Introduced in Misfiction

    Rylan Baker
A normal university student who gets kidnapped by John Blanc and held in his basement.

    Eugene
Rylan's friend.

    John Blanc
A rich university student who loves Boys' Love. He falls for Rylan and kidnaps him to force him to return his affections. After being arrested for the ordeal, he ends up in a cell next to convicted killer Chase Colt. He becomes the protagonist of Mistrick when he ends up in a pocket dimension with Chase and tries to escape.
  • Asshole Victim: The reason he was targetted by Chase.
  • Big Bad: Of Misfiction where he kidnaps Rylan Baker and imprisons him in his mansion basement to get him to love him.
  • Ex-Big Bad: He is the villain of Misfiction where he kidnaps Rylan, but becomes the protagonist of Mistrick where now he is prisoner of a serial killer's spirit.
  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: According to him, he fell for Rylan specifically because he refused his affections, making him more determined to earn Rylan's love by kidnapping him. Also, in the True End of Mistrick, after spending the entire game trying to escape Chase, he suddenly decides he likes Chase back only when Chase gives up on him, much to Chase's dismay.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: He's the son of a rich family, allowing him to do everything he wants without facing any sort of punishment.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: He seems to think he's in a Boys' Love work where Abduction Is Love (as he read many of them in the past), so he believes that kidnapping Rylan and keeping him in his basement will eventually make Rylan fall in love with him. All it does is make Rylan hate his guts and try to escape.
  • Yandere: He kidnaps Rylan specifically to make Rylan love him.
  • Yaoi Fanboy: He reads Yaoi manga a lot and thinks they are an accurate depiction of gay romance, to the point that he kidnaps Rylan, his crush, to act out the common trope of Abduction Is Love.

Introduced in Mistrick

    Chase Colt
A convicted serial killer who takes a liking to John Blanc.
  • Big Bad: He tries to keep John Blanc trapped in the pocket afterlife to torture him for eternity.
  • Has a Type: He chooses his victims to be awful people, so he could have fun torturing them.
  • Laughably Evil: He's not quite taken seriously and provides many comical quotes if John decides to talk to him.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: Zigzagged. For most of the game, he is treated as a Laughably Evil weirdo. Then the game decides to remind you he is a dangerous Serial Killer when he chops Lola apart and chases John. But the True End has him defeated and neutralized in a comical fashion when he gives up on John due to him never breaking, only for John to decide now he wants Chase.
  • Psycho Knife Nut: A crazed Serial Killer who wields a knife.
  • Serial Killer: He is called one and was executed for multiple murders.
  • Sissy Villain: Unlike the cold and stoic John, Chase is more effeminate in his appearance and mannerisms, and just so happens to be an actually gay Serial Killer in love with John.
  • Yandere: He tries to keep John trapped inside the pocket dimension with him so he can torture him for all eternity. At least until John fails to crack, at which point Chase gives up on him.

    Lola
A talking doll who serves as John's guide.
  • Living Toys: She is a talking doll residing in a playroom with some other talking objects.

    Nini
A white-haired girl who takes care of a bunch of bunnies in one of the rooms.

    Rika
A shy girl who hides in a closet in the playroom.

    Claire
A giant face who resides at the end of the pocket dimension. John will have to impress her before she will let him out.
