  • Abhorrent Admirer: Caleb had spent his entire game obsessing over Amber, much to her discomfort and disconcertion. She made it clear that she had no romantic interest in Caleb but this didn't stop Caleb rom counting to obsess over her on a daily basis. When Caleb had confessed to Amber how he felt about her, Amber admitted in the DR that she felt extremely uncomfortable with Caleb's proclamations of love towards her because she didn't feel the same and that she probably never would. Amber had said to many other houseguests that she was repulsed by Caleb and his infatuation with her and she wanted nothing to do with him on a romantic level despite being allies and friends with him. In fact, it got to the point where someone claimed it was like Caleb saw and treated Amber more like a prize than a person. However, Caleb later moved on and landed a wife, proving he got over her.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Amber is a nice girl, but do not cross her or piss her off.
  • The Big Girl: Amber is the tallest female houseguest of the season.
  • Butt-Monkey: Almost everyone in the house constantly throws Amber under the bus. And much of it is because Caleb was ogling her so bad that she became a huge target just to keep him in line.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Amber just couldn't downright tell Caleb that she had zero romantic interest in him. Because of it, many fans perceived Amber to be leading Caleb on.
  • Cool Shades: Amber has a variety of sunglasses.
  • The Cutie: Amber is very sweet and loveable.
  • Damsel in Distress: Caleb would always try to take credit for saving Amber from eviction.
  • Dandere: Amber was very introverted and shy and she rarely spoke unless she was being spoken to.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She has her witty moments, mainly during her DR sessions.
  • Defiant to the End: Even when Amber was on the block, Amber still refused to give into Caleb's obsession over her.
  • Emotionless Girl: Amber doesn't show that much emotion and she comes off as aloof.
  • Fatal Attractor: Poor Amber and Caleb's obsession with her. Amber just couldn't get away.
  • Fanservice Pack: Is generally considered the most attractive female of the season.
  • The Fashionista: Amber loves clothing and dressing up.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: Amber cooks the most out of all the houseguests, so much that she cooks for other people.
  • The Gadfly: Amber stated in her pre season interview that she loves to pull pranks on other people for the fun of it. She also has a love of making prank calls on her friends.
  • Girly Bruiser: She's one of the most feminine houseguests but she's also the strongest female competitor. Out of a cast filled with highly weak female competitors, Amber was clearly the strongest woman in the house in terms of competitive and athletic ability and prowess.
  • Girly Girl: Very feminine and loves fashion due to being a model.
  • Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Amber is extremely girly and feminine as she's an aesthetician and a model who loves fashion, dressing up, and wearing makeup. She's also got some tomboyish qualities as she engages in more masculine hobbies like rock climbing and shooting guns.
  • Has a Type: Amber says she has a thing for Tall, Dark, and Handsome men. Hence, it is understandable why she was drawn to Devin when she first saw him.
  • Hypocrite: She expressed annoyance at the males controlling the house every week up to Week 4, but questioned why someone like Derrick or Zach can't be in control of the game so they'll take it easy on the girls.
  • Ice Queen: Showed shades of this probably because she was so shy, introverted and stoic.
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Seemed to be this for Caleb. Amber does not reciprocate Caleb's affections.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She is a very attractive female, plus she is a model. She even wears a bikini in the revamped opening title sequence for the season.
  • Nice Girl: Amber was the least catty girl in the house. She was not the type to trash talk any of the other female houseguests, unlike Christine, Nicole and Victoria, who would constantly talk trash about one another. Amber was also very nice and kind to people who treated her terribly or did not deserve her kindness, such as Caleb for example.
  • No Guy Wants to Be Chased: Gender-Inverted. Caleb has has a strong obsession with Amber since the beginning of the game. But Amber has made it clear that she was not into Caleb romantically. However, this didn't stop Caleb from continuing on trying to pursue Amber even though she had made it clear that she wasn't interested. With time, Amber started to feel more and more uncomfortable with Caleb's obsession and pursuit of her that she even said that Caleb is becoming one of her targets.
  • Oblivious to Love: Amber was completely obvious to Caleb's crush or intense infatuation (which eventually turned into a major obsession) on her. She eventually came to realize this fact and made it clear she wasn't interested in him. Plus, she grew more and more uncomfortable with Caleb and his creepy obsession with her.
  • Only Sane Woman: Compared to all of the other out there personalities, such as Caleb (who is known to be obsessive and given a stalker edit), Devin (who was very aggressive and controlling in personality), Paola (who was nothing more than a loud mouth who could not keep her mouth shut and started so much unnecessary drama), Zach (who was very unpredictable and a huge Wild Card) and Frankie (who is over the top and overdoes everything), Amber is very calm, level headed and practical. She came off as very unemotional because she did not display too much emotion. All in all, Amber was definitely the sane one of the house.
  • Outdoorsy Gal: Amber has a love of the outdoors and engaging in activities that are in the outdoors such as hiking, kayaking and rock climbing.
  • Playing Hard to Get: At least Caleb thought that Amber was playing hard to get with Caleb because she didn't want to become a target due to her having "feelings" for him.
  • The Quiet One: Amber is rather quiet and shy. She was definitely the Shrinking Violet who would keep to herself most of the time. She would barely engage in conversation or start conversation with others unless she is being spoken to.
  • Quirky Curls: Amber has naturally curly hair.
  • The Scapegoat: Most of the houseguests thought that she was the one leading Caleb instead of the other way around.
  • Ship Tease: With Cody. Although it was nothing but harmless flirtation, the show ended Amber and Cody's interactions with each other in a very couple like manner. They even made it seem like Caleb was very jealous of Cody and Amber's relationship. In reality, Amber and Cody were just friends.
  • Show Some Leg: She constantly showed off her legs. The fact that she's almost always barefoot also gives attention to them.
  • Shrinking Violet: Amber came off as introverted, shy and aloof.
  • Southern Belle: She has a subtle Tennessee-like accent.
  • Statuesque Stunner: The tallest woman in the house. Interestingly enough, she's also a model in which height is a prominent feature. Amber is about 5'10" and is over 6'0" when she wears a pair of high heels. She also seems to tower over a lot of the male houseguests.
  • The Stoic: Amber doesn't show much emotion. See Emotionless Girl.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Amber is The Stoic and Emotionless Girl and she never shows much emotion. She always seems to be in control and she is very calm, cool and collected.
  • Tall, Dark, and Handsome: Amber stated that the type of guy that she's attracted to is tall, dark and handsome. Unfortunately for Caleb, he was not her type.
  • Tsundere: Amber's a generally Nice Girl but she acts sarcastic and snarky towards Caleb.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: Zach accuses her of being this to Caleb. Despite it being an attempt to provoke an argument for a Team America task, the Jerkass Has a Point.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: Amber's eyes are her most outstanding and noticeable physical feature.
  • When She Smiles: Amber has a very beautiful and infectious smile. When she does crack a smile, it makes everyone want to smile.

Brittany Christine Martinez (Evicted HG #04)

Brittany Christine Martinez

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brittanybb16_2_1.png

Born: Feb 01, 1985
Age: 29
Hometown: Long Beach, CA
Current Residence: Torrance, CA
Occupation: Event Coordinator
Loyalties: Donny, Jocasta, Amber, and Caleb
Number Of HOH's Won: None
Number Of POV's Won: None
Number Of Battle Of The Block's Won: 1
Number Of Times Nominated: 3
Number Of Eviction Votes (Against): 10
Number Of Times As a Have-Not: 2
Prizes/Punishments: Soccer Goal Kicking Punishment note
Finished: 13th Place (EVICTED 10-0)

  • Action Mom: Brittany has proven that she can be rather athletic. Kicking 2,400 goals in a soccer net proved that she has both athleticism and determination.
  • Agony of the Feet: The woman's poor feet took a beating when she was given a marathon punishment.
  • Alpha Bitch: She seems likable and charming at first, but the way she treats Victoria comes off like this. She claims that she deserves to be there over other people simply because she is a single mother with three young children. Brittany would resort to mild trash talking of the other houseguests, in particular, some of the female houseguests (but it was mostly Victoria that she seemed to pick on, and Victoria was known for being very obnoxious at times and sometimes calling it down on herself for annoying people).
  • Butt-Monkey: Brittany was ostracized by the houseguests, especially when she was nominated. That same week, she had to kick a total of 2,400 goals within 24 hours in a soccer net due to a punishment in a POV competition. This required her to stay up all night and even in the morning so that she could complete this punishment. After she had completed it, she realized how many injuries she had on her toes and that even one of her toenails was coming off. To top if off, she was evicted by a unanimous vote against her personal friend in the house, Donny. Poor Brittany.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Brittany had a good sense of humour and was rather witty. Brittany's sense of humour is more on the dry side. Let's not forget that she can be incredibly snide and sarcastic at times, especially when she is irritated or annoyed about something.
  • The Determinator: In Week 4, she was given a punishment as part of the POV competition in which she had to make 2,400 soccer goals in 24 hours. She succeeded.
  • The Ditz: Brittany comes off as a little bit on the ditzy side. She doesn't seem to be particularly brainy or smart. She also seems to have a Horrible Judge of Character and did not even realize that during the week of her eviction, that Cody and Derrick were the ones that were responsible for her demise in the game.
  • Drama Queen: Part of her undoing in Week 4 came after Cody found out that she did not feel safe from nomination because she was the only girl in the house that didn't flirt with Cody, and got angered as he felt that Brittany didn't give him enough credit as a person than that.
  • Entitled Bitch: Brittany came off as this at times and constantly complained about which houseguests deserved to be there over others. There are many instances in which Brittany openly said that she deserved to be there more than Zach and Victoria.
  • The Fashionista: Brittany seems to love dressing up. She seems to show a penchant for clothing and fashion and she also loves makeup and styling her hair.
  • Four Is Death: Brittany was evicted by a unanimous vote and was the fourth houseguest to be evicted.
  • Girly Bruiser: Brittany proved that she was a competitor despite being a Girly Girl. This is the same girl who proved her tenacity and athleticism when she kicked 2400 goals in a soccer net. If Brittany has stayed in the game longer than she did, it could be assumed that Brittany would have been one of the strongest female competitors of the season.
  • Girly Girl: Brittany is very girly and feminine. She seems to love dressing up, fashion and putting on makeup. She is definitely one of the most girly girls in the house.
  • Glamorous Single Mother: Brittany is a single mother of three children, is a recent divorcee, and she maintains a job as an event coordinator. From the way Brittany talked on the live feeds, it seems that when she was married, she lived a very comfortable lifestyle and still does, although she admitted that she is struggling to keep up with some of her bills. From what it sounds like, Brittany lives in a reasonably big house and she drives a BMV. For someone who is struggling financially and juggling raising three children and her job, she seems to live rather comfortably.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Brittany was a nice girl, but she could be rather catty at times. Her treatment of Victoria was very mean spirited, even though Victoria's behavior could be seen as spoiled and childish. Brittany is also not above trash talking other houseguests (her main targets were often Victoria, Christine, Devin, Paola and Zach) and being overly judgmental regarding which houseguest deserved to be there more than others.
  • Good Parents: It is clear by the way that Brittany talks about her children that she is a very good mother. She did the show so that she could win the money for her family. Brittany has said that her children are her number one priority and that she will do anything for them.
  • Hollywood California: Brittany originally hails from California.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Brittany had a terrible view or reading on most of the houseguests and she was completely gullible and naive, trusting the wrong people. Although Brittany feelings regarding Victoria about her being spoiled, entitled and childish were actually right, Brittany was completely wrong about Cody and Derrick. Brittany continued to say that she trusted Derrick and Cody the most both inside of the house and outside of the house, when it was north Derrick and Cody were directly and indirectly responsible for Brittany's demise and eviction. Brittany, did you not forget that Cody nominated you and had you evicted?
  • Intergenerational Friendship: With Donny. Brittany had a very close and heartwarming friendship and relationship with Donny. It is safe too say that aside from Cody and Derrick, Donny was her closest ally and friend in the house.
  • Lovable Alpha Bitch: Brittany is a little bitchy but still likeable. She was a little catty towards some of the female houseguests, in particular Paola and Victoria. Brittany definitely did not think that Victoria was worthy of being in the house and felt that Victoria was very spoiled, entitled and bratty in her attitude and behaviour.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Brittany is an attractive woman who is physically fit.
  • Nice Girl: She had her bitchy moments, but she was still nice. She was generally nice and polite to everyone but there were as few houseguests that Brittany did not click with, which included Victoria and Christine. Brittany seemed to clash with Victoria because she thought that Victoria was very disrespectful, spoiled, whiny and entitled.
  • The Quiet One: Brittany was rather quiet and hardly spoke unless she was spoken to. The only time when she would become more talkative is if she is talking about something that interests her or if she is interested in the person she is talking to. Otherwise, Brittany doesn't seem to be a huge fan of small talk.
  • The Resenter: This was what crushed her chances of staying in the game. Brittany would get mad and acidic toward anyone she believed was not good company, and anyone who didn't return her affections. This led the house to start turning against her because they got sick of dealing with her side-eye and quiet contempt toward everybody.
  • Shipper on Deck: Twitter comments made by her suggest that she thinks Nicole and Hayden should get together.
  • Ship Tease: With Cody. It was obvious that there was a spark between Cody and Brittany, however, Brittany had said that although she though Cody was cute and nice guy, she felt that he was too young for her. Cody, on the other hand, had major crush on Brittany and he admitted that she was his favourite female in the house.
  • Shrinking Violet: Brittany is on the shy and introverted side. She doesn't really engage in much conversation with other houseguests and she doesn't really speak unless she is spoken to.
  • The Social Expert: In Week 3, she manages to talk to Devin (who wanted her gone that week) about how parents should win the show. Which made Devin like her and decided to veto her of the block.
  • Take That!: During her post-Veto ceremony speech in Week 2, she turned to Paola and flat out told her she sucked at challenges.
  • Team Mom: She and Jocasta are the mothers of the season.
  • Teen Pregnancy: Brittany had her first child at the young age of 17 and has had three kids at the age of only 29. She had sex with her former husband and ended up getting pregnant, which led to a rushed marriage. She ended up marrying off mostly to avoid being saddled with the difficulties of raising children as an unwed teen mother, which, unfortunately, led to her and her ex-spouse having a fight years later when the two realized they hadn't married out of love, but out of obligation.

Devin Kenneth Shepherd (Evicted HG #03)

Devin Kenneth Shepherd

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/devinbb16_6.png

Born: Sept 09, 1987
Age: 26
Hometown: Oxnard, CA
Current Residence: San Antonio, TX
Occupation: Motorcycle Sales Manager
Loyalties: Amber and Caleb
Alliances: Bomb Squad note , Double D's note
Number Of HOH's Won: 1
Number Of POV's Won: 1
Number Of Battle Of The Block's Won: None
Number Of Times Nominated: 1
Number Of Eviction Votes (Against): 11
Number Of Times As a Have-Not: 1
Prizes/Punishments Taken: None
Finished: 14th Place (EVICTED 11-0)

  • Alas, Poor Villain: Even though Devin had it coming, Devin completely loses it in Week 3. He is made a Have Not and he is completely ostracized and ignored by the rest of the house, including his own Bomb Squad alliance members. The reason for them avoiding him is because they realize what a loose canon Devin is and how he is exploited the good intentions of all of them. His alliance realized that he cannot be trusted because he is too unstable. He displayed disloyalty to his alliance when he decided to nominate or back door his fellow Bomb Squad member Zach, simply because Zach made a mistake and rubbed him the wrong way. Devin's alliance realized that because he is so unstable and unpredictable, he is the most expendable member of the alliance and they decide that their alliance would be better off without him. Derrick ends up the sole HOH that week and he nominates Caleb and Jocasta with the intention of backdooring Devin. Devin loses the POV while Donny wins it. Donny chooses to use the POV to save Jocasta from the block, resulting in Derrick backdooring Devin by naming him the replacement nominee. Afterwards, he has a complete emotional meltdown when he realizes how much he messed up by turning on his alliance.
  • Alpha Bitch: A male version.
  • And There Was Much Rejoicing: All of the houseguests were happy and pleased when Devin was evicted.
  • Anti-Villain: He is fairly noble, despite his unpleasant personality.
  • Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Oh, so much. Devin thought he was the strongest player in the house and that everyone should be intimidated by him.
  • Asshole Victim: Devin was seriously his own worst enemy.
  • Badass Boast: Devin was a huge braggart with a big ego.
  • Bad Boss: To his fellow Bomb Squad alliance members. He made absolutely stupid and completely irrational decisions on the show, to the point where Paola told him upfront, "Your daughter's gonna look at this, and she's gonna laugh."
  • Bash Brothers: With Caleb. Caleb was Devin's number one ally in the game.
  • Believing Their Own Lies: Devin would lie, but then try to spin it to others that he was being honest and playing with integrity.
  • The Berserker: Devin was highly irrational and competitive.
  • Berserk Button: Attacking Devin and his integrity or bringing his daughter into anything is a huge no-no.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Ultimately turned out to be this in the end.
  • Big Eater: Devin ate a lot while he was in the house. He even ended up gaining weight.
  • The Big Guy: The tallest and largest male houseguest of the season. And he is extremely musclebound.
  • Blood Knight: Devin was strongly competitive, so much that he even went after or attacked his own alliance members.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: Devin was very bold and erratic.
  • Break the Haughty: Devin was cocky and arrogant the first few weeks...until he is made a Have Not and nominated.
  • Bring It: Devin actually welcomed the challenge of avoiding a backdoor nomination.
Devin: Sometimes the back door is the only door...
  • Brutal Honesty: Devin told people exactly what he felt at the expense of others feelings.
  • The Bully: Some of his fellow houseguests found Devin very intimidating.
  • Can't Take Criticism: Devin never reacted well when someone called him out on his behaviour.
  • Cassandra Truth: Devin wanted to go after Derrick among many others he suspected would become floaters, and didn't get to do it. Nobody else ever took a shot at Derrick following Devin's eviction, which is why the season got so dismal, because Derrick began to run everything.
  • Catchphrase: "I have a daughter". Also, arguably, "At the end of the day..."
  • Celebrity Resemblance: Devin has a strong resemblance to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: During his run in the game, who hadn't he betrayed? Because of this, his erratic behavior placed a very large target on his back. This really came to light during Week 2 when he had Paola throw the Battle of the Block (leaving her on the block) because he promised her she was not the target, Brittany was, and if he won the veto he would use it to save her. When he did win the Veto, he used it to save Brittany due to a last-minute talk she had with him, and sdaola was sent home. Oh, and the replacement nominee Devin put up was Zach, a member of his alliance to boot.
  • Classic Villain: Devin represents Pride and Wrath. Devin seemed to be very vain with a huge ego and whenever he gained power, he let it get to his head. He also had a huge temper and an anger problem.
  • Control Freak: Probably the biggest one in the house.
  • The Cynic: The most sarcastic and cynical person in the house. Having a relationship that failed has left a deep mark on him in that respect because he went from being in baseball- his dream- to a motorcycle sales agent, because he had a child.
  • Cynical Leader: To his fellow Bomb Squad alliance members.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: A former professional baseball player turned single dad. He has a lot to talk about. The most intriguing thing he brings up is his struggle with addiction and going to rehab. This was the most difficult time of his life, which saw his career in pro baseball and relationship fall apart.
  • The Determinator: Devin was very persistent and always wanted things to go his way. It was his way or the highway regardless of the opinions of his fellow alliance members.
  • Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead: Everybody celebrated when Devin got slammed out of the game.
  • Dramatic Irony: Devin saw Paola as a wonderful choice for a jury goat due to being an ineffective player and was going to push her all the way through Jury if he could. Too bad it was exactly because of her ineptitude that Paola was sniped out of the game that very same week that Devin plotted to keep her around.
  • The Dreaded: The house seemed to be intimidated by Devin and his behaviour.
  • Drunk with Power: Every time Devin received power, he let it get to his head.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Devin expected his alliance (The Bomb Squad) to respect him and his decisions at all costs, yet he did nothing to earn the respect from his fellow alliance members.
  • Emotional Bruiser: Even though he is a huge jerk, he's a little on the emotional and sensitive side.
  • Entitled Bastard: Along with Caleb. Devin always expect things to go his way. It's Devin's way or the high way.
  • Even Jerkasses Have Loved Ones: Well, Devin does love his daughter.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Despite being a huge Jerkass, Devin never really crossed the moral line and he cared about playing the game with morals, values and integrity.
  • Evil Is Bigger: Devin is the tallest male in the house.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: Devin has a very deep sounding voice.
  • Everything Is Big in Texas: Devin is from Texas and the tallest, biggest male houseguest of the season.
  • The Eeyore: Devin was a huge downer and brought down the vibe of the house. It was like he was chronically depressed all the time and just did nothing but spread his doom and gloom around the house. No wonder nobody wanted to interact with him or align with him. He seemed to be upset he wasn't around his daughter Jayden.
  • Freudian Excuse: Devin tried very hard not to anger any women in the house because he knows from experience the consequences (the ex). He said, "Once you've pissed one of them off, you pissed all of them off."
  • Genre Blind: Devin's game included going back on his word, intimidating others, trying to take control of his alliance, and outing his alliance to other houseguests and warning his former allies that he would come after them in the future. You have to wonder if he understood the point of the game.
  • Gentle Giant: Only in regards to his daughter, Jayden. He becomes a softy when it comes to her.
  • Graceful Loser: Devin saw his eviction coming from a mile away and even gave a "Phew!" whistle at how badly he lost. But when he went out of the house, he was quick to laugh it off and take his loss with grace and go home to his daughter in good spirits.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Devin has a bit of a quick temper.
  • Heroic Build: Devin is very muscular.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Caleb.
  • Hollywood California: Devin is originally from Calif
  • Hot-Blooded: Devin is very passionate, impulsive and gets easily irritated.
  • Hunk: See Mr. Fanservice.
  • Intolerable Tolerance: Devin will make dozens of side alliances, yet he will get mad at you for making one.
  • It's All About Me: Even within the Bomb Squad, Devin acted like his best interests were the alliance's best interests. After breaking away from them, he's open with this attitude.
  • Jerkass: Between intimidating houseguests, lying to his allies, and repeatedly acting like he runs the house, Devin is a very unpleasant individual and had made an enemy of almost everyone for it. He makes Caleb and Zach sound like nice guys in comparison.
  • Jerk Jock: Big time. Devin is the most testosterone filled and athletic male in the house. All he seems to do is spend time lifting weights. It doesn't help that Devin is very arrogant, aggressive and brash in his behaviour. He even comes off as The Bully in the way that he unnecessarily intimidates people. He also picked out a sleek wardrobe to look tough upon packing for the house.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite being a mega jerk, Devin did have a good heart and does love his daughter.
  • Kick the Dog: Not only did Devin make Zach a Have Not, but he also nominated him by backdooring him.
  • Large and in Charge: Devin was in charge of the Bomb Squad alliance.
  • Mighty Glacier: Physically, Devin is really strong.
  • Mood-Swinger: Devin's personality changes on a dime. It's even reflected in his BB Comic's "Mr. Personality" cover, who has three different heads of emotions.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Devin is very physically attractive, despite his unlikable personality.
  • Noble Demon: Despite his crappy personality, Devin is fairly noble.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Hayden called him "The Rock". Vocally, he even sounds like Dwayne Johnson!
  • Sanity Slippage: He became more and more paranoid about Donny lying about being a groundskeeper (even though he is), which caused many members of the Bomb Squad to become alienated by him, and this was just during the first two weeks. In general, it seems that every week he was in the house, Devin lost more and more of his mind and made terrible decisions for his game.
  • Shipper on Deck: If you look on his Twitter (post-eviction), it is very clear that Devin is a Zach and Frankie supporter.
  • Ship Tease: He found Joey very attractive and just his type in the short time she was in the house.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Devin has one of the biggest egos in the house.
  • Smug Snake: Devin had a huge ego, probably the biggest ego in the house next to Caleb.
  • Smug Super: Very arrogant, smug and full of himself.
  • Starter Villain: Devin is evicted by a unanimous 11-0 vote and came in 14th place. But he happened to be the most proactive player the beginning and was one of the few people who stopped the game from being run roughshod by Frankie, Christine, and Derrick.
  • Stupid Evil: Devin is highly competitive and is very strong physically, but strategically, he's not very bright and in fact, has a terrible strategic and social game.
  • Tall, Dark, and Handsome: How Amber described him.
  • Tattooed Crook: Has some tattoos on his body.
  • Team Dad: Along with Derrick, he is a father and has a daughter.
  • Testosterone Poisoning: Devin is the most testosterone filled and masculine male houseguest of the season.
  • Top-Heavy Guy: Devin has a very broad upper body including his shoulders and chests. See Heroic Build.
  • Verbal Tic: Loves to say "dude" or "bro" when he talks.
  • Where da White Women At?: Seems to have a personal preference for Caucasian or White women. Devin stated that he had a strong attraction to Joey when he first saw her, indicating that he may be attracted to White women (though Joey is very tan).
  • Worthy Opponent: The house saw Devin as intimidating and as a huge physical threat.

  • Asian Airhead: Paola, the only Asian, really didn't seem that particularly smart.
  • Attention Whore: Paola seemed to love being the centre of attention, hence why she was so loud and aggressive. Understandable, since she does have a very New York personality.
  • Beauty Is Bad: Paola is very attractive but was also a Lovable Alpha Bitch.
  • Big Applesauce: Paola is originally from New York.
  • Big Eater: Paola seems to love eating.
  • Brainless Beauty: Paola is a model but not the sharpest tool in the shed.
  • Broken Tears: She was crying after her eviction.
  • Brutal Honesty: Paola was very blunt and sarcastic.
  • Contrived Coincidence: She met and is friends with GinaMarie Zimmerman from Big Brother 15.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: Many fans found Paola's voice during her DR sessions to be rather annoying.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Paola is very clumsy and is not very graceful.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Paola had her funny, sarcastic and witty comments.
  • The Ditz: Paola definitely did not come off as brainy or smart.
  • Dragon Lady: Subverted. Although Paola was edgy and was highly aggressive at times, she is more of an Asian Airhead.
  • Epic Fail: Her attempts to use a swing from a stopped position cost her and Donny any chance of winning the first Battle of the Block Competition.
    • Another Epic Fail moment is during the first Veto competition, where instead of spelling the word "calculator", she ends up running out of time and spelling "caltoru" instead.
  • The Fashionista: Paola loved clothing and makeup. Understandable considering that she is a model.
  • Femme Fatale: Used her sexuality and flirted with many of the male houseguests.
  • Fun Size: Paola was the smallest female houseguest of the season.
  • Genki Girl: Paola is very outgoing, upbeat and enthusiastic.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Paola seemed like she was a party girl who enjoys drinking socially. She is a DJ and she is from New York after all.
  • Hot-Blooded: Paola is dramatic, fiery, hot headed and passionate. She's not the type to back down from a fight and she can be very loud, abrasive and confrontational. She has little to no issue with calling other people out and she doesn't care who gets into her cross hairs.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: With Donny. He was the only person that Paola was particularly close with in the house.
  • It's All About Me: According to her, Paola was always a selfish and self centred person. However, when she befriends Donny in the house, he makes her want to change her selfish and self absorbed behavior.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Paola was bitchy but her heart was in the right place.
  • Little Miss Snarker: Paola is very sarcastic and snarky.
  • The Load: Paola has proven over and over that she was completely useless in the game. That was why she became the next to go after Joey.
  • Motor Mouth: Paola talked rather fast.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Paola is a model.
  • Odd Friendship: With Donny. Donny was the one person that Paola bonded with in the house.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: She is very bad at physical competitions. Lampshaded during the outbursts at the veto ceremony in Week 2 when Brittany flat out told her that she sucked at challenges. Pao's response was simply, "Yeah, I know."
  • Plucky Girl: Paola is very optimistic and happy go lucky by nature.
  • Ship Tease: With Cody earlier in the season.
  • Show Some Leg: Part of her strategy was showing off her assets.
  • Token Minority: Paola was the only Asian cast this season.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Was put up as a pawn because of her overall weak performances.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Paola was evicted the second week.

  • Agent Peacock: Gender-inverted, and subverted. She sees herself and Frankie as the "peacocks" of the season, since both of them have bright, dyed, and spiky short hair. However, Frankie is quite competent at playing the game strategically, but Joey is so lousy at making herself sound like convincing strategist. She fails to look even remotely sane because her ideas are so farfetched nobody can take them seriously, and none of her plans succeed. As for her eccentricities, she's got plenty.
  • Attention Whore: Joey was on the loud and obnoxious side.
  • Boyish Short Hair: Her hair being dyed blue makes her short hairstyle more noticeable. As do all the other colors she likes to turn it.
  • Brutal Honesty: Joey is very opinionated and says exactly what is on her mind.
  • Butt-Monkey: Because she was the first one to leave, it's become a Running Gag for the players to ask "Who's Joey?" or say that no one remembers her. She was also the first Have Not of the season, having basically volunteered for it... and this season, Have Nots sleep in a freezing cold bedroom with ice-themed beds.
  • Cassandra Truth: She tried to convince the girls to form an alliance to fight against the male Bomb Squad, asserting she knew the guys had some sort of alliance. She was ignored. The week after she left, the HoH competition was won by two members of the Bomb Squad, who proceeded to nominate four houseguests not in the alliance, three of which were women. The second Devin walked out of the house? The "Bomb Squad" pretty much reassembled... and went right after the women again. By Week 9, only two women (Christine and Victoria) remained in the competition, and Christine was a member of the Bomb Squad and Victoria was kept around because she was rightfully deemed too weak a player to be a threat to them. In short Joey's feelings that the game would become a boys' club were spot on, and if the girls had listened to her and formed their own alliance at some point, they could have tried to fight back instead of letting the men completely dominate the game since pretty much Week 1.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Joey is very wacky and unpredictable.
  • Crazy Enough to Work: Subverted; dressing up as a guy and trying to explain to people why you needed to stay in the game was too crazy to work. A little less shouting and some more tact and that might have actually worked (like Dan's funeral, which is a standout example of a harebrained scheme on the show). But facetiously bellowing the F-word at houseguests just makes you a loud noise they don't want to keep in the house!
  • Deadpan Snarker: Joey was very witty and humorous.
  • Digging Yourself Deeper: She was already in trouble, but Alex only made it worse by annoying fellow houseguests.
  • The Ditz: Joey didn't come off as smart or strategic. She basically did whatever she thought was clever, without realizing that all she was managing to do is convince the house she was from another planet.
  • Dramatic Irony: The loudest and most dramatic and unpredictable player was the first to go. The winner was the quietest and most level-headed and a silent operator who never became a target, not even once.
  • Drama Queen: Definitely liked to dramatize things at times.
  • Dye Hard: Joey loves fiddling with her hair color. Her most prominent one is blue, but she is a fan of just about anything loud and sassy.
  • Expressive Hair: Joey's hair is dyed blue. That is very bold. And that is just the color she chose for the short time she was on the show; had she been on it longer, chances are she might have changed it repeatedly. She returned to the show with pink hair, and her online videos show her featuring any number of colored hairstyles.
  • The Fashionista: Loves makeup and clothing. Heck, her YouTube account is vividly dedicated to it- Makeup Monster.
  • The Fool: Came off as highly wacky, unpredictable and clueless in the game, so much so that it made her an immediate target in the first week in the game.
  • Gender-Blender Name: To be fair, "Joe" or "Joey" can be a girl's name, it's just very uncommon. Lampshaded by her "transformation" into her manly alter ego "Alex".
  • Genki Girl: Joey is very outgoing and upbeat.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Joey seemed to love her alcohol.
  • Hot-Blooded: Joey seemed to be impulsive, loud and aggressive.
  • Hysterical Woman: Joey is very loud, crazy, wacky and unpredictable.
  • Joke Character: Joey was a character who was never taken seriously both In-Universe and outside of the game.
  • The Lad-ette: Joey seemed to be a little bit on the tomboyish side, despite being very feminine at the same time.
  • Lovable Alpha Bitch: Definitely loud but also likeable.
  • Mad Oracle: She managed to accurately predict that all the girls were going to become targets, yet acted so cuckoo that nobody even wanted to come near her and take her words at heart.
  • Motor Mouth: Joey never stops talking.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Joey is an attractive woman. And that whole striptease incident on the live feeds proved she was quite the exhibitionist.
  • No Indoor Voice: Joey only has two forms of speaking. Shouting and yelling.
  • Naked People Are Funny: As soon as the live feeds went up, she streaked for the camera.
  • Plucky Girl: Joey has a very positive, enthusiastic and upbeat attitude.
  • Refuge in Audacity: Joey is a self-professed ultra left-wing liberal who loves to be the center of attention and do basically whatever she pleases, no matter how crazy it looks to those who try to be ordinary.
  • Sanity Slippage: When she realized she was putting a huge target on her back once her all-girls alliance plan was shot down, Joey resorted to using her makeup to appear masculine and dressed like a guy, deeming this new persona "Alex". She tried to psych out the guys trying to get her voted out of the house, but only served to look ten times crazier than her normal self.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: Of course the silliest houseguest would manage to be out the door first.
  • Shorttank: Joey is a tomboy but is Ms. Fanservice at the same time.
  • Straw Feminist: Downplayed hard. Joey is a self described feminist but she isn't misandrist by any means and is capable of getting along with men. However, on a game level, Joey was highly passionate about getting all of the women together in an alliance so that they could end up eliminating all of the male houseguests and have all of the women make it to the jury house. Her views about wanting to get all the women together in an alliance and targeting all of the men, especially when a couple of the women (Amber and Christine) were in an alliance that had a majority of men, didn't sit well with nearly all of them. On a game level, Joey was taking the girl power thing a little too seriously, too hard, and too fast.
  • Tomboy: Joey is feminine but she definitely has strong shades of tomboyish qualities, especially in comparison to the other female houseguests.
  • Tomboyish Name: Her name is Joey but it is uncertain if it is just a shortened nickname for a more feminine name like Josephine. A little research proves her real name is Joanna, which is indeed very feminine.
  • Unexpected Character: Everybody was surprised that she was chosen as the first member of "Team America" instead of Frankie.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Joey was the first houseguest of the season and was evicted by a unanimous 13-0 vote. She had a 14-day stint in the house.
  • Wild Card: Joey was probably the most unpredictable houseguest.
