- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's never seen getting along particularly well with anyone. Nevertheless, she did take in Claire and was very protective of her.
- Mama Bear: To Claire. She refuses to let Christian in, not wanting Claire to see her father as the pitiful drunk he truly is.
- Promotion to Parent: After a car accident sends her sister into a coma, Lindsey basically takes over as Claire's mother.

"Now I get all your daddy abandonment crap, huh?"
Claire's ex-boyfriend and the biological father of Aaron. He lives in Australia and is an artist.
- The Baby Trap: Accuses Claire of lying about taking her birth control so she could do this to him, even though he was the one who talked her into keeping the baby when they first found out.
- Disappeared Dad: To Aaron, whom he abandons while Claire is still pregnant.
- Evil Counterpart: To Michael, funnily enough. Both were artists who got their girlfriends pregnant and didn't marry them. While Michael gave up his dreams and took construction work to provide for his family, staying loyal until his girlfriend pushed him away, Thomas ducks out and runs for the hills.
- It's All About Me: Thomas is far more concerned about his stupid 'art' than raising his child.Thomas: How in the hell am I supposed to be a dad, Claire? How about my painting, my life?
- Jerkass: He convinces Claire to keep the baby, making all sorts of promises, but leaves suddenly and remorselessly when he feels his freedom is getting infringed on. He never even tries to find Claire again and exits her life with nothing more than a "it's over".
