Twilight Sparkle

Voiced by Kitaronicus

Princess Celestia's treacherous student and adopted older sister to Spike. She once tried to aid her teacher's Affably Evil sister Nightmare Moon alongside her "friends" to overthrow her, but blew it when they got too overconfident and tried to overthrow Nightmare as well, with weapons Nightmare created. Having been banished to Ponyville as punishment by Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle must deal with the remaining five members of the Mane Six, as well as Spike.

  • If It's You, It's Okay: In the audio-only Valentine's Day special, she states that she wants to be with Rainbow, despite insisting that she's straight.
  • It's All About Me: Her attitude most of the time.
  • Karma Houdini: Due to an apparent misunderstanding, she was let off with her attempt to overthrow her teacher and hailed as a hero for stopping Nightmare Moon. But subverted, as she is banished to a town full ponies she hates–and vice versa–for disobeying a direct order.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Apart from Spike, she's the only one not aware that Celestia arranged for the others to try to rehabilitate her on the down-low.
  • Never My Fault: Refuses to take responsibility on her crimes.
  • Pet the Dog: Trying to save Applejack and admitting she–at least in her own way–has grown attached to the other elements.
  • Straight Man: To an extent.
  • Sibling Rivalry: With Spike.
  • Silent Treatment: As part of her Sibling Rivalry with Spike, she pretends that he's speaking another language in order to piss him off, as she knows Spike doesn't want to be ignored.
  • Tell Me About My Father: This along with the combination of finding out she'd been lied to by her family and Celestia her whole life is what lead to her failed coup.

Rainbow Dash

Voiced by Eyes Of Estranged

A former member of the Wonderbolts. Rainbow Dash was kicked out due to her relationship with Spitfire (who may or may not be a closeted lesbian). Now, she just hangs around in Ponyville, hoping for the day she gets back into the Wonderbolts.

Applejack

Voiced by Eyes Of Estranged

The head of Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack sells apples as well as illegal Apple products, that is until Apple catches her and punishes her with a radio chip.

  • Con Man: Or "con mare" to be more specific.
  • Driven to Suicide: After the radio chip in her head forced her to listen to music.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Apple catches her fraud and makes her test out one of their inventions as punishment.
  • Offscreen Karma: We are not shown when and where Apple Inc discovered AJ's scam, just her punishment.
  • Sour Supporter: In the origin story, Applejack openly says she doesn't give a damn about Twilight and honestly thinks she's a blight on Equestria that should have been killed before she had a chance to reach adulthood. She's only going along with the plan out of duty and hopes the mission ends as soon as possible.

Rarity

Voiced by Kitaronicus

Pinkie Pie

Voiced by Beans and Jam

  • Informed Judaism: Casually mentions it in one of the specials. Clearly converted to Christianity at some point.
  • The Fundamentalist: Is a Christian fanatic who wants to overthrow Celestia for being a "false god". Though, she is excepting of most ponies none the less. This most likely was her cover.
  • Token Good Teammate: Zigzagged.

Fluttershy

Voiced by Beans and Jam

Spike

Twilight's adopted younger brother/assistant. Though it seems they love each other–to an extent–they have a very love-hate relationship: mostly hate.

  • Butt-Monkey: Downplayed compared to other series. His older sister Twilight constantly teases and ignores him.
  • Sibling Rivalry: This is apparently why Twilight treats him like a Butt-Monkey.

Celestia

The current ruler of Equestria, Luna's older sister, and Twilight's long time mentor. Although many of the ponies under her rule do question whether she should be the one in power, she has so far been shown to be a good, if imperfect leader.

  • Lipstick Lesbian: She is infatuated with Twilight.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Unlike other versions of her in the AbridgedSerieses, she seems to genuinely care about protecting her subjects and keeping order in Equestria, despite the annoyances that entails. Best shown in a Royal Correspondence episode, while dealing with a couple ponies in a completely absurd argument, she manages to keep her calm long enough to defuse the situations, despite not wanting any part of it.

Luna

Celestia's younger sister and former Galactic Conqueror, who once tried to conquer Equestria and betray her sister, but since has gotten over it and has returned peacefully to make amends with her former subjects, only for the Mane Six's failed scheme and a misunderstanding, to lead to her being blasted by Celestia, as she was about to kill The Mane Six for betraying her. This unfortunately, has reduced her into an confused and amnesia-tic filly, prompting her older sister to take her back in.

  • Dark Is Not Evil: Not only is she this, but even as Nightmare Moon she wasn't exactly a bad mare.
  • Easily Forgiven: After she regressed into a confused child, Celestia does not hesitate to take her back.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Apparently had one, after becoming a Galactic Conqueror.
  • Fountain of Youth: Is hit by this, before she could kill the Mane Six. Reducing her to an Amnesiac-Alicorn filly.
  • Galactic Conqueror: Apparently was this, until she gave that up, in favor of returning home to Equestria.
  • Nice Girl: She is revealed to have become this (much to Twilight's disappointment) after her Heel–Face Turn and later, after being de-aged, she is still one of the nicer characters.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: She was nothing but generous to the Mane Six, up until they tried to overthrow her.
