     Kenichi's Parents

Kenichi's Parents (Mototsugu Shirahama and Saori Shirahama)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/MototsuguDad_1960.jpg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/SaoriMom_1034.jpg
Voiced by: Daisuke Gōri (Mototsugu Shirahama, JP), Ai Orikasa (Saori Shirahama, JP), John Swasey (Mototsugu Shirahama, EN), Cynthia Cranz (Saori Shirahama, EN), José Luis Orozco (Mototsugu Shirahama, LA), Laura Ayala (Saori Shirahama, LA)

  • Alliterative Name: Saori Shirahama
  • Conspicuous Trenchcoat: Played for Laughs. Saori quickly catches on Mototsugu is trying to wear one during summer to sneak out Sebastian without her noticing. Of course she isn't fooled.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Mototsugu, as shown when he finally gets to use his gun.
  • Frying Pan of Doom: Saori has used it at least once on her husband when he tries to bring out his guns.
  • Good Parents: They are both very loving and supportive to their son and his decisions. Although Mototsugu initially didn't like the idea of Kenichi training at Ryozanpaku and tried to remove him by force, he relented once he got to know better the people tutoring his son.
  • The Gunslinger: Mototsugu presumably has no martial arts training, but is very good at using his gun.
  • Hammy Herald: Motosugu for his guns.
    ARISE, SEBASTIAN!
  • Henpecked Husband: Why doesn't Mototsugu get to use his gun more often? Saori vetoes in one way or another.
  • I Call It "Vera": Mototsugu calls his shotgun "Sebastian". His double barreled over-and-under shotgun, that is. He has a pump shotgun he calls "Maximillian". And a hunting rifle he calls "Rotowski".
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: Mototsugu gets a pretty damned good shot off by pointing his rifle backwards, underhanded while running in the opposite direction and not looking.
  • Papa Wolf: Mototsugu. He'd take on all of Ryozanpaku's masters to protect Kenichi from their training, armed with only a riflenote . And he does a pretty good job at it too.
  • Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: Downplayed example. As shown in the page pictures, Mototsugu looks fairly average for a man in his mid-forties, with the lines that show his age. Saori on the other hand, has a rather curvaceous figure comparable to most of the female cast, and looks no older than Shigure (who is barely above twenty) despite already pushing her forties.
  • Unorthodox Reload: Mototsugu reloads a Winchester rifle one-handed while carrying Kenichi...and evading Shigure.
  • Women Are Wiser: Saori is often more level-headed than her husband.

     Honoka Shirahama

Honoka Shirahama

Voiced by: Tomoe Sakuragawa (JP), Cherami Leigh (EN), Adriana Casas (LA)

Kenichi's younger sister, who cares for her brother greatly, often competing with Miu for his attention.

  • A-Cup Angst: She seems to have a complex about this after meeting Miu. Then again, she's just a preteen, and since her mom is rather busty herself, she won't have to worry too much about being flat.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Played with in that she doesn't annoy Kenichi (her blood brother) as much as she does Tanimoto (surrogate brother).
  • Big Brother Worship: She adores her older brother beyond measure. Later on she's shown to respond nigh-instantly to his commands.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Inverted. She's extremely protective of her older brother and initially suspicious of the Ryozanpaku Masters because she fears they are harming Kenichi.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: But in a very cute and adorable way. Despite her constantly getting mad at Miu, Miu always gets hit with Cuteness Proximity whenever Honoka is around, or "attacking" her, such as with a plastic mallet.
  • Hidden Depths: While at first her ability to always beat Apachai at Othello seems to be caused by Apachai's childishness, it is later discovered that even Akisame has trouble beating Apachai. We never get to see Honoka go up against the philosophical judo master.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Riding Apachi like a giant robot.
  • Morality Pet: She's the primary reason that Natsu Tanimoto loosens up after his introduction.
  • Replacement Goldfish: To Natsu Tanimoto, reminding him of his dead little sister.
  • The Thing That Would Not Leave: Tanimoto's self-proclaimed keeper.
  • Token Mini-Moe: The youngest, smallest, and cutest human in Ryouzanpaku dojo who is just there to play with the masters and check in on her brother.

     Sakaki's Elder Sister

Don't know her name, so sue.

  • The Faceless: Every time she is seen she is wearing a helmet. A flashback shows her without it but from behind.

     Saiga Furinji

Saiga Furinji

Son of Hayato Furinji and father of Miu.

  • Action Dad: He'a Miu's father and a martial arts master only surpassed by his own father.
  • The Atoner: Implied. He did fall to the Satsujinken for a time, though it was only because he wanted to avenge his wife's death, and he deeply regrets it.
  • Big Damn Hero: He rescues Kenichi and Miu and takes down multiple Master-class opponents, all while the building is burning. He really is the son of The Invincible Superman.
    • Occurs again, when he saves Miu from being killed by Senzui.
  • Fallen Hero: For a time, he was believed to be this by most of the Ryouzanpaku members. The truth was more complicated, see below.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Is blamed for the death of his wife due to Senzui pretending to be him and guiding Yami while using Saiga's appearance as a disguise.
  • Lightning Bruiser: How fast is he, you ask? He is about to cover Miu (with a bad case of Clothing Damage) with his coat. Hostile master-class fighters appear. He lets go of the coat. Everyone in the room is instantly curbstomped. He grabs the coat again. The coat hasn't fallen one millimeter from when he let go of it.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Is really Miu's father.
  • Martial Pacifist: Used to be this. Still capable of it where necessary.
  • Master of Disguise: Was actually John-san throughout the Captured Miu arc. To provide better context, John-san's appearance is as a short, obese man with a bumbling and jolly personality; Saiga is much taller, leaner, more muscular, much more serious, and he was wearing a three-piece suit with gauntlets and leg guards underneath the John disguise.
    • Does in again, this time as a government agent named Okumoto, who helps train the Shinpaku Alliance.
  • Papa Wolf: He didn't want to interfere in saving Miu, but ultimately Silkwat forced his hand.
  • Shipper on Deck: He's quite approving of Kenichi for protecting Miu.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's hard to discuss him throughout his two disguises without revealing it was actually him and that he's not actually the leader of Yami but Senzui taking his disguise.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: After helping to save the day in the final battle, he essentially vanishes and isn't even mentioned during the final chapter.

     Shizuha Furinji

Shizuha Furinji

Miu's late mother.
