    The Risen

Kate Willis (Emma Booth)

Charlie Thompson (Sean Keenan)

  • Survivor's Guilt: Charlie was the only soldier from Yoorana to come home from World War I.

Kirstie Darrow (Hannah Monson)

William Blackburn (Rodger Corser)

Patrick Fitzgerald (Ned Dennehy)

  • Noble Bigot: His casual racism is not surprising seeing as how he died in the 1860s.

Maria Massola (Daniela Farinacci)

Carlo (James Monarski)

  • Redshirt: Storywise, Carlo serves little more purpose than to establish that the Risen will disintegrate if they try to leave Yoorana.

Tam Chi Wei (Harry Tseng)

Belle Donohue (Jessica Faulkner)

  • Ambiguously Gay: Belle used her Kylie Minogue-themed scrapbook as inspiration for masturbation. Later, she displays clumsy adolescent flirting toward Kirstie.
  • Belief Makes You Stupid: Somewhat literally. Her upbringing in an ultra-religious cult (and the questionable education received therein) has left Belle at the mental and social level of a nine or ten-year-old, despite being fifteen.
  • Felony Misdemeanor: Belle's mother subjected her to an exorcism (that led to her death) as punishment for masturbation.
    • When Belle sees the police report on her death, she's angrier that her mother lied to the police than the role she played in her death.

    Victoria State Police

James Hayes (Patrick Brammall)

Chris Rennox (John Leary)

  • My Greatest Failure: As a child, his brother Pete forced him to plant evidence on an innocent man that would have implicated Pete in Kirstie's murder. Chris became a cop to atone for what he had done.
  • Only Sane Man / Reasonable Authority Figure: Given the insanity happening in Yoorana, Chris handles things surprisingly well.

Sarah Hayes (Emily Barclay)

  • Pregnant Badass: Though on maternity leave from the force, Sarah is ready to investigate a possible home invasion.

Vic Eastley (Andrew McFarlane)

    People of Yoorana

Dr. Elishia McKellar (Genevieve O’Reilly)

Beau McRea (Aaron L. McGrath)

Phil (Rob Collins)

Owen Nilsson (Luke Arnold)

Pete Rennox (Robert Menzies)

  • Hate Sink: He is cruel, selfish, racist and verbally abuses his brother who is a dedicated caregiver to him. On top of that, he was an unrepentant rapist who murdered Kirstie and orchestrated a frame job on an innocent man.

    Noregard Pharmaceuticals

Prof. Nicola Heysen (Pernilla August)

  • Mad Scientist: Downplayed, she's not a cackling, screaming psycho; she's actually quite calm. But she conducts tests on the Risen like amputating William's fingers and performing brain surgery on Phil without anesthesia and she plans to do much worse to the others.

Samarvart Chadra Gard (Dalip Sondhi)

  • Smug Snake: Every word out of his mouth is dripping in arrogance and condescension. It's no wonder the Risen are suspicious of him.
