The Glinda Knights

    In General
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: In canon, the Glinda Knights were an anti-terror task force founded by Princess Marrybell mel Britannia in Code Geass: Oz the Reflection. Here, that's just their (unnamed) day job; in truth, they're another vigilante group that makes otherwise untouchable criminals confess their crimes with their own mouths.
  • Canon Character All Along: This story's Glinda Knights have the same leader and the same members as their canonical namesake, but here they're an outlaw group that triggers changes of heart rather than a military organization (though that last part is their official cover).
  • Cassandra Truth: Discussed. The Glinda Knights don't go public with their findings about the Ancient Conspiracy at the heart of the Empire because they know no one would ever believe them.
  • The Cavalry Arrives Late: They show up during the fifth Palace Boss Fight right after Lelouch and co. claim the Treasure.
  • Chekhov's Gunman:
    • Princess Marrybell mel Britannia is mentioned early on in Chapter 17 by Lelouch when telling Leila about the few relatives that bothered to see him and Nunnally off when they were exiled to Japan in all but name.
    • The above and her Knight Oldrin Zevon make a brief appearance in Chapter 22 by basically playing dress-up at Leila's expense. They finally make a plot-relevant appearance — if unnamed at the time — in Chapter 56 at the Masquerade Ball and their identities are fully confirmed in Chapter 59.
  • Hero of Another Story: As of Chapter 49, the Glinda Knights have changed the hearts of Princess Carine ne Britannia and Knight of Ten Luciano Bradley in the Homeland, but this is only mentioned in In-Universe news reports and all the internet noise about whether they're more prolific than the Black Knights despite not being active for as long as the latter. Their story intersects with the main one as of the High Eunuch's Palace.
  • To Be Lawful or Good: Most of its members started off as loyal Britannian soldiers, but after seeing the Empire's real face through the Shadow Selves of their ruling elite, to say nothing of the Emperor's secret plans, they have come to accept the need to fight for Britannia's people rather than for Britannia itself.

    West

Marrybell mel Britannia/West

Arcana: 0. The Fool
Persona: Elphaba

See her entry under the Faith Arcana folder in the Confidants page.

    Oz

Oldrin Zevon/Oz

Arcana: VIII. Justice
Persona: Dorothy
The Ace of the Glinda Knights. The daughter of the Zevon noble family and a childhood friend of Marrybell, she wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps by becoming a Knight. Following Mary into the military after her uncle became family head, she joined her in forming the Glinda Knights.
  • The Ace: Of the Glinda Knights, she's their best Knightmare devicer; though she mentions that her sync rating is still slightly below the Knights of the Round, and freely admits she doesn't hold a candle to Kallen.
  • Badass Family: Her mother was a Knight of the Round.
  • Bodyguard Babes: She's a Knight of Honor duty-bound to protect her lady, and very attractive.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: A victorious example, albeit a secret one.
  • Embarrassing Superpower: She's a badass knight who trained swordsmanship since she could walk, and she's not too happy she got Dorothy Gale as her Persona, the Country Mouse Kid Heroine (and Kid-Appeal Character) of the Land of Oz novels.
  • Foil:
    • To Kallen. Both are right-hand women (and more) to their team leader, and passionate about protecting the common people of their home country. However, while Kallen has bitterly admitted she would abandon her ideals if it means staying with Lelouch, Oldrin has made it clear that she intends to keep Merrybell from falling off their path, even if it means losing her.
    • Perhaps less importantly, there's an amusing parallel between them in that Oldrin is in a Secret Relationship with Marrybell, whereas Kallen is the only one of Lelouch's girlfriends publicly dating him.
  • Hide Your Lesbians: Subverted. Unlike in Code Geass: Oz the Reflection, the story doesn't bother to hide her relationship with Marrybell behind (albeit rather transparent) subtext.
  • Honest Advisor: Quite outspoken with her boss when in private.
  • Lady of War: A military academy graduate serving as a Royal Princess' Knight of Honor.
  • The Lancer: To West.
  • The Last DJ: She genuinely believes in the Chivalric Code, in what a Knight is supposed to do and represent, rather than being another cog in the imperial machine. This at times puts her at odds with her lady who has a tendency for amoral pragmatism without a Morality Chain holding her back.
  • Morality Chain: To her lady, who much like canon Lelouch has a tendency for utterly ruthless courses of action when devoid a Morality Chain holding them back.
  • Secret Relationship: With Marrybell. Kept secret not only because a Lady and Knight Unequal Pairing is a tad questionable, but also because they live in an aristocracy and revealing their relationship would make things difficult for a princess like Marrybell.
  • Sexy Secretary: Downplayed. Oldrin is officially Marrybell's Knight of Honor, but she doesn't mind doing more menial stuff while bodyguarding her like filling in the score sheets of her lady's chess matches.
  • Succession Crisis: She's nominally the heiress of the contested leadership of the Zevon family but prefers to live her life as a knight, so she basically left home and let her uncle take over.

    Scarecrow

Sokkia Scerpa/Scarecrow

Arcana: II. The Priestess
Persona: Bootzafrau
A former sports star and model, with a flirtatious/perverted streak several miles wide.
  • Everyone Has Standards: When Alice learns she's even wrote a story about Nemo, she's quick to assure it's just an unpublished draft of a more innocent relationship, as writing smut about underage girls is a line even she won't cross. This at least works to mollify Alice.
  • Hidden Depths: She's a professional sports racer and model turned soldier, whom the public doesn't know also writes trashy fan fictions in secret. Even when confronted by her lurid tastes by Kallen, she reveals that she also has a practical motivation of spreading purposely false disinformation about the Metaverse and the Persona groups in her works and on the Internet in the hopes that it further misleads official intelligence agencies. She's a pervert, but she's a pervert with a brain.
  • I Call It "Vera": She thinks her Persona's name is a mouthful, so prefers to call it 'Boogie'.
  • Innocently Insensitive: She knows a great deal about Japanese culture, but still refers to it as Area 11 and it's people as Elevens which rubs Kallen the wrong way. As that's simply how Britannia colonies are referred in the mainland, she doesn't mean for it to be demeaning, and sincerely apologizes when called on it.
  • Leotard of Power: Her Thief Suit is some combination of Amazonian warrior and wrestling outfit.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: She's just as bad as Milly, if not WORSE since she writes smutty fanfiction of both the Black Knights and Glinda Knights.
  • Scary Scarecrows: Subverted. Her Persona may be a scarecrow, but it's noted to appear more attractive than horrifying.
  • Shout-Out: To the Scarecrow of Oz.

    Stannum

Tink Lockhart/Stannum

Arcana: XI. Strength
Persona: Talos
A former Knightmare test pilot, with more scars than he'll admit to.
  • Big Eater: Kallen observes how he's able to chow down a surprising amount of hamburgers without any trouble.
  • The Big Guy: He's the biggest member of the group, and his Persona is a metal giant.
  • Cybernetics Eat Your Soul: Thoroughly subverted. His Thief suit looks like a cyborg, but is noted to being a kid friendly design and the man himself is quite friendly and polite. It also applies to the fact he actually is a cyborg with an artificial arm in the real world.
  • Meaningful Name: His alias is latin for tin ('Tin Man' was too close to his actual name).
  • Mighty Glacier: His Persona's role is to take hits for others, but is notably slow to react so is in danger of being nothing but a giant target if it finds itself without support.
  • Nice Guy: Is quite earnest, so much so that Kallen can't find it in her to hold his Big Eater tendency against him, even if it reminds her how so many Japanese are starving in ghettos.
  • Older Than They Look: He's only a year older than Kallen, but seems older given his hair color and build.
  • Shout-Out: Naturally to the Tin Man. And his cyborg-like Thief suit also refers to the fact that he is a cyborg.

    Arslan

Leonhardt Steiner/Arslan

Arcana: IV. The Emperor
Persona: Richard
The heir of the Steiner Konzern, the primary suppliers of Knightmare Frames after the Ashfords fall from grace. A quiet and unassuming young man.
  • Blue Blood: He's the heir to a prominent noble family, and his Thief Suit also calls upon his aristocratic status.
  • Cowardly Lion: As a Shout-Out of the character, he's shy and subdued in the real world, but bold and daring in the Metaverse.
  • Jack of All Stats: His Persona is noted to having no weaknesses yet no resistances, and while his stats are respectable, he has no real speciality either.
  • Meaningful Name: His alias is the Turkish word for 'lion'.
  • Officer and a Gentleman: His Thief Suit invokes this, albeit in a style more fitting during Washington's Rebellion.
  • Perfectly Arranged Marriage: Per canon, he's been engaged to Marika by their families since they were kids. Thankfully, they do love each other.
  • Sword and Gun: He wields a sable and flintlock pistol in the Metaverse to go with his colonial officer Thief Suit.

    Valkyrie

Marika Soresi/Valkyrie

Arcana: XII. The Hanged Man
Persona: Mina
The newest member of the Glinda Knights and younger sister of the second-in-command of the Purist Faction, who was saved from joining Luciano Bradley's Valkyrie Squadron by the Glinda Knights.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Accidentally offends Kallen by calling the Japanese 'Elevens'. She sincerely apologizes for doing so, noting how it's difficult to work around the inherent prejudices of the Empire.
  • Lady of War: Much like Euphemia, Marika's Thief Suit is based off the outfit Cornelia wears, but this one in Resurrection, symbolizing how she also looks up to the general.
  • Meaningful Name: Luciano had tried to make her join the Valkyrie Squadron. She took her alias as a way of defying his distorted desires.
  • Perfectly Arranged Marriage: She's engaged to Leonhardt, who's four years older than her. She doesn't seem bothered by this, and they seem to get along fairly well.
  • Thicker Than Water: Even if she knows it was necessary, Marika hasn't forgiven Lelouch for masterminding her brother Kewell's change of heart when he took down the Purist Faction. Downplayed in that she's professional enough to not let that get in the way of cooperating with the Black Knights.
  • Vampire Hunter: Her Persona, as one of the characters on team Van Hellsing in Dracula. Considering her experience with Bradley, this is fitting.

    Terry

Toto Thompson/Terry

Arcana: IX. The Hermit
Persona: Lethe
A maid in service to the Zevon family, who followed her mistress Oz into the military, and then into the Glinda Knights.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Before the operation to attack Britannia's Psionic Research base, she expresses unease at what they will find. Stating there are things people would best not know. Those familiar with her canon story will know why.
  • Family of Choice: Outright declares Oldrin and the Glinda Knights to be this.
  • Meaningful Name: Aside from her real name being Toto, her code name not only refers to the actual name of the Cairn Terrier who played the film role, but also that terriers were used to sniff out and locate vermin, much as her Persona serves primarily to locate Shadows.
  • Meido: Her Thief Suit is a combination of spy catsuit and maid outfit... with cute dog ears.
  • The Mole: She was actually an agent of The Director's cult, having been sent to spy on the Zevons and Marrybell. However, she's since changed her loyalties to the group that actually cares about her.
  • Mythology Gag: Her Persona is the underworld goddess of forgetfulness, reflecting her canon Geass. And her actual power, it turns out.
  • The Quiet One: She's very unassuming, and blends into the background.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Her Persona, capable of erasing memories, can partially manifest outside of the Metaverse.
