    Auri
The main girl of the mod. She starts off with a Crown Of Light and can unlock The Glowing Hour Glass as an active item. Both items are from the base game, but the latter gains a special trait exclusive to Auri: having a chance to slow all enemies in a room upon taking a hit, and automatically reversing time to revive her from a fatal hit — at the cost of breaking it.

Auri's Birthright effect prevents her Crown Of Light from getting disabled upon taking damage or not having full red health.

  • Comeback Mechanic: Downplayed. At random when hit, two things may happen: either Auri may get angry enough to spawn a shockwave to damage nearby foes while gaining a temporary damage boost, or the unique-to-her passive ability of her active item triggers to invoke a slowing effect on all enemies in the room. Getting hit is still ill-advised, as unless you have Birthright, keeping the Crown Of Light buff active should be prioritized over invoking this mechanic.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Auri is stated to be designed as easy for veterans, but hard for newcomers. Her Crown Of Light gives her an edge later into the run, but taking damage in a room or having empty red hearts negates the modifier to leave her with pitifully low base damage, requiring the player to be careful to get the most out of her. That's also not getting into her unlockable active item, The Glowing Hourglass, which can serve as a mistake rectifier.
  • Nerf: The 1.7.9b update that reworked The Glowing Hourglass inadvertently affected Auri. In particular, using up all three of the active item's uses will change it to function like the Hourglass, rendering the passive effects (time-reversal revive and the passive slow effect) inactive for the remainder of the floor.
  • Original Character: She existed a year or two prior to the mod as one of Iristeru's creation.
  • Rage Breaking Point: On occasion, if she sustains enough hits from enemies at random, she can become enraged — spawning a shockwave and gaining a damage buff.
  • Simple, yet Awesome: She's not as gimmicky as her other counterparts, just coming equipped with a Crown Of Light and The Glowing Hourglass; two powerful vanilla items that serve as a damage modifier and a solution to most problems respectively. Her only gimmicks are easily miss-able passive effects from The Glowing Hourglass.
  • Time Rewind Mechanic: Her active item The Glowing Hourglass, a vanilla item with the ability to reverse time to a previous room. Auri in particular also has a passive effect of this if she takes fatal damage — turning back time at the cost of breaking the hourglass, leaving it only functional part of the time.

    Dark Auri
Auri... but dark! Unlocked after clearing every check-mark with Auri, this dark incarnation tweaks with the Time Master gimmick of the former by having The Glowing Hourglass activate every time they take damage, reversing time to a previous room, at the cost of gaining a broken heart that'll limit her max health. She also comes equipped with a Dark Hourglass active, which disables the time reverse effect — and by extension, the broken heart effect — for one room per three charge.
  • Evil Doppelgänger: She's basically Auri given the Dark Link makeover; jet-black skin color with purple hair.
  • Hidden Eyes: Whenever she does her Item Get! animation, complete with a sinister grin.
  • Power Incontinence: Dark Auri is unable to use the Glowing Hour Glass of her normal counterpart, with the ability instead manifesting whenever she takes damage, at the cost of gaining a broken heart to lower her max health. Luckily for her, this can be downplayed with the Dark Glowing Hourglass active, preventing the effect from happening for the current room.

    Milcah

  • Cat Girl: The Halloween version of Milcah turns her into "Meowcah", complete with Guppy's Tail (pre-patch).
  • Comeback Mechanic: Her kit is based around keeping her health low enough to activate her Dark Prince's Crown item. If she's in critical condition, her other passive item Dying takes effect; boosting her damage and tear-rate along with making her tear effects random.
  • Crown of Power: As a direct counterpart to Auri, she's equipped with the Dark Prince's Crown, which activates with only one red heart filled, boosting her tear-rate and damage.
  • Glass Cannon: Because of her two passive items serving to buff her otherwise bad fire-rate, Milcah's required to have one full red heart container for the Dark Crown, or be at half a heart to trigger Dying. The former passive of which can be enabled by her active item Bloody Hourglass, removing one red heart at the cost of the room speeding up, while latter is just a risky alternative.

    Witch Of Endor/Mage Auri
She fires tear shots akin to The Wiz — that is, shooting diagonally both ways, unable to shoot straight forward. Though, to compensate, she also has a chance to shoot tears with homing properties based on her luck stat, which can be temporarily boosted for a floor via her book.
  • Balance Buff: Nov. 1st, 2022 update gave her tears a chance to have homing properties, to compensate for the unwieldy default tear shot.
  • Flying Broomstick: In the Halloween update, the Witch is given a broomstick to fly on.
  • Magic Wand: Her Spirit Sword is re-textured to appear like a witch wand.
  • Robe and Wizard Hat: Though not by default, she dons a light-purple robe and hat to sell the Cute Witch appearance.
  • Token Good Teammate: Aside from the main Auri (and to a lesser extent, Hang Girl), Witch Of Endor is an outlier among the more blatantly corrupt counterparts. Whereas the others are outright demonic worst-case scenarios, this Auri is just a Cute Witch.

    Hang Girl
Auri after taking her own life. She starts with only half a soul heart and has the slowest movement speed of any player character. She also comes equipped with several items: Transcendence, a noose that makes her fly over debris and chasms; Heartbreak, which lets her survive her lacking starting health at the cost of gaining broken hearts; her active item Old Rope, which either gives her The Hanged Man card effect (either the normal or reversed version; with it defaulting to reversed due to already having Transcendence) or damages her; and finally Depression, which is just a familiar that implies the circumstances of her fate...
  • Distaff Counterpart: To the Keeper. While there's a degree of separation with one of the two being... fresher, in terms of when they died, they're both corpses that hung themselves via noose, with Hang Girl's active item closing the gap further by giving her the reverse Hanged Man card effect; giving her triple shot tears with the ability to spawn coins from enemy kills, akin to both Keeper and his tainted counterpart.
  • Driven to Suicide: Auri hanged herself following her descent into depression. Her unlock requirements make this blatant: Obtain both Depression and Transcendence note  on any character.
  • Empty Eyes: Depicted with flat and dulled eyes, due to being a recently deceased corpse. May double as Dull Eyes of Unhappiness, considering her Depression...
  • Hanging Around: As the name itself suggests, Hang Girl is Auri after hanging herself with a noose.
  • Joke Character: Pitifully slow movement speed, plus an active that has a 33% chance to damage yourself, all compounded by her starting health of half a soul heart and the passive item Heartbreak that, while saving her from lethal damage, makes the run more difficult in the long run with max health reduction via broken hearts.

    Naamah
The other "Mother of All Demons" aside from Lilith. Unlocked after obtaining the Succubus item as Auri. She starts off seemingly normal and mostly human, but she can randomly change into a winged demon akin to Azazel, complete with short-ranged Brimstone. She also comes equipped with Seduce, an active item to charm all enemies, sometimes permanently.
  • The Beastmaster: Aside from her human/demon forms gimmick, this is the other half of her playstyle: Naamah can charm a room full of enemies with her Seduce active item, which also has the capabilities of being permanent on rare occasions. She can also randomly shoot a tear that'll aggressively home in on an enemy to charm them.
  • Bloody Murder: In her pure demon form, she has Azazel's short-ranged Brimstone attack, with the occasional longer-ranged Brimstone available every few rooms courtesy of Azazel's Rage.
  • Cute Monster Girl: Naamah's a succubus that can appear human-looking with just horns, or more demonic with her wings and dark skin, both forms of which are nonetheless cute-looking.
  • Destructive Romance: Going by the Flavor Text of their active item Seduce:
"I hurt them out of love."
  • Distaff Counterpart: While not by default, she randomly changes into a winged demon form with a short ranged Brimstone, effectively becoming a female Azazel.
  • Horned Humanoid: A succubus with prominent demon horns, one of which being Azazel's Rage.
  • Projectile Kiss: Naamah can on rare occasions, with the aid of her active item's passive effect, to shoot a heart "tear"; a tear projectile that homes in on enemies to damage and charm them.
  • Stance System: An RNG-based variant; she starts off with mostly normal default tears, but on occasion she effectively changes into Azazel after clearing a room, like she's got the Azazel's Stump trinket.
  • Succubi and Incubi: She's a demon who can charm her foes with her active item and (rarely occurring) heart tears. She's even unlocked if you obtain the Succubus familiar as Auri.

    Tainted Auri
Auri after going off the deep end. This character was previously available in the earlier versions of the mod, but has since been disabled from play; pending a rework.
  • Comeback Mechanic: Zig-Zagged. Upon depleting their health, Auri enters a frenzied state akin to Tainted Samson — swinging their knife like a club until the state ends by running out the timer, after which they'll either die or survive if they manage to get their health back. They'll also stay alive if they keep the state active via Kill Streak, but getting while in said state results in Auri gaining broken hearts.
  • Mechanically Unusual Class: Her damage stat cannot be modified under any circumstances, and any soul/evil hearts she collects disappears.
  • Sinister Silhouettes: Her appearance in the character select depicts her figure shrouded in darkness, with the only standout features being her eyes and the fact she's wielding a knife.

    Tarnished Auri
A Tarnished variation of Auri.

Currently unavailable, but having both mods enabled reveals her slot in the Tarnished roster.

  • Nothing Is Scarier: Her character select image is just a single knife embedded into the ground, with the girl mysteriously absent.
