     Stanley 'Stan' Pines

Stanley 'Stan' Pines

The proprietor of the Mystery Shack, and a known swindler and con-man. However, there is much more to him than meets the eye...
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Inverted. While life was still pretty hard on him, he at least managed to get by a tad better by becoming a Huntsman. However, he wasn't able to really gel into that kind of lifestyle, but hey, it's better than being almost totally alone like in canon. Sebben even cleared his criminal record! He also gets a major bone thrown in that Ford, while still quite angry about Stan activating the portal, legitimately thanks Stan for it, and while Ford is still planning to kick Stan out of the Mystery Shack, Stan has also obtained the position of Gravity Falls' mayor, meaning he won't be homeless or penniless.
  • Adaptational Badass: He was already a competent fighter in canon, but having a weapon and a Semblance have added to this. Using the Anti-Aging Cream likewise elevates his fighting capability by putting his body back into shape.
  • Badass Normal: Averted: While he may look like a normal swindler, but is a badass former Huntsman with a cane for a weapon and a Semblance to manipulate his opponents.
  • Cool Old Guy: big surprise when he finds out he's not just a dad, but a grandpa of two girls!
  • Everyone Has Standards: He is in full agreement with Phil Ken Sebben and Scrooge McDuck that the politicians trying to militarize the Hunters are total sleazebags and scum.
  • Gag Nose: Yep, like his canon version, still has the signature muppet-like nose.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Averted, as in this continuity he's warned about Bill much sooner. He's accused of doing this as mayor concerning Sammael's attack on Van Kleiss by some of the populace, who want him to fortify the town in case of a major Grimm attack, which he has not done yet, though in his defense, he is correct that the attack in Nowhere is far away from Gravity Falls.
  • Mysterious Past: Besides the one concerning his twin brother, Stanford, Stanley has had being a Huntsman added to his resume, even having knowledge of Phil Ken Sebben, the resident Big Good, along with incidents concerning Lydia Gilligan and Grandpa O'Reily. He also may or may not have fathered a few illegitimate children while out on the run...
  • Noodle Incident: ...A lot. He nearly destroyed DexLabs on one occasion for example and Scrooge McDuck wants money that Stan bailed on some time ago.

     Stanford Pines

Stanford Pines

The author of the three journals chronicling the town of Gravity Falls and Stan's twin brother.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Inverted, like with his brother. The various oddities in the story of Grimmfall, in their own way, contributed to his trip throughout the multiverse being a bit less unpleasant and gave him the opportunity to do some soul-searching, making him a bit more cordial to Stan when he returns to his home dimension. It likewise presents him to be in a better position to help the heroes.
  • Foil: To Dexter. Both of them were isolated from their peers and have difficulties with their families, both sharing the Fatal Flaw of Pride and being an Ineffectual Loner...but how they respond and prove themselves is as different as night and day. Dexter is rude to everyone he meets who does not share his intelligence, and willingly uses his intellect to strike back at his tormenters. He is also far more naturally prideful and arrogant, largely lacking the experiences that caused Ford to develop into such a person to begin with. Dexter has always put science first, before his family, and indeed, before innocent people, and is completely unaware of his faults. Ford, by contrast, is a natural Nice Guy who legitimately wants friends, with his pride coming out mainly due to his experiences in life beating him down to the point where it left him with severe insecurity. Ford was accused of being science-obsessed by Stanley, but that mainly came from stress from enduring Bill, otherwise, he's shown a willingness to bond with others, and he legitimately believes in the moral standards of being a hero. It's also worth noting that Ford, when given outside impetus to help with his familial troubles, actually responded positively to it, even if it did come from Rick of all people. Dexter, despite being surrounded by people far saner and kinder than Rick, continuously rejects their input and firmly believes that he is in the right.
  • For Want Of A Nail: Ford experiences this in two ways, through a brief meeting with Rick. First, he sees a universe where he managed to repair his perpetual motion machine in time and thus became a successful scientist...which also reveals that in this universe, Stan worked himself to the bone to give Ford the financial support needed for those endeavors. The resulting Jerkass Realization contributes to Ford being more willing to talk things out with his brother when he returns to his home dimension, something which the characters desperately need at this point as the plans of the villainous factions begin to hit their endgames.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Zigzagged. Ford's efforts to recruit Dipper as his apprentice nearly cause Weirdmaggeddon like in canon, but thankfully Bill has no intention to cause it just yet while Sammael and GOLB are after him. Instead, Mabel is merely driven to despair and boards the train, but with the rift still in tow. As such, while the ultimate consequences of his familial neglect have so far been avoided, there is still a good chance that the apocalypse he's been trying to avoid will still happen.
  • I Work Alone: Probably his most significant Fatal Flaw from canon. Scrooge calls out the Pines as a whole for having this though, not just Ford. Regardless, he's still kept the Rift secret, enforced this behavior in Dipper, and the only reason Weirdmaggedon hasn't happened yet is because Bill doesn't want to take the risk in attracting Sammael and GOLB's attention.
  • Walking Spoiler: At this point in time, Ford's identity is known by many, but his return does still mark a major shift in Grimmfall's status quo.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Rick once suggested that Ford simply kill the version of him that managed to notice the damage to his science project and repair in time, resulting in him going to his dream school and gaining the recognition he craved. This is something that Rick has done plenty of times in the past, and thus would be the only one to know...but Ford ultimately rejects this.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Rick freely admits this to Ford, since unlike Rick, Ford refuses to replace a version of himself in an objectively better reality, despite having every reason to.

     Mabel Pines

Mabel Pines

  • Too Spicy for Yog-Sothoth: She's too energetic for even Saint Olga's School for Wayward Princesses to break. It probably didn't help that the idea of being considered a princess (thanks to Bill trying to get her out of the way), put her on Cloud Nine.

     Wendy Corduroy

Wendy Corduroy

  • Action Girl: Having being trained by a lumberjack she showed how to defend herself really well.
  • Ambiguously Absent Parent: Just like in the canon her mom isn't even mentioned.
  • Apathetic Clerk: Spends more time slacking off with her friends and lazing about than working the register.
  • Badass Normal: Wendy may be laid-back, but she's "a flippin' CORDUROY!" She has hand-to-hand combat skills and is an expert with an axe and would make a great Huntress through the training she’s taken.
  • Lazy Bum: Yep, like her original version. Wendy has no work ethic, and spends most of her time lazing out around the Mystery Shack. But that’s when she isn’t training to be a Huntress.
