Hidden Heart of Gold: Nightshade may paint herself as this villainous mastermind, but she's far from a bad person at heart. So long as her persona doesn't get the better of her in one way or another, she has the capacity of doing good and caring for others.
- For the April Fools event focusing on her, she's evidently grateful towards Streptocarpus for returning their stolen mask, though she's quick to put her persona back on to thank them in a rather Tsundere manner.
- The cake parcel case Yonkoma has her alongside Larkspur sneak a gift of cake to Streptocarpus, and not taking credit for it by delivering it in Japanese Barberry's name.
Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: Gods and goddesses knows she tries to present herself as a cunning Phantom Thief, yet any of her attempts at projecting this image is either ignored, upstaged by actual thieves, or gets undercut by just plain bad luck/klutzy coordination. What's worse, she's more effective as a hero than a villain, but she doesn't want to be viewed that way.
Not Me This Time: The "Phantom Thief" Nightshade Appears?? April Fools event features multiple Flower Knights who had their belongings stolen, and while the event name alone suggests that she'd be responsible, it's ultimately revealed that Nightshade is just as much a victim of the thieving as the rest, the final quest item to retrieve being her iconic mask.
Phantom Thief: Her general theme is this, wearing a custom fancy suit with a tophat and mask, having a Great Detective rival in Streptocarpus, and trying to live up to the image in a Card-Carrying Villain fashion. Keyword being "trying."
Wardrobe Flaw of Characterization: She naturally dresses as fancy as can be to befit her Phantom Thief image, yet one design aspect clashes with her tidy look: her top being unbuttoned in the middle, showing some cleavage.
