She is once again made first mate and subsequently captain of the Portefaix under Jean Bart’s command, all under the age of twenty.

     Luc-Henri de Pusay
Henriette's cousin and childhood friend.
  • Big Brother Bully: Initially had this dynamic with his cousin Henriette, but soon came to respect her and they become close friends.

  • Beauty Is Bad: Fair, blonde, elegant and beautiful, and one hell of an asshole.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While it seems foolish to spend so much on gowns and tea parties when the family is so short on money, those are an investment: since they cannot put together a proper dowry for Bertille, they need to show her off in the best possible light for her to catch the eye of a wealthy gentleman who will marry her regardless.
