Mobile Command Vehicle "Elmo"

    The Commander
The Player Character. A former Tactical Commander of the Griffin & Kryuger Security Firm, now working as an independent bounty hunter.

For tropes regarding their appearance in "Girls' Frontline'', see here.

  • Casual Danger Dialogue: The Commander is noticeably calm even when tortured by Varjagers, making little jokes and even bidding them "ciao"/"adieu" as they tumble out of the gang's (still moving!) vehicle.
  • Canon Immigrant: The female Commander's appearance is identical to Gentiane, who represents the player Commander in the manga Girls' Frontline: Doll's Song.
  • Scrap Heap Hero: Ten years of self-exile hasn't done wonders to the Commander's status. All they have is a barely-functioning mobile base, a single alcoholic mechanic to maintain it, and a gaggle of Tactical Dolls picked up during their travels, doing small-time contracts for meager pay.
  • Still Wearing the Old Colors: Both the male and female Commander's outfits have the exact same color scheme as the standard Griffin & Kryuger uniform.

    Shen Mayling
A young mechanic who was picked up by the Commander. She's the chief (and only) engineer responsible for the Elmo's maintenance.
  • The Alcoholic: Despite her age, Mayling has already developed some serious drinking problems.

    Helena
The girl in the box. While she has little knowledge of her own origins and powers, it's clear that many are after her for unknown reasons.
  • The Immune: Several trailers show Helena walking alone in a black zone. Normal humans would have been instantly turned into ELID, suggesting her status as a Pan-Immunosome.
  • Living MacGuffin: She is the driving force Girls' Frontline 2's story; the Commander wants to prevent Helena from falling into the wrong hands, and at the same time uncover the mysteries around her.

Enemy Factions

    Varjagers

    ELID

  • Raising the Steaks: While other Girls' Frontline games show human victims of ELID, Exilium's ELID roster primarily consists of mutated animals.

    Girard Group
A manufacturing company contracted to develop the Purification Zone around Odessa. Their size and influence has since grown tremendously, operating their own armed forces and developing cutting-edge Tactical Dolls. They seem to have an interest in Helena.

Sextans

A third-generation Tactical Doll dispatched by Girard Group to assist the Client.
  • Gradual Grinder: One of her skills applies Deterioration Mark on a random target. The mark deals a portion of her attack power per round, stacks up to five times, and can only be dispelled by destroying the Pointed Stars she summons.
  • Revolvers Are Just Better: Sextans uses her paired revolvers for basic attacks.
  • Servile Snarker: Despite being employed to the Client, Sextans frequently takes jabs at his incompetence.

Darture

Another third-generation Tactical Doll. She pursues Groza's Squad throughout Odessa.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: Her manner of clothing and ladylike demeanor calls to mind this aesthetic.
  • Parasol of Pain: Darture's parasol serves as both an energy gun and a thrusting weapon.
  • Smug Super: She's a cutting-edge model with far greater control over the Remolding Pattern than Groza, a fact that she likes to rub on her face during their fight.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: Played straight and inverted. Darture's ranged attacks will apply a status that forces the affected enemy to approach from her, while her melee gives a status which forces the target to flee. The key to fighting her is to manage both status effects so your T-Dolls aren't locked out of your control.

Others

    Poludnitsa
One of the "Underground Brokers", black marketeers who do their business between purified and contaminated areas to avoid attracting attention from the authorities. She is the Commander's preferred contact when it comes to supplies.

    "The Client"
The person who hired the Commander and their group to retrieve the Box. His real name is Darrel Claude.
  • Smug Snake: He holds an overblown sense of importance despite only being able to flaunt his connections and send goons after the Commander. Even Sextans (who technically works for him) doesn't take him seriously.

    Task Force 404

     Kalina
Formerly a logistics officer in Griffin & Kryuger, Kalina left the organization some time after the Commander. She now works as a bureaucrat for the Directorate of Non-Military Forces.

For tropes regarding her appearance in "Girls' Frontline'', see here.

    Springfield
The proprietor and manager of Zucchero Cafe.

  • Benevolent Boss: Springfield puts the well-being of her employees first even when the cafe isn't doing well, and she always steps up to mediate whenever a conflict between them occurs.
