Protagonists

    Lunlun

Lunlun (center), with Cabo (left) and Nubo (right)
Voiced by: Mari Okamoto (original), Marú Guzmán (Latin-American Spanish dub, TV series), Marcela Bordes (Latin-American Spanish dub, OAV)

An orphaned teenage girl who lives with her grandparents at a flower shop. On her fifteenth birthday, she meets Nubo and Cabo and joins them on a long journey across all of Europe in search of the legendary Flower of Seven Colors, helping people along the way.

  • Action Survivor: She lives through lots of cruel or dangerous situations that would kill almost anyone else.
  • Badass Adorable: Lunlun eventually evolves into this as she grows braver and more daring outside of using her flower magic while never losing her bubbly and cheerful outlook. For example, she literally runs at a raging bull and jumps on top of it, gripping its horn to try to control it without even resorting to her transformation magic.
  • Cute Mute: She apparently spent a while like this as a little girl until her father's death.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: Played with since the Magic Pin lets her change her wardrobe... and gives her the skill that a person who wore that clothing would have. i.e., if Lunlun "puts on" a mountain climbing outfit, she becomes an amazing mountain climber herself for as long as she wears it.
  • Dub Name Change: Known as Ángel in the Latin-American Spanish dub. Similarly, the Brazilian Portuguese dub named her Angel (without the acute, pronounced in the English way).
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Sorta, she's a human but does have Flower Person heritage from her mother's side which is why she was chosen.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Lunlun's heart is as bright and pure as her lovely golden curls.
  • Innocent Flower Girl: She zigzags through the trope, since she's naive and love flowers but is also pluckier than the standard.
  • Official Couple: It takes them a long while before finally affirming their feelings for each other, but she and Serge do get their Happily Ever After by the series' end.
  • Plucky Girl: Nothing lets her down for too long.
  • Raised by Grandparents: She lives in her grandparents' flower shop, located in the French countryside.
  • Stylish Sunhats: One of Lunlun's many outfits includes a purple Pimped-Out Dress accompanied by a large white sunhat and a blue ribbon.
  • Walking the Earth: Not exactly, just all of Europe (plus Morocco, Egypt, and Japan if the OAV counts as canon). She sort of got roped into it due to her inherent powers and her heritage.

    Cabo and Nubo

Voiced by: Yuu Mizushima (Nubo) and Fuyumi Shiraishi (Cabo) (original), Jesús Barrero (Nubo) and Marú Guzmán (Cabo) (Latin-American Spanish dub)

Two messengers from the Flower Star who came to Earth in search of a descendant of the fabled plant spirits. They find one in Lunlun and ask for her company, which she accepts.

    Serge Flora
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/serge_flora.jpg

Voiced by: Takuzou Kamiyama (original), Jesús Barrero (Latin-American Spanish dub, TV series), Edgar Wald (Latin-American Spanish dub, OAV)

A mysterious young man who follows Lunlun in her travels, giving the people she helps packets of flower seeds which symbolize the lessons they've learned.

  • Big Good: He always helps Lunlun out and turns out to be the Crown Prince of the Flower Star.
  • Dub Name Change: He's called Celli in the Latin-American Spanish dub.
  • Intrepid Reporter: He's a skilled photographer and info gatherer, and travels through Europe taking photos of beautiful locations.
  • Official Couple: After a long period of hurdles, he and Lunlun finally get together at the end of the series.
  • Pretty Boy: He's simply gorgeous, and his good looks are often commented on.
  • Signature Headgear: Always seen with his signature feather hat.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Lunlun adores him and not just for his beauty, but because he's a very sweet man who always helps her out when they find each other.
  • Understanding Boyfriend: He unconditionally supports Lunlun and her goals, and chooses a simple life on Earth in order to stay with her.
  • Walking the Earth: Like Lunlun, he's traveling around the European continent for his own reasons.

Antagonists

    Togenishia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/togenishia.png
Voiced by: Michie Kita (original)

An overly ambitious, self-centered young sorceress who wants to steal the Flower of Seven Colors for herself and become queen of the Flower Stars.

  • Blow You Away: She can use very, VERY strong winds to blow people away via magic spell.
  • Butt-Monkey: Not to the same excess as her manservant Yabooki, but karma does rear its ugly head every now and then on this treacherous lady.
  • Manipulative Bitch: She's very good at manipulating people to do her bidding, specially by hitting their insecurities.
  • Smug Snake: While smart, levelheaded and very manipulative, Togenishia is also horribly selfish and vain.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: Lunlun always seems to turn the other cheek whenever Togenishia needs someone to bail her out of trouble (usually of her own doing) or simply not care, but the proud sorceress never utters a single "thank you," let alone stop harassing Lunlun and her friends.
  • Vain Sorceress: The main reason why she doesn't rely on her powers often, as using them drains her Life Energy at an alarmingly fast rate, leaving her all wrinkled if she's not careful. Togenishia is extremely sensitive when it comes to preserving her youth and beauty.

    Yabooki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yabooki_9.jpg
Voiced by: Tōru Furuya (original), Gabriel Cobayassi (Latin-American Spanish dub)

Togenishia's loyal stooge. He obeys her every whim in hopes of being made a noble once she fulfills her own ambition, as she promised him.

  • Animal Motifs: The raccoon. He is an anthropomorphic one after all.
  • Butt-Monkey: He's Togenishia's lackey and the target of almost all her tantrums.
  • Dub Name Change: His name is changed to Boris in the Latin-American Spanish dub.
  • Fat Bastard: A sneaky, chubby little racoon man who's always up to no good with his mistress.
  • Master of Disguise: Quite good at using disguises... unless his raccoon tail shows.
  • White Gloves: Wears them as part of his cartoonish design. No matter what kind of disguise he cooks up, the gloves always stay.

Other Supporting Characters

Lunlun's Family (Mother, Father, and Grandparents)

Lunlun's loved ones. They mean the world to her.

  • Death by Childbirth: Lunlun's mother died like this. In her last words, she entrusts the newborn Lunlun to her father and begs him not to blame her; he doesn't.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Lunlun's mother was the one carrying the genes/blood of the Flower Star people.
  • Good Parents: Lunlun's dad is a French boat captain and a very loving father. Or better said, was - he died of illness when Lunlun was five.
  • Parental Substitute: The main child-rearing "job" here was done by Lunlun's grandparents, who did it very well. Lunlun loves them with all of her heart and holds a huge Undying Loyalty to them, to the point of rejecting Serge's marriage proposal to become his queen, despite loving him just as much, because she wants to take care of them in their last years and repay the favor. Fortunately, he decides to abdicate his throne in order to stay and live by her side in the end.
