     Uramichi

Uramichi Omota/Uramichi Onii-san

Voiced by: Hiroshi Kamiya (Japanese), Adam Gibbs (English) Foreign VAs
The series' titular character. He is the exercise specialist on the Show Within a Show Together with Maman.
  • Abusive Parents: On the Father's Day Special episode, Uramichi casually reveals that his father was quite abusive, physically punishing him and his little sister if they ever skipped or made a mistake in gymnastics. It got so bad that his sister ran away from home at 16 years old just to escape from their dad.
    • In the manga, when he has to make a child stop crying, he remembers a memory where he was training with his dad and his dad told him continuously to stop crying without comforting him.
  • Butt-Monkey: Is often subjected to embarrassing or painful situations by the show production staff.
  • Depraved Kids' Show Host: A rather downplayed case of this. He's got the "bright persona but dead inside" personality down pat, exposes the kids to his depressing rants and private life way more than is appropriate, and regularly bullies Usahara on set, but deep down he actually cares about his coworkers and the kids.
  • The Dreaded: Usahara is greatly terrified of him since he is often the one on the receiving end of his beatings whenever he spoke out of turn.
  • The Eeyore: He's constantly depressed. At the start of the series Usahara and Kumatani didn't want to look directly at Uramichi because of how much of a downer he is.
  • First-Name Basis: Is always referred to by his first name both on and off set.
  • Freudian Trio: Between Usahara and Kumatani, Uramichi is the Ego being not as self-indulgent as Usahara but also not as stoic as Kumatani.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: Despite all his complaining, Uramichi genuinely enjoys his job and likes being a good role model to kids.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Always gets dressed up in tacky revealing outfits that show off his physique in universe.
  • Recurring Dreams: Uramichi has strange recurring dreams about a strange bird creature that rides a baguette.
  • Stepford Smiler: Uramichi is a Depressed type. He seems like a friendly and cheerful guy on the show he works on. When he’s off the clock, he’s melancholic and struggles to get through his normal daily life.
  • Terrible Artist: His drawings have a unique look, to put it lightly. He always adds creepy looking eyes to everything. Interestingly, his art has become popular on the in universe show to the point where they make merch off of it.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Usahara who he constantly is fighting with for usually justified reasons, but despite all their bickering the two have been close for almost ten years and they regularly hang out together along with Kumatani.

     Usao-kun

Tobikichi Usahara/Usao-kun

Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita (Japanese), Ray Chase (English) Foreign VAs
The actor inside the Usao-kun costume, one of Uramichi's former college underclassmen who he often bullies.
  • Animal Theme Naming: With Kumatani/Kumao-kun, since their names both relate to animals; the first kanji in his family name means "rabbit", which relates to how he plays Usao-kun, a character in a rabbit costume.
  • Brutal Honesty: Always says whatever is on his mind, oblivious to other people’s feelings. This is why most of the cast doesn’t like him.
  • The Chew Toy: Uramichi is always beating him up, for good reason. The others will often get in on the bullying.
  • Delinquent Hair: He has pudding hair, naturally dark hair with most of it dyed blond. When he was in college his hair was completely dyed blond
  • Freudian Trio: Together with Uramichi and Kumatani, he is the Id being a complete hedonist.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Due to his blunt tactlessness he is often the ire of the rest of the cast, but despite this he still regularly hangs out with the group.
  • Hidden Depths: Usahara is highly trained in track and field, specifically the high jump, however his athletic abilities almost never come into play unlike Uramichi or Kumatani's.
    • Out of the group Usahara is actually the one who takes his job the most seriously, rarely ever breaking character or complaining about it.
  • Last-Name Basis: Is referred to only by his last name, unlike the non-suit actors.
  • Perpetual Poverty: Always blows his money gambling and begs Uramichi and Kumatani for rent money.
  • Sweet Tooth: Really enjoys sweets, Uramichi takes advantage of it by pawning off sweets he doesn't want on to him.
  • Verbal Tic: As Usao-kun he ends all of his sentences with "hippity" or "hoppity".
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With both Uramichi and Kumatani to varying degrees, they fight constantly however the three have been close for almost a decade.

     Kumao-kun

Mitsuo Kumatani/Kumao-kun

Voiced by: Yūichi Nakamura (Japanese), Howard Wang (English) Foreign VAs
The actor inside the Kumao-kun costume, one of Uramichi's former college underclassmen who he gets along with fairly well.
  • Animal Theme Naming: With Usahara/Usao-kun, since their names both relate to animals; the first kanji in his family name means "bear", and he plays Kumao-kun, a character in a bear costume.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Despite being only a year older, Kumatani always makes sure that no one ever takes advantage of Iketeru, and often goes along with his strange ideas. It also helps that he actually has a younger brother.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Frequently makes snide comments about everyone except Iketeru’s strange behavior.
  • Freudian Trio: With Usahara and Uramichi he is the Super Ego, keeping to his own strict set of moral values.
  • Former Teen Rebel: Prior to starting archery, Kumatani would always get into fights at school and had a bad relationship with his parents.
  • Kind Hearted Cat Lover: So much that he punched his old boss in the face and quit his previous job on the spot just because he caught him abusing an abandoned cat in a box, which he would then adopt. He later builds a shelter for the local cats during a typhoon. Also, while fishing, he offers his catch to a stray cat before a seagull snatches it, then stays in the port until he finds another fish for the cat.
  • Last-Name Basis: Is referred to only by his last name, unlike the non-suit actors.
  • Only Sane Man: By far the most serious and least quirky member of the cast.
  • The Stoic: Is almost always indifferent, unless angered.
  • This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman: His skills as a trained archer are usually completely pointless as a suit actor, except for when he had to avoid shooting Iketeru with freezing cold water.
  • Verbal Tic: As Kumao-kun he ends all his sentences with "grr".
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Usahara, who Kumatani always sets up for failure by not telling him important details or abandoning him. Despite this, they've remained close since college.

     Iketeru

Iketeru Daga/Iketeru Onii-san

Voiced by: Mamoru Miyano (Japanese), Brandon McInnis (English) Foreign VAs
One of the music specialists on Together With Maman, he is a former theater actor and not particularly bright.
  • Brainless Beauty: He's very good-looking to the point that it's commented on in-universe, but he's not particularly bright and needs to be directly told to do anything.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: He spends a majority of his time either zoning out while thinking about onigiri, or laughing at dick jokes.
  • Desperately Needs Orders: Played with; while he's not exactly desperate to be given orders, he's pretty much incapable of doing most things without being prompted beforehand.
  • The Ditz: Is never completely aware of what's going on.
  • First-Name Basis: Is exclusively referred to by first name on and off set.
  • Heh Heh, You Said "X": Most of the comedy involving him revolves around this, with Iketeru laughing at random words due reminding him of penises.
  • Idiot Savant: Iketeru is always out of it, but when he’s directly instructed to do something like act or draw he will do it insanely well.
  • Informed Attractiveness: He's the only male character who's explicitly referred to by the narration as a pretty boy, even though he isn't drawn anymore attractively than the other male characters.
  • It Runs in the Family: His older sister and dog act exactly like him.
  • Manchild: Is incredibly innocent and has a mind much more similar to a child's, he also still believes in Santa.
  • Pretty Boy: Iketeru is the only one whom the narration unambiguously calls a pretty boy.

     Utano

Utano Tadano/Utano Onee-san

Voiced by: Nana Mizuki (Japanese), Jessica Calvello (English) Foreign VAs
One of the music specialists on Together With Maman, she is a washed up former idol.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Though she expresses some annoyance at the lack of success of her comedian boyfriend, she's shown to find his comedic routine genuinely funny, and even blushes in shame when she realizes she's the only one laughing at it.
  • First-Name Basis: Is exclusively referred to by first name on and off set.
  • Mood-Swinger: Utano often flip-flops from acting completely normal, to being in complete hysterics.
  • Old Maid: She's 32 years old and desperately wants to get married, but her boyfriend of six years refuses to propose.
  • Out of Focus: Out of the main cast she gets by far the least development and focus, and hardly gets any jokes beyond her fixation on getting married.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only main female character.
