Bái Yuèchū/ Haku Gesho (白 月初)
The male lead protagonist of the series. He is a young Taoist, who is stingy about money and food and hates it, when someone wastes some good food. He is a big sweet tooth.
- Sweet Tooth: Yuechu is obsessed with food in general, but he likes sweets in particular.
- Work Off the Debt: His previous lives have the bad habit of pushing their debts to Tushan to their next incarnation, and Susu intends to hold them to their word.
Túshān Sūsū/ Tosan Susu (涂山 苏苏)
The female lead protagonist of the series. She is an aspiring fox spirit matchmaker, who tries to live up to the reputation and responsibility of Tushan.
- Cute Clumsy Girl: Susu can be a real klutz, but that does not diminish her charm.
Túshān Yǎyǎ/ Tosan Yaya (涂山 雅雅)
Yaya is the oldest of the three fox sisters and the current leader of Tushan and the Spirit Union. She is infamously known as the second strongest individual in Tushan.
- An Ice Person: Yaya has the power to freeze her surroundings in an instant.
- Buxom Beauty Standard: Word of God states that her appearance is inspired by Boa Hancock. Her beauty is acknowledged In-Universe, with Wang Fugui's father attempting to flirt with her by claiming that the word "beauty" is invented solely to describe her.
- Ice Queen: She likes to give everyone literally the cold shoulder.
Túshān Róngróng/ Tosan Ronron (涂山 容容)
Rongrong is the right-hand and second-in-command of Tushan. She is also the one, who is in charge of the finances and business of Tushan.
- Eyes Always Shut: Rongrong always keeps her eyes closed, just like every secret she knows.
- Non-Action Guy: As *The Strategist*, she makes the plans and lets her older sister do the talking.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: She is noted to be particularly skilled and can easily see through other shapeshifters.
Wáng Fùguì/ Ou Fuuki (王 富贵)
Fugui is the heir to the illustrious Wang family, who helped form the Yi Qi Dao League five hundred years ago.
- Berserk Button: Calling him by his full name. Bai Yuechu exploits this.
- Rich Jerk: He is rich and likes to taunt people with it.
- Meaningful Name: His given name is the same as his previous reincarnation and means "wealthy." He resents it so much that it is his Berserk Button but cannot change it as he will lose his inheritance.
Fàn Yúnfēi/ Fu Unhi (梵 云飞)
The prince of the Desert Fox Spirits of the Western Region.
- Dishing out Dirt: Desert Fox Spirits can manipulate the sand around them and even turn their body into sand.
- Speech Impediment: Yunfei speaks with a nervous stutter.
Lì Xuěyáng/ Rei Setsuyou (厉 雪杨)
A kindergarten teacher.
- An Ice Person: She wields an ancient spear that can create ice and snow.
- Reincarnation: In her past life she was known as the Ice General, who married Fan Yunfei, the prince of the Desert Foxes.
Wángquán Fùguì/ Ouken Fuuki (王权 富贵)
Wangquan Fugui lived five hundred years ago and was known as the strongest Taoist swordsman, the living weapon of the Wangquan family.
- The Ace: By the time he is twelve, no one of the Wangquan sect except for his father poses a challenge to him.
- Human Weapon: Is born to be this, enduring 16 hours of training everyday. His mother belongs to the Dongfang clan and women of that clan can pass their abilities as well as their partners' abilities to their unborn children. Fugui is planned to be the union of two of the strongest clans.
- Master Swordsman: His swordsmanship was well known, even demons and spirits were cut down in a blink of an eye.
- Mayfly–December Romance: Falls in love with Qingtong and makes a pledge of love with her.
- Meaningful Name: His surname literally means "kingly authority" while his given name means "wealthy" and is chosen by his father Wangquan Baye for the then unborn Fugui. The tackiness is lampshaded by his mother Dongfang Huaizhu. She vehemently refuses to let a daughter carry such a name.
Qīng Tóng/ Seitou (清瞳)
A female spider spirit that appears to have connection to Wang Fugui.
- All Webbed Up: She can shoot spider webs.
- Buxom Beauty Standard: She dons a revealing robe that flaunts her ample assets.
- Crush Blush: Whenever she realises her prospective in-laws are discussing her. Thankfully, they are not Obnoxious In-Laws and have, with the ineffective exception of Wang Fugui, recognise and welcome her as part of the family.
- Mayfly–December Romance：With Wangquan Fugui. Has been patiently waiting for his reincarnation, who happen to be Wang Fugui.
- Cute Monster Girl: Qingtong is quite easy on the eyes for a spider.
- Poisonous Person: She can coat her webs with poison.
- Spider People: At first she appeared like a typical version, but gains a more human appearance later.
Dōngfāng Yuèchū/ Touhou Gesho (东方 月初)
Dongfang Yuechu was known as the legendary Demon Taoist, who lived five hundred years ago. At the end of his life he made a Pledge of Love with Tushan Honghong and used the Tear Void as the vessel.
- Ahoge: He has two absurdly long ones on his head. They resemble cockroach antennae, prompting Yaya to nickname him "cockroach."
- Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: One of the many, many examples in this series.
- The Determinator: For love.
- Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Dongfang Yuechu is a handsome individual.
- Mayfly–December Romance: Inevitable result of falling in love with a spirit even though he is implied to have a longer-than-average lifespan. He has been in love with her for a good fifty years before she reciprocates.
- Playing with Fire: Can produce the signature spirit-destroying flames of his family. Non-Dongfang users can only summon previously-created flames. Before leaving Tushan he sets the warehouse on fire so that the fox spirits can always summon the flame to defend against other spirits.
- Single-Target Sexuality: Only loves Tushan Honghong.
- Trademark Favourite Food: He is is never seen without a stick of Tanghulu
, a traditional Chinese snack made out of candied hawthorn berries. His mother Dongfang Qinlan is always seen with the same candies as well. His reincarnations are also have a massive Sweet Tooth. - Wife Husbandry: Or rather, husband husbandry. Tries to invoke this repeatedly with Honghong from childhood to adulthood, telling those who will believe him that Honghong raises him with the intention of marrying him.
Túshān Hónghóng/ Tosan Koukou (涂山 红红)
Honghong was the older sister of Yaya and Rongrong and the previous leader of Tushan and the Spirit Union. She was renowned as the most powerful fox spirit during her lifetime, although it is possible that Yaya has already surpassed her by now.
- The Ace: Has disappeared for five centuries but her name is still enough to strike fear. Explicitly stated to be the strongest spirit during her reign, although Yaya may have, according to Yuechu, overtaken her in the present day.
- The Atoner: In her childhood she mistakenly kills a young Taoist trainee trying to free her and Rongrong due to mistrust of humans. The trainee forgives her, noting that trusting the wrong humans can cost spirits their lives. Honghong preserves her body and visits her annually on Qixi, promising to work towards peace between humans and spirits. As such, she has never claimed the lives of any Taoist that attacks Tushan, even healing them and letting them go after defeating them.
- Debt Detestor: Hates owing anything, be it favours or money.
- Close-Range Combatant: A Lightning Bruiser with {Super Strength}}.
- Onee-sama: Yaya and Rongrong adored her for her strong will and gentle motherly nature. She encourages Yaya to develop her own abilities instead of emulating her.
- Magical Barefooter: Honghong goes barefoot as she is a fox sprit.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Honghong eyes turns red when she is angered or serious in combat.
- The Stoic: She rarely lets a sound escape her lips. She communicates via telepathy but is still laconic. Verges into the Comically Serious at times, especially when she extorts people for money. Subverted as in private she is shown to have an explosive personality.
- Tsundere: Takes her fifty years to finally admit she loves Dongfang Yuechu, and still denies it at times.
Shí Kuān/ Seki Kan (石 宽)
The Demon Emperor of the Northern Mountains. He grew up as a slave in the Kingdom of Yuyao. He made a Pledge of Love with the Princess of Yuyao during their childhood.
- Childhood Friend Romance: He fell in love with the Princess of Yuyao, who grew up with him.
- Childhood Marriage Promise: They made the Pledge of Love in Tushan in their childhood.
- I Have Many Names: Shi Kuan is known as Beishan Yaodi (北山 妖帝) and Huimie Tianjun (毁灭 天君), which means Demon Emperor of the Northern Mountains and Heavenly Lord of Destruction.
Yùyāoguó Gōngzhǔ/ Goyoukoku no Hime (御妖国 公主)
The Princess of Yuyao Kingdom. In her childhood she made a Pledge of Love with Shi Kuan, a slave boy, who later became Beishan Yaodi.
- Bodyguard Crush: Shi Kuan was her personal bodyguard.
Yán Rúyù/ - (颜 如玉)
Yan Ruyu is the only disciple of Tushan Rongrong. He learned the ability of shapeshifting from her. After leaving Tushan he roamed the world as a thief and womaniser. In the present he serves as a general for the Black Fox Spirits.
- Shapeshifting Seducer: He uses his ability to seduce young, impressionable maidens.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: He can change his appearance at will.
Lǜ Jiānwén/ - (律 笺文)
Jianwen is an actress in the present and was a bailiff in her past life. She has a very sensitive sense of smell, which allows her to identify Yan Ruyu despite his changing appearance.
- The Nose Knows: She has a very good sense of smell. Her nose is sensitive enough to let her find Yan Ruyu even with his disguises on.
Píngqiū Yuèchū/ - (平丘 月初)
Pingqiu Yuechu was the first reincarnation of Dongfang Yuechu and therefore making him the second previous life of Bai Yuechu. He made a Plegde of Love with Huandou Luolan, the Princess of the Southern Kingdom.
- Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Pingqiu Yuechu is just as handsome as his previous life.
- Mystical White Hair: He might even be more handsome than Dongfang Yuechu with his white hair.
Nánguó Gōngzhǔ, Huāndōu Luòlán/ Nangoku no Hime (南国 公主, 欢都 落兰)
The Princess of the Southern Kingdom. She has a grudge against the fox sisters and conspired with the Black Foxes to attack Tushan.
- In the Hood: Suiting her scheming acts, she always wears a ragged, grey hood.
- Poisonous Person: The Southern Kingdom is known for its poisonous arts. The royal family can create all kinds of poison with their spirit power. The Princess is seen as a genius prodigy of her family.
