NYPD

    Leery Oriscoe
Detective Leeromenote  "Leery" Oriscoe is a "Claw" detective of the Supernatural Inquisitors Squad at the 27th precinct. He's a veteran cop and a werewolf with a pathological love for coffee.

  • Papa Bear: When Oriscoe learns that two supernaturals were feeding on his daughter's life force, it's all Nogan can do to keep him from tearing one of them apart on the spot. A point of contention between him and his daughter is her being fascinated with vampires and wanting to become one of them. Oriscoe doesn't want to see his daughter die, even for a moment before being brought back.
  • Super-Hearing: As a werewolf, Oriscoe has excellent hearing, even in human form. This includes hearing both sides of a phone conversation. Nogan often says she keeps forgetting about his werewolf ears, but Oriscoe points out that she actually makes more of an effort if she really wants to keep her phone calls private.
  • Walking Techbane: Oriscoe tries to cultivate this image of himself. He often has trouble using his smartphone (which may or may not be an act) and claims to have caused a city-wide blackout after trying to google something once (which he, possibly deliberately, keeps mangling into "gargle" or "gaggle" or any other similar word).

    Dru Nogan
Detective Drusilla "Dru" Nogan (in actuality, Drusilla bat Agrat) is a "Warder" detective of the Supernatural Inquisitors Squad at the 27th precinct. She is a half-succubus and a half-vampire. She is actually the daughter of Agrat bat Mahlat, one of the four queens of Hell, making her a princess.

  • One-Winged Angel: During the final battle in the ninth episode, Nogan lets loose and reveals her true demonic form for the first time. When her parents and Uncle Luci appear during the battle to help out, they all look at her with pride, as she has finally reached her full potential.
  • Really Royalty Reveal: Nogan is revealed to be Drusilla bat Agrat bat Mahlat, the daughter of one of the Four Queens of Gehenna. She is also the only niece to Lucifer ben Mahlat, the King of Gehenna, and is named as his heir apparent.

    Epatha Van Helsing
Lieutenant Epatha Van Helsing is in charge of the Supernatural Inquisitors Squad at the 27th precinct. She is a ghost and has been a cop for decades. She comes from a clan of paladins.

    Liz Hendrix
Liz Hendrix is the Magical Examiner of the Supernatural Inquisitors Squad at the 27th precinct.

    Ice Cofy
Detective Ice Cofy of the Spectral Victims Unit is the only detective in NYPD to not have a "Claw" or "Warder" partner, as him being a summoner means he can call upon an ifrit whenever he wants.

    Vinny Gonofrio
Detective Vinbert "Vinny" Gonofrio is a "Warder" detective of the Maleficium Cryptogenia Unit at One Police Plaza. Despite his large bulk and the physical strength of the nephilim, his role in the partnership is that of a warder thanks to his blessings.

  • Nephilim: Being a nephel means that Gonofrio is inhumanly strong, has wings, can speak any language, and can cast blessings, including a powerful shield that can even stand up to dragon breath.

    Kathandra Earbes
Detective Kathandra Earbes is a "Claw" detective of the Maleficium Cryptogenia Unit at One Police Plaza. Despite her diminutive stature, she tends to engage violent suspects directly thanks to her being a pooka.

Locus Magisters

    Sam McCoy
Executive Assistant Locus Magister Sam McCoy is the one usually prosecuting the cases brought to him by the Supernatural Inquisitors Squad. He is a warlock.

  • Dating Catwoman: McCoy starts a relationship with his frequent opponent defense magister Tovah Melnick. They remain purely professional in court, though.

    Angie Carmichael
Assistant Locus Magister Angie Carmichael is usually the second chair in trials prosecuted by her boss Sam McCoy, although sometimes he lets her be first chair. She is a witch. In the fourth book, she starts dating Lucifer after impressing him in court.

Judges

    Aleister Crowley
Judge Aleister Crowley is occasionally presiding over the criminal cases brought before him by Sam McCoy. Previously a warlock, he is now a ghost.

  • Dimensional Traveler: Crowley is noted as being the first to break the barrier between this world and Gehenna.
  • Honorary Uncle: Crowley is a close family friend of Agrat bat Mahlat and Hercule DuSang, as well as Lucifer, so Nogan usually calls him "Uncle Aleister."

Others

    Agrat bat Mahlat
Agrat bat Mahlat is one of the four queens of Gehenna, Lucifer's sister, and Nogan's mother. She is a succubus and a powerful demoness.

  • Mama Bear: Don't ever try to hurt Nogan if you know what's good for you.
  • Try to Fit That on a Business Card: Her August Majesty, Agrat bat Mahlat, Sovereign of Demons, Commander of the Eighteen Legions, Queen of the Shabbat, Angel of Divine and Sacred Prostitution, Dancing Roof-Demon, Mistress of Sorcery, One of the Four Queens of Gehenna, She of the Great and Terrible Name.

    Hercule DuSang
Hercule DuSang is an old and powerful French vampire, consort to Agrat bat Mahlat, and Nogan's father.

  • Daywalking Vampire: When asked by Oriscoe's daughter how he can stand being outside in broad daylight, Hercule explains that the sun used to be dangerous to his kind, but now there are sunscreen and melanin treatments to help vampires deal with the sun.
  • Papa Wolf: Extremely protective of his daughter Nogan.
  • Real Men Cook: As a Frenchman, Hercule is an excellent cook, even though he himself only consumes blood.

    Lucifer
Lucifer ben Mahlat is the ruler of Gehenna and Nogan's uncle.

  • Try to Fit That on a Business Card: Lucifer ben Mahlat, King of Gehenna, Lord of the Flies, Prince of Darkness, Father of Lies, the Great Shaytan, Day-Star, Son of The Morning, Tempter, Angel of Light, Lord of the Air, the Great Adversary, the Roaring Lion, Angel of the Abyss, the Dragon Lord, He of the Great and Terrible Name.

    Gregory
Gregory is a transdimensional demon and Agrat bat Mahlat's driver.

  • Drives Like Crazy: Even Oriscoe is a little disturbed at Gregory's driving, and Oriscoe is the one most New Yorkers try to steer clear of.
  • Teleportation: Being a transdimensional, Gregory can exist in multiple places at the same time, so it's trivial for him to appear in any realm at any location at any time.

    Puriel
Puriel is an angel and the Lord of Hosts, commanding the armies of Heaven in God's name.
