Majin Buu

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: In the original Dragon Ball anime/manga even the fat-childlike Buu had moments of disturbing rage and alarming Hidden Depths that made him a legitimately threatening presence. This version has yet to display such attitudes.
  • Affably Evil: As usual, Fat Buu is well-natured and nice despite being a villain.
  • Anti-Villain: As ever, he seems to have no real inclination towards evil, and has to be actively goaded into fighting.
  • Big Fun: A villainous version, though again for a lax definition of villainous. He is jolly and mostly interested in sharing a funny fight with his opponents.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Deals one to Bujin, but gets a much nastier one from Mystic Gohan, who swats him away with a contemptuous Offhand Backhand.
  • Dumbass No More: Played with a bit. The night before the third round begins, Zen Buu sneaks into the room he is staying in, and to prepare him for the next round he properly explains the rules of the tournament to him to stop him from doing something stupid. Then when he fights Ubb in the next round, Ubb's attempt to trick him into getting disqualified by being out of view for 30 seconds fails because Buu remembers the rules.
  • Forced Transformation: He would not be Buu without his Signature Move. Uub uses it on him to turn him into a watermelon, but he goes around it by hiding mini clones of himself.
  • Graceful Loser: Majin Buu shrugs off being defeated by Uub and says the fight was fun anyway.
  • Healing Hands: Majin Buu can heal people as in canon. Babidi tries to use this to get Uub to owe him.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: Extremely powerful, but he also wields equally extreme magic.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After Zen Buu teaches him a few tricks about how to use his powers.
  • Villainous Friendship: He quickly forms this relationship with Zen Buu. With Dabura too as he called him his friend on page 1836 when Southern Supreme Kai had the demon king by the throat.
    Dabura

Dabura

  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Cell handily defeats him, but Dabura still gives him a bit of a challenge. Though only because Cell was maintaining his Cell Games level, otherwise he would have ended it in one blow.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Courtesy of Cell.
  • No Sympathy: Dabura lies bleeding on the ground for hours until he cons Buu into healing him.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Following the failure of the Majin Rebellion, Dabura is sent back to his home universe and the Majin Spell's influence on him is also undone, leaving him free to take revenge on Babidi for the years of forced servitude he was put under by the wizard.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Following some humiliating moments in the tournament (Like the No Sympathy moment mentioned above), Dabura eventually has a fairly surprising Happy Ending and manages to reclaim his demonic throne while killing his former boss and earning Buu's friendship.
  • Villain Forgot to Level Grind: Like a number of characters; it's explicitly acknowledged that he's not the sort of person to train, and he didn't have anyone to challenge him in his universe.
  • Villainous Friendship: Develops one with Buu and is called a friend by the Majin on page 1836. After turning Babidi to stone he takes Buu back to the demon realm with him and gives him Cerberus as a pet.
    Babidi

Babidi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/u11_babidi.png
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Compared to his canon self, this Babidi is far more cunning and demonstrates more foresight.
  • Arc Villain: Becomes the Big Bad of the Majin Rebellion arc.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Despite his planning for The Majin Rebellion the only reason he's a threat is due to his more powerful and not necessarily loyal minions and the fact that Zen Buu finds it amusing.
  • Bad Boss: He leaves Dabura suffering from a borderline mortal wound as punishment for losing to Cell, keeps Majin Buu in line with constant threats of sealing him away and insults Majin Bra for leaving him in deep space, though the last is somewhat warranted since he’s running out of air.
  • Dumbass No More: Babidi himself seems to be vastly more competent than his canon counterpart. Not only has he managed to maintain control (albeit not complete) of Majin Buu, he actually plans out his revenge when Buu loses to Uub. Deciding to use the Majin Spell on some of the contestants, as well as the crowd and even some of the Vargas. He purposefully avoids trying to use it on any of the different Vegetas (including Vegito), since he knows that Vegeta will defy him.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He's as much of a slimy, manipulative worm as his U18 self, however he is relatively calm and good at sweet-talking others.
  • Loves the Sound of Screaming: When Hatchiyack starts screaming, everyone is horrified and pained by it. Babidi's response?
Babidi: (smiles) Hmm... What a lovely ring in my ears...
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: When compared to the likes of Cell, Zen Buu and the mysterious XXI, Babidi seems pretty harmless. Yet he ultimately proves himself to be far more dangerous than his canon counterpart.
  • Sore Loser: Babidi has something of a meltdown when Buu loses to Uub and promptly decides to try and take over the multiverse.
  • Suicidal Overconfidence: Per Word of God from Salagir, Babidi really thinks that teleporting the likes of Zen Buu, Vegito and Gast to a planet with poisonous atmosphere is enough to deal with them for good.
  • Taken for Granite: His final fate, courtesy of a vengeful and freed Dabura.
