The secondary Rider to Kamen Rider Shinobi.- Came Back Wrong: He takes a lethal blow for Rentaro just prior to the Tycoon Meets Shinobi special and is later revived by Amakusa as Hattari Yami.
- Childhood Friends: Is this to the Kagura siblings, Rentaro and Iroha.
- Enemy Mine: Yaminin's Assassin Plan has him team up with Yaminin of all people just to win Iroha's love. He later helps Shinobi when Yaminin kidnaps Iroha.
- Enemy Summoner: He can summon ordinary ninja via illusion.
- Finishing Move: Fantastic Ninpo: Hattari jumps into the air with a trail of wasps, initiating a Rider Kick with a swirling shuriken at his foot, before it being a bluff, transforming into a swarm of wasps as he appears behind the enemy and slashes at them.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Really, really doesn't like the fact that Iroha is head over heels for Shinobi and not him.
- Highly-Visible Ninja: He has bright orange armor, which makes him stand out quite a lot.
- Hopeless Suitor: Is in love with Iroha, who is head over heels with Shinobi.
- Humongous Mecha: Like Shinobi, his transformation is provided courtesy of a giant robot wasp which supplies weapons, armor and other equipment.
- An Ice Person: His Kachikochi Ninpo, he can send a gust of wind from his hand to freeze his opponents to absolute zero.
- Love Hurts: Iroha openly shows that she likes Shinobi and not him in Next Volume.
- Love Makes You Dumb: It’s like his IQ is halved due to his love for Iroha.
- Meaningful Name: His Rider form's named after the famous ninja Hattori Hanzo.
- It also means "bluff" and "deception".
- The Rival: The trailer describes him as the rival to Kamen Rider Shinobi.
- Wicked Wasps: The Wasp is his secondary animal motif.

- Abhorrent Admirer: Not so much because of her looks or personality but because the object of her affections is secretly her older brother, dooming her affections for Shinobi to failure. Best seen in the Next Volume when's she's glomping Shinobi's arm and Rentaro is obviously uncomfortable by the affection.
- Birds of a Feather: Bonds with Sara over the fact that they both have brothers that are a bit "hopeless".
- The Chosen One: She's the true inheritor to Shinobi, but she can only receive it when she turns 18, thus Rentaro acts as Shinobi as a Shadow Warrior till that time.
- Dude Magnet: Isamichi and Yaminin both like her.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Averted while she thinks she's the responsible sibling to Rentaro's foolish sibling, Rentaro just spends his time protect her instead of goofing off like she thinks he does.
- Loves My Alter Ego: She likes Kamen Rider Shinobi and is completely oblivious that he's her older brother, Rentaro.
- Mafia Princess: Is the current princess of the Rainbow Serpent Clan, though is seemingly unaware of this.
- Rescue Romance: Her crush on Shinobi is based on the many times he saved her.
- Smitten Teenage Girl: What she turns into if she's around Shinobi.

- Casting Gag: Just like his student, he's played by a former Super Sentai actor of a ninja-themed Sentai. In his case his actor portrayed Isshu Kasumi/Kuwaga Raiger of Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger.
- Frog Ninja: Even moreso than Rentaro, being able to turn into a frog in a wall scroll.
- Evil Mentor: Last Volume implies that he is merely using Rentaro for his own ends.
- Shapeshifter Mode Lock: By the time of the fake episode 46 (the Tycoon special), he claims to be trapped in the scroll.
Dark Ninja Army Niji no Hebi/Rainbow Serpent
In General
- Big Bad: They are Shinobi's main antagonists.
- Dark Is Evil: Their general and mooks are dressed completely in black.
- Government Conspiracy: Is stated to be the organization responsible for the bills and policies that transformed Japan into a Ninja-esque society.
- Shout-Out: The emblem of the Niji no Hebi takes cues from the emblem of the Blood Wheel Clan from Henshin Ninja Arashi, one of Shotaro Ishinomori's earlier works.
Yaminin

Portrayed by: Masashi Ebara (voice), Yasuhiko Imai (suit)
- Achilles' Heel: He's weak to light but lucky for him, the jutsu that creates light is very advanced so few can do it.
- Always Someone Better: He's this to Rentaro/Shinobi. While Rentaro has the skills to be a legendary ninja, Yaminin is much stronger.
- Animal Motif: The snake is his, shown in Shinobi's opening.
- Authority Equals Asskicking: Is the leader of the Dark Ninja Army and handed Shinobi his ass in their first one-on-one fight.
- Casting a Shadow: He uses dark ninjutsu in battle.
- Dark Is Evil: Is clad in all black and is the Big Bad of the mini-series.
- Evil Counterpart: He acts as one for both Shinobi and Hattori.
- Rentaro uses his talents as a ninja to protect the weak and his loved ones while Yaminin abuses his powers to win over his crush. Rentaro uses a variety of elemental jutsu while Yaminin only uses darkness based jutsu.
- Isamichi and Yaminin are both overzealous about their crushes on Iroha. The only real difference between them is Isamichi never goes to the depths that Yaminin is willing to do to win Iroha's heart.
- Evil Knockoff: He is a recolored Another Shinobi, which itself an evil knockoff of Kamen Rider Shinobi.
- Hopeless Suitor: Shockingly his entire motive is that he's in love with Iroha, who is head over heels with Shinobi.
- Murder the Hypotenuse: His entire goal is kill Shinobi so he can get closer to Iroha when she's distraught over Shinobi's death.
- Ninja Log: Used a log as a decoy when Rentaro saw him spying.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: He is absent from the crossover with Tycoon, with nary a mention as to whether he was redeemed, killed off or both.
- Wolverine Claws: As a recolor of Another Shinobi, the Yaminin suit still retains the ninja claws as weapons.
