Characters / Halkegenia Online Leprechauns

Go To

They tend to be more mechanically minded. Generally good strength for their size and dexterity is excellent, but reflexes tend to be average. They aren't fast runners or fliers again, being pretty average in these areas. Builds range from tall to short, though generally a little broader across the shoulders than the Cait Sith.

  • The Blacksmith: Leprechauns specialize in crafting and metal works.
  • The Engineer: As part of the above, they are also prominent in TRIST, helping rediscover technology to speed up Tristain's industrial revolution.
  • Super-Senses: While all fae have these, when it comes to metals, Leprechauns have extremely sensitive senses of touch and hearing. Able to hear impurities or stress and, with training, able to figure where they came from;

Rute

Lord of the Leprechauns, Count of Goibniu

The pompous but organizationally brilliant leader of the Leprechauns. A small man with a big ego, Rute is an administrator who prefers to delegate his responsibility to his subordinates while taking credit for himself (He is very good at both). A coward by nature, Rute's fighting style is that of a support type mage, using earth magic and Leprechaun elemental support buffs to enhance his party.
  • Hidden Depths: Is noted to volunteer at Arrun Home at least once per week. He also has provided funding to hire two Tristanians as teachers for Arrun Home.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: It is noted by several that his ego, combined with his love of profit and renown, make him similar to many of the nobles who are now his peers.
  • A Day in the Limelight : The ROI parallel story is basically about everything he and his staff tries to do to give the Fae a future.

Kofu

An egotistical Leprechaun sword smith, Kofu dedicates herself to finding buyers who are worthy of her wares. In an inversion of the usual trend of clients referring others to Kofu's shop, instead they are referring buyers to Kofu, at least, this is the way she sees it. Her abrasive attitude earned her a broken nose following the Transition and she was only saved from serious injury by the arrival of Lizbeth who she hired on out of gratitude and admiration for her "people skills". Obnoxious and arrogant, the only person who Kofu willingly listens to is Liz who has earned her respect and the "right" to be her apprentice.
  • Hikikomori: Implied by the fact that she laments that ALFheim was made into "meatspace".
  • Insufferable Genius: She is a magnificent smith and will make sure everyone around her knows it.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Is actually quite attractive when she wears clothes that show her body.
  • Ultimate Blacksmith: Is the one who made Sakuya's katana, as well as the Dual Deciders.

Lizbeth (Shinozaki Rika)

A former blacksmith in SAO and now a Faerie of the Leprechaun Race. Having created a new account in ALfheim to participate in the <<Asuna Rescue Mission>>, Liz sadly does not greatly benefit from the knowledge transfer of the Transition. However, she dedicates herself to relearning the art of the blacksmith beside the sword smith Kofu. Liz also takes the opportunity to pick up a new combat specialty, choosing to emphasize her magic ability and become a Leprechaun support mage.

Hyuuga

Chief Researcher Hyuuga

A former nuclear engineer. She spent her days after the Transition drinking heavily in an inn and generally being depressed. When Sakuya sent out for people with real-life skills, she submitted a full resume as a joke. This actually proved to be the right thing to do and lent Hyuuga the position of Chief Researcher in the newly-formed Tristain Royal Institute of Science and Technology. She is endlessly fascinated by all things mechanical, being easily distracted by the presence of machinery. Her pet project is taking apart the Dragonfly's Raiment.
  • Daddy's Girl: She fondly remembers spending long nights with her dad in his workshop.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: She spent the month after the Transition drinking herself stupid from homesickness and despair.
  • Mad Scientist: She can often be seen scurrying around TRIST, and cackling with excitement over her latest project.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: As expected of the current situation, most of the rediscovered technology she has been introducing has been for military use primarily. She is both proud and horrified of introducing the forefather of the modern bullet, the Minié Ball.
  • Jumped at the Call: Lady Sakuya asks her to take charge of TRIST and warns her that she if she accepts she'll have to start immediately. Her response? "I started yesterday!"
  • She's Back: When she's offered a job at TRIST and realizes that she could be the vanguard of Halkegenia's Industrial Revolution, she jumps out of her depression and dives into the process of "build the tools to build the tools".
  • Wrench Wench: When she lays eyes on the Huey helicopter, she starts drooling and eagerly wants to take it apart. Then she becomes truly excited at the prospect of building lathes, engines, and turbines.

Torin

The official representative of the Leprechauns at the initial negotiations that led to the Treaty of Alfheim.

Fujiwara

A teacher at Arrun Home, covering "History of the Homeland" (a mixture of Earth History and Geography). He gives an impression of being Older Than He Looks, though whether he actually is has yet to be determined.
