Heroes
Ring: Green [Willpower]
The mysterious Green Lantern that protects the city. She appears to have some sort of history with Sunset Shimmer.
- Badass Creed:In brightest day, in darkest night,
All evil falls before my might,
To all who dare oppose what's right,
Beware my power, Green Lantern’s light! - Mysterious Stranger: Exactly who she is has yet to be revealed, however she seems to know Sunset very well.
Ring: Blue [Hope]
A mysterious Blue Lantern who is allies with the Green Guardian.
- Katanas Are Just Better: Despite her armor being that of a knight, she seems to prefer using a katana as her main weapon.
- Mysterious Stranger: Like her comrade, not much is known about her.
Anti-Villains
Ring: Red [Rage]
Princess Celestia's former student, after being denied the ascension she believed she deserved she fled to the Human World, where she eventually found a place to live with that world's version of her family.
Upon being caught in the middle of the Black Lantern's invasion, she is given the Red Ring of Rage.
- Anti-Villain: Sunset after she gets her Red Ring. She hates the Black Lanterns, but she plans to use the Ring's power to dominate the world and eventually Equestria. The only thing stopping her is the Green Guardian and later the Azure Knight.
- Badass Creed:In Vengeful Day, in Hateful Night
Let those who wronged me fear my might!
All those who oppose truest hate,
Shall see my ring and seal their fate! - Big Damn Heroes: Sunset comes to Scootaloo's rescue before a Black Lantern can kill her.
- Blood Knight: All too eager to throw down when confronted.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: While her relationship with her parents is strained to say the least, there are minor implications that she still loves them.
- Everyone Has Standards: Sunset may be a jerk and a bully, but she'd never leave someone to die, as shown when she saves Scootaloo from a collapsing building and a Black Lantern.
- Freudian Excuse: Being neglected by her parents in favor of her more talented older brother is the main reason why she's so antagonistic.
- Missing Alternate Counterpart: While her Human self is confirmed to have run away from home long before she came to the human world, what became of her is unknown.
- Parental Neglect: Shown to be the reason why Sunset is the way she is; Sunburst was her older and more talented brother who got all their parents' praise, while all Sunset got was "we expected nothing less" or "Sunburst did it better"... until eventually she snapped and cut off all ties to her family after she became Celestia's student. Upon arriving in the Human world Sunset almost immediately ran into her Human family, who were desperately searching for her hoping to make up for their mistakes. Sunset discovered that a similar scenario happened resulting in her counterpart running away and decided to use this development to her advantage, taking her human self's place.
- Smug Super: Getting the Red Ring made her more egotistical than usual.
Villains
A trio of evil Siren sisters who were banished to the human world from Equestria. Utilizing the power of their magical voices, they can enthrall nearly anyone. However, after witnessing Sunset Shimmer utilize the power of the Rings, they now plan to take that power for themselves.
As A Group:
- Animalistic Abomination: Their true forms appear to be this, we get a glimpse of Adagio's when she feeds off of the rage emitted from Sunset's Red Ring.
- Mind-Control Music: Their main ability.
- Comic Trio: They have aspect of this, mainly showcased when they end up bickering with each other.
- Compelling Voice: Their default power, however the effect it has on their targets tends to be limited by just how much negativity they can absorb.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite being at each other's throats on various occasions, they still care for each other.
- Nice Mean And In Between: Sonata is the most friendly of the trio, Aria is more mean and confrontational and Adagio is the most level-headed of the three.
- Villain Song: They sing their own version of the Hex Girl's iconic song: "Gonna Put A Spell On You", to lure out the Lanterns and bring them under their control.
Adagio Dazzle
The Leader of the Dazzlings.
- The Leader: Is the main leader of the trio.
- Smug Snake
Sonata Dusk
- The Ditz: The most Air-headed out of the three.
Aria Blaze
- Deadpan Snarker: The most vocal when it comes to discussing the group's plans, leading to her butting heads with Adagio on a regular basis.
- Parental Favoritism: Apparently their mother preferred Aria out of the three of them, leading to her being the target of most of Adagio's resentment.
Ring: Orange [Greed]
A female wielder of the Orange Lantern Ring, her main desire is to gather as much treasure as possible.
- Badass Creed:In coldest dusk and darkest dawn,
I summon forth the cruelest spawn.
I yearn for power, wealth and might,
To take what's mine, that is my right! - Energy Absorption: As an Orange Lantern, she can easily steal other people's energy.
- Shout-Out: She refers to herself as "Diamante Elegante", those who are familiar with the IDW comics should know that this is the exact same alias Rarity used during a wrestling match (issue #29 to be exact).
- With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Naturally, using the Orange Ring did a number on her mind.
Side-Characters
Canterlot High
Ring: Yellow [Fear]
- Ax-Crazy: Becomes this the moment she gets the Yellow Ring. Although her Pinkameana persona has shades of this as well.
- Badass Creed:Your greatest fears shall fuel my drive,
To slaughter all that are alive,
Behold the terror of my might,
I'm fear incarnate, flee from my light! - Blood Knight: As a Yellow Lantern she's eager to kill a slaughter anyone who gets in her way.
- Literal Split Personality: Her Pinkameana persona, which takes control once she gets the Yellow Ring.
- Slasher Smile: Sports one after getting the Ring.
Crystal Prep
Twilight Sparkle's human counterpart who attends Crystal Prep Academy. She is mostly anti-social an has no real social circle outside of her big brother and Dean Cadence. This changes when the Black Lanterns invade the city, resulting in more Lantern Rings arriving on Earth, she starts researching these new phenomenons, unintentionally befriending Rainbow Dash and Flash Sentry in the process.
- For Science!!: Her main reason for researching the power of the Lanterns the the powers of their Rings, her starring chapter is even titled "For Science!".
- Mad Scientist: Seems to showcase elements of this when she starts researching the Ring-Users and their powers.
- Science Hero: Researching the Ring's energy is one of her main passions.
- Ship Tease: With Flash Sentry.
Spike's canine counterpart and Twilight's loyal pet.
