The Players

    Apex

Apex/Bastian

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/apex.png
Played by Lanipator
Apex is a..."man" who appears to be a Tribal. He wanders the wastes in search of a man who came to this place before he did.
  • Brutish Bulls: His general theme is bulls, given his headstrong but simple nature, and his predilection for charging directly into foes.
  • Closet Geek: Turns out he's a fan of comic books to the point of making some based off his own adventures
  • Crazy-Prepared: Apex is a master tracker and is well-versed on the dangers of the wastelands, able to rattle off facts about Deathclaws at whim.
  • The Faceless: Apex is only ever seen wearing a well-decorated Brahmin skull, which he never takes off.
  • Glory Seeker: He makes it a point to tell those that witness his prowess to spread the name of "The Apex" and tales of his might.
  • Her Code Name Was "Mary Sue": He draws his own comic book that depicts the adventures of "The Apex", based on his actual adventures, and has added in additional characters based on his current friends.
  • Made of Iron: Apex isn't just strong, he's tough. He gets shot at least a couple of times and he only ever reacts to it with more curiosity than anything else.
  • No Social Skills: He typically can't talk to people in a normal conversation if his life depended on it
  • Smarter Than You Look: Based off his looks it's easy to assume that Apex is basically a feral scavenger but he's actually a relatively smart explorer whose family was a part of the Brotherhood of Steel.
  • Spell My Name with a "The": Refers to himself as The Apex, not Apex.
  • Stout Strength: Apex is the shortest party member by a bit, but makes up for it by being stronger than any other party member by quite a bit.
  • Wild Man: Apex is as close to a wild human as you could possibly get, having only vague ideas of civilization, eating like an animal, and speaking in terse sentences.
  • Wolverine Claws: His actual weapon of choice is a Deathclaw Gauntlet that he can put to devastating use.
  • You No Take Candle: Apex sometimes slips into this.

    Alvin

Alvin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alvin_4.png
Played by HeyMrRabbit
Alvin is a mechanic and salvager from the town of Riverside, who only wants to do good in a world where good is hard to come by.
  • Ambiguously Brown: Alvin's skin is permanently tanned from years of working out in the hot sun.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Even when he got caught by slavers, he only ever wanted to escape, and as a rule prefers to use violence as a last resort.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: His fighting style, aided by the use of two Power Fists.
  • Heroic Build: Alvin's a pretty jacked young man.
  • Mr. Fixit: His old job in Riverside, and he puts it to good use to get everyone a free night out of the elements by fixing a Nuka Cola fridge, something that'd been dead for likely years at that point.
  • Mundane Utility: In a twist, Alvin would actually prefer to use his Power Fists for what they were made to do: construction and industry.
  • Nice Guy: Alvin's a beam of sunshine in the Missouri Wasteland, making him stand out just by being so openly friendly where everyone else is at best a bit (understandably) cautious of strangers.
  • Real Men Eat Meat: His favorite food is Brahmin steak, served rare.
  • Reformed Criminal: He used to be a member of the White Razors until an incident where he almost died near Riverside led to the natives saving his life and he's been on the straight and narrow since.

    Cynthia

S7-82, AKA Cynthia

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cynthia_7.png
Played by Caitlin Elizabeth
Even for the bizarre world of the wastes, Cynthia seems to stick out like a sore thumb; she is an unusually prim and proper woman who wears a Nurse's uniform that wouldn't look out of place in a WW2 movie, and has almost robotically precise medical skills.
  • Artificial Human: She's pretty obviously a Gen-2 synth, only aided in her deception by the fact that they would only be known to people in the Commonwealth Wasteland, which she is now hundreds of miles away from.
  • Barbie Doll Anatomy: She is an older variant of Synth, and as such when she disrobes, she has no defining features.
  • Brain Uploading: Her personality is the result of the military making a copy of her human self's brainwaves during the great war and the Institute putting it into a synth body.
  • Combat Medic: She might be a nurse by trade, but she is very handy with an assault rifle.
  • Dissonant Serenity: Most of the time she effects a calm, matronly tone that only ever gets raised in extreme duress.
  • The Gadfly: Her hobby since meeting the party is flustering Alvin, taking advantage of his extreme bashfulness whenever possible.
Cynthia: Please Alvin, describe in detail what I look when I am like out of my dress.
  • Guile Hero: Cynthia adapts quickly to the company she keeps while keeping her same motherly tone: she becomes assertive and decisive against the slavers, complimentary and a little flirty while being "treated" for her wounds by Alvin.
  • Hidden Weapons: She hides a plethora of throwing knives under her skirt.
  • Machine Monotone This is how she speaks when the AI takes over.
  • Punny Name: The "Cynth" in Cynthia is phonetically identical to Synth.
  • Ridiculously Human Robot: Cynthia's synthetic nature means she can't eat or drink anything to maintain the illusion, and any damage she suffers will need repairs by someone better suited to technology than she is.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: While she may only look like a prim and proper nurse and acts like it, she can kick ass harder than nearly anybody else.
  • Steven Ulysses Perhero: Only the spelling of her name and distance from the Commonwealth hides her identity.
  • Time Abyss: She's technically one of the oldest people around thanks to her memories coming before the great war.
  • Two Beings, One Body: She shares her body with the original AI uploaded into her body due to the latter not being automatically deleted as expected. While she's mostly in control strong emotions (particularly in response to her creator, Dave) can cause the AI to retake control.
  • Was Once a Man: She used to be a human before the bombs dropped.

    Louise

Louise

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/louise_2.png
Louise, by all accounts, seems like a perfectly normal waster from the nearby Vaults when the group first finds her, but then it's revealed that she talks to a skull in her backpack named Phil and that goes out the window.
  • Archenemy: Barry is this for her. After he killed Phil and left her for dead in a vault, she spends the entire campaign trying to look for him. When she learns that he's now a high-ranking member of "The Family" trying to control the Missouri Wastes, taking him down becomes her number one priority.
  • Celibate Hero: She notes in a conversation with Alvin that, while not opposed into getting into a relationship, she's fine without it and doesn't really have any sexual desire.
  • Mask of Sanity: She's quite mundane...and then you notice her smile is a little too big and she laughs a little too long. And that's not even getting into her relationship with Phil.
  • Left for Dead: She was left to die in a vault with Phil's corpse by Barry.
  • Mummies at the Dinner Table: While she knows that Phil is dead, she continues to have conversations with his skull and seems mystified when other members of the party question if she can talk to other dead people.
  • Must Have Caffeine: She really seems to like coffee, being effectively a zombie for most of the day.
  • Noodle Incident: Has apparently been to Vault 85, and did not care for the experience.
  • Pinball Projectile: She has incredible shooting skill, able to ricochet bullets off of surfaces.
  • Talking to Themself: This is how outsiders see her conversations with Phil.
  • The Pollyanna: She takes pretty much all bad news in stride, assuming that life will always try and throw bad things at you. Whether or not she's actually like this however...
  • The Un-Smile: Sarah constantly notes in descriptions that the majority of Louise's smiles look off-putting.

Important NPCs

    Mr. Dalliard
A Mr. Handy robot that the group becomes close friends with.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Much like most Pre-War things, Mr. Dalliard is unaware of just how much the world has changed. When Alvin is poisoned at one point, he attempts to help by calling the ambulance, despite every hospital in the world likely an abandoned ruin.
  • Robot Maid: His primary function is being a Robot Butler, just like all Mr. Handy robots were meant to be in Fallout.
  • Shout-Out: He's named after a character from A Bit of Fry and Laurie.
