Retrieval Team #22

     Jens Lyndelle

Jens Lyndelle

Played by: Brian "Murph" Murphy

Race: High Elf
Class: Bard (College of Swords)

Erotic sword dancer and the infamous "Prince Pricker." Jens Lyndelle is the de facto leader of Retrieval Team 22 and primary income holder of the team's shared apartment (given he's the only one who pays rent).

Son of the late renowned duelist Laslik Lyndelle, who was beheaded after taking his last bow during the end of a match, Jens now hunts for his father's killer while also trying to be as rich as possible working for the Benefactor's company of adventurers.

And for those asking, his Trinstagram is @Jenslyndelleofficial, not @Jenslyndellecomedy.

  • Big Brother Bully: Jens at first resented the fact that his mother re-married and had another son, taking out his frustrations by verbally bullying Nyack and refusing to acknowledge him as his brother in public, calling him "half-stranger" instead. He gradually gets better about this treatment by being more appreciative of Nyack and starts acknowledging him as his brother, while still ordering him around like his personal servant.
  • Camp Gay: Flamboyant, effeminate in appearance and full of performative bluster who later shows interest in Aster Starsage, the prince he accidentally stabbed during his royal birthday party. Though the perk they are filthy rich is arguably more of a factor of attraction to Jens than their actual gender.
  • Embarrassing First Name: Canon conflicts on what Jens is actually short for: his mother Lexana refers to him as Jennifer, but Nyack later states that Jens is short for Jenitals. Both are equally embarrassing.
  • Not So Above It All: Tries to be the Straight Man of his party, but his huge ego and desperate need to be seen as cool often get in the way of this and makes himself look like an idiot just as often.
  • Older Than They Look: Jens looks young due to being a slow-aging high elf but is actually over 120 years old. Not that Jens would ever confirm that, going back and forth on his actual age so much that he's actually forgotten how old he really is.
  • Pretty Boy: Jens certainly thinks of himself as handsome, and both official and fan art support that by depicting Jens as slender and pretty with long hair, accentuating his high elven features.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Jens thinks he's a lot more famous/infamous than he is, and carries himself with such enormous swagger despite most people not knowing who he is.
    • His posts on Trinstagram are especially self-important despite his meagre following, and gets mad when his embarrassing blunders go viral instead of the content he actually wants.

     Onyx Lumiere

Onyx Lumiere

Played by: Emily Axford

Race: Aasimar (Scourge)
Class: Warlock (Hexblade)

Pastel goth warrior, rider of the dreaded "moonicorn" Obsidian and the brilliant mind behind the Clasp Company's social media account on Trinstagram.Onyx is one of the Moonfolk, people that populate the two moons of Trinyvale. While earning her geology major at state school Onyx happened upon a mysterious shard of crystal that whispered to her. Turning it into her magical flail, Onyx began to obey what the crystal told her to do, which may or may not have gotten her exiled from the moon.

  • All Girls Like Ponies: Or unicorns in this case. Onyx owns a pet moonicorn named Obsidian, whom she has outfitted with pastel heelie sneakers so he can roll around instead of trot.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: After episode 2 Onyx changes from her Goth dress and dons the pant suit of a kobold bureaucrat they killed in combat, altering the color scheme to fit her pastel aesthetic (though still stained with the blood of its previous owner).
  • Epic Flail: Onyx's pact weapon is a pastel pink crystal flail which grants her magical abilities such as her Hexblade's Curse.
  • Lunarians: Onyx and her family hail from Trinyvale's smaller moon, Pollox. Her kind are referred to as Moonfolk (but have the stats of an aasimar), and this is reflected in the pock marks on her skin that look like tiny asteroid craters.
  • Perky Goth: Is initially described as dressing like a Gothic lolita girl with the frilly dress, blouse and corset except it's in bright pastel colors.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: Her exact age is unclear - it's assumed since she works for an adventuring company that she's an adult - but since episode 3 she takes control of the Clasp Salt Company's Trinstragram (Trinyvale's answer to Instragram) account and turns it into a viral media sensation. From that episode on, Onyx's addiction to her phone and social media becomes a defining aspect of her personality and a big source of comedy.

     Nyack

Nyack

Played by: Jake Hurwitz

Race: Half-elf
Class: Ranger (Hunter)

A half-elf ranger who grew up in the Rana'For valley amongst a tribe of gorillas and the half-brother of Jens Lyndelle ("half-stranger" if you ask Jens).

  • Half-Human Hybrid: Nyack is the son born from the marriage between high elf Lexana and human Ronkonkoma ("Ron" for short).
  • Tarzan Boy: A lot of his aesthetic and backstory make Nyack a pretty clear Expy for the Lord of the Jungle. His human father Ron is also heavily modelled after Tarzan.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: As a ranger from a jungle village populated by gorillas, it makes sense that Nyack is not well-acquainted with the concept of shirts. His character art and Jake's descriptions often have him wearing either only pants or a loin cloth.
  • Yes-Man: To his half-brother Jens. Bafflingly, despite Jens's bullying Nyack admires Jens and practically worships the ground he walks on. Jens, being deeply self-centered, does nothing to discourage this behavior.
