Angelogia

A land where mortals and gods coexisted and still coexists peacefully, Angelogia arose at the dawn of the Third Age with the settling of its 'Overworld' by mortals, the establishment of its main pantheon in its 'Skyworld' and the banishment of the evils and monsters which once terrorised it to the 'Underworld'. While it has its ups-and-downs and faced its crises and threats throughout the Third and Fourth Age, Angelogia continues to persist and prosper thanks to the efforts of its benevolent overseeing goddess Pallasthea, the Lady of Light and her stalwart, brave and loyal angelic servant Captain Pit.

Skyworld

    General
  • Adaptation Expansion: Either this or Adaptational Backstory Change. The Angelogian Pantheon currently setting up shop in Skyworld is revealed to be related to the Tauren Giant Pantheon(s), more specifically related to the famous Earthen Triplets of Tellusia, Gaea and Cel.
  • Floating Continent: Like the Skylands of Avalar, the Skyworld of Angelogia is full of these, and are presently the domains and headquarters of the Angelogian Pantheon, or at least Pallasthea and her angels.

Angelogian Pantheon

    General
  • Beast Man: To many people's surprise, they are actually Orthoequids (Anthro-Ponies in essence), but hid this with shape-shifting much of the time outside Angelogia as they don't want to weird people out. With Orthoequids returning to prominence lately, they are becoming more comfortable showing their true forms as upright bipedal Alicorns with hands.
  • Our Giants Are Different: Due to being related to the famous Earthen Triplets and being former members of the Tauren Giant Pantheon(s), the Angelogian Pantheon are all Giant deities, or more specifically Giganticorns.

    Pallasthea, the Lady of Light

Classification: Ethereal/Elemental, Giant, Orthoequid

Portfolio: Light, Goodness, Celestials, Wisdom

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

"Let the purifying light of benevolence shine upon all corners of Angelogia!"

Pallasthea (her entry here) is the Ortho-Giganticorn goddess of Light, Goodness, Celestials and Wisdom, and is related to the famous Earthen Triplets.
  • The Ace: Is considered the single strongest and most capable deity in the entire Angelogian Pantheon, capable of stalemating all of them at once in a fair fight. She even managed to hold her own against an avatar of Excelsius, the Princeling of Pride, who is also considered The Ace among the Princelings of Vice and the second most powerful being in Malregnar after His mother in an undocumented confrontation, earning His respect.
  • Adaptational Badass: While her inspiration Palutena is already shown or implied to be a very powerful goddess in her own right, Pallasthea here has this trait emphasized. While she has been reduced to a Damsel in Distress before, it's noted that those are very few extraordinary exceptions, and she has successfully defeated if not outright curbstomped every other threat against Angelogia of comparable levels of menace, by herself. She is also as the Top God of the Angelogian Pantheon depicted as its single strongest and most capable member, to the point that she could - at minimum - stalemate every other member by herself. Only her sister Queen Gorgona is considered her equal and one reason why she was a co-Top God.
  • Adaptation Expansion: Downplayed as information about her is noted to be surprisingly sparse, but her origins is given this or an Adaptational Backstory Change in depicting her as being related to Giant deities from the Taurus Peninsula.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a goddess who embodies Light, Goodness, Celestials, and Wisdom.
  • Ass Kicks You: Due to her size and temper, she has a habit of sitting down on those smaller than she is who deserved it, or insult her figure.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Due to the gods of Angelogia being related to the Earthen Triplets, a trio of Equine Giant goddess siblings, Pallasthea is part or outright Giant herself and it is noted to be able assume a colossal form for battle like her sister Gorgona and relative Veridi.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Do not harm innocent people (especially mortals) in her presence. She turned on and feuded with her own sister Gorgorna to protect them from her excessive tormenting.
    • Do not eye or insult her figure. Those who do often ends up under it. Or added to it.
    • Do not call her 'ma'am'. She once shrunk and sat on a god who called her that during a Cosmic Council debate until he apologised.
  • Big Eater: Like her inspiration, she is this, and due to being a Giganticorn deity related to Giant divine relatives she has an appetite to rival any Giant deity. One story mentions/depicts her feasting on a metropolis of mortals as part of their divine punishment, and going into an eating competition with Emperor Rex upon another condemned city after deciding to wreck it together. Her entry notes she could (and had fantasized about) eating all of Angelogia.
  • Boring, but Practical: Is a pinch, she can just use her Magic Staff as a blunt weapon.
  • Cain and Abel: The Abel to her sister Gorgona's Cain, having opposed her mistreatment of mortals and on the receiving end of her envy.
  • Distracted by My Own Sexy: Briefly stopped a fight with her sister to look at herself in a mirror.
  • Eaten Alive: Has eaten people on account of being a Giant-Alicorn with an appetite to match.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Noted to be rather dorky due to her intellect and wisdom. She is still very gorgeous and popular as a goddess.
  • Expy: She's based on Palutena, the goddess of light and ruler of Angel Land from the Kid Icarus series.
  • Extreme Omnivore: She is a Giganticorn Big Eater who has shown a willingness to eat anything that is considered edible and even things which normally would not. This ranges from entire banquets to entire kingdoms.
  • Friendly Enemy: With the turtle-ryujin Emperor Rex, if their depictions so far are any indication. Both are mentioned to have fought each other in the Third and Fourth Ages for various reasons, but nowadays are cordial with each other to the point that they decide to stomp a city which earned their ire together rather than fight it out over who gets to play/punish it.
  • Giant Foot of Stomping: Being a Giant Alicorn Hybrid, she is capable of assuming her true size (that of a mountain) and not hesitant in using that to her advantage by stomping her enemies flat.
  • God Is Flawed: Pallasthea is not perfect, having failed before and has her own moments of excessive anger, disproportionate retributions, selective dishonesty, self-righteousness, blatant hypocrisy and petty spite. To her credit, she admits this herself and is self-conscious about them, and cites this as one reason why she protects and nurtures mortals in spite of their own failings, being that gods like herself are not so different if not worse, but they can all grow and change for the better.
  • God of Good: She's the goddess of Light, Goodness and Wisdom.
  • Good Bad Girl: Implied. She's unquestionably benevolent and wise, but is suggested to be less chaste than she appears. She notably keeps wicked mortals and souls she's condemned for 'purposes' other than eating, stomping or other standard sanctioning, and had been in relationships with many be they mortal or god, especially after the Third Age.
  • Heinz Hybrid: She is a Giganticorn, a Giant-Alicorn Hybrid, with her father implied to be an Alicorn.
  • Humans Are Flawed: Or rather, mortals in general are flawed. Unlike her sister Gorgona, who disdains them for it, Pallasthea is much more lenient and forgiving of it, believing that while mortals are capable of great wickedness, complacency, recklessness and ineptitude, gods like herself are just as bad if not worse in this regard, but believe all can still grow and become better.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: The infamous giant vegetable incident aside, being a Giganticorn she has no reservations about eating those smaller than she is, and in fact is legendary for her record if Emperor Rex's words are any indication.
  • Jerkass Gods: VERY downplayed as she is very much a benevolent and wise goddess who cares for mortals, but she still has her flaws and moments of hypocrisy, pettiness and anger. She is also too playful and mischievous with her subordinates and subjects more than she should, and possesses a notable mean streak which some had attributed to come from her naturally-domineering Giant side.
  • Large Ham: She is known to be quite expressive and prone to 'hamming it up', especially in combat. Note that she is considered reserved by Angelogian standards as her peers and rivals are even MORE hammy.
  • Large and in Charge: She has 'the Lady of Light' as her title/epithet, is the nominal ruler of Angelogia, and a Giganticorn who could assume a mountain-sized titanic form to battle her sister, who could also do the same.
  • Lethal Chef: Despite having an appetite rivalling any Giant deity and being a goddess of wisdom, she is a TERRIBLE cook to rival Prince Fanged Paws, having once accidentally created giant vegetable monsters with a rejuvenation potion while cooking (and still have the audacity to eat the resulting mess even after it was resolved). She ends up bonding with Prince Fang Paw over the fact they are disastrously bad cooks.
  • Light 'em Up: She is a goddess of light and has command over it.
  • The Magnificent: 'The Lady of Light', highlighting both her benevolence and her powers over light.
  • Our Giants Are Different: Due to the gods of Angelogia being related to the Earthen Triplets (a trio of Equine Giant goddess siblings), she is a 'Giganticorn' and her true form is colossal as a consequence. It's also confirmed with the reveal they had a divine Orthoequid Giant father they are additionally anthropomorphic equines with bipedal stances and hands, making her and her peers Ortho-Giganticorns.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: For all her faults, she is truly a benevolent and well-meaning authority figure who cares for mortals and wants the best of Angelogia and the world. Her sister, not so much.
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Has a propensity to use highly complex words and jargon in conversation, much to the confusion of Captain/General Pit and others.
  • Sizeshifter: While being a goddess she already has that as an ability, being a Giganticorn herself enables her to readily do this for various purposes.
  • Staff of Authority: Like many other gods, she has one too.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She is tall and very beautiful even by Alicorn standards at normal sizes. Being a Giganticorn, this is exaggerated in her true mountain-sized form.
  • Top God: The nominal head of the Angelogian Pantheon and by far its strongest member, next to her sister Gorgona who is former co-Top God.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: She is by far the most celebrated and revered goddess in Angelogia despite her faults and failings, thanks to her tireless work protecting the lands and guiding mortals there.
  • We Used to Be Friends: She used to be close to her sister Gorgona, but had since developed a feud with her over Gorgona's mistreatment of mortals (and unresolved Envy from Gorgona's side over her receiving all the praises and adulations for her benevolence and wisdom).
  • World's Strongest Man: Quite possibly the strongest being in Angelogia, having protected it for ages without trouble save for occasions where she was blindsided or weakened.

    Captain/General Pit
  • Celestial Paragons and Archangels: Pit is currently an Archangel, having been promoted from Angel by Pallasthea in the intervening millennia.
  • Expy: Of Pit from Kid Icarus.
  • Four-Star Badass: Currently holds the rank of General, having been promoted from Captain by Pallasthea for his exemplary service.
  • Mook Promotion: In the intervening era between the end of the Third Age to the present Fourth Age, he was promoted in both rank (Captain to General) and angelic status (Angel to Archangel).
  • Our Angels Are Different: Equinoid, in this case, like his fellow angels.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Pallasthea, often defending her honour and fighting on her orders to protect Angelogia, despite the frequent teasing and pranking from her.

    Pyron, the (Vain)glorious Sun

Classification: Ethereal/Elemental, Giant, Orthoequid

Portfolio: Sun, Fire, Justice, [WIP]

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

"Pyron senses danger... and now, Pyron SEES it!"

Larger-than-life and hammy, Pyron (first mentioned here) is the Sun god of the Angelogian Pantheon with the handsomeness and ego to match. While not actually as heroic and glorious as he thinks he is or acts like, he still means well and had worked hard since a major screw up back in the Third Age to truly live up to his image with considerable success.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Unlike Pyrrhon, his attempted hijacking of the Chrysos Hivemind and trying to become the greatest god of Angelogia through them is portrayed in a more sympathetic and well-intented light, helped by the fact he did regretted it and try to make amends afterwards.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Back in the day, his egotistical, brash, foolish and eccentric character and lack of competence led to many gods and even mortals not holding him in high regard or even taking him seriously, leading to insecurity and resentment issues which came to a head in the Chrysos Invasion. He has gotten better (and more popular) since then.
  • Break the Haughty: The whole fiasco with the Chrysos humbled him somewhat and pushed him to try and actually live up to his own image.
  • The Cape: Believed and acted like one back in his youth with little success. Now he's closer to his image after working hard to live up to it via training and more actual heroism.
  • Expy: Of Pyrrhon, the Sun God from "Kid Icarus: Uprising".
  • Fake Ultimate Hero: Played straight for Laughs and Drama. He acts like and believes he's the greatest hero and god of Angelogia even back in the Third Age, but nobody took him seriously. His failed attempt to actually become one by hijacking the Chrysos Hivemind only worsened matters. All this hits him hard and ultimately drives him to truly act like one for real.
  • Hot God: Pyron is noted to be quite handsome in appearance, likely helped by his Orthoequid heritage. He's also quite popular with the ladies.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Attempts to hijack the Chrysos Hivemind during the aliens' invasion of Angelogia in order to stop it and harness its power to become the greatest deity of Angelogia. He only made the situation worst, especially once he got himself hijacked instead.
  • Odd Friendship: Mentioned in his introductory Drabble to have surprisingly struck up a friendly rapport with Codex Researcher Mirthful Stone, bonding over insecurity over being not good at anything and fears of screwing up.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: He used to be this due to seeing himself as the greatest hero and god of Angelogia despite not being the strongest and being underestimated for his brash, foolish and eccentric character. Not so much in the present day after he worked hard to actually live up to his image and being largely successful at it.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Pyrrhon's fate remains ambiguous after he regained enough control from the Aurum to blast it and himself into space. Here Pyron survives the experience much battered and humbled.

Overworld

    General

    Veridi, the Princess of Nature
  • Expy: She's based on Viridi, the goddess of nature from the Kid Icarus series.

Underworld

    General

    Gorgona, the Queen of Darkness

Classification: Ethereal/Elemental, Giant(?)

Portfolio: Darkness, Evil, Monsters, Underworld

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a goddess who embodies Darkness, Evil, and Underworlds.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Due to the gods of Angelogia being related to the Earthen Triplets, a trio of Equine Giant goddess siblings, Gorgona is part or outright Giant herself and it is noted to be able assume a colossal form for battle (like Medusa, the Queen of Darkness whom she is based on), and so can her sister.
  • Berserk Button: Like Pallasthea, she takes issue with those who insults or eyes their figures inappropriately. In fact, this is one of the few issues the two antagonistic sisters can still agree on.
Queen Gorgona: [To those watching her and Lady Pallasthea fight in Giant form] Anyone stares at our hindquarters, we'll BOTH crush you!
  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to her sister Pallasthea's Abel. She envies Pallasthea over her getting praises for being benevolent and wise, and also disagrees with her quite strongly over the treatment of mortals. All this led to a feud that's still ongoing.
  • Expy: She's based on Medusa, the goddess of darkness from the Kid Icarus series.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: She envies Pallasthea over getting all the praises and adulations for being benevolent and wise. It contributes to their eventual Cain and Abel situation.
  • God of Evil: Embodies evil as one of her domains along with darkness, monsters and the Underworld.
  • Humans Are Bastards: In contrast to her sister who merely believes mortals are flawed but still redeemable and worth guiding, Gorgona is outright disdainful of them. This was the main cause of their schism as Pallasthea opposes Gorgona's excessive tormenting of them over it.
  • The Hedonist: Noted to be even more 'naughty' than her sister, who isn't exactly chaste herself.
  • Large and in Charge: She has 'the Queen of Darkness' as her title/epitet and could assume a mountain-sized titanic form to battle her sister, who could also do the same.
  • The Magnificent: 'The Queen of Darkness', on account of both her morality and her ability to command darkness.
  • Our Giants Are Different: Due to the gods of Angelogia being related to the Earthen Triplets (a trio of Equine Giant goddess siblings), she is a Giganticorn and her true form is colossal as a consequence.
  • Sizeshifter: While being a goddess she already has that as an ability, being partly/wholly Giant herself enables her to readily do this for various purposes.
  • Start of Darkness: While tensions already exists between them despite their closeness due to disagreements between treatment of mortals and unresolved jealousy issues from Gorgona's end for Pallasthea, the end of the Second Age and events of the Void Aeon caused them to boil over, leading to the sisters feuding and Gorgona becoming truly evil.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Like her sister, she is tall and very beautiful even by Alicorn standards at normal sizes. Being a Giganticorn, this is exaggerated in her true mountain-sized form.

Hypoadis, the (True) Ruler of the Underworld
  • Expy: Of Hades, the true king of the underworld from the Kid Icarus series.
