Allied Abyssals

With the Abyssal War in a stalemate, the various fleets have responded in different ways. Where some continued on with the mindless, pointless conflict, others have decided to side with Humanity. Beware though: Unmarked Spoilers ahead.

    Shared and Miscellaneous Tropes

    Pacific Allies
Consisting of several fleets: Hoppo's original fleet and their successors The Fleet of Laughter, Wanko's fleet in the Timor Sea, and The Twin Princesses within a day's sail of Yokosuka.
  • Action Girlfriend: Nemo to Takumi. She's an Abyssal Cruiser who could conceivably march her way through anything a ground army could throw at her that isn't a nuke and laugh it off until other shipgirls show up. To be fair, Takumi is the male version of this, considering he's a very squishy Ordinary High-School Student but didn't even panic when she sailed right up to the beach in front of him as their first meeting.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Sunny, an Abyssal Battleship Demon from the Fleet of Laughter, is typically a very silly type. However, she is also credited as one of the single best surface combatants of the fleet—demonstrated when she jumped a would-be ambush fleet and slaughtered them all with her bare hands.
  • Cool Big Sis: Although not legally a member of the Nagato family, Hoppou and Harry both consider Wanko as their older sister.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: Aeroprin/Blackie Smokie has a tendency to repeat herself at times, repeat herself at times. This is presumably due to taking such heavy damage that she came close to death back when Hoppou's fleet was attacked in Unalaska, and only surviving by forcibly evolving into an Air Defense Princess. The near fanatical dedication she showed to hunting down the Abyssals who betrayed the Little Laughter probably didn't help, either.
  • Everyone Knew Already: Nemo's relationship with Takumi. While it's still more or less secret by those knowing Takumi, until an accidental discovery by Akagi, Nemo however was found out almost immediately. Her siblings and the Twin Princesses find it adorable. To the point that virtually the entire OTHER meaning behind the second treaty event was to allow the two to walk around in public without hiding. She kind of blows a fuse over this, briefly.
  • Genius Loci: Wanko was Forlorn Shores Princess, the embodiment of the sorrow of those who lost their loved ones to sea. However, Sub-Continental and Research Princess managed to De-power her to a mere Harbor Princess.
  • Gentle Giant: Wanko in particular, but even Shrinking Violet Regina is 6 foot 5, so the same is likely true of Re-Classes in general.
  • Hot Librarian: Supprin is this to a tee, if more a secretary (which can be just as hot). As in, Wanko's Secretary of Commerce, Energy, and Labor all rolled into one. There are very good reasons why she's considered Ooyodo's Abyssal counterpart. And a certain studious Weasley has most definitely noticed.
  • Mundane Utility: Most Abyssals use their ability to manipulate weather to raise storms that make modern weapons systems unable to get a positive target lock. Wanko uses this ability to cool the Timor Sea area during the summer, so humans can visit without boiling to death.
  • Neutral No Longer: Wanko really didn't care much one way or another about the other fleets of the Abyss... Up until they tried to kill Hoppou.
  • Retired Monster: Tanya, one of the first Allied Abyssals, was a bog-standard battleship devoted to her duty. After taking a critical hit in a raid, she was captured and then shown kindness by the doctor who was brought in. Years later and even after having been repaired, her admiration for the doctor is so great that all she wants is to stay by her side.
    • Renita, a Re-Class that Hoppou built, had such a powerful demon that she eventually lost herself to it. However, in spite of being lost to madness and leaving the Fleet of Laughter, she returned to Unalaska during The Scattering, and the ensuing battle was so intense that Renita's demon utterly burned itself out, to the point where Renita is now literally incapable of feeling anger or aggression.
      • And even when she was lost to her demon, there are no end of reports of her defending human vessels from hostile Abyssals.
  • Revenge: Aeroprin's reasons for hunting down and killing her fellow Abyssals. She was once a destroyer in Hoppou's fleet, and believed that Hoppou had been killed by Abyssals who did not like that she had no interest in fighting humans so long as they left her and her territory alone.

Atlantic Allies

In the Atlantic, there rules Porta Abysseum Atlantia (formerly the Ancient Atlantic Gateway Princess), the last of the Elder Princesses, who seeks to secure the safety and prosperity of her subjects, at the expense of The Abyss.

Ancient Atlantic Gateway Princess / Porta Abysseum Atlantia
The last (majorly active) Elder Princess of the Abyss. Her only interest in the war her sisters started is to end it. Because Peace is Profitable, and she intends for her subjects to live to see it – with her on top of course.
  • Defector from Decadence: Unlike her sisters, Porta saw from Day 1 that declaring war on Man was a dumb idea and that it would end up in Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies. So she buggered off as soon as she felt she could get away with it.
  • Due to the Dead: Porta made it a point to carefully recover the bodies of humans from the wrecks she salvaged, identify them as best as possible, and arrange for them to be safely returned to their homelands for burial.
  • Genius Loci: Porta represents Man's lust for Land, Gold, and Empire across the Atlantic in the New World, with the Azores and Canary Island chains as her Seat of Power. The islands being major stopovers for those early expeditions and colonization, literally "Gateways in the Atlantic."
  • Glass Cannon: To maximize production of as many hulls as possible, Porta deliberately chose not to change designs of her fleet units, so the hulls of a Ta-Class Battleship fresh off the slip in in-universe present day of 2014 is exactly what a Ta-Class built in the 1980s would have been (circa 1914 for human steal hulls). But she has compensated with putting max R&D into new guns, modern propulsion machinery, Anti-Air defense to make late war US Navy ships blush, and Radar and Targeting equipment equivalent to the late 1940s, on top of continuous training of their crews. This means that while they cannot, unit by unit, take the damage of their modern Abyssal counterparts amoung the Barbarian fleets, they are scary accurate with their return fire, said fire will outrange any Abyssal not similarly modernized, anything hostile in the sky will die, and they will ALWAYS outnumber you.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Yes, she is fighting on the side of Humanity. Yes, during her time siding with her sisters, she was very benevolent ruling the Azores. Yes, her dream is to have a prosperous realm where the seas are at peace, and her subjects can live a life untouched by war. But break her laws, or defy her decrees about Humans and Abyssals being equal to the law, or be a terrorist in her lands, and you will be begging for death by the time she is done with you.
  • Heel Realization: Porta, after hearing that Isley couldn't tolerate the Dementors of Azkaban, initially dismissed her defeat as being due to a lack of recon. Upon later getting a taste of their aura through Reivina, she was ultimately forced to reassess her opinion.
  • The High Queen: Ancient Atlantic Gateway Princess when holding court, in private she's an unashamed mistress of intrigue who believes in the Divine Right of Kings, the power of the coin, and is currently working to secure peace between her realm and the humans to make sure that the Abyssals under her rule in the Atlantic aren't all killed. With her as The Emperor, of course.
  • Meaningful Rename: "Ancient Atlantic Gateway Princess" is a very apt and descriptive name... Unfortunately it's a mouthful and doesn't lend itself to an easy nickname. So when meeting with Man in order to secure peace, she rapidly offered an easier name... In the style of the Romans: Porta Abysseum Atlantia.
  • Modest Royalty: Porta does not wear the typical attire of royalty... Actually, she doesn't wear much at all. I guess you could call her Immodest Royalty.
  • The Mole: Porta, upon being forced to flee the Azores, had ten of her most loyal subordinates infiltrate enemy Abyssal fleets to alert her to any planned activity that would affect her. One of them, Hel, was so loyal that when it came to a choice between self-preservation or evading and alerting Goda Princess's fleet to an incoming attack from Porta's fleet, she quietly accepted her fate.
  • Properly Paranoid: Porta's reason for allying with humanity is because she felt that humans would be inventive enough to develop weapons that could annihilate the Abyssals, and wished to spare her fleet of that experience. Recently, Porta's daughter Angband got a front-row seat to the Irish cruiser LÉ Scáthach deliver a blow that broke the back of a band of hostile Abyssals with her Gáe Bulg note , thereby proving Porta was quite right about how inventive humans are.
  • The Purge: Two! The first was sending out The Wrongful Heir to the Throne and those loyal to her to die against St Brendan's. Next, loyal agents of hers had infiltrated neighboring fleets to engage in a false flag long game operation to get said neighbors to kill each other.
  • Royal "We": Refers to herself as "we" when tending court, speaking to foreign dignitaries, really anywhere that isn't in private.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Particularly when her warmongering sisters were alive and dictating policy.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Her name is consistently spelled in official chapters "Porta Abysseum Atlantia." However, an unfortunate number of readers in the forums call her Portia or Atlantica.
  • Stripperiffic: While the Abyssals are not known for being exactly conservative in their dress, Porta is jokingly called "the one that doesn't like clothes" among readers - Her top is in essence a pair of straps maintaining the illusion of decency, and her skirt is two panels of fabric held on by a clip.
  • Token Good Team Mate / Token Evil Teammate: Was the former while with her sister Elder Princesses, refusing to slaughter humans, and now the latter with the Humans, delivering ruthless punishment to enemy Abyssals.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: Porta's subjects adore her like a living goddess. Humanity are more... Wait and see.

Ocean Liner (War) Demon / Demonic
The physical manifestation of all civilians killed in the crossfire of Man’s wars at sea, from Unrestricted U-Boat campaigns to Caribbean Piracy, from the days of Steam to the days when ships were glorified dugout canoes. The Ocean Liner Demon has but one goal in her existence: The exacting revenge on the Warships that drained treasuries just by existing, and murdered innocent men, women, and children.
  • The Dreaded: No one in Porta's fleet dares cross The Ocean Liner Demon's ire... And lives.
  • Fantastic Racism: Ocean Liner Demon does not care for warships. At all. Even being quoted by another character that "The only good warships are the ones that never left the drafting table." But bear in mind, she is the manifestation of every civilian or non-combatant ship and person killed in the cross fire during war at sea. Of course she is going to assume All Warships Are Monsters!
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: Being less an individual and more of a mass manifestation of grudges means there are a lot of souls willing to sacrifice themselves in the name of making sure the rest of the mass can carry on with the killing of warships.
  • Happiness in Slavery: Ocean Liner Demon is content to be subjugated by the Princess. Because otherwise, she would be nothing but The Berserker, murdering without restraint. See Restraining Bolt.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Among Porta’s fleet, she is a walking death sentence waiting for a person to happen to. So when she is kind to anyone at all, it is both something to marvel at, or dread.
  • The Power of Hate: The Demon can survive things that, frankly, no Abyssal should be capable of. Her response? '"My Hate is too strong."'
  • Restraining Bolt: When she was first spawned, Ocean Liner Demon was insane with Hate and Rage, and it was only by being magically enslaved by Porta that she was able to control her own actions.
  • Unstoppable Rage: The Demon’s default state. It is only Porta’s enthrallment using her Power as an Elder Princess of the Abyss that keeps her sane, if not personable.

     Reivana and Stab
Porta’s favorite among her fleet, a brilliant genius of a Re-Class, if a bit… “Off.” And Stab is her tail… Who she experimented on into become a, quote, “Abomination of Science.”
  • Aborted Arc: It’s pretty clear that the Abyssinia segment of the cast was supposed to focus on Reivana trying to make diplomatic connections with Humanity… But the author found Porta much more interesting a character to play with.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Stab, Reivana the Twilight Sparkle Re-Class's tail whose intelligence she ascended with application of Blasphemous Abyssal Eldritch Bullshit.
Hi! I'm Stab, and I'm an abomination of Science!
  • Mad Scientist: No…! Really? An Abyssal that put Steampunk electrodes into her own tail’s brain to make him talk, and used a modified naval mine as an experiment with having a boyfriend? Being a Deranged Scientist? Perish the thought! To be fair, she is ‘’much’’ more stable than other examples of the trope. Having a bodily attached sanity conscience no doubt helps.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Or in Stab's opinion, bodily attached to an idiot.

     Angband
Porta’s surviving daughter. An experiment with Dynasty, Porta was disappointed that Angband was not born an Elder Princess like her sister. Porta came to regret this when her chosen heir turned out to take after her sisters rather than herself. Angband in contrast has proven to be much more like her mother, and Porta is working to correct that hasty choice in the past, actively cultivating Angband’s positive traits into a proper successor.
  • Meaningful Name: Porta must have found a copy of The Silmarillion at some point, because she named her daughter after the stronghold for the OG Dark Lord.
    • During Operation UNDERTOW, Angband comes up with one of her own, concocting the alternate identity of 'ETERNALLY Sunlit Imperial Viceregine Armored Carrier Princess' to get some hostile Abyssals in the Pacific to fatally underestimate her. The joke, of course, is that Angband is serving as Porta's de facto viceregent as Commander of the Abyssinian Expeditionary Force at the time. And that Porta has a big crush on the Age of Empire such as the Spanish and British Empires 'upon whom the sun never set'....
  • Spoiled Sweet: Angband, Porta's only surviving natural-born daughter. She's a very nice (and sheltered) girl and the singular warship that the Ocean Liner Demon can stand to be around for long periods of time. That said, when Angband has to fight Beware the Nice Ones applies as some Pacific Abyssal ferals learn the hard and painful way....

The Elder Princesses

Whereas nearly all Abyssals can be sourced to another Abyssal having birthed or constructed them, the installation-type Elder Princesses, are spawned 'ex nihilo,' having no parent but The Abyss. Of the modern generation, there are Central Atlantic, Sub Continental, Nordic Horde, Ancient Atlantic Gateway, Arctic, Middle World Ocean, and the Pacific Princesses.

    Central Atlantic Princess
Arguably the Strongest of the Elder Princesses in physical Might. She embodies the churning, violence of the Atlantic's storms, with the very Atlantic Ocean itself as her Seat of Power.

    Sub-Continental Princess
The other contender of Strongest of the Elder Princesses, and certainly the most Bloodthirsty. Taking the form of the Hindu War and Death Goddess Kali, she murdered her own fleet as much as humanity, enjoying every minute of it. Thus India and Pakistan both joined up to put her down. Maybe.
  • Berserk Button: Absolutely despises Spice Island Princess.
  • Chaotic Evil: While Central Atlantic simply loved fighting and killing. Sub-Continental just liked killing. Brutally if she could manage it.
  • Genius Loci: Embodies the cultural and Religious violence and war specific to the Indian Ocean, with the island of Diego Garcia as her Seat of Power.
  • Hindu Mythology: Has a form of a white-skinned Kali.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Gave no consideration at all to how her actions would motivate Humanity in their inevitable retaliation. See "No Kill Like Overkill."
  • I Am a Humanitarian: In what can only be described as PTSD Flashback, Porta relives a thankfully brief moment where Subcontinental just casually kills one of her own fleet by ripping off her arm and casually eating it. It's implied that she not only does this on the regular, she does it more because she can rather than anything else.
  • No Kill like Overkill: With the chaos of Blood Week rampaging the world, Sub-Continental enjoyed being out of reach of Man's normal methods of taking her out, leaving her to build a literal throne of skulls and butchered bodies for her to lounge on. When the drone footage of that reached India, the Military decided that their response would be appropriate and measured. Leading to Nuke 'em
  • Not Quite Dead: Turns out that Sub-Continental wasn't as dead as presumed, even after taking a nuclear strike head-on.
  • Nuke 'em: How Man took care of her, turning her seat of power into a radioactive cinder. We hope.

    Nordic Horde Princess
The Vikings Reborn, Nordic Horde and her fleet ravaged to North Sea, and spent the centuries before the war kidnapping humans for her Thralls.
  • Berserk Button: Mentioning Northern Trade Princess's Last Stand was a good way to send Northern Horde into a frothing rage.
  • Genius Loci: Represents the violence of the Vikings and they raped, pillaged and burned across upon Northern Europe, with her Seat of Power being among the fjords of Scandinavia.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Prided herself in her combat prowess, and sought out honorable battle against a worthy foe... Then a damaged, fully-loaded RAF fighter kamikazed into her.
  • I Have Many Names: Collected a surprising few for someone that wasn't known to Man for more than a few hours: Nordic Horde Princess, Northern Horde Princess, or Northern Raider Princess.
  • Undignified Death: As a Viking Otaku, Nordic Horde lusted after nothing greater that the ideal Vikingr death on the battlefield. So imagine her humiliation at having died in the first 10 hours of Blood Week, without killing so much as a single person.

    Challenger Deep Princess
The Embodiment of the Unknown, her realm is the lowest parts of the Challenger Deep (hence the name). Thus far only Trieste knows some idea of her, having had a brief encounter during her one mission there as a steel hull.
  • Genius Loci: Represents the lightless crushing unexplored depths of the deepest parts of the oceans, and conceptually the Unknown Secrets that the Seas hold, with the Challenger Deep portion of the Mariana's Trench as her seat of power.
  • Hidden Elf Village: It doesn't get more hidden than the lowest point of the planet. So hidden in fact that not even her own sisters realize that she exists.
  • Made of Iron: To other Elder Abyssal Princesses, Challenger Deep would crush them. To her, it's her home.

    Middle World Ocean Princess
The Elder Princess of the Mediterranean Sea, more interested in digging up information on the Bronze Age than in the Here and Now.
  • Conspiracy Theorist: Middle World Ocean was obsessed with The Sea People that caused the end of The Bronze Age, claiming that they were precursors to the modern day Abyssals. She was right, but by the time she found proof it wouldn't do anything for her.
  • Genius Loci: Represents the long, storied history that covers every inch of the Mediterranean Sea, with Malta and it's millennia of being front and center to that history.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Rather than trying to win the war that was going on around her, Middle World threw her fleet around blindly so that she could focus on her hunt for proof of the existence of Bronze Age Abyssals. And by the time she found it, Man was closing in, her fleet was in shambles, and she had no option other than to fight her way out of the Med to Porta's territory... Who then promptly killed her because she was the only Elder Princess left other than herself, meaning Humanity could now focus on her.

Ancient Atlantic Gateway Princess, aka Porta Abysseum Atlantia
See Atlantic Allies

    Forlorn Shores Princess
See Pacific Allies

    Arctic Princess
The cold, heartless Princess of the Grim Up North, apathetic to everyone and everything around her.
  • Genius Loci: Represented the cold, inhospitable wastes of the far north, and Man's vain hunt for The Northwest Passage, with her Seat of Power being either the passage itself, or the North Pole.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Arctic never cared about any of her sisters, nor her own fleet, choosing to sequester herself among the frigid wastes of the Arctic circle... And thus had no one to back her up when the monsters of Canada and the combined American, Canadian, and Russian air forces cut her down.
  • Ice Queen: As literal as you can get. Basically, take most of the negative traits, none of the good ones, and you have Arctic Princess.

     Treacherous Cape Princess
Cape Horn Personified, loved nothing more than to play with her victims. Tormenting them. Then give them hope of escape, just to take it away at the last minute, and let them live just long enough to savor their despair before at last killing them. Doing emotionally what Sub-Continental did physically.
  • All There in the Manual: She has yet to appear in any snippets or chapters, official or otherwise. All that we know of her is what was discussed in the threads.
  • Genius Loci: Represents the especially harsh, brutal storms of the Cape Horn, her seat of power being Tierra del Fuego.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Speculated that her own death involved a Humiliation Conga: Tried to take on a rival either during or after Blood Week, failed, took her frustrations out on a pod of whales, ran afoul of a particularly powerful Lakuma - a local legendary monster that views such things as a horrendous taboo - was left to die, found by her fleet, begging for help... And they just smiled and left, just as she had down to hundreds, possibly thousands of humans.

    Monstrous Cape Princess
Much like Treacherous, only for the Cape of Good Hope.

     Tropical Pirate Princess/Caribbean Buccaneer Princess
The Golden Age of Piracy personified. One of the weakest, but most cunning of the Elder Princesses.
  • All There in the Manual: Only seen in reference to her daughter Sores.
  • Ax-Crazy: Was fully on board with wiping out humanity. However...
  • Cool Boat: Her former Throne as an Elder Princess Sea Wolf, which is a steampunk sumbmersible sailboat, is now used by Sores as a floating base of operations.
  • Dirty Coward: Would have preferred to trick humanity into wiping themselves out with nuclear weapons rather than do it herself.
  • Genius Loci: Represents the pirate 'free ports' of the seventeenth century where cunning pirates and privateers played the larger powers against each other for profit.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Had the idea to trigger World War III with a series of targeted attacks on Soviet and Western military vessels during the late 1960s at the height of the Cold War. Once humanity nuked themseves flat then she was going to strike to prey on the weakened remnants. When that failed she was gearing up to try again when her more bloodthirsty sisters in Central Atlantic, Nordic Horde, Subcontinental, and Treacherous Cape Princess did her in so they could have their 'fun' with humanity.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: In addition to her being taken out because she wanted to try for another stab at triggering World War III, the primary reason that her plan failed the first times is that the magical world such as MACUSA covered up the supernatural causes of the losses of several submarines in such a way to make it appear that it was not the other side of the Cold War causing them in an effort to keep the Statute of Secrecy intact.
  • One-Night-Stand Pregnancy: DAMMIT, JACKIE!
  • Pirate Booty: Hit several ships from the Treasure Fleets of 1622, 1715, and 1725 after summoning a storm to damage and scatter them. The bullion fromt hem was later dug back up by Sores and Foxfish.
  • Pirate Girl: Most definitely was one, albeit of the more bloodthirsty and nasty sort because she is an Abssyal. So is her daughter Sores who is a somewhat nicer person.
  • Submarine Pirates: Her Modus Operandi very often, and something that her submarine daughter Sores uses.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Complaining about her sisters screwing up her plans to fatally weaken humanity in said sisters' earshot after her first attempt failed. She didn't get a chance to try for her talked-about second attempt.

Barbarian-Subduing Princess Pacifying the Eight Corners of the Oceans (AKA - PEPTO-BISMAL)
The embodiment of the Ming Treasure Fleets, and of Chinese Imperial domination across South East Asia for thousands of years.
  • A Twinkle in the Sky: Was literally sent flying when a battle against her sisters on Mount Krakatoa caused it to start erupting.
  • Fat Bastard: Having never ever moved under her own power, she became so corpulent that she no longer could move herself.
  • Fatal Flaw: Sloth caused by excessive Pride was the key to her death. Killing her palanquin bearers and tricking an artillery strike into hitting her location made her easy prey for Hoshi.
  • Foil: To Porta. Where they both are the embodiments of desires of Imperial conquest and subjugation, Barbarian-Subduing Princess had absolutely no restraint.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Was killed by Hoshi using an illusion to make Barbarian-Subduing Princess's subjects who were launching an airstrike and massive naval barrage aim it at the wrong square on the map. Which she was stuck in at the time.
  • Hubris: Barbarian-Subduing Princess was the embodiment of the hubris of Imperial Japan and Imperial China. All of the arrogance for arrogance's sake.
  • Large Ham: Let's just say she could have made Nobu-Chan green with envy, had they been allowed to meet. Her name says it all.
  • The Neidermeyer: Was one in her short and inglorious career, sending her subordinates out to die to gain her glory.
  • Overly Long Name: To date, her name is by far the longest of all the Elder Princesses, and as this list will show, there are some real mouthfuls out here. Not even shortening to initials - BSPPTECOTO - helps. Leading to the Fan Nickname Pepto-Bismol.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Viewed all other races as barbarians. One Heavy Cruiser Demon leading the strike on the Kingdom of Foxes was informed that it was the other way around via Pre-Mortem One-Liner.
  • The Slacker: Hoo boy. Barbarian-Subduing Princess was so lazy, she had Abyssal eunuchs to carry a palanquin, just so she didn't have to walk. Walking, after all, was beneath her.
  • We Have Reserves: As befits someone who was the embodiment of several cultures that placed little value on the life of their soldiers, she was willing to expend large portions of her forces without hesitation.

    Spice Islands Princess AKA Spice
The embodiment of the Spice Trade and twin sister to Sub-Continental Princess.
  • Genius Loci: Representing the Spice Trade starting in Southeast Asia and India.
  • King Incognito: Has been masquerading as a Food Supply Demon in order to avoid being drawn back into the war.
  • Martial Pacifist: Much happier helping the downtrodden and plying her trade than fighting. But give her no other option and...
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Where Sub-Continental is a warmonger bent on slaughtering humanity, Spice is prefers peace and helps humanity and Abyssals whenever possible. Needless to say, they don't get along.
  • Soul Power: When Tamama was mortally wounded by a Ta-Class, Spice yanked the Ta's soul out of her body and allowed it to dissipate into the ether so she could give Tamama a new body.

    Northern Trade Princess
The less romantic, less exciting side of the Vikingr embodied, Nordic Horde Princess' twin sister.
  • Died Standing Up: After a long battle that resulted in the fight having to take place Atop a Mountain of Corpses, Northern Trade stabbed Nordic Horde through the gut with a spear and flung her down to smite Central Atlantic with her body, then used that spear to prop herself up. Sensing weakness, Nordic Horde ran up the pile to decapitate her... Only to find her already dead, but with weapon in hand, and on her feet.
  • Genius Loci: The seaways and waterways the merchant Vikingr used to trade and 'convince' trade with the locals.
  • Irony: Nordic Horde considered her a 'milksop,' a weak, pathetic excuse of an Abyssal. And yet hers was a death Worthy of Valhalla, and Nordic Horde's... Wasn't
  • Martial Pacifist: Like the rest of her faction, she was very much opposed to the plans for genocide called for by her sisters. So much so her twin Nordic Horde called her a coward. See Irony

     Antarctic Twin Princesses
Twin Installation Princesses who have set up shop in Antarctica.
  • Benevolent Monsters: Have no desire to slaughter humanity, and just want to live in peace with penguins. Even went so far as to ensure that people working at a research station in Antarctica were allowed to safely leave.
  • The Ghost: Have so far only existed in fanon speculation and Word of God posts, never appearing or being mentioned in canon material.

Spice's Fleet

A fleet of Abyssals who were once part of the Peace Faction of the Abyssal Fleet. Formerly on the run until they got the chance to form an alliance with humanity.
  • Benevolent Monsters: Spice's fleet has been doing disaster relief work in their travels, such as helping in Japan after the Great Kanto Earthquake.
  • Martial Pacifist: While Spice's fleet prefers to stay out of conflict, Spice and Tamama in particular have learned how to manipulate pyroclastic flows and lightning in battle.

    Tamama
Spice's lover, and a hybrid of Abyssal Princess and Abyssal Demon. Daughter of Northern Trader Princess.
  • Emergency Transformation: As noted above, Spice yanked out the soul of a Ta-Class that had mortally wounded Tamama before moving her lover's soul into the now-empty body.
  • Official Couple: With Tamama.

Challenger Deep Princess' Fleet

The Abyssals who have been claimed in their own ways by Challenger Deep Princess, the embodiment of the Unknown Secrets of the Oceans.
  • Benevolent Monsters: All of them have been seen as neutral toward humanity.
  • Beyond the Impossible: How CDP's gifts manifest in them with them apparently being an exception to the known rules of how Abyssals work.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: That said they are Abyssals and are working toward their own unknowable (literally) ends.

    Rapid Rabbit
The spirit of a crashed Cold War SR-71 that was buried at sea in the Marianas Trench.
  • Ace Pilot: Very much this, as one might expect. In her run over Kadena she was surfing the hypersonic shock waves of her flight to generate enough lift to stay aloft.
  • Always Someone Better: As fast as Rabbit may be, her attempt to race Santa Claus saw her eat the jolly fat elf's contrail.
  • Badass Pacifist: She's unarmed and only carries a bunch of cameras and surveillance gear. She also regularly flies into hostile air defenses and dares them to take their best shot at shooting her down.
  • Beyond the Impossible: To avoid a shoot-down, she dove from 83,000 feet to 5,000 feet in a full afterburner dive, breaking the world's airspeed record in the process when she flew faster than five times the speed of sound. Thanks to an Elder Princess's magic infusing her, she didn't crash, melt, or disintegrate from the stresses to the airframe.
  • Cool Plane: She's the spirit of a rebuilt and improved SR-71, the fastest non-experimental plane ever designed and built.
  • High-Speed Missile Dodge: Over Okinawa. Partially justified by the closing speeds being far too great for the AMRAAM missiles to detonate properly in proximity to her. Rabbit was literally moving faster than the detonation speed of the high explosive in the warheads during her skydive.
  • Improbable Piloting Skills: Buzzed Kadena Air Force Base at five times the speed of sound with the locals doing their darndest to shoot her down.
  • Speed Demon: As one might expect from a Blackbird, Rabbit is extremely proud of her speed and likes to find an excuse to show it off. When buzzing Okinawa Air Force Base, she outright called them and asked for a speed check.
  • Super-Speed: A 'stock' SR-71 can travel at over three times the speed of sound easily. Rabbit has done five times, admittedly in a high speed evasive dive from high altitude. Her stated motivation even before her awakening has been 'to run fast'.
  • The Tease: Wears a Playboy Bunny outfit (made from Abyssal metal) thanks to her history as a SR-71, and delights in tantalizing and frustrating people trying to shoot her down. She views her runs into air defenses as a fun flirtatious game.

    Atlantic Mystery Demon
The first created of Challenger Deep Princess' 'children'. Apparently the somehow Abyssalized spirit of the Mary Celeste.
  • Beyond the Impossible: She normally appears as the ghost of a sailing ship... who can move at speeds faster than World War II destroyers designed for speed. She also successfully transited the extremely heavily guarded Panama Canal while freaking out everyone on duty that night.
  • Ghost Ship: Oh my heavens yes. She's seen to be the spectral ghost of the infamous sailing ship Mary Celeste with the only person visibly 'alive' on her hull being her Abyssal spirit.
