Ranma Saotome

16 year old heir to the Saotome School of Anything-Goes, nobody was more surprised when the usual bickering between Ranma, his friend-cum-rival Ryoga and his fiancée Akane ended up with Ranma dead than Ranma himself. He chose to be resurrected in the world of Belzerg, rather than pass on to the dullness of Heaven or the vagueries of the afterlife, and is determined to enjoy his second chance at life.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Ranma's fighting skills are manifold, and he's capable of wielding a wide variety of weapons, but his default method for dealing with monsters is to punch them really, really hard. This causes him trouble on his first quest, when he learns the hard way that Giant Toads are all but immune to punching, courtesy of their Kev Lard. His proficiency is such that it even results in him getting his own custom class, the Sennin, which is basically implied to be the best the Konosuba mechanics could do to accommodate Ranma's inherent "shonen martial arts protagonist-ness".
  • Jack of All Trades:
    • Ranma has a ridiculous array of skills he knows how to do at least semi-competently, due to a combination of growing up on the road and fending for himself as well as the multiple Martial Arts and Crafts styles he's had to defeat in his past life.
    • Ranma's Sennin class is called out as a beefed-up version of the Adventurer class, in that it's capable of learning a wide variety of offensive skills from other classes and even from monsters.
  • New Life in Another World Bonus: Being a KonoSuba protagonist, Ranma naturally was offered a divine boon (read: cheat) in exchange for becoming a resurrected adventurer in Belzerg. Ranma dismissed most of the offers, which were largely stat boosts and overpowered magical items that he didn't need, and instead asked for something deeply personal to him: total immunity to curses.
  • Not So Invincible After All: Despite his Super-Toughness, Ranma can be hurt and hurt quite badly. As proven in the prologue, where Akane manages to break his neck through complete accident (though, admittedly, her own Super-Strength and the absurd size of her projectile didn't hurt).
  • Past-Life Memories: A variant. Unlike the standard Isekai protagonist, Ranma wasn't some Ordinary High-School Student — he was a martial arts prodigy with an extensive history of victories and mastered styles under his belt. To reconcile the difference, the reincarnation mechanics gave Ranma his own unique class, the Sennin, and a massive list of pre-established skills, despite Ranma "only" being 1st level — in effect, turning him into a New Game Plus character.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: Ranma's signature ability is his Kachu Tenshin Amaguriken technique, which allows him to punch hundreds of times or more at such speed a human eye can't follow the movement of his hands.
  • Super-Reflexes: Ranma's ability to dodge or handle things with precision are called out as spectacular even by adventurer standards. A dumbfounded Luna, registering Ranma with the Axel Adventurer's Guild, notes that Ranma's Dexterity and Agility scores are "insane", outright declaring that she has seen Intermediate Adventurersnote  who didn't have ability score values this high, never mind that Ranma is only 1st level!
  • Super-Speed: Perhaps connecting to his Super-Reflexes, Ranma is capable of moving with incredible speed when he feels the need to.
  • Super-Strength: Ranma's Strength score is officially not as high as his Agility or Dexterity, but still much higher than even the exceptional norm. He proves this in the first chapter by killing Giant Toads with a single punch, once he's worked around their Kev Lard, and by dragging five of the station-wagon sized amphibians back to Axel singlehandedly.
  • Super-Toughness: Ranma's Vitality score is mentioned as being exceptional, albeit not to the same degree as his Dexterity and Agility scores. This translates into Ranma having high hit points and considerable resistance to damage.

Yunyun

A shy and socially awkward young girl, Yunyun is a member of the Crimson Demons; a Human Subspecies renowned for their incredible natural affinity for magic... and raging chuunibyou complexes. Possessing the former, but not the latter, Yunyun left her village as an outcast and ended up becoming an adventurer around Axel, which is where she meets Ranma Saotome...
  • Elemental Powers: Yunyun's access to Intermediate Magic gives her access to several powerful elemental attack spells, including Fireball, Lightning, Freezing and Blades of Wind.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Yunyun clearly looks down on herself as being a rather poor example of a Crimson Demon, largely because of her having failed to learn Advanced Magic before graduating like every other Crimson Demon does. She doesn't think about the heroic motivations behind why she chose to learn Intermediate Magic rather than continue hoarding skill points.
  • Human Subspecies: As a Crimson Demon, Yunyun's ancestors were genetically modified by one of Aqua's isekaid heroes with increased intelligence and enhanced magical aptitude. The glowing red eyes were something they asked him to add for coolness, as the chuunibyou complexes were something they had to begin with.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Yunyun's eyes are a bright crimson color, and they glow when she is feeling particularly emotional. Even Ranma notes the effect is kind of intimidating when he first meets her, but he's so used to weirdness that he takes it in stride.
