All-Out Assault
"A brutal, expansionist empire where might makes right, Noxus sprawls across the continent in a struggle for complete dominance. However, within the region's borders beats a heart fueled by the blood, sweat, and tears of its dedicated citizens, allowing any who would try for power to step forth and seize victory...if they're able. Do you have what it takes?"

Legends of Runeterra cards based in the region of Noxus.

    open/close all folders

    General
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Noxian cards specialize in dealing as much damage to the enemy and their nexus as possible. This ranges from having units with relatively high power, spells that deal or boost damage, and frequent access to the Overwhelm keyword which deals ensured nexus damage.

Factions

The Trifarian Legion

Noxus's most elite military force, lead by Darius. Most Trifarian units are geared towards attacking, with many lacking defensive abilities altogether in exchange.
  • Badass Army: In game they have high attack power that makes them ideal offensive units, and many such as the Legion Grenadier and Saboteur have ways to layer extra damage on the enemy nexus.
  • Elite Army: The sizable yet ruthless army of Noxus. The Legionaries have immense Power that can destroy many lesser cards.

The Reckoners

A series of gladiators that fight in Noxus's fighting arenas. Draven is the reigning champion.

  • Gladiator Games:
    • The Reckoners get a lot of extra focus in this game, not only the actual named fighters like Draven, Kato and Shiraza, but the behind-the-scenes figures like the Arena Bookie (a yordle, of all things, named Karl), the Arena Battlecaster]], and even members of the audience like Draven's Biggest Fan.
    • With the Monuments of Power expansion, the arena itself makes an appearance. At the end of each round it makes your strongest combatant fight the enemy's weakest. Devastating if the enemy relies on some support-based units with low attack, but also dangerous as even the weakest target can whittle down your own key unit.

The Black Rose

The Risen Legion

Noxian warriors brought back from the dead just like Sion. They're designed to be played in discard decks, benefitting from either being discarded themselves or doing so to other units.

The Crimson Circle

Vladimir's cult of worshippers who all have an interest in Blood Magic. Their abilities all rely on whether or not they can survive damage.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: Half of the followers benefit from taking damage while the other half and Vladimir himself provide the damage. This can range from buffing themselves, creating cards in hand, or dealing direct damage.

"An iron will and a titan's strength. There is no finer general to lead the Trifarian Legion." - Jericho Swain

A proud and deadly warrior of Noxus, Darius worked his way up to become commander of the Trifarian Legion, leading conquests all across Runeterra. With axe in hand, he cleaves through the enemies of Noxus, showing no mercy in pursuit of maintaining the nation's ideals.

Darius levels up when the enemy's Nexus is at 10 health or less, gaining +4/+1. His signature spell is Darius's Decimate.

"Nothing like a little Demacian target practice to sharpen the senses..."

A deadly assassin with a devil-may-care attitude, Katarina's recklessness and independence put her at odds with her prestigious family, who sent another assassin to try putting her in her place. Forever in a bid to prove her worth to Noxus, she takes on deadlier and deadlier assignments to prove herself as one of the nation's most lethal weapons.

Katarina is a 3-mana 3/2 Champion with Quick Attack that creates a Fleeting Blade's Edge (1-mana Fast spell that deals 1 to anything) in hand when summoned. When she's struck once and survived she levels up, gaining +1/+1, increasing her mana cost by 1, and instead of a Blade's Edge, she grants a Rally when played. Her signature spell is Katarina's Death Lotus.

"Time for the main event!"

"You want an autograph? Get in line, pal."

The most skilled Reckoner in the Noxian arenas, Draven is an opponent that other Reckoners fear. His reputation is well-earned as he dominates opponents in flashes of steel, enthralling the crowds and felling foe after foe to hear his name cheered by countless adoring fans.

When Draven is played or when he strikes, he generates a Spinning Axe in your hand (a 0-mana Burst spell that gives an ally +1/+0 until the end of the round at the cost of discarding a card). When he strikes twice while under the effect of Spinning Axe (or once while under the effect of two Spinning Axes) he levels up, gaining +1/+1 and Overwhelm, and generating two Spinning Axes instead of one. His signature spell is Draven's Whirling Death.

Vicious. Cold. Cruel. Intriguing. Perceptive. Charming.
Irresistible...

A charming and vain aristocrat at first glance, Vladimir has been influencing Noxus's politics for centuries, sustaining himself by draining the vitality of countless victims. His charisma and power have let him maintain a dedicated cult following, and earned him a prestigious place among the mysterious Black Rose, continuing his dark reign over the Noxian underworld.

Vladimir casts Crimson Pact when he attacks, dealing 1 damage to all attacking allies to his right and an equal amount of damage to the enemy Nexus. When 6 or more allies have taken damage without dying Vladimir levels up, gaining +1/+1 and Regeneration and causing Crimson Pact to drain health from the enemy Nexus rather than merely damaging it. His signature spell is Vladimir's Transfusion.

"By my hand will Noxus rise."

Click to see his Leveled Up card

"A power beyond mortal understanding gave me the vision to see what most cannot. I peer through the darkness others fear."

The ambitious grand general of Noxus, Swain leads the front lines on a visionary campaign for power and unity. Having seized the powers of the demon Raum, the general can absorb his enemies' darkest secrets, leaving no chance for a counterattack on Noxus's armies.

Swain has a Nexus Strike ability to deal 3 direct damage to the enemy Nexus. When you have inflicted 12 or more damage to any number of things on either side with non-combat damage, he levels up, gaining +1/+1. His Nexus Strike ability now does 3 damage to all enemies and the enemy Nexus. Passively he stuns the strongest enemy unit on the backline (that has not already been Stunned) every time their Nexus takes non-combat damage. His signature spell is Swain's Ravenous Flock.

3-mana | 3/4

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/riven_lor_1.png
"When will I find peace?"

Click to see her Leveled Up card

"I will not run from what I was. I made a promise to mend what I have broken..."

Once a renowned Noxian swordmaster, Riven's resolve was tested and broken on the battlefields of Ionia. Leaving her people to tend to the Ionian fields and atone for her actions, her past ultimately came back to haunt her in the form of a Noxian warband, forcing her to take up arms once again.

When she's summoned while you have an Attack Token, or when you gain an Attack Token, Riven Reforges, generating a Blade Fragment; each is a 1-mana Focus spell that grants an ally either Quick Attack, Overwhelm, or +2 Attack for one turn depending on the Fragment, and when all three have been played, a Blade of the Exile (a 1-mana Slow spell that permanently gives an ally the benefits of all three fragments) is generated in your hand. When Riven sees Blade of the Exile in your hand, she levels up, gaining +1/+1 and passively doubling the first Attack buff she receives each round. Her signature spell is Riven's Weapon Hilt.

"Now now, no need to squabble amongst ourselves. For the moment, we will refrain from any rash action. Let us reconvene once we've heard from our emissary. After all..."

The enigmatic leader of the secretive Black Rose, LeBlanc is responsible for pulling strings behind the scenes of Noxus for centuries. Though a deadly sorceress, her greatest strength is her deception, as she may be anywhere - or anyone...

When LeBlanc sees you deal 15+ damage, she levels up, gaining +1/+1. When she sees you deal 15 damage or more, she either creates a Mirror Image in your hand (a 2-mana Slow spell that summons an exact Ephemeral copy of an ally) or, if you already have one, reduces its cost by 1. Her signature spell is LeBlanc's Sigil of Malice.

Beyond the Bandlewood

Sion

Voiced By: Scott McNeil
7-mana | 3/6 | Overwhelm

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sion_lor_1.png
"What is... this life?"

Click here to see his Leveled Up card

Click here to see Sion Returned

Sion glimpsed fleeting flashes of opaque memories. Legions standing before him. Accolades. Crowns. War. A king's deathrattle. The Great Nothing. Blood. But just as soon as they floated by, they floated past, pale ribbons in the wind.

Once a great hero of Noxus, Sion fell in battle slaying Demacia's King Jarvan I. After countless years, he was reanimated by necromancers led by Vladimir and the Black Rose to serve as a weapon of war once again. In combat, he is consumed by a vicious bloodlust, so strong that even death itself seems to have no power on him.

When Sion is discarded, he grants your strongest unit Overwhelm and shuffles himself back into your deck, and he passively has +1 Attack for each card you've discarded (to a maximum of +7 Attack). When you've summoned or discarded units with a total of 35+ Attack, Sion levels up, losing his power-stacking passive but passively gaining +7/+0 and a Last Breath that summons Sion Returned, a 10/4 Ephemeral unit with Overwhelm that grants a Rally when summoned. His signature spell is Sion's Roar of the Slayer.

See League Of Legends: Si-Sy for his tropes.

Worldwalkers

Annie

1-mana | 0/2

Annie casts Molten Shield on attacking, which deals 2 damage to her blocker, or to the enemy Nexus if she's unblocked or her blocker is removed. When she sees you cast six or more Fast/Slow spells or Skills she levels up, gaining +1/+1, upgrading Molten Shield to do 3 damage and stun her blocker, and creating a Tibbers in your hand. Tibbers is a 6-mana 5/5 Noxian Follower with Fearsome who casts Pyroclastic Arrival when played, which stuns an enemy then does 2 damage to all stunned or damaged enemies. Her signature spell is Annie's Disintegrate.

See League Of Legends A for her tropes.

Beyond

Mordekaiser

Voiced By: Fred Tatasciore
7-mana | 5/8 | Challenger | Dual-Shadow Isles Champion

"Destiny. Domination. Deceit."

"Bound to his armor kept in the heart of the Immortal Bastion, Mordekaiser has forged a throne of his own making in the Grey Realm. For every one who would seek to destroy him, there are more who will serve him in both life and death."

A terrible warmonger, and a very literal Tin Tyrant, Mordekaiser intends to bring his realm of the dead to the land of the living.

Upon being played, Mordekaiser kills two allies, and summons any of your own allies that you have slain. When 15 allies have died (any ally with 5+ power counts twice), Mordekaiser levels up, gaining +1/+1. Whenever Mordekaiser attacks, for the rest of the game, any time you slay any enemies while attacking, 1 life point is drained from the opponent's nexus

See League of Legends: Mordekaiser for his tropes.

A Noxian nobleman looking to gain clout in the Crimson Circle. When Edvin survives damage, he'll create an allied crimson unit in hand.

  • Big Beautiful Man: If his flirting with Clara and Ophelia is any indication.
    Klara: "Edvin! Come here, handsome."

    Ophelia: "Finally, someone with class."
Edvin: "A pleasure to see you too, my dear."
  • Cast from Hit Points: For as long as he can tank damage, he'll create a never ending supply of crimson units in hand, who all have skills and abilities that synergize with his.
  • Enemy Summoner: What his passive effectively boils down too.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: He's all about trying to gain influence among the Crimson Circle, and his abilities reflect this by creating other Crimson units when his passive activates.
  • Not in the Face!: One of his blocking quotes.
    "Not the face!"

-Elise

Legion Drummer

2-Mana | 3/2 | Support

"The Legion spread the empire's reach with every beat of her drum. Nothing could stop them. Nothing did."

Legion General

5-Mana | 4/4 | Fearsome

All Noxians know the three Principles of Strength, but if a soldier is to rise through the ranks, they must learn to master them.

Legion Grenadier

2-mana | 3/2

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/legion_grenadier_lor.png
"COMIN' IN HOT!"

Every Noxian is taught that a life spent in service to the empire is well spent, but few spend their lives as spectacularly as the Legion's grenadiers.

A crazed, explosives-wielding Noxian soldier. His Last Breath effect deals 1 damage to the enemy Nexus.

  • Blood Knight: This guy revels in battle and the chance to cause carnage.
  • Mad Bomber: He comes off as zealous even by Noxian standards, and charges into the fray carrying bombs.
  • No Indoor Voice: The vast majority of his lines are shouted maniacally.
  • Not Afraid to Die: Well, you'd kind of have to be to charge into battle carrying this much live explosives.
(when blocking) "Death doesn't scare me!"

Legion Marauder

3-mana | 3/2

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/legion_marauder_lor.png
"Anyone hurt? Hehe..."

The Trifarian Legion is trailed by opportunistic brigands who prey on the weak and injured in its wake.

A vicious Noxian bandit. When a Legion Marauder attacks, all allied Legion Marauders everywhere gains +1/+1.

  • Increasingly Lethal Enemy: A 3-mana 3/2 is fairly weak, but every time one of him attacks, all copies of him gain permanent bonuses (including copies that haven't yet hit the board). If you can stick multiple Legion Marauders on the board, they can quickly start snowballing out of control.

Legion Rearguard

1-mana | 3/2 | Can't Block

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/legion_rearguard_lor.png
"Where's my axe?"

In Noxus, where soldiers are revered for their audacity on the battlefield, rearguard duty is nothing short of a punishment.

A soldier sentenced to rearguard duty for the Trifarian Legion.

  • Left Stuck After Attack: His artwork shows the guy struggling to pull his axe out of what appears to be the remnants of a wooden pillar.
  • Nerf: His health was reduced from 2 to 1 for a time to cut the power of Noxus aggro decks. It was reverted later due to Power Creep leaving him in the dust.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Legion Rearguard is quite powerful for his cost, but the inability to block limits his tactical use besides hitting things.

Legion Saboteur

1-mana | 2/1

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/legionsaboteur.png
"No one's the wiser."

"Our Shieldbreakers can split a man in two. But the Legion has other talents at its disposal when it requires a more... discreet touch."
-Swain

An inflitration specialist for the Trifarian Legion. When she attacks, she'll cast the skill Sabotage, dealing 1 to the enemy nexus.

  • Glass Cannon: She's very easy to kill, but can still pull off some decent early game damage thanks to her stats and skill.
  • Stealth Expert: Her art shows her eavesdropping on a pair of enemies who are planning an attack. Attacking with her sets off an explosive, damaging the enemy nexus unless the opponent can disable her skill.

Precious Pet

1-Mana | 2/1 | Fearsome

She loves them all. She just loves this one more.

Reckless Trifarian

3-Mana | 5/4 | Can't Block

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/recklesstrifarian.png
"Nothing can stop me!"

"Recklessness is a fault. Tempered by the Legion, it becomes a tool."
-Swain

A powerful but undisciplined trifarian soldier.

  • Blood Knight: He seems more interested in killing than winning the battle. Darius is not thrilled about that.
Reckless Trifarian: "Here to watch the bloodshed, Sir?"
Darius: "Here to win the war, soldier. Stand to!"
  • Mighty Glacier: Downplayed. He boasts some impressive stats for a 3-cost unit. This comes with the caveat though that he can only be used for attack turns.

Trifarian Hopeful

2-Mana | 3/2

Trifarian Shieldbreaker

5-Mana | 6/5 | Fearsome

"I don't have the patience for a siege. Send the Shieldbreakers."
-Darius

Arachnoid Host

5-Mana | 5/3 | Spider

A single glance and you’re hers. A single bite and you’re theirs.

Arena Battlecaster

2-Mana | 2/2

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arenabattlecaster.png
"Whooo's ready to reeeckooonnn!"

He roared with glee. For a moment, the heart of the arena pulsed in time with his and the excitement of the assembled masses was clutched in his triumphant hand.

The bombastic announcer for the Recknoners' arena. When he attacks, he grants all attacking allies +1 power.

  • Large-Ham Announcer: A pro wrestling-style announcer for the Noxus arena.
  • No Indoor Voice: Justified given that he's always putting on a show for the crowd. Even his voice over has a filter to make it sound like he's on the mic.
  • Non-Action Guy: He gets taken by surprise whenever he's sent in to attack, lampshading how out of his element he is to be fighting.
"I guess we're really doing this."
"He engages, but will he survive? Hopefully, yes."

Arena Bookie (Karl)

2-Mana | 2/2 | Yordle

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arenabookie.jpg
"When you want a job done right."

”…you bet on Shiraza as SOLE SURVIVOR, and that Ionian kid— sure he’s missing an arm— but he ain’t dead. Makes him a survivor, see? ‘Course, you could always double down…”

A lavish bookmaker running bets for the Reckoners' arena. At the start of every round, Karl discards your lowest cost card to draw 1.

  • Illegal Gambling Den: He's got a whole office to himself where he runs his operations, including two bodyguards to keep his clients in their lane.
  • Smug Snake: He runs his business with a greedy delight, but he also draws the ire of many reckoners whom he's ripped off which makes him quick to buckle. He also completely crumples when forced into direct combat.
    Draven: "Where's my money, bookie?"
Karl: "Draven! Good to, uh... let's talk after."

Minotaur Reckoner: "This one never pays."
Karl: "I, uhhh... just got a new money guy. You understand..."
  • Utility Party Member: His use lies in churning out more and more cards until you land on the units you want in a given scenario, but this also comes at the cost of discarding another each round. This makes him ideal for decks centered on late game or discard decks.

Basilisk Rider

4-Mana | 4/3 | Allegiance

This particular unit does use horses, just not for riding. The beasts find them delicious.

Crimson Awakener

4-Mana | 5/5

”Even if I said ‘no’, you’d drag me along. So… sure.”

Crimson Disciple (Clara)

2-Mana | 2/3

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crimsondisciple.jpg
"I'll try anyone once."

"Edvin! There you are, handsome. I was just thinking of you!" "Each of us can go, now…" "Escort me. I'll make it fun." "Or nothing at all?"

A member of the Crimson Circle who enjoys the fun of learning blood magic. When Clara survives damage, she deals 1 point of damage to the enemy nexus.

  • Bloodlust: She talks about blood magic in terms of taste, and reaches a high every time she experiments with it.
    "Delicious."
"I love a taste of the action."
  • Ship Tease: She expresses attraction to Ophelia, and the latter's art shows the two of them intimately exploring blood magic together.
  • The Tease: She loves to flirt with her companions in the Crimson Circle. It's implied she even has a sexual interest in some of them.

Crowd Favorite (Vessid)

Voiced By: Liam O'Brien
4-Mana | 2/1 | Overwhelm

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crowdfavorite.png
"The people are my strength!"

"Some reckoners are adored for their charisma. Others, for their swift technique. Vessid possesses neither, but no one turns a rival to splatter with more efficiency"

A popular reckoner with a booming pressence. When Vessid is summoned, he gains +1 power and health for every ally in play.

  • All-American Face: A send-up of the trope. Vessid is a pure white-bread Noxian Face that wears a legion helmet into the arena and loudly proclaims his love for Noxus, complete with the stereotypical attributes of his archetype, lots of muscle, classic power moves, and an absolute lack of personality or technical skill beyond that.
  • The Face: Invoked. See above. While he looks and sounds like a typical face wrestler, his personality is apparently quite subdued compared to other reckoners (which isn't saying much with how out there some of them get). Despite that, he became incredibly popular with the crowds despite not having much in the way of bombast or charisma, relying purely on his ability to smash things and corny patriotism.
  • Heroic Build: The guy is like 80% muscle, with a relatively tiny head.
  • Not Afraid to Die: He takes death in stride, accepting that it's simply the way of a reckoner to fall in battle.
"If I fall so be it!"
  • Wrestler in All of Us: His bio says he's good at suplexing.

Minotaur Reckoner

6-Mana | 6/6

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/minotaurreckoner.jpg
"You pay, I fight."

"I don't care who wronged you or what they did. You need me to make it right in the pit, you pay up front. There's no discount for sad stories."

A famed Reckoner who makes bank off taking down assigned targets. He stuns the weakest enemy unit at the start of the round.

  • Consummate Professional: In his own words, he doesn't fight for any personal stake or vendetta, it's just to get paid ("[Except for] Draven. Because screw that guy."). note
    "Nothing personal."
  • Token Non-Human: The sole minotaur reckoner.
  • Victory Through Intimidation: Implied by how his passive works, where he scares the weakest enemy from engaging in combat.
    "Scared stiff, heh."

Savage Reckoner

7-Mana | 7/4 | Overwhelm, Challenger

”Next up, CLAWS! Last time was a BLOODY takedown versus the Psycho Five… now the Psycho Three. Allllright! Takin’ bets on today’s victim! Four to one!”
- Karl, Arena Bookie

Trifarian Assessor

5-Mana | 4/3

”It takes a ruthlessly discerning eye to select those worthy enough to become part of the Trifarian Legion, but she can sort the wolves from the sheep a mile away”
- Legion General

Trifarian Gloryseeker

2-mana | 5/1 | Challenger, Can't Block

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trifarian_gloryseeker_lor.png
"Sharpen the blade, secure the kill."

Earning a place in the Trifarian Legion is good enough for most, but not all.

Formerly a slave girl to the king of Urtis, she was liberated after the fall of the kingdom by Darius and offered a place in the Trifarian Legion.

  • Action Girl: Even as a slave, she had the guts to take a fireplace poker and smack Captain Farron with it (who, mind you, has biceps as big as her waist) just to get back her king's crown. This impressed Darius enough that he offered her a place in the Legion after disposing of the Ungrateful Bastard of a king who tried to execute her for daring to touch his crown and defy him.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: She joins the Noxian army partly out of gratitude towards Darius for saving her life.
  • Glass Cannon: A particularly extreme example. 5 Attack is beyond massive for a 2-cost unit, allowing Gloryseeker to trade against units far above her weight class when combined with Challenger, but with just 1 measly health point, she gets taken out by any sort of damaging spell or skill and is very unlikely to survive combat.
  • Slave Liberation: When her kingdom fell, she was given a chance to become something far greater than just a mere slave in the service of Noxus. She gladly welcomed it.

    Epic

Battering Ram

6-Mana | 0/12 | Overwhelm

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/batteringram.jpg
Heave!
-Darius

"Sir, they're refusing to open their gates. They've demanded to speak with Darius, but he's two days' ride away. Should we send riders?"
"Oh, that won't be necessary."

The Trifarian's Legion's fort-breaching unit. Every time it attacks, it gains 4 power.

  • Battering Ram: What Noxus resorts to in case a rival is being uncooperative.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: There's really not another way to interpret the name...
  • Magikarp Power: It starts out with a lot of Health and no Power, but every time it attacks, it gets 4 Power, and since it has Overwhelm, it'll deal damage to the Nexus if it's destroys a card with less Health than what could survive its hits.
  • Mighty Glacier: When fully scaled, tt's very strong offensively and defensively as its high Health allow it to tank some damage then deal back some real power.

Captain Farron

8-mana | 8/8 | Overwhelm

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captain_farron_lor.png
"Enough! I'll end this!"

Deep in Zaun's Sump, young Benn Farron was labeled a menace. Unstable. Unacceptable. In the ranks of Noxus he was embraced. Awarded. Unstoppable.

A mighty captain of the Trifarian Legion, Farron serves as a powerful siege-breaker. When summoned, he creates two copies of Decimate (5-mana Slow spell that deals 4 to the enemy Nexus) in the player's hand.

  • The Big Guy: He dwarfs the majority of Noxus champions in both stature and in-game stats - in the "After Victory" cinematic, he towers over Darius - and combined with Overwhelm, he can easily punch through the enemy's defenses.
  • Finishing Move: Farron's sheer damage potential makes him a very commanding finisher. If his enormous body backed by Overwhelm doesn't kill a limping opponent, the Decimates he gives you will.
  • Immigrant Patriotism: He is Zaunite by birth. But these days he is completely loyal to Noxus, and one of their fiercest warriors.

Kato the Arm

5-mana | 5/4

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kato_the_arm_lor.png
"It is me!"

"Shiraza is a great girlfriend—I mean friend—and we are in no way dating. But if we were, I would like her to know that I wish her a happy anniversary. Thank you, no more questions."

A muscular Reckoner, and the boyfriend of Shiraza. His Support ability gives his supported ally +3 Attack and Overwhelm until the end of the round.

  • Battle Couple: Fights alongside his girlfriend Shiraza in the arena. In-game, Kato and Shiraza have abilities that are pretty much built to synergize with each other, as Kato's Support allows Shiraza to more easily punch a massive hole in the opponent's Nexus health.
  • Dumb Muscle: He's implied to be not the brightest by Shiraza.
  • Fastball Special: It's implied that his Support ability consists of Kato hurling his ally at the enemy.
  • Immigrant Patriotism: It's stated in lore that he's Freljordian by birth, and comes back to the Tipsy Owl at least once a year.
  • Nice Guy: Despite being a muscle-bound gladiator, he's still quite jovial and friendly.
  • Pungeon Master: Kato seems to enjoy making puns on his own name. Even in the game files, his support ability gets the internal name "Katopult".
Kato: It's going to be a kato-strophe, haha!
Shiraza: (sighs) We spoke about this.

    Kato: What time is it?
    Crowd: Kat-o-clock!

Legion Veteran

4-Mana | 4/5

He returned from the war on the brink of death, restored only by his husband's touch and the apothecary's balms. Noxus spared no expense to ensure his expert counsel, long after his fighting years.

"It's killin' time!"

"He said what?! That man has bricks for brains. Can't fault those shoulders, though..."

A Reckoner and the girlfriend of Kato. She deals double damage to the enemy Nexus.

  • Battle Couple: Fights alongside her boyfriend Kato in the arena. In-game, Kato and Shiraza have abilities that are pretty much built to synergize with each other, as Kato's Support allows Shiraza to more easily punch a massive hole in the opponent's Nexus health.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: She uses a pair of large curved blades attached to her forearm guards as weapons.
  • Blood Knight: While Kato seems to be in it for the sport, Shiraza seems to enjoy the combat far more.
  • Fastball Special: Her art has her being tossed by Kato, ready to attack who she collides with.
  • Glass Cannon: 3 health for 4 mana isn't impressive at all, but if she manages to smack the opponent's Nexus, it will hurt.
  • Production Foreshadowing: Shiraza's blades, along with the Savage Reckoner's claws, can be seen behind Draven in the ''Awaken'' Cinematic in 2019.

"They believe that they are safe behind their walls."
-Swain

The elder's voice was surprisingly calm. "What, pray tell," he inquired, "is the point of gathering stones to build higher walls, when the Noxians always manage to toss them back over?"

A heavy-duty catapult engine used by the Noxian army. Citybreakers deal 1 point of damage to the enemy nexus at the start of every round.

  • Anti-Structure: They deal continued damage to the enemy nexus just by being in play every round. Their ability also supplements champions who benefit from nexus damage like Swain, Sejuani, and Gangplank.
  • Siege Engines: Of the catapult variety, vaulting stones to break enemy fortifications, or in this case, the enemy nexus. Several of these things pop up in other units' card art, implying the Noxian army has a sizable reserve of them to wage war.

Armored Tuskrider

"Humble creatures remade for destruction."
-Swain

"There's no stopping a warbeast once it's in motion—best just to get out of the way."
- Basilisk Rider

A tuskbeast (a large species of elephant bred in Noxus) fitted as a war mount. The Tuskrider is immune to all damage when struck by units with 4 or less power.

  • Cruel Elephant: It serves the Trifarian Legion as a massive vehicle of destruction. Swain implies that they had to be trained to do so, indicating they weren't always so bad.
  • Horse of a Different Color: Why ride a horse into battle when an elephant will suffice?
  • Implacable Man: These elephants will completely No-Sell damage from <4 power units, making them a huge threat to decks with lesser power. This becomes less of an issue though if the enemy can buff or summon stronger units who can damage the Tuskrider normally.
  • The Juggernaut: When played properly, they can power through weaker enemies to damage their nexus thanks to Overwhelm. Though this becomes less effective against later game units who can have even higher stats.
  • Nerf: Originally it could resist damage from <5 units, but this had to be dialed back for balance.
  • No-Sell: Only spells and +4-power units can harm it. Anything else that tries to block it will be in vain.
  • War Elephants: An absolutely massive one too, easily several sizes bigger than a real life elephant. And true to the trope, the flavor text and character interactions make it out to be a symbol of fear for its enemies.

The personal battleship of Swain. When summoned, you instantly draw a Swain from your deck. And at every round start, the card deals 3 damage to the enemy nexus.
  • Cool Boat: It's a massive steel warship the size of a city block, fitted with troops and artillery that deals 1 damage to the enemy nexus three times - which synergises amazingly with Swain's levelled up effectnote
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Decked in typical Noxian red and black, and a sign that an invasion fleet has arrived on shore.

Wrathful Rider

5-Mana | 7/3 | Challenger
