Witches

     General
The Wytte's are a powerful family of witch's, with their name being predicted as the ones who will become the Witch King or Queen to lead the rest of the witches.
  • Big Little Brother: Both Dani and Dorian after the time skip end up towering over their brother Damien, who used to be taller than them.
  • Family Theme Naming: There's Dorian, Dani and Damien. There's also Hans and Hilde, as well as Amir and Aisha.

     Daniela Wytte

Daniela (Dani) Wytte

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/18_85.jpg
Click to see her after the time skip

A young witch and Dorian's twin sister. She's more cheerful, bubbly, and outgoing than he is, although she has a harder time controlling her magic.

  • Afraid of Their Own Strength: She is afraid that she could kill someone with her magic. Considering her raw power and lack of control, this fear is fairly justified.
  • Badass Adorable: She's cute as a button and very powerful.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Dani is a sweet kid, but don’t hurt her loved ones. She goes on a short Roaring Rampage of Revenge when Alex is stabbed.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She's the older of the twins, and does what she can to look after Dorian. She's also incredibly protective of Dorian, pulling him away when Will grabbed him and cursed Nico when he pushed her brother. The final straw that broke her sanity was when she believed Dorian was killed, allowing her powers to consumer her entirely, leaving her as a powerful witch, but a hollow puppet.
  • Break the Cutie: The whole series is one for her. She does get better eventually.
  • Broken Bird: Post timeskip, when she thinks Dorian has died.
  • The Chosen One: Deconstructed. The prophecy that involves either her or Dorian is not about saving the world, it's about which one will go bad and become the King of Witches. Turns out it's about Dani.
  • The Corruptor: The evil spirit she assumes command of from Alice and Romas has proven to be a poor friend, instead luxuriating in her despair over watching 'Dorian' die and essentially dominating her personality.
  • Costume Evolution: She has several of these.
  • Creepy Child: She's usually sweet, but she has her moments...
  • Curtains Match the Window: Black hair and eyes.
  • Cute Witch: Is a witch, and very adorable.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Is dressed all in black until she doesn't want to be a witch anymore for a time and isn't evil at all. Played straight when after the time skip, she's become the Witch Queen and has destroyed countless villages.
  • Demonic Possession: Her evil spirit companion has slowly grown in strength, allowing it to possess her on occasion after the time skip.
  • Despair Event Horizon: When she thinks she's seen Dorian die.
  • Dull Eyes of Unhappiness: She has these after the time skip.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Post time skip.
  • Emotional Powers: Her powers get stronger when she feels distressed or angry. This comes into play the most when Alex gets killed, leading to Dani to use her magic without a wand and even float in the air.
  • Empty Shell: What she truly in Post Time Skip, due to cursing herself to never feel pain again she has lost all her emotions and will thus letting her be controlled by the evil spirit and her vengeful mother.
  • Face–Heel Turn: After the time skip, when she thinks Dorian has died, she becomes incredibly detached from the world and is the cause for a lot of death. Subverted, she's an empty shell that's been listening to her mother and the evil spirit.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The foolish to Dorian's responsible. She usuallly does things out of impulse and gets into a lot of trouble due to her clumsiness.
  • Genki Girl: She was one of these in the beginning, and then things started going downhill...
  • Half-Identical Twins: With Dorian. They look almost exactly alike but have very different personalities.
  • Heroic BSoD: She experiences the most tragic events in the story. The first after Alex is killed. Then her father is killed. And this all culminates into the B.S.O.D of B.S.O.Ds when she believes Dorian has been burnt at the stake.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: After she's nearly burnt at the stake, Dani has no desire to be a witch anymore. She ends up getting back into using magic later on after she's brought back to her sanity and wants to let normal people and witches get along.
  • Important Haircut: Dani cuts her hair short when she resolves to give up her magic.
  • In-Series Nickname: Dani is short for Daniela.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Her name is Daniela, but she usually goes by Dani.
  • The Ophelia: Post time skip. After thinking she sees Dorian die, her mind deteriorates. We later see her with hair that falls down to her waist, teary eyes, and with her barely able to remember any of her friends.
  • Plucky Girl: Dani was nearly burned at the stake, but retains her optimism and strong moral fiber. After Dorian manages to snap her out of her stupor as the Witch Queen, she manages to regain her plucky personality afterwards.
  • Power Floats: When going all out after Alex' death she floats and casts without a broom or wand.
  • Precocious Crush: She has a crush on Mark, who’s 5 years older than her. Later on, the two end up deciding they're Better as Friends.
  • Puppet King: As the Witch Queen, Dani is clearly not doing any of the ruling as her mother or other witches set out the rules, as she's been devoid of emotions since Dorian's death. She's basically just a figure head and uses her powers against those her mother deems as traitors or adversaries.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: She has jet black hair and white skin.
  • Sanity Slippage Due to a lot of Break the Cutie moments, after the time skip, she barely resembles her younger self, physically and mentally.
  • Ship Tease: She gets some moments with Mark, although they end up remaining as friends. She later on starts getting more and more moments with Nico. Towards the end of the series, they aren't an official couple, since they both accepted Dani still needs time to recover, but both are clearly open to a relationship were it to happen.
  • Start of Darkness: It's hard to tell, but it seems this happened after Alex was killed and it just gets worse from their with each tragedy. Her sanity fulls plunges into the deep end when it seems like Dorian was killed and she then becomes crowned as the Witch Queen, terrorizing the land for years to come.
  • Stepford Smiler: She tries to be a happy, cheerful girl, but it's clear nearly being burned at the stake and seeing a friend murdered shook her more than she wants to admit.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Not obvious at first, but as she wears dresses less and less, becomes the Tomboy to Monica's Girly Girl.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: She is incredibly powerful, but has trouble getting her spells right. She's even able to cast spells without the need of a wand, when her sanity starts taking a turn for the worst.
  • Will They or Won't They?: The series ends like this for her and Nico. Dani acknowledges his feelings for her and seems to reciprocate, but in the end, it’s just not the right time for that kind of relationship.

     Dorian Wytte

Dorian Wytte

Click to see him after the time skip

A young witch and the twin of Dani. He's more bookish, studious, and socially awkward than she is, although he's better at controlling his magic.

  • Ambiguous Situation: Post time skip. Is he alive or dead? As it turns out, he's alive, but barely.
  • Badass Adorable: Like Dani, he's a cute kid, and incredibly powerful.
  • Badass Bookworm: He loves to read. He can also memorize any spell he’s read, and perform it almost perfectly on the first try.
  • Barbarian Long Hair: When he’s first found after being comatose for three years.
  • Berserk Button: Just try to hurt his friends or family, especially Dani or Monica.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Like Dani, Dorian is a sweet kid, but don’t hurt his loved ones. He seriously contemplates black magic when he sees Dani about to be burned at the stake.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Well, more like twin brother instinct, but the first hint that he could possibly become the king of witches happens when he attacks the soldiers that injured Dani. He nearly grievously injures a group of witches that were attacking him and an unconscious Dani.
  • Bookworm: He's more intellectual and studious than Dani, which makes learning spells easier for him. He's also usually reading a book in his spare time.
  • Break the Cutie: The series just seems out to get him. While he manages to hold out and keep his optimistic views, Dani wasn't as lucky.
  • The Chosen One: Deconstructed. The prophecy that involves either him or Dani is not about saving the world, it's about which one will turn evil and become the King of Witches. While he was a prime candidate in terms of his spell casting, Dani was the one who became the Queen of Witches.
  • Creepy Child: He has his moments, even taking a armful of scrolls that contained spells for curses and deadly potions. Even Damien points out how bad this makes Dorian look.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Black hair and eyes, like his sister.
  • Cute Witch: Just like Dani.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Like his sister, wears all black, and is not evil.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He can be very subtle with his insults, especially at the beginning with Monica.
  • Dissonant Serenity: After Dani is badly injured and he starts an ice storm on those who hurt her, he's smiling. It creeps Monica out.
  • Dragon Rider: He later gets a dragon for a pet like he's always wanted.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: He tries to be the responsible one, as he's the smarter of the two siblings and helps to clean Dani's messes.
  • Friend to All Living Things: He seems to have a fondness for animals as he kept his fire-toad Carlo, is always eager to go into the woods if it means finding new creatures and even gets a pet dragon later on.
  • Half-Identical Twins: With Dani.
  • He Is All Grown Up: After the time skip and a haircut.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Dorian is very socially awkward, and tends to mess up social encounters easily.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: When he finds Dani as the Witch Queen he constantly tries to reach out to her and remind her that she is not a bad person. It takes a long time for him to reach out to her, but he eventually does.
  • I Will Find You: After separating from Monica to get to Dani after their mom kidnaps her, he makes this promise to her.
  • Kid Hero All Grown-Up: Slightly Averted. After the timeskip, Dorian is found emaciated and barely alive, with long nails and hair, a far cry from his old youthful self. Once he gets a haircut and some food in him he becomes quite the looker.
  • Manly Tears: He cries often.
  • Manchild: As he put himself into a coma when he was still thirteen, he worries that after the timeskip, that although he's physically sixteen, he’ll still have the mind of a child.
  • Morality Pet: He's usually there for Dani and always calms her after a particularly traumatic events occurs. When she believes he died, she completely loses her sanity and becomes the Witch Queen. It's mainly Dorian who brings Dani back from her depression and insanity at the end of the series.
  • Nothing but Skin and Bones: After he's been found comatose for three years, he looks appropriately enough half dead. He gets better after some rest and food.
  • Offering a Hand: Dorian offers Monica his hand for her to escape the tower she was trapped in.
  • Official Couple: The series ends with him and Monica openly together and happy.

     Damien Wytte

Damien Wytte

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7d5549c1_9ff3_4b93_a0bd_6ce3469ba68b.jpeg
Click to see him after the time skip

A young man who lives at Monica’s castle and was a butler to the king, childhood friends with both William and Monica and the older brother of Dani & Dorian.

  • Aloof Big Brother: To Dani and Dorian.
  • Ambiguously Gay: A lot of his behavior around William seems to suggest a crush, but it’s unconfirmed. Things are made even more confusing when Damien wakes William with "true love's kiss" after giving another character a speech about how they didn't necessarily have to want him romantically to wake him. Though he does express reluctance about doing it himself. Not so ambiguous anymore as Damien admits to William that he’s in love with him and the both of them have always known that. The problem is William, who doesn’t seem to know what he wants for himself.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Although he's mainly aloof and does things for his own gain, he still looks out for Dani and Dorian as he even protects them from the other witches when he can.
  • Cathartic Crying: While confronting his mother after she loses her magical powers, courtesy of Monica, he hugs her and cries about how he just wanted her to forgive him.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Before the twins were born, Damien accidentally exposed that his family were Witches to the townsfolk when he was playing with other children. This culminated into riots against the Wyttes and their mother nearly burning to death on the stake, which was what triggered her Sanity Slippage and utter despise of non-magic users.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Like most witches, wears all black, but isn’t evil. But he's not above doing dirty work to get what he wants.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He sometimes has his lines.
"The side of Good? (...) Oh no, not at all! I risked everything to release a war criminal like you and run away with him just because I believe my parents' plan is really cool!"
  • Exhausted Eyebags: He has dark circles beneath his eyes, that doesn't go away even after the time skip.
  • Gone Horribly Right: It was his plan to make a perfect double for Dorian so William's father would assume he’s been executed, that way the actual Dorian could save their sister without having to worry about mobs attacking him. It worked way too well as not only does everyone else think he’s dead, but so does Dani.
  • Momma's Boy: He loves his mother, and is fine with outright saying he enjoys her company.
  • Mystical White Hair: Is a witch with white hair.Which makes him stand out amongst his family as the rest of the Wyttes have jet black hair.
  • Not So Stoic: Damien always has a straight face, until he loses his temper. Or when he's around William. Or when the scene is particularly heartwarming. Then he might crack a smile and then immediately stop when someone points it out.
  • Open Secret: At the end of the series in some extras, he serves as William's right hand and keeps him updated on the kingdom. This leads to William attempting to flirt with Damien while pretending it was all connected to his duty as a king since he's still technically married to Monica; although for purely political reasons at this point. The entire castle staff doesn't buy it and clearly see that the two are in love, and happily gossip about Monica being into Dorian.
  • Tsundere: This is usually with William, it seems he has slight tsundere tendencies as he gets embarrassed + angry with affection and can even go as far as hitting William for trying to kiss him.
  • Luminescent Blush: Damien can always been seen being unnerved by small factors, blushing easily to lots of things throughout Hooky; particularly around William.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Is very emotionally distant and cold, but has soft spots for William, Monica, and his younger siblings, Dani and Dorian.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: He was a happy kid, and then he was outed as a witch, which led to his mom being burned at the stake. Even though she survived, the experience drove her mad, leading his parents to revenge.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Even as a small boy of around 7 years, he understood how twisted the mindset of his parents had become and how the witches' school was indoctrinating its students, and manipulated his parents to remove himself from this toxic environment to live at the castle.

     Pendragon

A clairvoyant that takes in Dani and Dorian as his apprentices at the start of the series.

  • The Atoner: Because No Good Deed Goes Unpunished, Nico's mother was executed for being a suspected witch when Pendragon healed a fatally ill Nico and she chose not to reveal her benefactor. He becomes this again after he realizes that his more extreme actions have only caused more harm.
  • Heel Realization: He comes to one when he realized that fatally poisoning Dorian (unsuccessfully) did not achieve anything at all.
  • The Mentor: Downplayed. While he seems to do very little teaching beyond expository levels of magic, he is a greater clairvoyant than witch, and clairvoyance can't be trained like ordinary magic. He also wasn't initially planning on having apprentices for very long, after all.
  • My Greatest Failure: Being unable to bring himself to kill two children in cold-blood to avert a bloody schism between witches and non-magicals.
  • Parental Substitute As People: Despite his good intentions, he completely holds Nico at arms-length due to feeling complicit in his mother's death for being a witch, which resulted in their estrangement. In fact, he even fails to recognize that Nico is a clairvoyant like himself.
  • Precrime Arrest: Plans to kill both Dani and Dorian before either of them can become the King of Witches.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: Despite his initial plans and opportunities to kill two children in cold blood to prevent the rise of the King of Witches, he cannot bring himself to do so. Ultimately averted when he fatally poisons Dorian before the time skip.

     Angela Wytte

Angela Wytte

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ekran_resmi_2020_03_10_233032.png

The mother of Daniela, Dorian and Damien, and wife of Hans Wytte: a witch who once narrowly survived being burned at the stake and now wants revenge against normal humans and a better position for witches.

  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Even with the ghastly scar on the side of her face being extremely prominent, even Monica can't help but describe her as beautiful despite it.
  • Braids of Action: Wears her hair in a long braid.
  • Brought Down to Normal: An incredibly deadly and powerful witch whose powers rivals her children's. Thanks to a potion Monica concocted for Dani to take away her magic, she uses it on Angela instead, causing her to basically become a normal person.
  • Evil Matriarch: The mother of the Wyttes, and pushes her family and witches in general towards a war against normal humans.
  • Freudian Excuse: She was nearly burned alive on the stake, and got severely hurt in the process. While pregnant. Whith her husband and son watching. For something her little son did and which wasn't illegal besides. Afterwards, she's jaded and vengeful.
  • Good Parents: She genuinely loves her children, and before her ordeal she seemed to be a good, caring mother.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: She has a large burnscar covering the left side of her face, as a result of her nearly being burned: it marks her as highly morally ambiguous.
  • Mother Makes You King: Literally. After learning about the prophecy that one of her children will become king of the witches, she guilt-trips/forces Damien to rise against the normal humans and become the new ruler.
  • Physical Scars, Psychological Scars: She has a burn mark on the left side of her face, which she received after Damien as a child accidentally outed their family as witches and was burnt as a result.
  • Sanity Slippage: after being burned on the stake, she becomes colder, blames everything on non-witches, and single-mindedly focuses on revenge.
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: After being nearly burned alive for being an evil witch, she becomes an evil witch.

     Hans Wytte

Hans Wytte

The father of Damien, Daniela and Damien Wytte, husband to Angela Wytte and Hilde Wytte's twin brother: a witch that pushes an anti-non-witch agenda.

  • Evil Eyebrows: Has, thin, arching eyebrows, same as his sister, and does some reprehensible things.
  • Good Parents: He loves his children and used to be a caring father.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: After his wife nearly got burned on the stake, was traumatized and became unresponsive for weeks, he promised her to do anything she wanted to help her, and Angela wanted revenge - so he pursues it.

     Hilde Wytte

Hilde Wytte

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hilde_wytte_180103.jpg

The twin's and Damien's aunt, Hans Wytte's twin sister.

  • Equal-Opportunity Evil: When discussing the "King of Witches" with her brother, she is quite vocal that the king could also be a queen.
  • Evil Aunt: She is the protagonists' aunt, and evil: she abducts princes, wants to have Snow White killed, and generally endorses politics to elevate witches over normal humans.
  • Evil Eyebrows: She has thin, arching eyebrows, same as her brother, and does some reprehensible things.

Humans

     Monica

Monica

Click to see her after the time skip

A princess who comes to Pendragon to point her in the direction of William, her betrothed. She starts off spoiled and wanting to find William, but soon learns what a hero really is.

  • Arranged Marriage: With Prince William. While she marries him, she and William fall for other people making their marriage a purely political one.
  • Break the Cutie: She gets involved in the witches' uprising, gets told of a prophecy involving two of her friends, and sees her parents murdered.
  • Break the Haughty: She's at first haughty and rude, but after she gets trapped in a tower and needs to be rescued she is a bit more self-aware.
  • Character Development: Monica goes from spoiled and prejudiced against witches, to a more worldly girl who uses magic herself and eventually calls herself a witch.
  • Damsel in Distress: Monica wants to be a hero at first, but she undergoes a huge Break the Haughty when she gets trapped in a tower and needs to be rescued.
  • Everyone Can See It: Over time, her feelings for Dorian starts to grow, so much that others commenting on it make her immediately deny it. After the story in the extras when Will and Damien are "discussing" the kingdom's politics, the staff gossip about how clear it is those two are in love, and how even Monica had been making eyes at Dorian.
  • Fantastic Racism: She starts off as prejudiced against witches, but eventually grows out of it.
  • Hidden Depths: Is completely human, but after the time skip, she was able to train herself to become a witch.
  • I Will Wait for You: Promises Dorian this when he goes to rescue Dani. But since he's gone missing, she's given up on him.
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: She has long hair as a child, though after the time skip, it's cut to her shoulders.
  • The Lost Lenore: Post time skip, Dorian is this for her, as no one knows if he's alive or dead.
  • Official Couple: After everything they’ve been through, she and Dorian finally get together by the last arc and are shown to be very happy in the last chapter.
  • Pink Means Feminine: Is very feminine and wears pink a lot. Even her hair is pink.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: Once she accepts her feelings for Dorian, Monica is this with William. Even though their engagement is now for political reasons, they’re still Childhood Friends and care for each greatly. And even though there are no romantic feelings between the two of them, Monica and William are okay with going forward with marriage for the kingdoms sake.
  • Plucky Girl: Is incredibly resilient, and rarely stays broken for long.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Is a princess, and is a major influence on the plot.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: While she seems like a classic princess, when she gets Character Development, she's much braver and tougher than she looks. This is taken to ten in the time skip, when she has taught herself some magic.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: She ends up developing feelings for the sweet, intelligent Dorian.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Although Monica has been raised with everything she wants, she's sweet, determined and tries her hardest to help her friends.
  • Thinks Like a Romance Novel: Got hooked on romance novels shortly before meeting Dani and Dorian, and started insisting against her arranged marriage with Will, believing that she should choose the person she should marry on her own and that Will wasn't her true love because she was in an arranged marriage with him.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Is the Girly Girl to Dani's Tomboy.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Post time skip, she has taught herself some magic and calls herself a witch.
  • Tsundere: Is very sweet, but can be prickly and abrasive, especially to Dorian. She mellows out a lot, but still retains plenty of these aspects.

     Nico

Nico

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/19_3_copy.jpg
Click to see him after the time skip

One of the first people Dani and Dorian meet on their journey. He lives with Pendragon.

  • Born Unlucky: Nico’s sadly the Butt-Monkey of the cast. He doesn’t have a family, he feels unloved by his guardian, deep down he has an inferiority complex, and the girl he likes is crushing on his Childhood Friend. Not to mention Dani accidentally shrinks him and despite all the efforts to fix it, he always finds his way back to being shrunk.
  • Crush Blush: Around Dani.
  • Fiery Red Head: Has orange hair and quite the temper. This usually leads him to getting into trouble, such as causing Dani to accidentally curse him so he's the size of a doll for a good portion of the story.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: It isn't true, but it’s how he sees himself.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: His early antagonism against Dorian was due to jealousy due to Dorian being The Ace when it came to magic when no matter how hard he tried, Nico couldn't use magic. His current frosty relationship with Mark is due to the feeling that Mark has surpassed him.
  • He Is All Grown Up: Skinny, big-eared Nico is quite different post timeskip, not only getting a major growth spurt and a more manly build, but also a ponytail.
  • Ship Tease: He slowly starts to genuinely grow feelings for Dani, and gets annoyed at her being attracted to Mark. Even after Dani loses her sanity and becomes the Witch Queen, he stays by her side to look after her and attempt to call her back.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: He’s secretly jealous of Dani and Dorian, Dorian in particular. He truly wants to be a witch, believing Pendragon would pay more attention to him if he was. He ultimately gets his wish, as he turns out to be a clairvoyant.
  • Lovable Rogue: He’s not a criminal, per se, but he certainly appears that way.
  • Love Martyr: He ends up as one for Dani, post time skip. Despite her barely resembling herself after her Sanity Slippage, he stays by her side for three years.
  • Manly Tears: He sheds these occasionally.
  • The Promise: Nico promises to always be by Dani’s side. Post time skip, even though Dani has become a Broken Bird and no longer resembles her younger self, he’s honored that promise.
  • Sad Clown/ Stepford Smiler: He’s a joker who seems to be a happy person. Secretly, he wants to be a witch and feels abandoned.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: After everything he suffered, Dani finally reciprocated his feelings.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Dani. Despite what happened to her and how poorly she treated him, Nico stayed by Dani’s side through the 3-year time skip.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Nico deeply wants Pendragon to be proud of him but Pendragon is too scared of potentially dooming Nico that he ignores the poor kid.
  • Younger Than They Look: Despite how he acts, he’s 2 years older than the Twins. Averted after the time skip.

The local baker's son, and Dani's crush.

  • Badass Normal: The Twins are Witches, Nico has clairvoyance, and Monica eventually trains herself to be a successful witch. Mark on the other hand is good at making sweets and enters every fight with just brute force.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Towards the younger kids, especially Nico.
  • Book Dumb: He was held back a year in school.
  • Even the Guys Want Him: At least a few of the guys have been seen swooning with the girls over his good looks.
  • Chick Magnet: Mark is very good-looking with a lot of girls noticing.
  • Nice Guy: He helps the younger kids whenever he can.
  • Oblivious to Love: It’s not made very clear if he’s aware of Dani’s blatant crush on him. Even if he is, he’s showed no signs of reciprocating. He also seems to be oblivious to Aisha's feelings towards him post-timeskip.
  • Only Friend: In the past, he was this to Nico.
  • Supreme Chef: His family owns a bakery, so Mark has the most cooking experience of the main cast.
  • Younger Than They Look: Alex honestly thought he looked old enough to drink.

     Will

Will

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/will_9.png
Click to see him after the time skip

The prince and Monica's fiance. He disappeared early in the story.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Damien and Monica call him Will.
  • Ambiguously Gay: With Damien. Hours before his political wedding to Monica, William confronts Damien about whether or not he’s actually happy with the engagement. It’s pointed out that the both of them are well aware of how much Damien is in love with William, but William isnt too certain what he wants for himself. After he and Monica decide that their marriage isn't going to work out, he playfully teases Damien and saying he thought Damien would be please that his and Monica's marriage didn't work out, causing Damien to blush furiously and threaten to knock him off his broom. Played with some more when he and Damien get drunk and William looks like he's about to kiss Damien but hesitates, asking why Damien isn't trying to push him away. When Damien says he wants this, William blushes and runs out of the room embarrassed.
  • Arranged Marriage: To Monica. They stay married for political reasons but it's obvious they both love other people.
  • Childhood Friends: With Monica and Damien.
  • Distressed Dude: His disappearance triggers Monica's whole arc, as she wants to rescue him.
  • Forced Kiss: Played for laughs. In the past Monica notes that William is terrible at romance and when he admits he doesn't want to kiss her, she asks if there is someone he wants to kiss. He turns to see Damien and attempts to give him a kiss, to which Damien reacts by angrily pushing his face away. This hints at his growing romantic feelings for Damien, compared to his arranged marriage with Monica.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: His father, the King, is well known for his prejudice and hatred for the Witches. William inherited none of this.
  • Open Secret: While he and Monica still marry each other for political reasons, they both understand and accept that they've fallen in love with different people. In some extras after the story, he flirts with Damien, and attempts to make it look like they're discussing kingdom politics. The entire castle staff sees right through it and start gossiping about the two.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: With Monica. Over the course of the series any potential romance between the two of them dwindles once Monica realizes her feelings for Dorian and Damien and William’s relationship is given more light. However, the two of them are still close Childhood Friends and they’re content with having a political marriage and giving up on other potential romances because If It's You, It's Okay.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: He's a prince and a far cry from useless.
  • True Love's Kiss: How he has to allegedly be woken up from a cursed slumber. After Monica admits to not being in love with William, Damien then admits he's not "dying" to kiss William (while he's asleep; but he knows he'll wake up for sure if he does. Hinting that Damien is in love with William.

     Aisha

Aisha

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aisha24sheislookignawaypng.png
Click to see her after the time skip

The princess of another kingdom, Amir's sister.

  • Badass Normal: She fights against a dragon, alone, without magic, and doesn't get hurt and likely would have slain the dragon if the fight wasn't interrupted.
  • Older Than They Look: at her first appearance, Aisha is 17, but looks younger than the 13-year-old twins.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: When a dragon threatens her country, Aisha takes a bow and arrows, sword and shield, and manages to severely wound it.
  • Tomboy Princess: The short-haired, trouser-wearing, dragon-ass-kicking daughter of a queen.
