This page covers tropes related to the Dokis' Looping selves. For tropes about their Baseline selves, see here.

    The Dokis in General
  • Artificial Intelligence: Technically speaking, since they're visual novel characters who attained sentience through various means. It doesn't come up too often, but the girls do identify themselves as AI.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Natsuki and Yuri are constantly fighting, arguing, and throwing verbal barbs at each other. They're also possibly the two closest members of the club, especially after they hook up romantically.

    Monika
The Anchor of the DDLC Branch of Yggdrasil, and President of the titular club. An expert at coding, especially that of the digital reality the club resides in, adding many quality-of-life improvements - most notably making the Branch and its inhabitants so realistic and lifelike as to be nearly indistinguishable from any flesh-and-blood Branch.

  • The Atoner: In Baseline, Monika murdered and deleted her club members in an attempt to reach out beyond the fourth wall, only to then be deleted by the player; she restored the game in hopes of letting the group be happy without her, then deleted the game entirely once Sayori began showing similar traits as President. In the Loops, Monika's primary motivation is to atone for her misdeeds; deconstructed, in that she continues to go this route long after the rest of the club has forgiven her, and it takes a toll on her mental health.
  • I Hate Past Me: Subverted in Chapter 23.7, in which Monika decides to try and make sure her past self doesn't go crazy due to her newfound metaknowledge. This ends with the two hugging it out when Past!Monika admits that she's scared.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Monika only gets drunk after a very stressful situation has concluded... or is around Michael J. Caboose.
  • Other Me Annoys Me: Just Monika and Monika centers around a corrupted version of Monika causing a variation of a Hate Plague thanks to William Shakespeare creating her out of inspiration, and Monika's subsequent summoning to fix that mess against her will. Needless to say, she is unsurprisingly enthusiastic to get a chance at killing her worst traits given form and amplified.
  • Spit Take: Does a several minute long one after finding out about the new details of their Loop from Psyche, namely, the Dokis are now on a virtual machine dedicated to running their game/
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: A Loop involving zombies caused her to have a fear of zombies, which causes problems during Chapter 27 (a Fused Loop with Zombie Land Saga).

    Sayori
Vice President of the Literature Club. A bundle of sunshine who loves nothing more than to see her friends happy. Not-so-secretly depressed. Also a Sith Lord under the name Darth Somnus.

  • Dark Is Not Evil: Sayori may be a Sith Lord, but she's still by far the nicest, friendliest member of the Literature Club and the group's heart.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: During a Fused Loop with Fire Emblem: Three Houses, she asks Byleth if being ambushed with a dagger is some kind of surprise training (Sayori's replacing Marianne von Edmund, who's a lot more gloomy and with the Those that Slither About, Byleth was suspicious).
  • Stepford Smiler: While she's mentally much better off than in Baseline, Sayori still suffers from depression (characterized by her as a raincloud, as she did in Baseline). Indeed, when the Dokis first Looped into Equestria, her Cutie Mark was a raincloud and sun.

    Yuri
  • Affectionate Nickname: One loop has her referring to Natsuki as 'Cupcake', before explaining that her "WILL YOU SHUT UP ALREADY?!" is due to Yuri having psychosis and a teal-haired girl exists in Yuri's head as a hallucination.
  • Blade Enthusiast: As in Baseline, Yuri collects knives. Unlike in Baseline, she also makes her own - and usually fights with a knife when she's not using a sword.
  • Characterization Marches On: Chapter 2.2 sees her developing a crush on Simon Blackwell. This was dropped and never brought up again.
  • Hands Go Down: Does this in 36.2 when Monika says that knives can't be part of teaching each other some of their favorite hobbies.
  • Hidden Depths: Her hobby-sharing loop is inspired by a painting from the Hub called the Land of Lotus and Crystals and as such the room is really beautiful.
  • Lesbian Vampire: She's a Hellsing vampire and in a relationship with Natsuki.
  • Official Couple: With Natsuki.
  • Running Gag: Pulling out a cardboard knife in some fashion.
  • Sense Freak
  • Too Kinky to Torture: Loves being injured in various new and strange ways, much to Natsuki's consternation.

    Natsuki
The club's head chef and resident tsundere, with a penchant for snark. Also hit often by Pun Loops, usually (but not always) to her dismay.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Refers to Yuri as Yuyu.
  • Blowing a Raspberry: Does this in Chapter 36.5 when Yuri asks if Natsuki's still salty over Waspinator referring to her as "No Mammaries".
  • The Gadfly: Often the quickest to bring up Monika's misdeeds from Baseline. It's eventually revealed that this is at Monika's request in order to keep the latter humble, and the Trope Namer is brought up in comparison.
  • Hot-Blooded: Influenced by various manga she's read, Natsuki is passionate about everything she does, from baking to brawling.
  • Large Ham: Can be this at times, such as when she was Batsuki or a Loop where she had sole control of the game's code.
  • Official Couple: With Yuri.
  • Oh, Crap!: During a Fused Loop with Mercy Thompson, first when Mercy points a spear at Natsuki after the latter accidentally knocked out Adam due to thinking he was abusive when he's actually really nice and then when Yuri appears, prompting Mercy to switch out her wand for a M-490 Blackstorm Singularity Projector.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Gains the ability to do this after multiple Pun Loops. She even does this in Chapter 31.10 when talking with Elodie and Briony after the latter got turned into Brie-ony cheese.

    Hiroaka
The sole male of the club and the game's main character, but a strange case in the Loops.

  • Blank Slate: Originally, but eventually Ganesha is able to change things to where he has different names, voices, and personalities with each Loop.
  • The Faceless: It's not uncommon for visual novels and dating sims to avoid showing the POV character's face, allowing the player to mentally insert themselves. It's not as typical for the POV character to literally have no face In-Universe as is the case with Hiroaka, who instead has an irregular white patch that grows and shrinks. (The rest of his appearance is consistent with the game's sole third-person image of him.) He's still able to talk despite this, though.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: As the Player Character, he can be named whatever the player wants. "Hiroaka" was eventually chosen by Monika, and it sticks until Ganesha's alterations.

    ???
A pale-skinned female with white hair and pupil-less eyes. An image of her is shown by Monika to the others during Chapter 13.10 due to its presence in Natsuki's character file, though nobody recognizes her.
