Emperor Metallix is by far the biggest complex in this series.
Tropes applied to him (TBA)
- Adaptational Heroism: Despite looking like and being as powerful as an alternate universe version of a total monster, similarities end there. Metallix is a hero, full stop, and his only crime is being a Well-Intentioned Extremist.
- A God Am I: Shows a god complex in the Mecha Sonic Saga. Averted since the only thing he wants to do with his god powers was to transform Mobius into the ultimate utopia. However, Knothole already was pretty much this, so Metallix was rather greedy.
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: A rare, heroic case. He revolts against Dr. Koopa when he betrays the Maverick Hunters.
- All Your Powers Combined: Metallix uses the powers of all technologies Dr. Koopa installed into him, with no drawbacks.
- Amplifier Artifact: There is a chamber in his chest where the Chaos Emeralds can be stored. Eventually, their place is taken by the Phantom Ruby/Reality Stone.
- Anti-Hero: He's more serious and merciless than most heroes. Can be considered to be the Token Evil Teammate because of this mercilessness.
- Arch-Enemy: To Mephiles the Dark, natch. Also to the Master of Masters, by proxy.
- Arm Cannon: His Spin Dasher, which is a Shout-Out to the Archie Comics.
- The Comically Serious: When he's not making memes.
- Cosmic Plaything: Inverted: due to his power to grow and adapt, Metallix, by trying to prevent his past self from suffering his fate and give his past self a Happily Ever After, eventually becomes a Reality Warper, to the point the cosmos became his plaything. Let's be grateful he's a good guy...
- Curb-Stomp Battle: He can easily beat the ever-loving tar out of any opponent(s) unfortunate enough to wrong him, by his lonesome.
- Dark Is Not Evil: As he says himself, darkness is the negativity accumulated in one's heart, coming from feelings like rage and hatred, and darkness is destroyed by darkness if it grows out of control. The only way to stop darkness from consuming your heart is to control it before it controls you.
- Deadpan Snarker: He demonstrates a penchant for snide remarks throughout the series.
- Death Glare: Metallix's default facial expression, inherited from Metal Sonic.
- Determinator: He will not stop at anything to achieve his goal, and may God help you if you wronged him in some way.
- The Emperor: Of the Brotherhood of Metallix.
- Fallen Hero: He's a Bad Future version of Sonic who was defeated and subjected to Unwilling Roboticization by his Robotnik, and he already suffered way over how much is acceptable. He doesn't want his past to repeat to his past self.
- Fatal Flaw: Dr. Koopa built Metallix to defy this. He failed, since Metallix does have one:Greed. See Seven Deadly Sins below.
- Fountain of Memes: Whatever comes from his mouth is pure gold.
- Invincible Hero: He's Nigh-Invulnerable, hands out curb-stomps like they're going out of style, and the villains have never come close to anything resembling beating him, even on their best days.
- Killer Robot: A rare heroic example. He kills villains on a regular basis since the Mecha Sally Saga.
- Master of All: Pick any of the heroes' specialties, and you can bet that Metallix can do all of them better at the same time, without having their weaknesses. According to Dr. Koopa, his HP, Attack and Defense are all over 9000.
- Nigh-Invulnerable
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: He's basically the king of this. Oh, sorry, I meant The Emperor of this.
- No-Nonsense Nemesis: Is quick to exploit any flaws in enemy plans.
- No-Sell: He doesn't sell many things.
- One-Man Army: He's basically all heroes and villains he encounters into one Reploid.
- One-Winged Angel: His Metallix Overlord form is his highest-level Super Mode. It's actually god-like.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: To whoever is on his bad side.
- Ridiculously Human Robots: Judging by his design, it's easy to believe he's a Reploid. Justified since he's a free-willed Robian.
- Power Copying: His signature move.
- Sadist: To his enemies.
- "Second Law" My Ass!: He refuses to help Dr. Koopa enact Repliforce's revenge on Zero.
- Seven Deadly Sins: Much of his behavior can be connected to either of them, except for Sloth:
- Envy He hates it when people envy a good person for whatever reason. Sometimes combines with Lust.
- Greed: His Fatal Flaw. He desired to transfer all of existence into a peaceful Utopia.
- Gluttony: Combines with Greed.
- Lust: Combines with Envy. That said, he had a lust for power in the Mecha Sonic Saga.
- Pride: He often takes pride into his actions.
- Wrath: He goes berserk whenever he's wronged in some way.
- Shoulder Cannon: Metallix has a pair of deployable missile launchers that mount over each shoulder.
- Shout-Out: Him referencing various memes aside, he looks like he has Bass body and legs with Neo Metal Sonic's head, arms and cloak.
- Super Mode: Has several of these.
- Super Metallix, his first level.
- Hyper Metallix, the second level.
- Omega Metallix, the third level. In it, he has two extra pairs of arms, and a pair of cannons and one of hammers growing from his back.
- Metallix Overlord, the forth and final level.
- Teleport Spam
- There's No Kill like Overkill: His preferred method of execution.
- Utopia Justifies the Means/Well-Intentioned Extremist: His plan is to achieve peace and prosperity on an omniversal scale.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Every tear jerker moment in the series is taking a toll on Metallix's already damaged sanity. This is because he's often applying Fridge thinking, and eventually ended up with the conclusion that the only way for anyone to be happy is for him to kill them all because one can't leave anyone behind. Even worse, he's Xehanort's successor, and Xehanort did tell Metallix that he truly intended to destroy the "fake light" that most people hide into and restore true light, and that Metallix is a failsafe in case Xehanort is drifted away from his goal. Via the Time Stones, Metallix figured out what Xehanort meant, seeing all tragedies that were to unfold (Emerl's death, Xion's death, the Mecha Sally Saga, Sora erasing himself from existence just to save Kairi). No wonder he's the way he is...
