    Amy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amy_tdpi_6136.png

"I just saw Samey's pathetic audition tape for Total Drama, so I decided to submit my own. Cuz oh my gag, who'd pick her over me?! I was born first, and Samey has been coming in last ever since! My bags are already packed, so send the limo."

Voiced by: Bryn McAuley

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon)

  • Alpha Bitch: Complete with cheerleader status.
  • Attention Whore: She constantly upstages Samey, and she often takes the credit for Samey's hard work. Also, when Samey tries to stand up for herself, Amy has the audacity to call her an "attention hog".
  • Back for the Dead: She returns just long enough to get Samey eliminated.
  • Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: According to her, she is the beauty and the brains, and Samey is the doer of stuff that stinks.
    • Sticking with the trope's intended definition, Amy and Samey would be the Beauties, Scarlett the Brains, and Jasmine the Brawn for Team Kinosewak.
  • Berserk Button: A lot of Amy's Berserk Buttons involve Samey in some way.
    • Anyone complementing Samey or taking Samey's side.
    • Confusing her for Samey. She goes off on a short rant about it after it is revealed that Samey impersonated her.
    • Calling her fat. When Samey calls Amy a "bossy blonde cow", the twins get into a straight up fistfight.
  • Big Sister Bully: She's 17 minutes older than Samey, according to a confessional in "I Love You, Grease Pig" and always acts this way towards Samey.
Jasmine: Well, good thing for Samey they weren't born Siamese twins, or I'd reckon Amy would have eaten her by now!
  • Bitch Alert: Her audition video and how she treats Samey in "So, Uh, This is My Team?" firmly establishes her as a bitch, more so than Heather.
  • Blah, Blah, Blah: She does this while mocking Samey.
Amy: Way to make a total fool of yourself in front of everybody, Samey! (mocking Samey) "Oh, I got the food, and I'm the nice one! Blah blah blah!"
  • Book Dumb: When she claims that she is a parfait, she states that it's German for "perfect" when it's actually French.
  • Bully and Wimp Pairing: A rare female example, she is the Bully to Samey's Wimp.
  • Cain and Abel: In "So, Uh, This is My Team?", Amy tries to invoke the trope with her as Cain and Samey as Abel when she kicks her sister away as they were freefalling; however, the trope is subverted when Samey had an actual parachute.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Her title is "The Evil Twin".
  • Cat Fight: She gets involved in one with Samey twice in "A Blast from the Past."
  • Characters as Device: Many accuse her of only existing for the sole purpose of being a springboard for Samey's Character Development.
  • Crocodile Tears/Wounded Gazelle Gambit: She pretends to be insulted by Samey in order to gain sympathy from her teammates and to make them distrust Samey.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Amy and Samey's conflict is focused on heavily during "Twinning Isn't Everything", in which the latter eliminates the former.
  • Death in the Limelight: As mentioned above, "Twinning Isn't Everything", the episode with Amy's largest focus is also the one in which she is eliminated.
  • Determinator: Swam all the way back to the island after being eliminated just so she could get revenge on Samey.
  • Dirty Coward: She uses Samey as a Human Shield when Chef fired tennis balls at them.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: While she isn't the Big Bad, she still served as the season's primary drama starter for the first few episodes, but was quickly replaced due to her early elimination.
  • Distinguishing Mark: The mole under Amy's right eye, which serves as an Identical Twin ID Tag between her and Samey. Samey even applies one on her own cheek while posing as Amy.
  • The Dividual: With Samey.
  • Dumb Blonde: Downplayed; she's Book Dumb but Street Smart, knowing how to manipulate people, especially Samey.
  • Enfant Terrible: Amy has practically bullied Samey since birth.
  • Entitled Bitch: As the elder sister, she expects Samey to do her every whim.
  • Evil Laugh: She gives one off when she thinks Samey's going home. However, little did Amy know, Samey had set her up for a fall.
  • Evil Twin: Her label.
  • Expy: Of Trina Riffin, from her mean personality to the language she uses when talks, as well as both of them bearing huge hatred for a younger sibling, and have attempted to murder them before. Furthermore both forced their "slave" to change their name so that it would rhyme with theirs. In fact, it's quite likely Bryn McAuley used her as a model.
  • Face–Heel Turn: In Magic Melodies she return to being bad thanks to Jericho and her old ways of trying to upstage Sammy.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Somewhat lampshaded by Rodney when he said she had "the voice of an angel".
  • Flat Character: She never does anything that isn't related to tormenting Samey.
  • The Glorious War of Sisterly Rivalry: Reaches its climax in "A Blast from the Past" when Samey becomes more willing to fight back.
  • Hate Sink: Given she serves no real purpose to the plot beyond being Samey's Big Sister Bully. Also see Characters as Device.
  • Hidden Depths: According to Samey, Amy still sucks her thumb while she sleeps.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: Her bullying Samey is what leads to her downfall.
  • It's All About Me: See Attention Whore.
  • Jerkass: She's selfish, cruel, heartless, almost never makes an attempt to hide this, and treats her sister with absolutely NO respect. Also, she acts this way towards almost everyone else, particularly Rodney and Jasmine.
  • Kick the Dog: To Samey far too often. She even literally kicks her sister, hoping she will plummet to her death in the first episode. Eventually, The Dog Bites Back.
(As Amy and Samey are free-falling, with the latter holding on to the former's leg)
Amy: (after she pulls her ripcord and gets a parachute) Ohhh! I'll miss you, sis! Not much! But... (laughs) ...probably not at all. LATER!!! (Amy kicks Samey away)
Samey: (pulls her ripcord and gets a chute) Yes!!
Amy: Ugh! Fine! You can live!
  • The Lancer: On Team Kinosewak, as she is the most authoritative person after team leader Jasmine, and has a personality that's the polar opposite of hers. On top of that they constantly clash due to their mixed views about Samey.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Gets hit with it hard, courtesy of Samey.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: The Dark to Samey's Light.
  • The Load: Amy is pretty much useless to her team as she forces Samey to do all her dirty work.
  • Malicious Misnaming:
    • First, she calls her sister Samey, then comes up with a new, even more disparaging name in the confessional, "Spareamy".
    • She calls Rodney "Mumbles".
  • Manipulative Bitch: She manages to get her team to turn on Samey.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Besides springboarding Samey's development, this is the only thing she's good for.
  • Never My Fault: She always pins the blame on Samey for her mistakes.
Amy: (after Team Kinosewak loses their first challenge) UGH! Way to go, Samey! You ruined everything!
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Amy is cruel, snarky, and selfish; a stark contrast to her kind-hearted, bubbly, and generous sister.
  • Pretty Freeloader: However, instead of leeching off a man, Amy leeches off Samey.
  • Pride: She believes that she's above her sister (and almost everyone else). This eventually becomes her Fatal Flaw.
  • Psychopathic Woman Child: Despite being the older twin, Amy is shown to be very childish and immature compared to Samey. Examples include her always blaming Samey for her faults, acting like an innocent victim in front of her team when Samey chews her out, taking credit for Samey's accomplishments and ideas, and stealing whatever Samey has. When Team Kinosewak suffers its first loss, Amy tattles on Samey like a kindergartner. In fact, according to Samey, Amy still sucks her thumb. In a nutshell, she is just a spoiled, bratty toddler trapped in a teenager's body.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Leads to her own, and later Samey's, downfall.
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: She does this after Jasmine congratulates Samey for taking out Dave in "Twinning Isn't Everything".
Amy: Whoa! Loud Cough of Interruption! (pushes Samey down) I was the one who took Dave out, not Samey!
  • Small Name, Big Ego: She is very arrogant, and Samey eventually uses this against her.
  • Smug Snake: Samey is not the only one she treats like trash, and extends this courtesy to others on her team like Rodney and Jasmine.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute:
    • She is essentially a younger version of Blaineley, in terms of her vain personality and physical appearance.
    • Her relationship with Samey is also comparable to Heather's relationship with Lindsay.
  • Theme Twin Naming: Amy and Samey.
  • Too Dumb to Live: She is more concerned with one-upping Samey than she is with helping her team. This is what ultimately leads to her downfall. In "Twinning Isn't Everything", if Amy had just let Samey take their last shot hit or miss, Team Kinosewak could have potentially won the challenge on a stalemate, since Team Kinosewak would have three unmarked members against Shawn, Team Maskwak's last man standing.
  • Tsurime Eyes
  • The Unintelligible: After she eats a poisonous manchineel fruit. Samey exploits this to eliminate Amy in her place.
  • Valley Girl: "Oh my gag!"

    Anne Maria
See her entry on Team Spirit

    Delilah
  • Attention Witch: Her sole purpose of learning dark magic not because she's evil but to gain respect which is why she sneaks out a lot to find a rare magical item.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: To her little sister, Desirah
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • She maybe an evil witch and teases her sister Desirah, she has hatred towards Amy for how she treats Samey.
    • She also hates it when a person is only judged on the outside.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite being an evil witch and teasing Desirah, she actually cares about her and is against Amy mistreating Samey.

    Desirah
  • Meaningful Name: Her name means "desire/crave/hope for" which fits her name since she, like her sister, wants to learn magic and hope to become a good witch.
  • Nice Girl: She, along with Kaylie, Grace, and Serenata, is one of the sweetest and nicest girl on the team.

    Ivan
  • Animal Motifs: In Obstacle Claw-ourse, he was turned into a dog, which fit him since hunters use dogs and dogs are skilled hunters.

    Professor Jericho Jekyll
  • Eviler than Thou: It says his heart's black as night and claims Mal was "dandruff" compared to him but Erin and a few are skeptical about it.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Jericho's evil and cruel compared to Leviticus's kind and gentleman nature.

    Kaylie

    Leviticus Jekyll
  • All-Loving Hero: He reformed Amy and Sugar after telling Erin to give them a chance to be one a show.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Compared to his evil, heart dark as midnight brother, Leviticus's mannerly, pacifist, and kind.

    Max

"I feel being a contestant on Total Drama would be a great step in TAKING OVER THE WORLD! BUAHAHAHA! And also meeting people, I don’t get out much. I should warn you, I am evil. I know right now you’re probably saying: 'We’ve had plenty of evil on our show.' To that, I say NAY. You have never seen evil like me. I am beyond evil, we need a new word for the evil that I am. I've been working on that, but with my French horn lessons and the baby sitting, there's just no time."

Voiced by: Bruce Dow

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon), Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears)

  • Ambiguously Human: When comparing his appearance alongside that of other characters, it's sometimes hard not to cast some doubt over his species.
  • Animals Hate Him: He is attacked by animals a lot.
  • Attention Whore: His desire to be a super-villain is certainly some kind of cry for attention.
  • The Beast Master: It seems this way when his helmet turns a grease pig evil, but this is subverted when it betrays him.
  • Butt-Monkey: Nobody really cares for him, and he's usually on the receiving end of all jokes.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: His title is "The Super-Villain", plus he never stops reminding everyone of how "evil" he is.
  • Catchphrase:
    • "Time to EVIL!", which he literally states as such.
    • "REVENGE!!!", when he feels that he has been wronged.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: He's extremely unsuccessful for a cheater in Total Drama.
  • The Chew Toy: More often than not, he brings his pain upon himself.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: While he usually sucks at being evil there are moments when he is genuinely competent, for example when he shocks Ella in episode 5 with help from Scarlett.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Happens to him when he's around babies.
  • Ditzy Genius: Can make a near working mind control helmet out of various junk, but isn't smart enough to plug a loose wire in.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Is surprisingly good with babies and has a soft spot for them.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • He tells Samey that her jealousy towards Amy is the lowest form of evil.
    • Apparently, threatening to kill people is going too far for him. After Scarlett reveals her true self, he is seen in the confessional, sucking his thumb out of fear.
  • Evil Gloating: He often boasts about his evil accomplishments. However his gloating often spells trouble for him.
  • Evil Is Hammy: His brand of villainy is certainly not subtle.
  • Evil Is Petty: A lot of his evil schemes are rather childish, such as in "I Love You, Grease Pig", he takes great enjoyment in flinging grease onto Dave.
  • Eviler than Thou: Or so he thinks.
    • He comes to realize this couldn't be less true, once Scarlett reveals herself.
  • Expy:
  • Fan Disservice: His pants drop in front of Scarlett.
  • For the Evulz: Is evil just for the sake of it.
  • Friendless Background: Acting like a super-villain certainly doesn't win friends over.
  • Friend to All Children: He babysits and is extremely sweet to the babies in "Three Zones and a Baby".
  • Fun Size: He is the shortest contestant of the third generation, and the shortest male overall, with the possible exception of Cameron.
  • Genius Ditz: While he does have some legitimate moments of intelligence (most of the things he invented worked, for one thing, even if they would go awry), his complete lack of common sense and foresight lead to it being heavily hidden.
  • Gonk: The writers have outdone themselves to make him as ugly as possible: An oversized head, grey skin, purple hair, a pig nose, and multiple chins.
  • Harmless Villain: Tries hard to be evil, but fails epically at it. Though there are moments where he is genuinely good at being bad (even if most of them are Scarlett's ideas).
    • Lampshaded by Shawn in "Twinning Isn't Everything", where he praises Max's strategy in popping the opposing team's balloons, but reasons he isn't clever enough to have thought of it (and he's right to think that).
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: At Scarlett's elimination, Max gloats about how he is now the only villain remaining, which causes him to get eliminated alongside her.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: According to his audition tape, part of the reason he signed up for Total Drama was so that he could meet people.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: Pahkitew Island's designated pain magnet.
  • Kick the Dog: He electrocutes sweet, innocent Ella using an electric eel and enjoys it. Even if it was Scarlett's idea.
  • Laughably Evil: He is one of the few villains whose sole purpose is for comic relief.
  • Lesser of Two Evils: Contrary to what he believes, he is most certainly not the Big Bad.
  • The Load: Played with, but usually played straight.
    • He is more concerned with causing evil than actually helping his team. Sometimes it helps his team (e.g., popping Sky's balloon with a blow dart, electrocuting Ella); other times, it doesn't (e.g. capturing his own team in a snare net).
    • Scarlett definitely views him as such, especially after he threw away her remote control device for the island's central computer system in "This is the Pits".
    • In "Scarlett Fever", his plan for stopping Scarlett was for someone else to come up with a plan.
  • The Not-Love Interest: He and Scarlett rarely have significant interaction with anyone but each other. A few characters seem to interpret them as a couple, and Max seems to think Scarlett could be attracted to him, but they firmly remain platonic friends/enemies.
  • Obviously Evil: Parodied. He might talk the talk, but he can't walk the walk.
  • Only Friend: Scarlett. Or so he believes.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: He doesn't realize that Scarlett was being sarcastic about his evil genius until she reveals her true self.
  • Simpleton Voice: Played with. He believes that he is an Evil Genius, although he's shown to not be very bright.
  • Skewed Priorities: He more interested in causing evil than he is helping his team.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: As far as his super-villainy is concerned.
  • Smart People Build Robots: He made one in the opening. Though it should be emphasized, he only thinks he's smart, and the quality of his robot reflects this statement.
  • Smug Snake: He is overconfident in his villainy skills, and it eventually leads to his demise.
  • Supervillain Lair:
    • In his Audition Video, what Max did to his bedroom, sure doesn't look child friendly.
    • In "So, This Is My Team?", he also scopes out a cave (which would later be used by Team Maskwak) to use a secret lair; however he changes his mind after encountering bats.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute:
  • Take Over the World: What he aspires to do.
  • Too Dumb to Live:
    • He makes the mistake of insulting Jasmine, someone more than twice his size.
    • He gloats about having captured his own team in his own trap, with him in it no less.
    • He re-enters a wrong combination on a locked door after Chris told him that the door would shock him for inputting a wrong combination. Scarlett allows him to keep entering combinations, deducing that he will either eventually enter the correct combination or the lock system will eventually short out after administering too many shocks.
Max: Let's try "1-2-3" again. (the door shocks him, again)
Scarlett: Keep going. I just know you'll get it.
    • After Scarlett is eliminated, he gloats about being the only villain left on the island. Chris eliminates him on the spot, having enough "evil" for one season.
  • Villainous Friendship: With Scarlett. Type IV with Shades of Type I later on.
  • Villains Out Shopping: He hasn't had time to carry out his plans of global domination because he's busy with french horn lessons and baby sitting.
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: "Evil vomits!"
  • Wedgie: Falls victim to the Hanging Wedgie in "Mo Monkey Mo Problems", courtesy of Jasmine.
Max: (as he hangs from a tree) Evil will not be slowed by a mere wedgie! (the elastic gives and Max falls to the ground)
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He abandons a prospective cave lair when it had bats.

    The Rebel Outcasts

General

  • Attention Whore: The Rebel Outcasts don't really want to rule the world, they just want to become a famous band and be adored by using dark magic and their music.
  • The Corrupter: Using dark magic to make everyone argue and the Dazzlings magic ten times stronger, they try to do this on the Heart of Music, who unlike everyone, never argued or fight due to SG's conditions, hating to see everyone hate each other, and were more focused on the mission and helping Sunset Shimmer.
  • The Dividual: Even after Rainbow Rocks, they are always together... unless Apollo's with Gard.
  • Emerging from the Shadows: Did this briefly after the Dazzlings and before Logan and his friends came out.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: When SG fainted during their semi-finals performance, Apollo and the twins gasped in horror despite used to be rival bands even Sonata was surprised.
  • Evil Counterpart: Before their Heel–Face Turn., they were to the Heart of Music. While the Heart of Music would never given into arguing due to how serious the mission was to them, Apollo and the twins' try to get them to argue. Also Gard, after becoming his old but new self, was guilty of his actions, Apollo was still resentful and refuses to listen to his apology.
  • The Exile: Like the Dazzlings and Logan and his friends, they were banished to the human world when they plan to betray the Grand Duke of Owls.
  • Expy: They were like the Stingers to the Heart of Music's Jem and the Holograms and the Dazzlings to the Misfits.
  • Face–Heel Turn: They were once Gard's friends, Apollo was Gard's best friend mostly, but after an incident with the bullies, Gard moving, and Gard said something that upset Apollo, Apollo vowed revenge on him and turned to the dark side.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Before Erin's Total Magical Realm, they used to be evil and a rival band to the Heart of Music in a Rainbow Rocks side story. But after being betrayed and thanks to Gard, Apollo and the twins reformed to help them stop the Dazzlings. After that they return home to be reunited with their families and compete in Erin's Total Magical Realms to start over.
  • Hypocrite: Mostly with Apollo, he was "betrayed" when Gard changed and did not want friends but he was okay with betraying the Grand Duke of Owls after he taught him and the twins dark magic.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Apollo's named after a Greek god who involves music while Serenata, and Pasticcio are named musical styling. Serenata is a performance in someone's honor and means calm, light music. Pasticcio's when musical work is composed of different composers who may or may not have been working together, hence why Pasticco did not like the idea of being sidekick or back-up singer to Apollo but did it begrudgingly.
    • Also their band name the Rebel Outcasts matches them being rebelious looking and banished to the human world.
  • Mind-Control Music: Using dark magic, before their reformation, they help the Dazzlings get everyone to feud more and make the Dazzlings magic ten times stronger.
  • New Transfer Student: Just like the Dazzlings, they posed as new students.
  • Slasher Smile: Apollo seem to do it while confronting the Element Wielders to get them to argue.
  • Theme Naming: All are named after musical styles and a Greek God.
  • Xanatos Speed Chess: They didn't had a plan when they arrive but after knowing there was a musical showcase and realizing the Dazzlings want to turn a musical showcase into a battle of the bands, this was a chance to make them famous band.

Apollo

Voiced by: Kevin Miller (normal voice), Drew Seeley (singing voice)

  • Anti-Hero: Despite he's reformed, he's kinda like Duncan, loves being bad.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Anything about Gard (formerly)
    • Saying his music's awful or their music's better then his
    • Don't think about picking on or harming the twins
    • And don't talk about his sister behind his back.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones:
    • He cares for Pasticcio and Serenata even though he considers them sidekicks and back-up singers.
    • He misses his sister, Arista, after being banished by the Grand Duke of Owls. He even developes a crush on Aria Blaze due to being similiar to his sister.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • When questioning about J.Z.'s rivalry with Gard over Sylvia, he said that jealousy and yandere is the lowest form of evil.
    • Despite he's angry at Gard for betraying him, he asked how Jamille was since he knew her and that she was sick.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good:
    • He doesn't understand why Gard feel in love with Sylvia.
    • He doesn't get why the Element Wielders won't argue or fall apart like anyone else did.
  • The Exile: He and the twins were banished to the human world by the Grand Duke of Owls when they planned on betraying him
  • Expy: He is a male version of Sunset Shimmer and Trixie to Gard's Twilight Sparkle. He's also similiar to J.Z., a rival to Gard.
  • Villainous Crush: On Aria Blaze... until she betrayed and badmouthed him.

Serenata

  • Affably Evil: Just like Sonata in a way. She's sweet, naïve, and energetic but she's still mischievous and malicious.
  • The Exile: She, along with Apollo and her sister, were banished to the human world by the Grand Duke of Owls when they planned on betraying him.
  • Expy: Her hair and make-up is similar to Raptor of the Stingers. She's also like Sonata Dusk.
  • Foil: While she's sweet, naive, energetic, and peppy, her twin sister's tough, hardcore, and sarcastic.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: Serenata's Energetic Girl to Apollo's Savvy Guy
  • Sweet Tooth: She likes fruit punch and candy.

Pasticcio

  • The Exile: She, along with Apollo and her sister, were banished to the human world by the Grand Duke of Owls when they planned on betraying him.
  • Expy: Her hair and make-up is similar to Raptor of the Stingers. She's also like Aria Blaze only not abrasive as her.
  • Foil: She's a tough, hardcore, and sarcastic tomboy who compared to Serenata's sweet, naive, energetic, and peppy girly girl.

    Sugar

"Nobody but me is winning this here pageant!"

Voiced by: Rochelle Wilson

Teams: Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears)

  • Animals Hate Her: The theme song has her being attacked by animals after she pushes Ella off the cliff.
  • Arch-Enemy: Ella pre-merge and Sky post-merge.
    • Sugar's hatred toward Ella possibly stems from her beauty pageant days, seeing the prettiest girl as competition.
    • Sky wants to win fair and square while Sugar is not above cheating and manipulation.
  • Attention Whore: Justified, given that she is a beauty pageant contestant.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Ella.
    • Scuffing her pageant shoes.
    • Anyone else using "pageant talk".
  • Big Bad: While acting already as a villain in the previous episodes, she officially takes up the mantle of Big Bad after Scarlett and Max are eliminated, only to be eliminated herself right before the final episode which was only an episode later after the latter two left.
  • The Big Girl: Of Team Maskwak.
  • Big Eater: If there's something, anything that so much as looks edible to her, it goes right down the hatch. Her appetite could even rival that of Owen's. In "Mo Monkey, Mo Problems", she is seen licking the glass on the vending machine.
Sugar: I could eat the legs off a table...and we ain't even got one.
  • Bitch Alert: Ignoring her audition video, Sugar's Establishing Character Moment has her pinning Topher against the wall, threatening to kill him for scuffing her pageant shoes.
  • Book Dumb:
    • In "Mo Monkey Mo Problems" She lists off three qualities, then she says she possesses "both".
    • In "This Is The Pits!", she apparently thinks buses make train sounds.
    • In "Pahk'd With Talent" She also climbs to the very top of a tree (when the challenge is to maneuver across trees) as she believes there might be a bridge or a bus stop up there.
  • Cannot Tell Fiction from Reality: She thinks Leonard is a real wizard, and Max is actually an Evil Genius.
  • Cruella to Animals: As evidenced in "Mo Monkey, Mo Problems".
  • Deep South: She has a particularly strong accent that belongs more in Alabama than Alberta and has a lot of the tendencies associated with the trope in fiction.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: Like Scarlett, she too is eliminated before the finale.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: In "So, Uh, This is My Team?", she threatens to throw Topher out of the zeppelin at 30,000+ feet if he scuffed her pageant shoes.
  • Distaff Counterpart: She seems like a mean female version of Owen.
  • The Ditz: She reasons that Leonard is smart, simply because she can't understand half of what he says.
  • Dumb Blonde: Downplayed. While she is certainly Book Dumb, she's Street Smart and knows how to play with emotions.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: The reason she hates Ella so much is because she thinks Ella's sweet personality is a facade like her's.
Sugar: THAT'S PAGEANT TALK! MY TALK!
  • Evil Laugh: A particularly odd example, as it sounds exactly the same when she finds something funny.
  • Expy:
  • Extreme Omnivore: As stated above, she'll eat anything that remotely looks like food. The list includes: a live tarantula note , a glowing slug note , a rotten egg note , some kind of canned meat and mayonnaise mixture which expired in 1976 note , and some eggs in a bird's nest note . In Sugar's own words:
Sugar: Mama says I got the stomach of a raccoon. Prob'ly from eatin' all that raccoon. Guess you are what you eat!
  • Fat Bitch: She is a fat Jerkass.
  • Face–Heel Turn: In Magic Melodies she and Amy return to being bad thanks to Jericho.
  • Gambit Roulette: Just like with Mal, most of her successes were due to dumb luck/the incompetence of others, rather than actual strategy or skill. A notable example is in "Hurl and Go Seek" where she nudges Dave's Sanity Slippage in a direction that he likely would've gone in on his own even if she wasn't there to do it. One could also argue that most of the events she caused likely still would've happened even if she wasn't there to trigger them.
  • Gasshole: She farts after falling on her face in the commercial for Darwin's Food Safari, which also happens to be part of her audition tape. She also belches a lot, typically after eating, and when Sky reveals that her talent for the talent show is belching, Sugar scoffs "Belching ain't a talent, it's a way of life!"
    • Fartillery: She knocked out Chris, Sky, and a whole cave full of bears with one of her farts. Owen would be proud.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: When the sweet facade drops, she's shown to be very quick to anger. Especially if it has anything to do with Ella.
  • Hate Sink: Being a jerkish, dumb and disgusting girl, it's no surprise that no one likes her.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Thanks to Leviticus in Bitter to Batter.
  • Hidden Depths: She's planning on using the million dollars for her college funds. Plus, lack of regular knowledge and difficulty telling apart fiction and reality aside, her cutthroat competitive skills and ability to exploit people's mental/emotional weak spots get her extremely far. If one only saw her audition tape, they'd think she was a harmless country idiot.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: Sugar's naive stupidity finally gets her good when her own made-up challenge ended up costing her her chance to go to the finale.
  • Hypocritical Humor: She detested Ella's singing, yet she gleefully sings commercial jingles that sound far worse than any of Ella's songs.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: In "Mo Monkey Mo Problems", she managed to throw a coin into the slot of a vending machine that was a few hundred feet away.
  • Ironic Name: Sugar is anything but sweet.
  • Jerkass: Especially towards Ella.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: In "Scarlett Fever", after Shawn demolishes Chris' "promo-bots", Chris berates the group for destroying his "clones". Sugar retorts by saying that Chris should have been down in the island's control center disarming the self destruct instead of sending the campers and trying to escape the situation in his helicopter.
  • Karma Houdini: To the point where she gives Duncan a run for his money. Aside from her elimination she did not receive any particular punishment for her actions. Unless you count her losing in a talent show, which is supposed to be her thing.
  • Kick the Dog: She is especially cruel towards animals (and Ella).
    • In "Three Zones And A Baby" she could've sneaked past a rattlesnake sleeping on top of a sleeping lion, but instead she punches the snake which leads it to bite the lion, which then eats the snake.
Shawn: Yeah, you scare me quite a bit for a living person.
    • However, she treats a greased pig quite well, even baby talking to it.
  • Laughably Evil: She's like a Evil Counterpart of Owen, after all.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: The dark to Ella and Sky's light.
  • The Load: She has done a fair few things that weigh her team down, such as: forcing Dave to pick Leonard for the final leg of the race (despite him being completely useless) in "I Love You, Grease Pig", her repetitive attempts to get Ella eliminated even at the cost of a win, eating the banana the team needed for the monkey in "Mo Monkey Mo Problems", and slowing Sky down in "Sky Fall" (however, the last instance was done intentionally in an attempt to eliminate Sky).
    • This is even lampshaded by Sky in "This is the Pits!" when she suspects Sugar of eating one of the crystals even though the true culprit was Shawn.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Sugar knows how to play with people's emotions.
  • Morality Pet: Leonard appears to be this for her. Even, her last words before being blasted off the island were about seeing him again.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown:
    • She tried to put one down on Ella in "I Love You, I Love You Knots" but was restrained by Dave and Shawn.
    • In "Scarlett Fever", she beats down Scarlett after the latter attempted to blow up the island.
  • Only Friend: Leonard (by the end of the season), though she also appears to respect Max.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: She has done the occasional "good deed" now and then, but it's never out of the kindness of her heart.
  • Psychopathic Woman Child: Childish? Yes. Woman? Yes. Psychopathic? She cares only about winning and doesn't care who gets hurt—or whom she has to hurt—in the process.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Early on, she wants her team to lose simply to get rid of Ella.
Sugar: (as everyone else on Team Maskwak cheers for Ella) Shock her, Rodney! Shock her!
Dave: If Rodney wins, we all get shocked.
    Sugar: It'd be worth it.
  • Sadist: She laughs every time Ella gets hurt and calls Ella nearly getting hurt twice her best day ever. She also enjoys others pain too. Not as much, but she still enjoys it.
  • Serious Business: Her pageants.
  • Simpleton Voice: Downplayed. See Dumb Blonde and Hidden Depths above.
  • Slasher Smile: After she takes up the mantle of Big Bad.
  • Shipper on Deck: For Scarlett and Max. She even cries when they're put on different teams.
Sugar: Their love was so beautiful!
  • Ship Tease: With Leonard. She even calls out to him as she's eliminated.
  • Shrunken Organ: Her skull is apparently so abnormally thick it has squeezed her brain partly into her neck, presumably accounting for her less than stellar intellect.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: As a beauty pageant queen, she certainly has an overinflated opinion of herself.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: She has made more enemies than any other contestant in the season, and is the most focused on antagonist this time round. As well as frequently stealing the show with gross-out gags in a manner similar to Owen.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: She is physically a Distaff Counterpart to Owen, but personality wise she's more like his Evil Counterpart.
  • Third-Person Person: Sometimes uses this for emphasis.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Not counting Max who changed over to the team for one episode, and Dave's one episode of villainy in the finale, she is the only antagonistic member of the Team Maskwak.
  • Too Dumb to Live: In "This Is The Pits!" as the cavern begins to collapse, Sugar screams at the top of her voice "It's a cave in!", thereby causing an actual cave in.
  • Your Makeup Is Running: Happens quite frequently, but it's particularly creepy in "Hurl and Go Seek!", where it adds to her zombie complexion.
