- Parental Abandonment: Raised by Grams, and early on she never mentioned her parents. Once Grams is gone, she claims to be "all alone", and laments the fact that no one will watch over her. It was implied that Yulgar is her father during a Fire War cutscene when Aria stows away to Battleon, though even so it seems Yulgar has little time to spare due to work.

- Black Market: Runs this.
- Eye-Obscuring Hat: A brimmed fedora.

The Mad Weaponsmith of Falconreach (and Warlic's roommate). He is pretty much Fun Personified, and whenever he shows up you know things are about to get Denser and Wackier, and above all, silly. His store (Cysero's Superstore of Savings) sells items that can only be bought with Dragon Coins.- The Ageless: During the Yulgar's First Date quest, it's shown he hasn't aged over the course of 20 years.

- Cloudcuckoolander: One of the craziest characters in the game, only topped by Xan.

- Foil:
- To Warlic, who plays the Straight Man to Cysero's Cloudcuckoolander and serves as his Cloudcuckoolander's Minder of sorts.

- Sitcom Archnemesis: To Lim.
- Super-Speed: When you visit his store, you will run into him in different parts of the store. To which he will tell you he isn't "a clone, robot or illusion, I'm just Cysero and I'm faster than you are."
- Teleporters and Transporters: Like many characters he can teleport at will. Best example is during the Fire War, where he suddenly appears as soon as his name is mentioned. He also brings Warlic over without his consent.
- You Didn't Ask: He says this in one of the Frostvals when the Hero asks why he didn't say he could turn everyone back from coal. Later on, when The Hero gets upset about him conveniently forgetting to mention the existence of the Bacon Orb in the Final 13th Saga.

- I Was Quite a Looker: and how◊

- Never Mess with Granny: In spite of her feeble appearance, she hilariously gives the hero a thorough physical beatdown in a couple quests. Though in a spot of Fridge Brilliance, it turns out that wasn't Grams at all, but a much younger impersonator disguising herself with an illusion.
- Uncertain Doom: She is last seen getting blasted by Sepulchure while the fortress they stand in crash lands into the ground, but her fate is not explicitly confirmed. Regardless, the Hero believes her deceased.
Lim
The self-proclaimed "foremost Weapon Artisian in the land", whose shop replaces Yulgar's after Yulgar moves to Battleon. He believes that science is superior to magic and has little patience for Cysero's antics.- Author Avatar: Of the real life Lim who is a Game Designer.

- One Judge to Rule Them All: During Falconreach Idle, the judges give a low score to Aria's act and a perfect score to The Hero's act. The last contestant is a moglin with a gift for engineering. The moglin's project explodes, causing the judges to give the moglin a zero for its recklessness. But Lim, who is the host and set up the competition to choose his assistant, gives the moglin victory, making the entire panel of judges just for show.

- The Antichrist: His endgame is to bring about the end of the world and rid it of the "light pollution" that infected the perfect darkness that came before.
- Artifact of Doom: The Doom Weapons he sells are cursed Evil Weapons that spell out the doom of their masters.
- Badass Boast: He gives plenty of these after his true colors are revealed. But his most impressive one would be during the Final Battle against him.Mysterious Stranger: You cannot defeat me. The darkness surrounds me, foolish mortal. It makes me stronger! Stronger then you can comprehend! I have eaten the sun and continue to grow! You remain nothing. Nothing but a plaything for me! Soon I will even block out the stars. Darkness devours all. My power surpasses that of Voidstar! Not even the avatars could stop me!

- The Corrupter: He lures heroes over to the darkness with the promise of power, by giving them a Doom Weapon. In AdventureQuest Worlds it's revealed he also did this to Sepulchure, giving him power through the DoomKnight armor, in exchange for servitude.
- Cosmic Entity: After becoming the Super Mega Ultra Darkness Dracolich when it reaches planetary size. It manages to swallow the sun.

"The Final 13th" Saga has him finally step out of the shadows and takes the spot of Big Bad.
- Humanoid Abomination: He has a vaguely humanoid form, but that's about as close as it gets. He is revealed to be a spirit of pure darkness underneath his hood and otherwise may not have a face or any other discerning human features.
- In the Hood: Always shrouded in a cloak with his face obscured by shadow, and then it's implied he might not even have a face.
- Killed Off for Real: After his defeat at the hands of the Hero, the Hero's dragon, and Fluffy, it appears he is gone for good.
- Knight of Cerebus: While there have been a fair few villains as evil as he is, none have amped the stakes up as high as he has. Him taking over from Sepulchure completely changes the game and turns the tables firmly against the Hero's favor.
- Living Shadow: This is essentially what he is, being a creature of pure elemental darkness.
- The Man Behind the Man: The true mastermind of the Orb Saga and the one who had been pulling Sepulchure's strings.
- Mysterious Stranger: Literally what's he's referred to as. His true name is unknown, if he even has one at all. His entire gimmick is that we know nothing about him.
- The Nameless: His real name is never revealed, with the implication being he doesn't have one. When asked who he is, his answer is "I am no one".
- Nothing Is Scarier: Absolutely nothing is revealed about him prior to the Orb Saga finale, and that just makes him even more scarier.
- Omnicidal Maniac: Its end game was to plunge the world into darkness and restore the universe to the lifeless state it once was.
- Orcus on His Throne:Mysterious Stranger is revealed to be Sepulchure's secret master, but for the majority of Book 1 he remains as a passive observer watching from the sideline. It isn't until the Orb Saga finale, "The Final 13th" where he steps forward to fill the spot of Big Bad and Final Boss.
- Pure Is Not Good: He refers to himself as "a creature of pure darkness".
- Time Abyss: He existed during the era of eternal darkness before the other elements took hold.
- Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: While Book 1 did have a few serious villains, it was overall fairly lighthearted. This guy amps up the stakes to the highest they have ever been in the entire game.
- Walking Spoiler: If you haven't played through Book 1, he has a lot of spoiler tags that shouldn't be clicked.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Pulls this on Sepulchure after revealing him to be an Unwitting Pawn.

- Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Subverted when she does reappear much, much later on and has a big impact on the plot.
- The Mole
- You Have Failed Me: Subverted in that Sepulchure doesn't kill her, but she is implied to suffer a Fate Worse than Death.Sepulchure: You have failed me for the last time and for that, I'll be sending you back into the Darkness Realm... in the most painful way possible.

- Trademark Favorite Food: Cheese, cheese, and more cheese.
Serenity/Dyana Valtrith
The third owner of the Falconreach Inn. She was killed by Baron Valtrith in the 2015 Friday the 13th war event "Serenity Before the Storm". But then it's revealed her spirit wasn't destroyed after all and comes back.- Actual Pacifist: Serenity hates fighting, and is a very peaceful person.

- Disappears into Light: Her soul is released upon the destruction of her brother's mask. She gives the Hero a final farewell before departing.

- Evil Knockoff: Caitiff creates one of Serenity in the "Black Winter" War, appearing as a shadow Serenity Mirage. It's obvious she's there to torment the Hero at failing to save her, weeping whenever the Hero attacks and uttering phrases like "I trusted you...", "Why didn't you save me?", "Please! Stop hurting me!", "Stop it!!!", reminding the Hero of his/her greatest failure.
- Fate Worse than Death: Baron Valtrith says there is nothing left of her to save. He was either lying or he was wrong, as her spirit comes back.
- Ghost Reunion Ending: Serenity's soul reunited with the Hero one last time after being freed from Jaysun's mask, where she finally gets the chance to thank the Hero and bids them a final farewell.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She's blonde and is one of, if not the most, kindhearted character in the game.
- Hope Bringer: She serves as one to the Hero giving him/her a motivational speech after she briefly returns as a spirit, and inspires the Hero to continue his/her heroics no matter how hard the times seemed.
- Incorruptible Pure Pureness: According to Geopetal, Serenity is among the most incorruptible characters of Dragonfable. The action of destroying her soul allows Baron Valtrith to create an artifact of evil.
- Killed Off for Real: Baron Valtrith extracts her soul and uses it to empower himself. It was originally believed she was Deader than Dead and her very soul was consumed, but it's revealed her soul was trapped in the Baron's mask and she gets released to move onto the afterlife.

- This gets subverted in Frostval 2015, "Twigsmas", where he becomes jealous of Chilly having a giant friend. As a result he creates his own giant friend called Fishmaster Icecweam, who the Hero is forced to destroy. Needless to say this devastates him and he lets the water works run.

- Came Back Wrong: During the 2014 Christmas event, Artix fuses creatures in DragonFable with their counterparts in several nearby Alternate Universes. Since the AdventureQuest Worlds version of Lady Celestia survived the Ultimate Orb crisis, but the DragonFable one didn't, she ends up a little less than healthy and is constantly shivering with coldness.
