Moshi Monsters, which unfortunately has been shut down but the universe still exists via apps, the movie, etc, is home to a variety of different species.

Adoptable monsters

     Poppets
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/poppet1_480x474.jpg
Poppets are furry creatures that look similar to guinea pigs but with tails. They are known to be very shy but love to dance in private.

     Katsumas
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/katsuma1_412x480.jpg
Katsumas (pronounced Kat-SOO-mahs) are furry creatures with long ears and tails, stripes, and a diamond shape on their heads. Their health meters don't go down as fast as other species and they're extremely quick and agile, meaning they're a force to be reckoned with if you fight with one. However, they generally only fight if they're angry, defensive, or practising karate (one of their favourite sports). They lean towards arrogance but there are a great many non-arrogant Katsumas. They're also very fashion conscious.
  • Action Girl: The player can choose the gender of their monster and the females are just as dynamic as the males.
  • Cat Folk: Downplayed. They are agile like cats and they sometimes make meow-type noises, but they aren't that catlike.
  • Drink-Based Characterization: They like to drink energy drinks, which ties into their feisty, high-energy personalities.
  • The Fashionista: They love shopping for clothes.
  • It's All About Me: Most, but by no means all, of them have big egos.
  • Jump Scare: If they want attention, they sometimes stare intensely at the screen in a way that makes their head fill the whole screen.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: The males are ninja-like and also fashion conscious.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Just like the males, the females are into karate but also fashion conscious.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: They all like a cereal called Katsuma Krunch.

     Furis
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/furi1_480x420.jpg
A Furi (pronounced "furry") is a Yeti-like monster. They are very amiable and when unhappy, they never blame the player the way other species do but instead cry. They appear gloomy but aren't really and in fact, similar to Poppets, they like dancing. They also thrive on change and often ask for the house to be redecorated.
  • Big Eater: They love to eat. In fact, they usually only smile when near food.
  • Perpetual Frowner: They frown nearly all the time, even when happy.
  • Smelly Feet Gag: A running gag is that their feet always smell.

     Luvlis
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/luvli1_480x388.jpg
A Luvli (pronounced "lovely") is a monster that looks like a flying cherry. Their "stalks" have magical powers. They can be a bit demanding with decorating, only wanting the flashiest items, but they're generally benevolent.

     Diavlos
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/diavlo3_472x480.jpg
The Diavlo (pronounced "dee-AH-vlo") is a monster that resembles a flying, devil-tailed volcano. They are very cheerful generally but are known to be easily-annoyed and when they do get angry, their volcanoes erupt.

     Zommers
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zommermonster.png
Zommers are creatures similar to Frankenstein's monster. They have a passion for rock and roll, hence the song "Rock Like a Zommer".
  • An Arm and a Leg: Their limbs are removable, so they can invoke this trope by taking them off.
  • Big Eater: They get hungry the most easily out of all the species.
  • Body Horror: They were sewn together, their body parts fall off, and part of their rib cage is visible. Softened a bit by the facts that they were apparently born that way and it doesn't hurt.
  • Cyclops: Downplayed. They have one eye and one empty eye socket.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: They look like Frankenstein's monster but are actually very friendly.
  • Drool Deluge: They all salivate a lot.
  • Eye Scream: Their eye is removable.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Downplayed. They anger kind of easily, but not to the extent of Diavlos.
  • Prone to Vomiting: Their babies are said to barf a lot.
