The Team

    In General
  • Badass Crew: Downplayed. They're not weak, but their success/failure record is rather spotty.
  • Break the Cutie: The Chaos Invasion shakes them up, with Miss Martian, who's forced to make her first kill, getting the worst of it.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: They consistently try to treat Krieg like a friend, brushing off his Jerkass behavior as comparable to a Tsundere or someone who just needs time to develop. It takes them over thirty chapters to finally get it into their heads that Krieg hates their guts and will never change his ways.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Their teamwork and discipline isn't all that great.
  • Skewed Priorities: From Krieg's point-of-view, they tend to sacrifice the mission in the name of petty acts of heroism.
    • The biggest example was when they all gathered around him to see if he was alright rather than pursue the Joker. Krieg angrily points out that only one or two of them needed to tend to him while the rest could have apprehended the Joker, who is now roaming free and no doubt venting his frustrations by causing more mayhem and destruction. Rather than make any coherent counter-argument or consider his point, they just bitch at him for having no sense of self-worth.
    • They travel to Los Angeles when it is under siege, not to aid in the defense (initially), but to bitch at Krieg for not "acting like a hero" (i.e., killing criminals on live TV and building an army to fight off the cultists). After Krieg sucker-punches Aqualad in the face and tells them point-blank that their moralizing is not a high priority, they just call him insane.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: Their official policy, much to Krieg's frustration. Even when they're stuck in an illusory world where everyone around them isn't real, they still cling to it.
    • Averted as of Chapter 47, in which the carnage of the Chaos invasion motivates them to (very) reluctantly drop all restraints.
  • True Companions: They are devoted to each other—except Krieg.
  • You're Insane!: They frequently tell Krieg this, not that he listens.
    Aqualad

The official leader of the Team. An Atlantean and the protégé of Aquaman, with aquakinetic and electrokinetic powers. Though he tries to act like a stoic leader, his constant horn-locking with Krieg quickly showcases his flaws.
  • Da Chief: Officially, he is the leader of the Team. Krieg often ends up taking the initiative, though.
  • Hypocrisy Nod: He's the first member of the Team to advocate killing the Cultists, after spending so much time opposing this measure. Zatanna calls him out on it, and Aqualad admits that war turns people into hypocrites.
  • Making a Splash: He can manipulate water.
  • Not So Above It All: A part of him is angry with Krieg for cutting off one of Sportsmaster's hands, but the other part wishes he'd severed them both.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He tries with all his might... and always fails miserably.
  • Shock and Awe: He can create and manipulate lightning.
    Robin

Batman's former sidekick, and the first member of the Team to actually meet Krieg, albeit in a less than pleasant way. A skilled acrobat whom, like his mentor, carries a large array of gadgets for usage in open combat and stealth.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Both of his fights with Krieg play out this way, with Robin getting in a couple of good hits before Krieg overpowers him. The first time, he's nearly strangled to death, but Batman intervenes; the second time, Krieg decides to use him as a living hostage after beating the tar out of him.
  • Fragile Speedster: He's not as fast as Kid Flash, obviously, but his fighting style focuses more on hitting his opponent multiple times and wearing them down while using his acrobat training to avoid getting hit. If he does get hit, he tends to go down quickly.
  • Karma Houdini: He never gets called out on the fact that he started a fight with Krieg.
  • Oh, Crap!: He can only quiver in terror when Krieg unknowingly exposes his lie about being given a mission by Batman.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Downplayed. He's not very tall, and while he's not weak, his attacks aren't very strong, either.
  • Weak, but Skilled: He's not completely weak, but he's no heavy-hitter.
    Kid Flash

    Superboy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yj_superboy.png
A clone of Superman created by Cadmus by order of the Light. The (not officially created) Team rescues him, and he joins them.
