    Darth Vader

Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/011_8.jpg
"I have a son?!"
Voiced by: Sam Johnson

The ruthless and fearsome Number Two of the Galactic Empire. Only this time around, he's overly happy that his family enlarges.

  • Adaptation Personality Change: This Darth Vader becomes a total goofball whenever he hears he, or anyone else, has descendants.
  • Affably Evil: Doting father or not, he still wants his son to join the Dark Side to overthrow the Emperor and rule the Galaxy because this is how it works.
  • Apologetic Attacker: At the end of Rogue One, he says "Excuse me" while slaughtering the Rebel soldiers.
  • Bumbling Dad: His basic persona is of an embarassing over-excited dad, who cheers up at any news of the existence of his children and grandchildren and annoyingly tells everyone about it.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Basically all the Death Star personnel, the Emperor and even his fellow Jedi ghosts give side glances at his antics.
  • Papa Wolf: This Vader loves his descendants very much.
  • Running Gag:
    Vader: I HAVE A... SON/DAUGHTER/GRANDSON!
  • Shout-Out: In How Rogue One Should Have Ended, a reference to The Dark Knight Rises is added to his meeting with Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn played both Krennic in Rogue One and John Daggett in TDKR). The scene that is parodied saw Daggett getting killed as he found out he has no power over Bane, a villain with Vader Breath who is of course emulated by Vader himself in Rogue One HISHE.
Krennic: So, I'm still in command?
Vader: Do you feel in charge? (imitates Bane's hand move)
Krennic: But I built you a Death Star!
Vader: And this gives you power over me? (Force-chokes him)
  • Story-Breaker Power:
    • He uses the Force to prevent Luke from falling into the shaft of Bespin in The Empire Strikes Back HISHE.
    • He uses the Force again to pull the Death Star's plans to himself in Rogue One HISHE.

    Anakin Skywalker

Anakin Skywalker

"I'M GONNA BE A FATHER?!"
Voiced by: Chris Oldenburg

A troubled young Jedi prodigy whose destiny may not be written.

  • Adaptational Alternate Ending: He makes several wise choices that prevent his fall to The Dark Side (or at least prevent the crippling that turns him into Darth Vader).
    • He turns Palpatine/Darth Sidious over to the Jedi Council.
    • He throws lava at Obi-Wan in their climatic duel instead of foolishly jumping at him.
  • Bad Liar: When Amidala is disturbed by Anakin's "I want you" eyes, she tells the Jedi Council about it, and he denies.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Instead of blindly leaping at Obi-Wan to get dismembered, he stays at a safe distance while using the Force to chuck lava at him.
  • Happily Ever After: The Revenge of the Sith episode ends the happiest way as possible for him (and the whole galaxy): Padmé Amidala doesn't die and he gets to see his children Luke and Leia grow up on Naboo while telling them stories of his past. Leia loves these stories but Luke somehow gets the feeling that they "ruin a better follow-up storyline".
  • Keet: Mentioning that he's gonna be a father is enough to make him turn hyperactive even when he's calm.
  • Running Gag: Carries over the "over-enthusiastic dad" antics of his Vader self from the original trilogy HISHE episodes.
  • Stalker with a Crush: How his Bodyguard Crush on Amidala is depicted in the Attack of the Clones HISHE.

    Palpatine

    Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/000000_0001_2.jpg
"I always sense when you guys are in danger, it's kind of my thing."
Voiced by: Daniel Baxter

The farm boy from Tatooine who became a legendary Jedi.

  • Big Damn Heroes: Shows up in The Force Awakens as Kylo Ren is about to kill Han Solo and impales him from behind with his lightsaber. Ren then falls down the Starkiller base shaft. This of course angers Solo.
    Han: Leia's gonna be pissed...
  • Big "NO!": In the iconic Luke, I Am Your Father scene in The Empire Strikes Back. He's obviously not happy about this family reunion, unlike Vader.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: Upon meeting Rey, he remarks how she's hot, which offends her and prompts her to say that they could be related (a popular fan theory has Rey related to the Skywalker family). Luke then says it never bothered him before (as he kissed Leia at the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back).
  • Combat Pragmatist: He impales Kylo Ren In the Back with his lightsaber in the Force Awakens HISHE.
  • Complexity Addiction: The rescue of Han Solo in the Return of the Jedi episode, after Leia blows up Jabba and his court with a simple thermal detonator.
    Leia: See? Not a problem!
Luke: Meeh... But I wanted us to sneak in one at a time and make the plan stupid elaborate...
  • Dirty Old Man: How the last scene of The Force Awakens turns out.
    Luke: Wow, you're hot!
Rey: What?! Gross! We could be related!
Luke: [Beat] Never bothered me before.
    Rey: Okay, byyye!
  • Literal-Minded: At the end of A New Hope Special Edition HISHE, Obi Wan's Force ghost tells him to "let go" as he is piloting his X-wing in the Death Star's trench. He then takes his hands out of the X-wing controls, and crashes.
  • Rule of Cool: In The Last Jedi, he does agree that facing down the First Order singlehandedly sounds awesome, and ends up defeating them alongside Rey and Yoda.
  • Victory Is Boring: The child version of Luke in the Revenge of the Sith video notes how the defeat of Palpatine and happy ending for Anakin and Padmé kind of ruins a "better follow-up storyline."

    Han Solo

Han Solo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hansolohishe.png
"Chewie, we're screwed..."
Voiced by: Daniel Baxter (Original Trilogy episodes), Brock Baker (The Force Awakens HISHE)

A galactic smuggler who became a valuable member of the Rebellion.

  • Adaptational Alternate Ending: Twice in The Force Awakens HISHE.
    • He dies crashing the Millenium Falcon at lightspeed on Starkiller Base.
    • Kylo Ren gets killed instead of him.
  • Double Entendre: At the end of his Return of the Jedi Rescue Arc, he regrets having been blind, missing some "pretty memorable sights", supposedly referring to the battle at the Sarlacc. Leia is standing by him in her sex slave outfit.
  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: He appeared in the "A New Hope" HISHE short in March 2007, in hand-drawn Limited Animation, which was dedicated to A New Hope. HISHE's animation style has considerably evolved since.
  • Oh, Crap!: When he finds out Captain Phasma has alerted all of Starkiller Base instead of disabling the planet's shield.
    Han: Chewie, we're screwed...
  • Plot Armor: During the meeting preceeding the battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi, a Rebel points out to Mon Mothma that Rebel soldiers always die while the heroes always survive.
Rebel soldier: No offense Lady, but all we Rebels ever do is die to accomplish things. Well except for the A-team over there... (points to Leia, Han, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian)
  • A Simple Plan: His plan to arrive at lightspeed on Starkiller Base to avoid detection... doesn't turn out to work well.
(Millenium Falcon crashes on the planet)
    C3PO: Oh my...
Leia: Well, so much for that idea...

    Leia Organa

Princess (later General) Leia Organa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leiahishe.png
"Well, so much for that idea..."
Voiced by: Tina Alexander, Lilly Coburn

The twin sister of Luke. She became a princess on Alderaan and one of the most prominent Rebel leaders in the Galactic Civil War, then leader of the Resistance during the rise of the First Order.

  • Brick Joke: Her "So much for that idea..." line in The Force Awakens HISHE was said 9 years earlier by Jan Dodonna (the Rebel commander on the moon Yavin IV) in A New Hope HISHE, when Tarkin had Yavin itself blown up by the Death Star to have the Rebel base in range of the Earth-Shattering Kaboom beam.
  • Combat Pragmatist: During the Han Solo Rescue Arc of Return of the Jedi, she simply blows up Jabba's court with her thermal detonator, because Luke's plan was stupidly elaborate.
    Leia: See? Not a problem!
Luke: Meeh... But I wanted us to sneak in one at a time and make the plan stupid elaborate...
  • Crazy-Prepared: In the alternate ending to The Force Awakens HISHE, she reveals that she has ordered the construction of a Death Star for the Resistance, and uses it against Starkiller Base.
  • Didn't Think This Through: She gets called out for coming back at the base on Yavin IV before the attack on the first Death Star, knowing well that the Empire tracked the Millenium Falcon up to there. The Special Edition HISHE for A New Hope adds this:
General Jan Dodonna However, rather than transmitting the technical readouts of the imperial battle station... And keeping our hidden rebel base SAFE! *glares at Leia* Princess Leia insisted on delivering the plans herself... knowing full well that her ship was being tracked. Thank you, Princess Leia.
Leia: I'm picking up on your sass.
General Dodonna That's good... because you deserve it! So, in short... We have one shot at making this right... and it's all Princess Leia's fault.
  • Dissonant Serenity: In The Force Awakens HISHE, she simply says "Well, so much for that idea..." when Han Solo, Chewbacca and Finn die crashing the Millenium Falcon on Starkiller Base. In the alternate ending to this short, she is just as emotionless even knowing that her son Kylo Ren and Rey died in the destruction of Starkiller Base by her own Death Star.
  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: She appeared in the "A New Hope" HISHE short in March 2007, and it was very much hand-drawn Limited Animation. Fast forward 9 years later in 2016, HISHE's animation style has considerably evolved.
  • The Needs of the Many: The reason she decides to blow up Starkiller Base using a Resistance Death Star, with Rey and her own son Kylo Ren still on the planet. The Trope Namer, Spock, even shows up to say it.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/obiwanhishe.jpg
"I'm really doing all the work, aren't I?"
Voiced by: Daniel Baxter, Brock Baker (prequels), Jamie Costa (Obi-Wan Kenobi)

The Jedi master who trained Anakin.

  • Butt-Monkey: Two of the most dangerous situations he went through in the prequel films (namely the duel with Darth Maul and his daring solo take on General Grievous and his battle droids on Utapau) end up going horribly wrong for him.
    • Also, Yoda and Mace Windu sit on cushions, do nothing and won't send him any help while he deals with Jango Fett on Kamino.
    • Even in his duel with Anakin on Mustafar, his "I have the high ground!" advantage is nullified when Anakin simply hurls nearby lava in his direction, causing him to flail around worriedly.
  • Character Catchphrase: "I immediately regret my decision!"
  • Combat Pragmatist: In A New Hope Special Edition, he prefers using the Force to mess with Darth Vader's Artificial Limbs and life support rather than fighting him with his lightsaber.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: In The Last Jedi, he reveals to Rey that he is her grandfather in the HISHE continuity.
  • The Reveal: He tells the truth about Vader and Leia to Luke from the get-go in A New Hope Special Edition HISHE, which is big enough a shock to make Luke faint.
  • Running Gag: Whenever he's screwed in the Prequels' HISHEs, he will "immediately regret his decision".

    Yoda

Yoda

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0yodahishe.png
"Awkward this is..."
Voiced by: Daniel Baxter

The legendary little green Jedi Master and Jedi Council member.

  • Brutal Honesty:
    Obi-Wan: I'm really doing all the work, aren't I?
    Yoda: Yes (laughs) .
  • Lazy Bum: In Attack of The Clones HISHE, he prefers sitting on cushions rather than helping Obi-Wan on Kamino. He even admits it.
  • Shock and Awe: At the end of The Last Jedi, he summons a lighting bolt to take out Ren and Hux.
  • Take a Third Option: Instead of choosing between stopping Dooku and saving Obi-Wan and Anakin from a collapsing column, he does both, using the Force to throw the falling column at Dooku's escape vessel, wrecking it and allowing the Jedi to capture him.

    Mace Windu

Mace Windu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/00000_00003_copie_copie_copie.jpg
"We are jedi MASTERS for crying out loud! Got it?"
Voiced by: Adrian Neely

A Jedi master and Jedi Council member.

  • Adaptation Personality Change: Just as with Nick Fury in the MCU movies, HISHE's Mace Windu appears to channel the hardcore Samuel L. Jackson persona from such movies like Pulp Fiction and Snakes on a Plane compared to the stoic and calm-minded version from the Star Wars prequels.
  • Just Shoot Him: He kills Palpatine by reminding the other masters their training and slice Jar Jar mid rant.
  • Lazy Bum: Just like Yoda, he prefers sitting on cushions rather than helping Obi-Wan on Kamino in Attack of The Clones HISHE.
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: Like every Jedi, he comes back as a Force spirit.
  • Shout-Out: To Snakes on a Plane
Mace Windu: Enough is enough! I've had it with these nerf herding Sith Lords in this nerf herding senate!
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: He and the Jedi masters accompanying him to arrest Palpatine make sure he won't even be able to attack them, by striking him first, then repeatedly with their lightsabers.

    Jar Jar Binks

Jar Jar Binks

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/011_2.jpg
"Okiday!"
Voiced by: Brock Baker

The most annoying Gungan in the galaxy.

    Rey

Rey

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0000_6.png
"... Aand you will escort me to a ship that I can escape in!"
Voiced by: Stephanie Fisher

A Force-sensitive scavenger who grew up on Jakku, a desert planet.

  • Adaptational Alternate Ending: She gets three different endings in The Force Awakens HISHE.
    • Kylo Ren uses his Force Fainting power on her during their climatic lightsaber duel.
    • Upon meeting Luke Skywalker, she finds out he's a Dirty Old Man and promptly leaves.
    • Leia has Starkiller Base blown up with a Resistance Death Star, while Rey is still on it, in the alternate ending video to The Force Awakens HISHE.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Upon finally meeting Luke, she realizes he's a Dirty Old Man, throws the lightsaber away and leaves.
  • Story-Breaker Power: As she Jedi Mind Tricks a Stormtrooper to free herself, she also asks him to escort her to a spaceship so she can escape Starkiller Base (instead of hiding herself in the base like she did in the actual film). Cue a TIE fighter escaping with Rey rejoicing inside.

    Kylo Ren

Ben Solo / Kylo Ren

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/000002_8.jpg
"I can show you the... FORCE FAINT! Ah ah! Oh, in your face, you fell for it again! I win!"
Voiced by: Daniel Baxter

The son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, who turned to The Dark Side.

    Snoke

Supreme Leader Snoke/Darth Plagueis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snokehishe.jpg
"I'm not liking the news I'm hearing!"
Voiced by:

The supreme leader of the First Order, and in the HISHE canon, the Sith Lord who trained Palpatine.

    Ackbar

Admiral Gial Akbar

A Mon Calamari admiral who is one of the most prominent members of the Rebel Alliance and later the Resistance. Known for his iconic meme, "It's a trap!"

  • Ascended Extra: He had a brief appearance in The Last Jedi before being unceremoniously killed off. In the HISHE short, however, he takes command of the Resistance after Leia is incapacitated, and basically takes over Holdo's role.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: As he takes over Holdo's role from the film, he sacrifices himself to take down the Supremacy and much of the First Order's fleet.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Upon taking over as leader, Ackbar clearly outlines their strategy to prevent mass panic and confusion. He's also willing to sacrifice his life for the good of the fleet.
  • Take That!: Having Ackbar taking Holdo's place is a blatant Take That! to the way The Last Jedi turned out.
  • You Are in Command Now: With Leia in recovery, he takes over as leader of the Resistance as opposed to Vice-Admiral Holdo. "Because, seniority."

    Chewbacca

Chewbacca

A Wookie who serves as Han's co-pilot aboard the Millennium Falcon.

  • Big "YES!": In the Comedy Recap Dubs, Chewbacca's only line of dialogue is "YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAH!!"
