Main Characters

    Rawhide
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/longgonegulchrawhide.png
"What's important is we made this town a safer place... But we did sheriff so hard today."
Voiced by: Elizabeth Daily

The sheriff of the Gulch who took over after her father passed away.

  • Action Girl: She is the sheriff of the town, and she takes pride in laying a beatdown on bad guys.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Snag calls her "Hidey" (sounds like Heidi).
  • Animal Motifs: She has frequent cat theming - her hat is drawn like a pair of cat ears, she jumps around in a feline style, bites, takes the part of the cat in a "Hang in there, baby" sign, and is briefly drawn as a Funny Animal cat in a Freeze-Frame Bonus during the showdown.
  • Author Avatar: She heavily resembles her co-creator Tara Bilinger.
  • Berserk Button: She has at least three: stealing her badge, saying she isn't a sheriff (or imply that being one is just a job), and trash talking her father.
  • Blush Sticker: Rawhide has prominent blushes on her cheeks.
  • Childish Tooth Gap: She has quite a noticeable one.
  • Fiery Redhead: The only way she could be more fiery is if she was literally on fire.
  • Missing Mom: While her father is very explicitly dead, no mention of her mother is brought up by anyone.
  • Signature Headgear: Rawhide wears a distint cowboy hat with a pink bow and a skull on the front.

    Snag
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/longgonegulchsnag.png
"Man, beating up fish mutants and throwing them in jail? All we had in this city was loitering and dumpster racing."
Voiced by: Danny Cooksey

Rawhide's partner and co-sheriff.

  • Animal Motifs: Snag has a subtle fish motif. He has a protruding chin and a fang, pale greenish-skin, and his hair is styled to look like a fin. Snagging is a method of fishing that entails catching a fish using hooks without the fish having to take the bait with their mouth.
  • Author Avatar: As with Rawhide, he heavily resembles his co-creator Zach Belissimo.
  • Berserk Button: Mistreating Ronette will send him on a rampage.
  • Companion Cube: His foldable comb, Ronette.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Type 1. Neither asks nor cares about what the bowl of glop in front of him is before chowing down face-first.
"Hey Rawhide, you want the rest of this...uh, I dunno what it is, but I ate some.
  • Greaser Delinquents: Looks and acts the part, though considerably cruder. He's even an ex-juvie con.
  • Hidden Depths: Can play the spoons surprisingly well, and is the voice of reason when he and Rawhide lose their jobs.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Ronette makes for a surprisingly good boomerang.
  • Like Brother and Sister: He treats Rawhide like a hyperactive younger sister, and he in turn acts like an older brother who pretends not to care as much as he does.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: When suggesting to Rawhide that they rub their latest victory in Mayor Rhubarb’s face, he puts his hand on her hair and smushes his face next to hers.
  • Shout-Out: His jacket has a series of dorsal spines that make him look like Godzilla, if the King of Monsters was a reedy teen greaser.
  • Unusual Euphemism: Seems fond of these, calling Mayor Rhubarb a "corn-fed Easter bonnett" and a "wet sandwich" among other things.

Supporting Characters

    Mayor Rhubarb

"What in the Sam Hill sugar mill is going on here, you heeeeeeeeeathens?!"
Voiced by: Myke Chilian

The mayor of the Gulch. He can't stand the shenanigans that Rawhide and Snag get into.

  • Animal Motifs: He has a bit of a chicken theme despite being a jackalope—his legs often bend more like a chicken's than a rabbit's, he resembles an uncooked rotisserie chicken with his fur torn off, and Snag calls him a "cornish hen." His front teeth are even shaped like a beak.
  • Butt-Monkey: No one really seems to respect him, he gets beaten and pushed around in one way or another whenever he's on screen, and his secretary doesn't seem to return his affections.
  • The Chew Toy: He takes far more hits than anyone else in the pilot.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: There isn't a moment in the pilot where the mayor doesn't get angry at something. After Rawhide and Snag humiliate him in front of Marigold, he gets so angry that he can't even talk properly.
  • Hopeless Suitor: He tries desperately to hook up with Marigold, but she is clearly not interested in him and most of his flirting ends up flat on its back. It would take a miracle for Marigold to return those feelings.
  • Humiliation Conga: Suffers a particularly brutal one after Rawhide and BW's brawl in the saloon.

    Marigold

"Sign in your names."
Voiced by: Erin Fitzgerald

Mayor Rhubarb's cold, apathetic secretary.

    Squatch
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/longgonegulchsquatch.png
"You guys seem less destructive today."
Voiced by: Piotr Michael

A sasquatch who frequents the Gulch's saloon.

    Pinchly
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/longgonegulchpinchly.png
"You can punch me if you'd like, baby boy."
Voiced by: Piotr Michael

A Cactus Man who tends to not think much.

  • Cloudcuckoolander: Not bothered with being punched in the face, completely oblivious to his surroundings, and celebrates when he is made sheriff as well as when he is fired. Pinchly clearly has a few screws loose.
  • Happy Dance: Does one when he's made the sheriff and does it again when he's fired.
  • Non-Mammalian Hair: An odd example—his facial spikes resemble a sparse mustache and chin scruff.
  • Plant People: He is a cactus man.
  • Those Two Guys: With Squatch. The only time they're seen apart is during Pinchly's time as sheriff.

    BW
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/longgonegulchbw.png
"Sheriff after sheriff after sheriff, This town keeps chewing them up with its rotten teeth, and you're next."
Voiced by: Amber Midthunder

A resident of the Gulch who often picks on Rawhide, but is willing to support her when necessary.

  • Ambiguously Human: She looks human, but the official description says that Rawhide is the only human born in the Gulch, and Snag’s the only human outsider. Plus, how she disappeared after giving Rawhide her badge suggests that she’s related to the supernatural somehow.
  • Hartman Hips: Her waist is the shape of a tube while her legs are meaty.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite all the guff she gives Rawhide, when the poor sheriff is depressed, she is willing to help perk her back up and motivate her to maintain her fighting spirit.
  • Magical Native American: BW appears to be based on this spaghetti western archetype. She has a medium brown complexion, her clothes and bold eyeshadow invoke buckskin and warpaint, she carries strange and dangerous concoctions, and she is implied to have magical powers. Her voice actress, to her credit, is of Native American descent.
  • Only Known by Initials: While BW's name is sometimes thought to stand for Buffalo Wing, co-creator Zach Bellissimo has stated it stands for nothing at all.
    • A Freeze-Frame Bonus in the Sheriff's office reveals BW might not even be her real initials.
  • The Rival: Implied to be such for Rawhide. Their first interaction has them at each other’s throats.
  • Sticky Fingers: Swipes Rawhide's badge effortlessly and without being noticed. Later, after the badge has been confiscated by Rhubarb she appears to give it back to Rawhide, only for it to turn out to be a leaf.

    Mako

"Y'know girl? You ain't never gonna be like your daddy."
Voiced by: Eric Bauza
Leader of a criminal gang.
