.

She is also the first named character to appear on the roleplay, being the one to start the events of the first book, thus beginning the story of OM&T.

  • Decapitation Required: As per norm for all Tistes, she can only be killed via decapitation, which is extremely hard due to her winning the superpower lottery.
  • Emotionless Girl: Is said to be one, but is more of an informed attribute, since most of her actions seem to be fueled by an emotion, mostly anger.
  • Our Angels Are Different: While everyone expects an angel to be nice, non-aggressive, but slightly detached with mortal afflictions...... Savior is the complete opposite of that, as she would prefer breaking bones and cussing at enemies.
  • Superpower Lottery: Compared to other characters that has appeared in the roleplay, she has the most, with an outstanding twenty-two listed abilities. Also stated to be the strongest angel and is the second command of God. It got to the point, that the others limited the amount of powers a single character can have. Among her abilities are:

Robert Reagan

Robert is the Order's first, and more probably only Super Soldier, injected with the Super Soldier Serum and trained voluntary from the age of ten. He never found Supers as at threat, he always cared about everyone and commonly had stood up to school yard bullies when no one else would despite his stature. His parents died directly before his tenth birthday, upon his birthday he was contacted by a Special group of the military about a SS Program. Thus began Robert's quest as a Hero whether combating his own morals or corporeal foes.

  • Child Soldier: Became a Super-Soldier at an early age. Although, in later works that he appears in, the age has been retconned.
  • Determinator: Will not stop for anything, despite being wounded to see the girl he wants to talk to.

Terra Wilkins

Terra Naoi (Maiden, Wilkins) is a super native to the forests of West Virginia. She resided in Manns Harbor since she was twelve years of age under the care of an elderly woman named Bessie. Under Bessie's care Terra learned how to distract her mind, and developed the kind personality she had lost with in years of self exile. Terra would have continued to live in Manns Harbor, hiding, had she not got her self caught up in more then unusual circumstances.

After the events of Book One she moved away from Manns Harbor to the community of Cold Harbor inorder to begin anew, upon learning of her parents death. She ended up fleeing the city via teleportation, and ending up in Japan where she continued to recieve help, and eventually married Takashi Naoi.

Alexandra Peyton

Alexandra "Alex" Peyton-Tamaru is an altered-human and pyromancer born and raised in Manns Harbor. She is unaligned and attempts to live out her life while hiding her powers; however, this hiding of her abilities often causes her to push people away and preach government dogma that she doesn't fully believe. Though the Order has since fallen she continues to see her powers as evil and a curse. She currently is pregnant and residing in Japan with her husband Hiro Tamaru and infant son, Martin Tamuru. Hiro and Alexandra have also adopted Rika Nagato (now Nagato-Tamuru) as a daughter. She refuses to use her powers or identify as a metahuman, and she would like to see full integration of metahumans into society as normal people and abilities are not used unless absolutely necessary for they constitute an unfair advantage.

Alexandra is the one that connects all characters one way or another in the first book.

  • In-Series Nickname: Her first name is usually shortened to "Alex" and is typically called that by everyone that knows her.
  • Playing with Fire: Her ability is to control flames, but overusing it can lead to her fainting.

Zeus One

Zeus is quite compassionate, often demonstrating a surprising concern for others. Despite this he is equally willing to kill anyone who stands in the way of his goal, especially anyone he perceives as evil. His appearance can be what ever he desires it to be, due to his ability to shapeshift.

Hiro Tamaru

He's talkative and friendly, expressing his current emotions and feelings out loud, even if nobody cares. Hiro's also impatient when it comes to most thing, often rushing them without a plan. Willing to fight if challenged, not the one to give up easily. He can be considered the medic of his group, having extensive medical knowledge and ready to put his life on the line to save someone. He is the most active the most active Tamaru Family member, going around the world and having numerous adventures.

  • Bottomless Magazines: Averted. Once the gun he creates runs out of ammunition, he throws it away and creates another one to continue fighting.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Over the nine year period after Book II, when he returns in KGA, it is revealed early on that he lost his powers.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: Hiro certainly thought so when he had a standoff with Damien.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: His main ability, but only limited to the guns and the like, can be used to create a mismatched firearms.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gets one from Alex, after he shoots Anisha when the latter tried to neutralize Alex, feeling that she was a liability to the survival of the group.

Takashi Naoi

Takashi is the blade-creating super who has gone through a lot of hardships, who in turn became less open to people. He tends to stutter around new people, feeling anxious that he'll have to use his powers to end the conversation. This changes during the second book, where he has been more comfortable, as there is no longer any threat of being opppressed. Takashi is more about diplomacy rather than aggressive, the opposite of his cousin.

  • Ascended Extra: Was suppose to be a supporting character for Hiro, but became come upon the next installment of OM&T, he rose to the same status of main character as Hiro.
  • Barehanded Blade Block: Does in the Vanishing, were he blocks a strike from tsundere Hisako.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Was forced to hide in a concealed spot, while Order operatives murder first murder his mother, then moving onto his father. He then incapacitated all of the soldiers in a flash.
  • Disappeared Dad: Becomes one by the time of KGA, as he has been declared dead by the government after he disappeared from the hospital.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Arguably the most nices out of the three in his group, but is more than willing to fight if he deems it necessary.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Get's this reaction when he nearly kills the man who murdered his father as a kid, he then runs away.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: Of the bladed weapons variety, Takashi can create any type of bladed weapons at the small price of using up his energy. Although his preferred weapon is a wooden katana.
  • Technical Pacifist: Does not want to kill, nor has he killed someone, but has no qualms attacking with a wooden sword that may break bones or indirectly cause death.
  • Wooden Katanas Are Even Better: His main method using his powers, as it less likely to cause lethal strikes than a steel Katana, but that does not stop him from using one.

Damien Somerfield

With his real name unknown, 'Damien Somerfield' is the chosen handle of a boy with a mysterious past. Seemingly of English origin, he has the appearance of a ten year old child though in actuality is over five centuries old ever since his exposure to an alchemical mutagen that altered his biology combined with having been implanted with a shard of a Tiste Hora's soul that turned him into a human immortal though keeping him physically bound to his original child body. Over the centuries he has evolved from a naive and curious person into a more astute and calculative one. He has great difficulties in establishing meaningful friendships or forming genuine trust mostly due to having lost loved ones in the past or being betrayed by those he did place his trust in. Despite this he is show to genuinely care for a few individuals, the prime example being Salvia, along with others such as his step sibling Alfred whom he loves as a brother; Jessica of whom he is overprotective like a sister; and the Evans siblings whose welfare he does take a special interest in. However he isn't above using allies as pawns to help advance his own plans, even willing to endanger the lives of those he isn't particularly close to.

While he regards himself as evil, he is in fact more closer to being a neutrally aligned character. In Book II he does show a somewhat misanthropic attitude when commenting on the chaotic nature of man. After a close shave with death in Book III he does start to regret some of his morally objectionable deeds from the past and seeks to atone for some of them, although shows a further refection of innate cynicism with his belief that no matter what amends he may make he cannot escape damnation, something which he both fears yet accepts. Currently akin to being considered an antihero.

  • The Atoner: Damien does seem to feel remorse over his amoral actions towards the end of Book III and resolves to atone for his wrongdoings however acknowledges that he may never truly absolve himself from Hell. Eventually he realises that suffering for his past doesn't change anything and simply strives to live the best life he can.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Applied as his primary tactic during combat, where he makes up for his lack of strength by figuring out the mechanics behind his opponent's attacks in order to take advantage of an apparent weak spot, as well psychologically evaluating them for similar exploitation.
  • Characterization Marches On: Compared to his debut in Book II through to Book III and to ANAE/DK he has become more introspective of himself and considerate of those around him, gradually evolving mentally from a vindictive Creepy Child to someone more mature and humane.
  • Defective Detective: Despite having demonstrated himself to be deductive genius, Damien tends to only objectively analyze other individuals and finds it difficult to understand them on a certain emotional level, causing him to unintentionally act insensitive at times. This was demonstrated twice in ANAE when he deduced a waiter was a former baseball player with a promising career whose girlfriend was having an affair with his own father, as well as deducting the physical and psychological nature of the motor accident that Shiloh was involved in, with no regard that he was treading into emotionally sensitive areas. Although he later tried to apologize for this.
  • Distressed Dude: Happens to Damien a few times most noticeably towards the end of the Mosley Revival Arc when he is helplessly subdued by Requiem and relies on Jessica to save him even though he tries to stop her from doing so out of fear of her own safety.
  • Immortal Immaturity: Despite being over 500 years old is stuck inside a biologically 10 year old body and loves watching cartoons and eating childish treats.
  • It's All My Fault: Damien suffers from massive guilt over Mitchell's comatose state and blames himself for bringing distress to his siblings as well as being unable to save him from an enemy who was originally pursuing Damien. During a hallucination at the Red King's mansion he has a surreal vision of fighting the Masked Man (Mitchell's final opponent before succumbing to a coma from his injuries) where his face is initially revealed as as Damien's own, reflecting his inner turmoil over the incident in which he evidently believes that in a way he was the foe behind the mask and responsible for Mitchell's condition. The vision later distorts into the Masked Man developing three heads reflecting the Evans siblings who taunt and blame for tearing their family apart.

    • Its even worse with his guilt about Alfred who has lost control of his powers and might get killed for it. After trying to deny his responsibility he changes his stance when it appears his immortality is fading, prompting him to confront Alfred in what he thought would be the last act of his life. He would have accepted the blame for Alfred's original death but realizes that his brother made his own subsequent choices into evil and in the end the two reconcile.

  • Journey to the Center of the Mind: Happens to Damien briefly towards the end of Book III when he battles Noire over his guilt surrounding Alfred's first 'death'.
  • Power Loss Makes You Strong: Happens to Damien when he loses his immortal healing powers he becomes far more vulnerable. The situation is made worse when one of his most powerful enemies seeks to kill him, forcing Damien to overcome the odds and come into better terms with himself. After confronting a harrowing mental trial he regains his immortality.
  • And I Must Scream: Happens to Damien in Book III after Noire forces him to relive Alphie's traumatic memories.
  • Not Allowed to Grow Up: Damien remains biologically a 10 year old child despite chronologically being over five centuries old, though this is justified as being a side effect of his powers.
  • Shades of Conflict: Damien is often morally conflicted about the decisions he makes, committing acts of both good and evil, this becomes more apparent in Book III when there is more balance between both sides of his actions. His alignment often shifts between various angles of neutrality.
  • Sherlock Scan: Damien briefly uses this for the first time in the beginning of Book III but uses it far more prominently in ANAE and its continuation in DK.
  • You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry!: Damien usually maintains a relatively calm and cheerful composure of a typical 10 year old, however is willing to act cold and ruthlessly when the situation calls for it and exhibits a near demonic rage when pushed over to the edge.

Wilson Wilkins

Wilson Wilkins is the leader of an organization known as the Path , he goes by the alias of Magus. Brother to Terra he blames himself for her death and the Order for the death of his family.

  • Big Bad: Was this for the Path Arc in Book II, but in the end turns out that Micheal the former leader was alive all-along and manipulated Wilson into doing his plans about the Path.
  • Beneath the Mask: The personality of Magus, the charismatic and forceful revolutionary, is different from Wilson, a charming yet kind man.
  • Cult of Personality: He had one of sorts when with the Path.
  • Long-Lost Relative: He is this with Terra, and they only met recently.

An emotionless girl who has wandered for years to look for clues about herself. Eiko Naoi

Eiko is the fraternal twin of Takashi, who was sent to live with her Mother's parents in one of the most secluded area of Japan, to teach her the principles of Archery, this was due to her manifesting her ability to create spirital bows at the young age of six. She was saddened by the death of her parents when she heard the news, but she continued to train, honoring her parents instructions. While about 30% stayed in Japan, the rest scattered themselves across the world.

  • Child Soldier: Fights in the liberation of Japan when he was just fourteen.

Rei/Rika Sato

She is a curious fellow and tends to entertain herself by possessing another person into committing mischievous acts they normally wouldn't do or in a more serious act that may cause death in another person. Rei also is a kind soul who often helps those who are deathly depressed, sometimes to a point where they agree to merge with her in an attempt to have her 'rub off on them' and she also doesn't mind possessing others to give her or another person and advantage in a battle. Her political opinions lean towards equality to all living beings that 'can stand on two people and have a purpose to society' then stands by that quote.
