The Sequel's Protagonist. Kasumi Akai-Amsel is the adopted daughter of Kazuki and Axel.- Affectionate Nickname: Nagisa calls her Kasumi-chan.
- Chekhov's Gun: The white feather Kasumi relies on to bless her with good dreams at night. Miu is revealed to have given her this years ago which she now uses to protect Kasumi and her friends from being victims of the darkness.
- Collared by Fashion: Around her neck is a red collar with a black buckle in the middle.
- Crush Blush: Sports a Luminescent Blush whenever she's around Nagisa.

Ascelin Isolde

“All this squad stuff is really annoying to me. Why can’t we just be normal high school students for once and join clubs?”
The squad's Leader. Ascelin is the son of Xiomara Amsel and Blanc Isolde, making him the cousin of Kasumi Akai-Amsel.- An Ice Person: Inherited his father's ice powers in the form of his wrist blasters.
- Big Ol' Eyebrows: Ascelin's profound eyebrows were also passed down from Blanc.
- Cheshire Cat Grin: Flashed his mother's Crescent Moon smile at a bunch of girls in Chapter 2.
- Chick Magnet: Has a large female following reminiscent of his uncle Axel.
- The Drag-Along: There are a lot of times where Ascelin is initially reluctant to do something but relents for Kasumi's ake. Usually, it revolves around Nagisa.
- The Fashionista: Justified since both of his parents are supermodels.
- Hate at First Sight: Ascelin was put off by Nagisa just by looking at him and there was no way in hell that he'd let him get close to his cousin.

Nagisa (unmarked spoilers)
Debut: Cerberus High II Chapter 1
“I promise, Ascelin, that I will be of great use to both of you! I may not look like it but I am a very skilled medic.”
The self-proclaimed Medic of the squad. Nagisa is an eccentric human boy with a lot of secrets and a fondness for Kasumi.- Audience Surrogate: Like Kazuki in the first book, Nagisa was clueless about canid breeds before attending Cerberus High and yearns to learn more about them.
- Bully Magnet: His eccentricity and small frame caused him to be a constant target of school bullies until Kasumi told them off one day. Nagisa is despised by Ascelin, who found great amusement in the human's lack of wealth.
- Cleavage Window: A male example.
- Dying as Yourself: In the moments leading up to his death, Nagisa breaks free from Red Star's control. As a ghost, Nagisa possesses his true personality which is on the mellow side.
- Fashionable Asymmetry
- Gender-Blender Name: Nagisa is most commonly used as a female name.
- Hair Intakes: To match his Forever-Still Space Red Star.
- His Name Is...: After being gravely wounded by Corrupted Miu's attack, Nagisa uses his final moments to warn Kasumi and the others about Red Star's existence. However, before he could get the name out, bites his tongue off in an apparent suicide.
- Hollywood Heart Attack: Has a mini one in Chapter 2 that manages to bring him to his knees. Nagisa quickly recovers from this with the excuse that he just lost his wallet.
- Interspecies Romance: Nagisa and Kasumi are very fond of each other.
- I Owe You My Life: Having been saved by Kasumi from a gang of bullies, Nagisa is determined to repay her for her kindness. To appease him, Kasumi makes him the third member of her and Ascelin’s squad.
- Keet: Very energetic and eccentric.
- Offing the Offspring: In Chapter 4 of Cerberus High: Hearts Forever Engraved, Nagisa recalls in his backstory how his father brought his mother out to sea under the pretence of a joyful boating trip while he was still in utero. Nagisa's father murders his mother in the rental boat and puts her mutilated body in the water. Despite dying too, Nagisa is born as a result of a coffin birth with the darkness of the sea assisting in his Overnight Age-Up.
- Only One Name
- Our Ghosts Are Different: Returns in the finale as a ghost dressed in white. He longer has all the bandages covering his body and his hair returned to its natural brown color.
- Overnight Age-Up: Nagisa was able to grow from a newborn to a teen quickly with the darkness of the sea that he and his mother were dumped in assisting in his growth.
- Secretly Dying: He has only confided in Kasumi about his terminal illness in which he urges to not tell anyone else about.
- Stepford Smiler: Nagisa's eccentric and clueless personality was constructed by Red Star to keep him as a willing pawn. It is only in his final moments when he survives Corrupted Miu's attack, albeit only for a short time. does his real personality surface.
- Taking the Bullet: Nagisa pushed Kasumi out of the way when Corrupted Miu fired her shadow attack, causing him to be hit instead

- Little Bit Beastly: She's a canid breed, specifically a husky/terrier mix.
- Named After Someone Famous: Named after the Russian space dog.
- Nice Girl: Has a very nice and pleasant personality as shown by how she offered to pay for the Arsy-Varsy Nectar Kiss's pizza meal.

- Pretty in Mink: Her outfit has a lot of fur to show the Russian origin of her namesake.

Laelaps
Debut: Cerberus High II Chapter 2
Laika's right-hand man. Laelaps is a wolf-canid who wields a katana and is a fan of an anime by the name of Resolute Blood.- Little Bit Beastly: Wolf-canid.
- It's Personal: When Kazuki tells him to spare the cryptids trapped within the Sword of Supernatural Calamity, Laelaps refuses as, according to him, they all are responsible for Laika's kidnapping.
- No Social Skills: After Laelaps offends Kasumi by bluntly dismissing her Psychic Powers, Laika intervenes to explain that the wolf-canid is simply unaccustomed to social situations and can be insensitive at times.

Miu is a major character in the series as she is the embodiment of the love between the two Overworld gods and will bring about the end of the world.- Abstract Apotheosis: Miu is the physical embodiment of the love between the two Overworld gods Shun Demdagos and Inugami.
- Apocalypse Maiden: With the sword of Supernatural Calamity in her hands, Miu is destined to split the earth, bringing about the destruction of all worlds and universes. It only takes one small slash to the air and everything will end. Despite being banished from this world, she can't bring herself to end it.
- BFS: Wields the Sword of Supernatural Calamity as well as her Seraph Sword.
- Big Good: Embodies the strongest element and is the one who defeats the book's Big Bad.

The Sequel's Big Bad. Red Star is Nagisa's Forever-Still Space personified.- Baddie Flattery: When meeting Kazuki, the first thing Red Star does is remark how he is cuter than she expected.
- Blinded by the Light: When Red Star dices Miu up with her Sword of Supernatural Calamity, Miu’s supposed corpse detonates and Red Star is hit by a blinding light. The blinding light disappears and Red Star is met by all the many Seraph Mius spanning from different universes.
