     Lucita Sky
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucita_sky.png
Voiced by: Veronica Hortiguela
Lucita Sky while gifted with the superpower of flight, she also deals with a fear of heights, and is still learning to balance her unique dilemma. With the support of her friends who will literally catch her when she falls, she has nothing to fear.

Lucita offers the same support, acting as a caring friend and with a strong sense of empathy that motivates her desire to help others and make the world a better place.

At home, Lucita is encouraged to always expand on what she knows. With a superhero family, that can mean a whole lot, but she's always up for the challenge. Bilingual in English and Spanish, you may occasionally find her switching between languages as she fires off new ideas or works con sus amigos a resolver un problema.

  • The Cutie: She's very idealistic and has a great deal of compassion and empathy for others.
  • Flight: Lucita can fly naturally, although she fears heights.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: She uses Spanish sometimes, but not as much as Mr. Sparks.
  • The Heart: When her teammates are down, she will show a great deal of empathy and compassion to bring them back up.
  • Ironic Fear: Lucita Sky has the ability to fly, but if she looks down while she's flying she gets dizzy from a fear of heights, so she has to avoid looking down to make full use of her flight.
  • Ironic Name: Lucita Sky is a girl who can fly, yet she's afraid of heights.
  • The Leader: Lucita Sky usually serves this role among the four students.
  • Meaningful Name: "Sky" is a fitting surname for her because she can fly in the sky. "Lucita" might be a reference to The Beatles song "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".
  • Nice Girl: She's an empathetic leader who is enthusiastic about helping others.
  • Phenotype Stereotype: She's a Latina with brown skin.
  • Purple Is Powerful: She wears a purple cape and boots, and she is a very powerful heroine.
  • Superheroes Wear Capes: She wears a cape, and is the only one in the crew to do so.
  • Token Flyer: Lucita Sky is the only member of Sparks Crew capable of unaided flight.
  • Western Zodiac: Her birthday is on March 9, making her a Pisces.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She fears heights and gets dizzy when she looks down from a high place.

     AJ Gadgets
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ajcanvasbio.png
Voiced by: Jadiel Dowlin

AJ Gadgets is a superhero obsessed with all things super! His own powers include thought projecting, which allows him to visualize his own thought process, and makes a great tool for the team to strategize. AJ also falls alongside some of the superhero greats, like Iron Man or Batman, who use their creativity and intelligence to create gadgets that help them help others. He never goes anywhere without his backpack, which houses all of his gadgets, and doubles as a jetpack!

If you want to see AJ really excited, just mention your interest in another superhero. He can likely tell you their entire biography within the blink of an eye, along with what tools they use most often. His knowledge of the subject can occasionally seem extremely hyper-focused, which is likely due to AJ’s position on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum.

  • Awesome Backpack: His backpack stores all his gadgets and can also function as a jetpack.
  • Black and Nerdy: AJ is the brains of Sparks' Crew. He can project thoughts from his mind and is an expert gadget maker.
  • Character Tics: Whenever he's overwhelmed, AJ flaps his hands to calm himself down. This is a common stim for autistic people such as AJ.
  • Fanboy: Of pretty much every superhero there is. He can infodump about any famous superhero at the drop of a hat.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: AJ is great at inventing gadgets that he and his friends can use. He invented a working robot in "An Uphill Task", which he entered in the science fair.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: AJ's "thought projection" is also an ability rarely seen in superhero media, but his thought projection has perfect memory recall and can call attention to details that prove essential in solving the problem at hand.
  • Jet Pack: AJ uses a jetpack to fly, mostly when the Sparks' Crew is navigating the city.
  • Literal-Minded: AJ has a tendency to take things literally. For example, in "Hatching a Plan", when Sara says "already a step ahead of you AJ", he replies "you're actually a bit behind me". Literalness is a trait of autism.
  • Meaningful Name: His surname refers to his ability to create gadgets.
  • Mental Picture Projector: AJ can project his thoughts for others to see. This aids in brainstorming for the creation of his gadgets, and also for formulating plans with his team. Unlike most examples, he does this of his own volition instead of being forced to by aliens. He isn't psychic in the standard sense, eiher. The ability only works for him and can be used as a cross between a projector and a notepad or blueprint maker.
  • Nice Guy: He takes his superhero duties very seriously.
  • Older Than They Look: AJ nearly lampshades this when he mentions that he is 7 years old despite his adolescent voice.
  • Only Known by Initials: We don't know what AJ stands for.
  • Photographic Memory: He has a razor-sharp memory. His thought projections are quite detailed and accurate when referencing previous events.
  • The Smart Guy: The most intelligent of the team.
  • Twofer Token Minority: AJ Gadgets is both autistic and African American.

     Sara Snap
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/saracanvasbio.png
Voiced by: Stephany Seki

Sara Snap may be small in stature but her big heart and personality can quickly give her the spotlight in any room. Her superpowers include super strength and the ability to teleport wherever she needs to go at the “snap” of her fingers. Powers like that can be hard to control, and Sara’s slightly impulsive nature has led her to become a part of some unintended situations, but she takes whatever life throws at her in stride!

Coming from a mixed Japanese-American family, Sara gets to live a unique lifestyle, and as a result is always ready to learn about where other people are from. Sara is always ready to shout encouragement as loud as possible to the rest of the Sparks' Crew. She’s enthusiastic in just about everything and even when things don’t go according to plan, Sara is ready to try again until the task is complete. Problem solving is arguably her greatest strength. Of course, that’s assuming you ignore her ability to lift a car.

  • Alliterative Name: Sara Snap.
  • Big Eater: Sara plays this straight despite her small size. In "Monster Hunters", the "small snack" she has looks like an average restaurant kids meal. It's possible her huge appetite may be due to her abilities.
  • The Big Girl: While she's the smallest of the team, Sara is the strongest and toughest.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Sara has Super-Strength and can teleport.
  • Facial Profiling: She's an Asian who has almond-shaped eyes, unlike the others, who have full circle eyes.
  • Genki Girl: Sara Snap is definitely a feisty ball of energy whenever she's passionate about something.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Sara wears her hair like this.
  • Kryptonite Factor: The episode "Sara Loses Her Snap" reveals that Sara Snap loses her powers for a day when she eats coconuts as shown when accidentally eating a coconut flavored power bar. This becomes a problem when the team has to move a giant hamburger out of the way.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Sara is known for acting before she thinks, usually when it involves her super-strength being used to accidentally make things worse.
  • Meaningful Name: Her surname refers to her ability to teleport with a snap of her fingers.
  • Nice Girl: She's the team's personal cheerleader, and is quick to volunteer to help.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Sara Snap is the shortest of the four students, but in addition to her teleportation she also has super strength, so she is the strongest of the four students as well.
  • Sick Episode: "An Uphill Task" has Sara getting sick on the day of an invention fair that AJ is taking part in. The invention he presents is a special robot so that she can see what's happening while not actually being there.
  • Stereotype Flip: Sara may be small, but she's tough. Benny, the big one, is meek, so they avert Mighty Whitey and Mellow Yellow.
  • Super-Scream: She can yell very loud as shown in "Leaning Tower, No Pizza". This may be linked to super-strength in her diaphragm/lungs.
  • Super-Strength: Her power. She can even break the floor just by stomping on it.
  • Super-Strong Child: She's a little kid with Super-Strength.
  • Teleportation: She can teleport anywhere with a snap of her fingers.
  • Teleport Spam: Sara Snap has the ability to teleport by snapping her fingers, so she can travel quickly if she snaps her fingers multiple times.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: It's implied at times that she can alter her own weight:
    • In "Plant Problem", she pulls down hard on a climbing rope and it breaks: the result of a strong-but-light person should just be that they lift into the air. The amount they can pull downward is limited to their weight or the weight of whatever they can anchor to them. This may indicate she accidentally increased her own weight which was why she was able to pull down hard enough on the rope to break it without rising into the air.
    • She is able to vault off a sandcastle without destroying it, perhaps by reducing her own weight to nearly weightless for a brief moment.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Coconuts cause her to lose her powers for a whole day, as shown in "Sara Loses Her Snap".

     Benny Bubbles
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bennycanvasbio.png
Voiced by: Stacey DePass

The biggest, and also most empathetic member of the Sparks' Crew is Benny Bubbles. While he may look like he’s on his way to being a football star, Benny wears his heart of gold on his sleeve, and is the friendliest superhero around.

His superpower is the creation of bubbles, which has a number of awesome uses, including acting as shields, being a place for Lucita to safely fall if she comes in for a hard-crash landing, and as a tool for Benny to use to jump wide and far.

Benny is always ready to protect his friends and innocent bystanders. However, Benny’s biggest love comes in the form of animals. Closest to Fur Blur, the class hamster, Benny is always ready to jump and help if he sees an animal in danger. He may loom larger than most of his classmates, but put a puppy in front of him and Benny will quickly show you his soft side.

  • Acrofatic: Benny has a bit more weight compared to everyone else, yet he's still effective at being a great hero. His size appears to be natural as opposed to him being overweight.
  • Alliterative Name: Benny Bubbles.
  • Animal Lover: Benny loves animals, especially Fur Blur.
  • Big Eater: Despite his big size, Benny actually avoids this.
  • Bubble Gun: He can shoot bubbles out of his fingers. He uses them for protection, cushioning, floating inside them, or to navigate the city.
  • Childish Tooth Gap: Benny is missing a tooth. This also give him somewhat of a Non-Standard Character Design, as all of his teeth are visible separately.
  • Floating in a Bubble: Benny sometimes does this, like in "Saved From the Bell".
  • Friend to All Living Things: He adores all animals, and will help them in any given episode.
  • Gentle Giant: The largest member of the team, and the kindest.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: The kindest member of the team, and he has blonde hair.
  • The Heart: He's the heart of the Sparks' Crew, being the kindest and gentlest member.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Benny Bubbles' ability to create bubbles is an ability rarely seen in superhero media, but the students primarily do rescue missions, and bubbles are useful for catching people from falls or airlifting people out of danger. Benny is also able to place bubbles on his feet to allow him to jump higher and farther, which allows him to keep up with Lucita's flight, Sara's teleportation, and AJ's jetpack.
  • Nice Guy: Takes his superhero duties very seriously.
  • Stereotype Flip: Benny, the big one, is meek. So him and Sara avert Mighty Whitey and Mellow Yellow. Sara is also a big eater, unlike Benny, who's chubby.
  • Token White: Benny is the only white member of the main cast.
  • Western Zodiac: His birthday is on February 29, making him a Pisces.
  • Youthful Freckles: He has freckles on his face.

     Mr. Sparks
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mrsparks.png
Voiced by: Carlos Díaz
Every superhero crew needs a fearless mentor, which is the role Mr. Sparks fills every day! Ready to encourage his students in English and Spanish, Mr. Sparks always has a smile on his face and is ready to suggest a new method to learn to control one’s powers. His students don’t know if he has his own superpowers but some of the stuff he does seems pretty extraordinary.

Of course, Mr. Sparks also helps teach some of the most important superpowers the Sparks' Crew can learn, the Superpowers of Science! Problem-solving in science is an important skill to know and Mr. Sparks is always ready to walk through the next steps to keep his students on track and super!

  • Character Narrator: Mr. Sparks, in addition to being the heroes' teacher, is also the one who narrates the episodes.
  • Cool Teacher: Mr. Sparks, who teaches the heroic elementary school students. As his method of teaching, he usually avoids giving his students the answers they seek right away; instead, he usually asks them guiding questions to help them think critically and figure out the solutions themselves, after which he congratulates them.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: Mr. Sparks often inserts Spanish into his dialogue. So does Lucita, albeit more rarely.
  • Mentor Archetype: Comes with being a teacher to superheroes in training.
  • The Team Normal: Possibly. If he has any super powers, he has yet to display them. That said, the lessons he's been teaching the class has been standard elementary-level science, superpowers only coming into play when the students choose to use them.
  • Token Adult: The only adult in the Sparks' Crew, as he's their teacher.
  • Western Zodiac: His birthday is on July 13, making him a Cancer.

     Fur Blur
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/furblur_0.png
Every class needs a pet, even superhero classes. Luckily for the Sparks' Crew their hamster, Fur Blur, is pretty super by her own accord. With the ability to zip past everyone in the blink of an eye, her name is a good fit. Of course, super speed is nothing compared to Fur Blur’s insatiable appetite for carrots. Don’t leave a bag out for even a second, otherwise you’ll blink and all that’s left is a trail of carrot pieces back to her cage!
