House Targaryen

    Alyssa Targaryen

Dowager Queen Alyssa Targaryen

  • Dirty Old Woman: Her love of "riding" carried on into old age, where it became a favoured topic of hers.
  • Mama Bear: She does not hesitate to defend her gooddaughter from assassins, managing to subdue one for a time.
  • Shipper on Deck: She would continue to nudge Valena closer to Aegon, much to her daughter's embarrassment.
  • Silver Vixen: Her appearance was remarked upon favourably as she passed fifty years old. Especially impressive, given how plain and ungainly she was in her youth.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Unlike in Fire & Blood, she survived childbirth, outliving her husband and her father to become dowager queen.

  • Adipose Rex: His portrait and his agnomens follow this trope, as per canon.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: As jovial and eager to please as he can be, his fury can still cow even Maegon when pushed, especially where Alicent is concerned.
  • Big Fun: Fond of throwing banquets and feasts at every given opportunity.
  • Due to the Dead: He gives the eulogy to Alicent's funeral.
"Alicent was too young, too kind. She showed kindness to my grandfather in his last days, bless may she be. As my wife, she showered me with love and support when I needed it the most. As your Queen, she showed dignity and goodwill toward the bannermen of the Seven Kingdoms. I… I miss her… I wish she was here with us… But she’s not, and today we… We…"
  • Happily Married: To Alicent; Viserys would allow no word to be said against her, and she declared him perfect as he was.
