Characters / Evil Dead The Game Survivors

Go To

General tropes

  • Adaptational Badass: A lot of them have seemingly taken a level in badass, and are now capable of going toe-to-toe with powerful Deadites and even the Dark Ones with relative ease, whereas many were originally known for dying horribly in their debut films. Noteworthy examples are Cheryl, Ed Getley, and Annie Knowby.
  • And I Must Scream: A possessed Survivor may occasionally come to their senses while the demon is still controlling their body, leaving them helpless and horrified as they can't do anything but warn their allies not to approach them. Often times, this Survivor will end up wiping out their own team if they happen to be playing as a particularly strong character equipped with powerful weapons.
  • Fighter, Mage, Thief: Applies to the Warrior, Hunter, and Support classes, with the Leader class serving as Universalists.
    • Leaders fit just inside of the usual triangle as Universalists, good at both ranged and melee combat, but not excelling at it as Warriors and Hunters, and having decent health and some useful abilities and perks granted by their aura.
    • Warriors fill the role of the Fighter, boasting strong survivability and high melee damage, allowing them to act as the tank of the group to soak up damage in the frontline and dealing it out in turn.
    • Hunters are the Thieves, being a Critical Hit Class that's more suited to exploiting enemies distracted by Warriors to do large amounts of damage, but are generally not suited for melee fighting due to their more fragile build. As a trade-off, Hunters boast the highest amount of effective Stamina in the game, allowing them to run and dodge freely.
    • Supports are the Mages, who do their best to buff and heal their teammates from the backline. While they can fight, their kits are generally not built to, so they are best escorted by the other classes while traveling or in a scuffle.
  • Finishing Move: The survivors can use a Finisher on enemies with an empty Balance bar and on low health, finishing them off with flair, based on a melee weapon they hold. While a finisher animation is happening, the Survivor performing it also take no damage, thus potentially allowing them to No-Sell powerful attacks by carefully timing a takedown to avoid being hit. Warriors or other Survivors who specialize in balance bar damage can quite literally daisy-chain finishers together to effortlessly wipe out large clusters of non-boss enemies without taking any injuries themselves.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: All of the Warrior-class Survivors released at launch have been male characters, and even some of those who fall into the other classes like Leader Ash or The Blacksmith still have their own buffs to specific types of melee weaponry, whereas half of the Hunters are female, and Annie Knowby's Leader aura also provides a damage boost to her group's guns.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Zig-zagged. While most Survivors in bleedout will express either fear, desperation, or otherwise considerable discomfort, they also don't seem too miffed about actually dying. In fact, a dead Survivor will more often than not become even more blasé and snarky as a spirit, if they're not trying to goad their living teammates into resurrecting them.
  • Sibling Team: The game features two pairs of siblings (Ash and Cheryl Williams, Mia and David Allen) that can all be used to form a 4-man Deadite slaying squad.
  • Weapon-Based Characterization: Several survivors specialize in wielding certain types of weapons, able to use them more effectively:
    • The chainsaw is iconic and exclusive to the (three out of four, as Support Ash can't use them) variants of Ash, who are the only characters who can use them. Army of Darkness Ash has an innate bonus to chainsaw combat, and Ash vs. Evil Dead can start with one in his inventory. Additionally, Evil Dead 2 Ash has proficiency with double-barreled shotguns, but strangely enough none of the variants have a performance bonus targeting the Boomstick, which exists as a separate ranged weapon.
    • Arthur gives bonuses to others while they're engaged in melee combat, but overall he's at his best with a sword.
    • Scotty makes a great use of Lumberjack Axes.
    • Kelly is able to use Meat Hammers with deadly efficiency.
    • Amanda's specialty is pistols.
    • Ed has the "Weapon Master: Crossbow" skill.
    • Mia has innate bonuses with Machetes.
    • David is proficient with Nailguns.
  • World of Snark: This is the Evil Dead universe, alright? Everyone and their mother's got a witty one-liner even for the most mundane actions.

Characters

    open/close all folders

Leader

  • Ineffectual Loner: Unlike the other three classes, whose abilities can still function with more or less the same effectiveness when separated from their group, Leaders (with the possible exception of Leader Ash) need their teammates to be around them for their auras and powers to be truly effective, and their limited capacities for fighting back and self-sustaining makes them a tempting target for the Demon player should they be separated from the party for any reason.
  • Jack of All Stats: Most of their traits are in the middle between Hunter and Warrior, and they can comfortably switch between required roles at will. Their Pink F upgrade sheets are also quite balanced, with no particular leaning towards either playstyle, but an effective middle-ground.
  • Nerves of Steel: The Leader class is naturally the most resilient to Fear, which is reflected by their higher "panic" threshold than others, and the ability to reach up to tier 5 in resistance upgrades with Pink F, which also allows them to recover from Fear faster while standing in a well-lit area.
  • Not Too Dead to Save the Day: Leader Survivors can unlock the I Can Still Help skill, which enables them to still apply their auras even when they're dead or in bleedout.
  • Status Buff: The Leader survivors through the use of their abilities can give others bonuses.

Ash Williams (Ash vs. Evil Dead
Voiced by: Bruce Campbell
Origin: Ash vs. Evil Dead
"When evil shows up, it blows up. Yeah, I'm still working on that one."
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Ash Williams.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: One of his alternative costume choices is the formal suit that he wore to Candace Barr's funeral in Season 3 of Ash vs. Evil Dead.
  • Boring, but Practical: Where Leader Ash lacks the bells and whistles that make Annie, Brock and Lord Arthur very strong given the right compositions, he works equally well regardless of who his teammates are, as El Jefe's buff doesn't discriminate based on class and weapon choice. As well, being able to resist Fear build up is significantly more practical than frequently having to drain it at campfires due to the limited availability of matchsticks, and his active skill is the best of the three at breaking out of a hairy situation with its Break Meter damage and ability to stumble all non-boss enemies in its radius.
  • Chainsaw Good: His weapon, and he will begin each match with it in his inventory starting at level 10.
  • Feeling Their Age: Most of Leader Ash's quotes other than wisecracks are him complaining about the effects of several decades of aging's had on him.
Ash: I'm not even winded. Well, maybe a little.
  • The Leader: His El Jefe talent is represented as Ash channeling an aura of sheer badassery that inspires nearby allies to physically hit harder and become more resistant to Fear, and if he displays proficiency in combat, in the form of El Jefe Grande, this inspiration effect becomes significantly stronger for a few seconds. For bonus points, his class is literally named this.
  • Shockwave Stomp: His active ability has him triumphantly raise his hand and release a shockwave that deals heavy damage to the enemy units' balance bar.
     Annie Knowby
Voiced by: Cissy Jones
Origin: Evil Dead 2
"Whatever's out there, we'll fight it together."
For tropes related to her main series appearances, see Evil Dead - The Cabin.
  • And This Is for...: Annie will claim kills in her father's name when performing a takedown.
  • Apologetic Attacker: She begs Henrietta forgiveness if she kills her as a Boss demon.
  • Break Meter: Annie's other specialty is a buff to her allies' balance bar damage, which lets them stagger basic and boss Evil units more easily when standing in her aura.
  • Informed Ability: Her character selection flavor text describes Annie as having an innate ability to detect objectives from a great distance, which is actually a generic perk available to all Leaders and Supports, and isn't a trait unique to her alone.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Her abilities are mostly focused on increasing the capabilities of ranged weapons, letting them do more damage.
  • Revolvers Are Just Better: Her character art and skill icons seem to suggest that Annie has a preference for revolvers.
  • Situational Sword: Zig-zagged. While Annie's active skill and starting passive only really benefit a group of Hunters and at best a gun-using Support, her Haymaker and Slugger talents are universally useful regardless of her group's composition.
  • You Don't Look Like You: Of the entire Survivors roster, Annie is the one who resembles her movie counterpart the least, sporting considerably different facial profiles than Sarah Berry's version of the character, as well as flowing, wavy hair, whereas her film incarnation had curly hair instead.
     Lord Arthur
Voiced by: Piotr Michael
Origin: Army of Darkness
"My sword's by your side."
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Other Characters.
  • Close-Range Combatant: Arthur specializes in buffing his team's melee damage, and he also receives the same bonuses, making him a less durable quasi-Warrior that is able to use guns without serious penalties.
  • Cool Sword: Lord Arthur receives a unique one in the Homecoming King mission, where it is strong enough to almost one-shot any Elite enemynote  and is the only weapon that can truly defeat Evil Ash at the end of the level. His weapon is also a longsword, where one is immediately given to him upon match start, and his active ability receives a damage buff if he's wielding a blade.
  • Flaming Sword: Arthur's "The Lord's Wrath" ability actually sets his sword on fire if he's wielding one.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: He starts every match with a sword in his hand, and his active ability benefits him when he has it.
  • Kill Streak: His Level 25 passive, "Fuel the Fire", encourages Arthur to keep chaining Finishers and killing enemies with them to prolong the duration of his ability.
  • Situational Sword: Sword pun not intended. Lord Arthur's aura only buffs melee damage of himself and nearby Survivors, which makes him a dubious pick when the group is comprised primarily of Hunters, who rely on their guns for the bulk of their power, with the only Survivor of that class who can really benefit from having him in the party at all being Kelly, and only if she's using her hammer instead of her firearms for whatever reason. This makes him the diametric opposite of Annie Knowby, whose aura buffs ranged damage instead.
  • Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe: He speaks like this in-game, despite his movie counterpart having a considerably more modern vernacular.

     Ruby
Voiced by: Lucy Lawless
Origin: Ash vs. Evil Dead
"I fought with Attila the Hun and Genghis Khan. This ought to be a breeze. Right?"
For tropes related to her main series appearances, see Evil Dead - The Evil Dead.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Having lost her immortality and a considerable part of her powers after the events of Ash vs. Evil Dead season 1, Ruby still possesses some of her Dark One properties and can kick as much ass as her fellow Survivors.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Despite being a Dark One, albeit a depowered one, Ruby can still be possessed by the Kandarian Demon should her Fear meter hits its danger threshold.
  • Humans Are Special: If she helps destroy the Dark Ones, she claims that despite the world being filled by foolish humans, it's still worth saving.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: She can't use or receive Shields, so instead she has a special skill tree called Aura that upgrades her active ability, allowing her to receive more souls from slain enemies.
  • Nerves of Steel: Ruby takes it to the extreme with her level 10 passive, "Anathema", that puts her Fear threshold at the very end of the bar, making her very risky playstyle a bit safer.
  • Token Heroic Orc: Technically an Anti-Hero all things considered, Ruby is still a Dark One who fights on the Survivors' side against her former compatriots and the Kandarian Demon.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: She absorbs the soul of fallen enemies to empower her aura and active ability.

     Brock Williams
Voiced by:
Origin: Ash vs. Evil Dead
"Name's Brock Williams. But you can call me anytime."
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Other Characters.
  • Dirty Old Man: His lecherous attitude, while toned down for the game, is still present.
  • Human Pack Mule: Brock's level 25 passive, "I'm the Manager", allows him to carry more ammo and items than most other characters.
  • Immune to Flinching: His active ability, "All Eyes On Me", makes him resistant to knockback, giving him a chance to avoid being stunlocked.
  • Mighty Glacier: He's got 5 upgrade points in both Melee and Ranged, making him a threat at any distance, but only meager 2 points in Stamina.
  • Papa Wolf: He loves his children very much, and his level 10 talent, "Blood Ties", reflects that by giving him and the allies in the aura damage reduction for every member of his family in the match.

Warrior

  • Close-Range Combatant: Their best strength lies in melee combat, and thus they synergize with Lord Arthur. Conversely, their ranged damage capabilities are very stunted, with Pink F upgrades being capped at two blocks.
  • Mighty Glacier: They hit hard and are able to take serious damage, but lack stamina compared to Hunters.

     Ash Williams (Army of Darkness
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Ash Williams.
  • Armor Is Useless: While one of his pre-order skins has a chest plate on, it's purely for cosmetic purposes, and Ash takes the same amount of damage whether he's wearing that or going basically bare-chested with his basic costume.
  • Bottled Heroic Resolve: Drinking from his Wiseman's Potion provides a hefty Fear reduction in addition to the other benefits of the buff.
  • Chainsaw Good: Naturally. His level 25 talent gives him a performance bonus to chainsaw attacks, though unlike Leader Ash, he doesn't begin a match with one.
  • Continuity Snarl: His default skin was designed after his disheveled looks at the end of Evil Dead 2 rather than his official outfit the third film, and yet he already sports the metal hand that he built after arriving in 14th century England in Army of Darkness. By the time he actually had the metal hand constructed, Ash had already switched to a more period-appropriate attire.
  • Deadly Force Field: Ash's passive ability has him release a burst of energy if a shield bar is depleted.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He stands out among other versions of Ash by being the snarkiest of the lot, belting out one-liners with the speed of a machine gun.
  • Healing Potion: While everyone has access to Shemp's Cola to restore their health, Army of Darkness Ash has an active ability called "Wiseman's Potion", where he chugs a potion that restores his health and lowers his Fear level while also increasing the damage he deals and decreases the damage he receives.
  • If I Do Not Return: If he's put into bleedout and is about to die, he'll ask the others to tell Sheila that he loves her.
     Scotty
Voiced by: Rich DeManincor
Origin: The Evil Dead (1981)
"Time to party like it's 1981!"
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - The Cabin.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Not that the original Scotty was a saint or anything, but he was at the very least shown to be rather close to Ash and caring towards his girlfriend Shelly, even after the latter was possessed had had to be put down. His in-game portrayal is more or less a coward hidden behind a false sense of bravado, who's more than willing to ditch his wounded allies if it means his hide is safe, and his bleedout quotes indicate that he's possibly the most fearful of all Survivors of dying. This implies that the game version of Scotty was inspired by his post-Break the Haughty phase in the first film, where he became significantly self-serving and terrified after killing Shelly and being attacked in the woods.
  • Cowardly Lion: Implied in one of his quotes when turning on the flashlight, with him making a Suspiciously Specific Denial that he needed illumination to see Deadites die, not because he's afraid or anything. This is exemplified in gameplay where Scotty gets reduced fear for every kill he makes.
  • Herd-Hitting Attack: His initial passive, "Collateral Damage", makes it so a portion of the damage he deals to an enemy with heavy attack is spread to other enemies around him.
  • Hypocrite: Being in bleedout will have Scotty frantically begging the others to save him and not leave him behind, while he himself is more than happy to use a wounded teammate as bait for the Deadites so he could get away.
  • No One Gets Left Behind: Subverted. Even though Scotty may appear brave and assuring when reviving his fellow Survivors, if they're downed and almost dead, he'll coldly suggest that the others leave them behind as bait. Gets especially cruel when the dying Survivor is Support Ash.
  • Shockwave Stomp: His active ability, "Thunder Thrust", has him release a damaging wave in a small radius around himself.

     Henry the Red
Voiced by: Dave B. Mitchell
Origin: Army of Darkness
"A bloody end awaits the fiends that cross my path!"
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Other Characters.
  • Appropriated Appellation: Henry seems to have taken a liking to "Fancypants", after Ash sarcastically called him such in their first meeting in Army of Darkness, and will proudly claim kills in this name when performing takedowns.
  • Attack Reflector: His level 10 talent lets him reflect a portion of damage dealt to him back to his attackers if he has at least some shield meter. Combined with how Unstoppable makes him practically invulnerable for 7 seconds, this translates into an insane amount of damage being reflected if the enemy is relentless, since they will be tearing themselves apart with their own high DPS.
  • Brave Scot: Although the film didn't specify where "the Northland" is, the in-game version of Henry seems to suggest that it is Scotland, which is indeed situated north of England. He's even given a kilt in his casual outfit, which is appropriately named "Scottish Vibe".
  • No-Sell: Henry's "Unstoppable" ability makes him immune to any damage for a few seconds.
  • Stone Wall: His kit is perhaps the closest to an actual "tank" in this game, with strong emphasis on survivability, a metric ton of health and shield bar extensions, on top of his ability to No-Sell all damage for 7 seconds every now and then.
     Mia Allen
Voiced by: Julie Nathanson
Origin: Evil Dead (2013)
"None of us are getting out of here if we don't fight this thing."
For tropes related to her main series appearances, see Evil Dead (2013).
  • Achilles' Heel: Not having enough enemies to kill while Uncontrollable is active, which deprives Mia of a way to manage her Fear buildup after the Possession protection has ended. This basically forces her into Attack! Attack! Attack! mode while the ability is up, so if the Demon player is crafty enough to limit the amount of trash mobs that they throw at her, they can just wait out the timer on Uncontrollable and then Possess her when she becomes vulnerable.
  • Adaptation Deviation: Mia's possessed form is more in line in appearance with Ash's continuity than her own, sporting milky white eyes and wrinkled skin instead of the Supernatural Gold Eyes seen in Evil Dead (2013).
  • Critical Status Buff: Not health-wise, but Fear-wise. Mia's starting passive Fear to Anger synergizes very well with Uncontrollable, with her receiving a stacking damage buff the higher her Fear meter is, making her the a damage monster when the meter is filled up. Making the most of this gimmick definitely qualifies her as Difficult, but Awesome, given that being at high Fear runs the risk of being Possessed, especially so considering the window of time between each cast of Uncontrollable.
  • Damage Over Time: Her Blood Rain passive causes enemies who took Mia's heavy attacks to bleed for five seconds. This bleed is scaled to 10% of the damage of the heavy attack that procced it.
  • Final Boss: A Possessed Mia is the final boss of her brother David's mission Weekend at Knowby's. She technically makes a case of Bookends as well, as she's also the first in a string of boss fights for that mission, unless one picked up Ash's hand first and fought Pablo before her.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Inverted. Of the two Allen siblings, Mia is the one built for melee as per her movie incarnation, whereas David is handy with a nailgun.
  • Irony: Mia's game incarnation allows her to basically shrug off Demonic Possession entirely for 25 seconds with Uncontrollable, whereas Movie!Mia spent most of her time in the reboot as a Deadite thrall.
  • Machete Mayhem: Her level 25 passive gives her buffs when she's using a machete.
  • No-Sell: While her active skill Uncontrollable is active, Mia is flat-out immune to possession, but her Fear meter will begin ramping up at an increased rate that can't be mitigated by group buffs or Support utilities. When Uncontrollable ends, her Fear meter will drain according to the number of enemies Mia has killed during the duration of the skill.

Hunter

  • Critical Hit Class: Hunters specialize in dealing massive amounts of gun damage that are bolstered by their innately high critical chances, allowing them to drop many stronger targets and make Swiss cheese out of bosses at a distance. They are the only class that can reliably score orange and red Critical Hits, and a properly-built Hunter can one-shot most non-boss enemies with ease.
  • Glass Cannon: With the right gun, Hunters are able to deal a lot of damage, but their health can't be upgraded past 2 points.
  • Long-Range Fighter: They specialize in ranged weapons, and thus synergize best with Annie Knowby as the Leader.
  • Nerves of Steel: While not on the level of Leaders and their respective upgrades capping out at 3, Hunters possess a higher tolerance for Fear than Warriors and Supports. As Hunters typically serve as away scouts for the group, they're the most likely to suffer from the Fear build up of isolation and traps, which they compensate for by their resistance and reduction perks, most notably the Light Therapy upgrade that's otherwise only available to Leaders, allowing them to operate for much longer periods of time away from their allies.

     Ash Williams (Evil Dead 2
Voiced by: Bruce Campbell
Origin: Evil Dead 2
"Something is out there, something that forced its way into our world."
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Ash Williams.
  • Adaptational Wimp: At least where his athletics are concerned, as the Kandarian Demon has absolutely no problem catching up to and overtaking him in a chase due to it moving much more quickly than a Survivor can sprint, and Hunter Ash still has a limit on stamina despite the properties of his class. This is in contrast to how things went in the films, especially Evil Dead 2, where Ash managed to lose the Demon on several occasions simply by outrunning it.
  • Banishing Ritual: His "Exorcist" ability allows him to exorcize the Demon from any possessed Survivor or basic unit, while, if used on a possessed elite unit on a boss, dealing severe damage to their Infernal Energy amount.
  • Seen It All: This version of him is remarkably more somber and stoic when killing large amounts of Deadites, and the tone of his delivery implies that the Evil forces fought in the game are small peanuts compared to what he's seen, which is understandable given the horrors of the tragedy he had just been through up to this point in the film series.
Ash: Are you trying to scare me? Do you even know all of the things I've seen?
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: His weapon is the standard double-barreled shotgun, which is buffed by his level 25 perk, and if he's at least level 10, he will begin a match with one.
  • X-Ray Vision: He can sense supply chests through walls if he's close enough to them.
     Ed Getley
Voiced by: Jon Bailey
Origin: Evil Dead 2
"Associate Professor of Ancient History Ed Getley, ready for action."
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - The Cabin.
  • Dispel Magic: Ed's "It's a Trap" ability allows him to use his specialized flashlight to prevent any scare traps from being activated.
  • If I Do Not Return: Like Warrior Ash, if Ed is put into bleedout and looking like he's about to die, he will ask the others to tell Annie that he loves her. He will say this even if Annie herself is in the group and reviving him as he's saying it.
  • Luck Manipulation Mechanic: His Level 25 ability, "The Collector", manipulates the game's RNG, making it more probable that defeated enemies may drop ammo or items and also increasing the chance of higher rarity Supply Crates spawning on the map.
  • Situational Sword: In the current meta, how strong Ed can be depends largely on how the Kandarian Demon wants to spend their infernal energy. Against a hyper-aggressive Demon who focuses on Zerg Rushing the Survivors with units instead of spamming fear traps for back-to-back possession and harassment, Ed's active ability sees little to no use. Conversely, if the Demon player is focused on being the Trap Master who likes to booby-trap supply chests, which is especially the case with Ed in the group as he has a passive which causes higher-tier crates to spawn, he instead becomes a huge nuisance due to his ability to substantially drain their infernal energy every time he disabled one of their fear traps.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: His weapon mastery talent gives him a damage and dismemberment bonus with both normal and explosive crossbows.
  • Utility Party Member: Unlike his fellow Hunters, Ed's ability selection is mostly geared towards team support than actual offensive capabilities. His flashlight-based ability is uniquely useful by letting him sense and disarm Fear traps set by the Kandarian demon, which allows his teammates to move freely about and loot chests without the risk of an ambush, while his level 25 passive basically turns most enemies into Metal Slimes that will drop ammo or a restorative item when slain, and chests will spawn in better qualities just by having him in the group.
     Kelly Maxwell
Voiced by: Dana DeLorenzo
Origin: Ash vs. Evil Dead
"This thing took my parents. I want payback."
For tropes related to her main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Other Characters.
  • Blood Knight: As usual, Kelly is extremely enthusiastic about fighting Deadites, and her personal perks are all combat-oriented and designed to improve her power for prolonged battles.
  • Damage Over Time: While her active ability is up, shots fired by Kelly will cause enemies to bleed for a short duration and potentially killing them. This even extends to the Necromancer's mooks which are literally just bones, that can still somehow die of blood loss. Her level 10 talent, Countershot, will also inflict bleeding damage to the next enemy she shoots after a successful dodge.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Unlike her fellow Survivors, Kelly's quotes indicate that she doesn't enjoy the taste of Shemp's Cola very much.
Kelly: Why people drink these by choice, I'll never know.
  • Fragile Speedster: Kelly is a damage powerhouse with the defensive strength of a wet napkin, owing to the drawbacks of her class. However, her unique talents promote a playstyle focused on a lot of dodging and swiftly weaving in damage while the enemy is recovering. With her level 10 talent, Kelly can pretty much dance circles around her target with plenty of stamina to spare while she chips away at their health, but if they manage to land a good hit on her, she will feel it for days.
  • Improvised Weapon: Her favorite weapon is the meat tenderizer that she wielded in season 1, most memorably during the diner fight. She even has a perk that benefits this specific weapon.
  • It's Personal: She seems to have it out for Eligos for what he made her do to Pablo when he was possessing her in season 1 of Ash vs. Evil Dead, as indicated by her execution quotes.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Despite belonging to a class focusing on ranged fighting, Kelly's weapon is a meat hammer, and her Battle Frenzy perk actually increases her melee damage the longer she's been engaging in combat. This makes it somewhat viable to spec into a hybrid build with melee, allowing Kelly to effectively kite enemies with proper use of her power.
     Amanda Fisher
Voiced by: Kimberly Brooks
Origin: Ash vs. Evil Dead
"A week ago I was having lunch with my partner, and now everything's messed up."
For tropes related to her main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Other Characters.
  • Bottomless Magazines: Amanda's "Ammo for Days" ability allows her to shoot without spending ammo and without reloading her ranged weapon for several seconds, making it especially deadly with one-shot high-power firearms, and provides strong synergy with the Last Chance perk, which buffs the damage of the last shot in her magazine, allowing her to unleash a can of whoopass by activating her ability with one round left in her gun.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: Her Accuracy Counts passive gives her a stacking damage buff if she can land successive shots on a single target. This is limited to one instance at a time even when using weapons that can hit multiple targets like shotguns to prevent abuse, and resets if she switches to a different enemy or misses.
  • I Am the Noun: "I am the law!" when performing an execution move.
  • Miranda Rights: Upon killing an Evil unit, Amanda may remind them of their right to remain silent.

Support

  • Combat Medic: The Support class Survivors are technically this, being able to impart the effects of Shemp's Cola and amulets to nearby allies when they consume those items. Additionally, Cheryl's specialty is healing others, as her "Healing Touch" ability can create a healing zone to help her teammates, and her proximity health restoration via Shemp's Cola is stronger than that of the other Survivors of her class.
  • Item Caddy: With the exception of Support Ash, each of the other four members have some unique synergies with a specific restorative item, thus encouraging the group to prioritize and donate these items to them if possible, with Cheryl and David boosting the AoE healing powers of Shemp's Cola they consume while also imparting buffs or other boons, and Pablo and the Blacksmith having better Amulet economy as well as being able to boost their allies by using one near them. Additionally, their class passives let them carry more supplies of all kinds than their teammates.
  • Master of None: Much like Leaders, they have pretty average stats in most categories and don't excel in any one, with their melee and ranged damage having a 20% penalty.
  • Support Party Member: While they can certainly hold their own, the Support class Survivors still mostly fulfill a non-combat function, healing others and providing additional support with their abilities.

     Ash Williams (The Evil Dead
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Ash Williams.
  • Boom, Headshot!: His "Marked Target" abilities require him to land headshots on the enemies, giving him and fellow Survivors more bonuses if they attack marked foes.
  • Cowardly Lion: The Evil Dead Ash is very much just a frightened college student who's trying his best to stay alive and out of trouble, and his quotes often reflect his lack of badassery exhibited by his later versions. That doesn't stop him from going ham on the Deadites when he has to, however.
  • The Heart: His Reassuring Presence ability allows him to considerably reduce his and nearby teammates' Fear meter when activated.
  • Life Drain: He has two perks that allow this.
    • Alternative Healing lets Ash heal himself and other survivors by hitting enemies with heavy attacks. Combine it with a quick weapon, like a hunting knife, and you a consistent stream of healing every time you engage in combat, and he has good synergy with Lord Arthur as a result, who provides a hefty buff to heavy melee attacks.
    • Marked Target: Healing is the ranged version of this, where if Ash scores a headshot on an enemy, a follow-up shot from an ally will heal them for a percentage of the damage dealt. As the flip side to Alternative Healing, this allows him to team up with Annie Knowby as well, who provides a gun damage buff with her aura.
  • Shovel Strike: His menu animation depicts him with a shovel, even though he himself doesn't start matches with it nor does he have a shovel-specific buff.
     Cheryl Williams
Voiced by: Ellen Sandweiss
Origin: The Evil Dead (1981)
"I know someone's out there. I heard you down in the cellar."
For tropes related to her main series appearances, see Evil Dead - The Cabin.
  • Bottled Heroic Resolve: In addition to usual health restoration, Cheryl can lower her teammates' and her own Fear level by drinking a Shemp's.
  • Healing Potion: Her personal perks are entirely designed around hoarding and using Shemp's Cola, which can also reduce the Fear meter of nearby allies when she drinks one. When combined with the standard Support capacity upgrades, Cheryl basically becomes a beverage-filled Bag of Holding on legs.
  • Informed Equipment: Though she doesn't have any weapon-related perks, Cheryl seems to be consistently depicted as a hunting rifle user, both in the menu animations and promotional materials.
     Pablo Simon Bolivar
Voiced by: Ray Santiago
Origin: Ash vs. Evil Dead
"I've faced this thing before. Time to finish what I've started."
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead - Other Characters.
  • Barrier Warrior: He specializes in creating shield amulets and using them on himself and others.
  • Invisibility Cloak: Pablo's "Infernal Camouflage" passive makes him invisible to the Demon and allows him to perform noisy actions (shooting, driving a car) without being marked on the map. He can also use amulets to temporarily give other survivors this ability.
  • Regenerating Shield, Static Health: Pablo's level 25 passive allows him to slowly restore a shield bar.
  • Revolvers Are Just Better: Like in the serial, Pablo seems to be depicted most consistently with a revolver.
  • The Sneaky Guy: Pablo, thanks to his "Infernal Camouflage" passive, can often go solo undetected to the Demon and perform objectives while the rest of the team are completely in a different place. This also applies to combat, as Pablo also doesn't have an outline that indicates his position on the screen.
     David Allen
Voiced by: Shiloh Fernandez
Origin: Evil Dead (2013)
"I don't believe all this voodoo crap... but I'm willing to try anything at this point."
For tropes related to his main series appearances, see Evil Dead (2013).
  • Big Brother Instinct: He often takes a protective stance towards other survivors and especially his sister, telling himself to keep Pink F away from her. He even compliments Mia in gameplay, as she's incredibly prone to being possessed due to her kit. David's skills focus on lowering fear and punishing the demon for trying to possess when he has his power, effectively nullifying the Mia's biggest weakness as long as they stick together.
  • Damage Reduction: His "Soda Pop" talent gives him and other survivors a defense buff when he drinks Shemp's Cola.
  • Does Not Like Spam: He doesn't like Pink F that much, saying that something this sweet can't be good for you.
  • Fire Purifies: His active ability, "Beacon of Hope", has David pour gasoline on the ground and create a fire that lowers the survivors' Fear and increases the cost of possession for the Demon.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Inverted. Of the two Allen siblings, David is the one proficient with a ranged weapon and belongs to a class that does its thing best from a distance, while Mia is the tanky one focused primarily on melee.
  • Nail 'Em: His weapon mastery talent helps him make great use of nail guns.

     The Blacksmith

  • Status Buff: Once he reaches level 25, the Blacksmith gains the "Rough and Ready" passive, which, in addition a chance not to spend an amulet, gives him and his allies increased damage for a short period of time whenever he uses amulets.
  • Stout Strength: He's a solidly built man that can take more damage that other Support characters with his "Tough as Nails" ability.
