The urban vigilantes that once changed society in stealing the hearts of corrupted adults. As young adults, they are thinking what they want to do in their lives. Then, they have make a come back four years later when Lost and Yokai appeared (and ruin the Summer Olympics of course) in Book I. And so, new urban adventures awaits for them in interacting with new companions, enemies, and more developments.
- Super Mode: In Ch. 18 of Akane no Mai (Book I)'s Fellowship Forged by Code, the Phantom Thieves are granted a divine power from Shin-Io that fused their Personas to become beings called Persona's Ascendancy.
- Took a Level in Badass: The start of Akane no Mai Book I has them already receive their fully evolved Personas for their new adventures. The end of Book I then has them gain the ability of Persona's Ascendancy.
The leader of the Phantom Thieves. His signature Persona is Raoul.
- Big Good: Being portrayed as this since he's the lead character from his home game. He's the one that give his monologue recap in Chapter I of Akane no Mai's Book I. Even more so since he defeated Yaldabaoth twice (The main version in Persona 5 and the alternate version with Datenshi in Akane no Mai Book I).
- Fighter, Mage, Thief: As part of the trio with Hifumi and Sion, Joker is obviously the Thief.
- The Leader: Of the urban vigilantes.
- Official Couple: He and Ann are paired up. At the end of Akane no Mai Book I, they are married.
The actress of the Phantom Thieves. Her signature Persona is Celestine.
- Official Couple: She and Ren are paired up. At the end of Akane no Mai Book I, they are married.
The chief strategist of the Phantom Thieves. Her signature Persona is Agnes.
- Official Couple: With Haru.
- The Resenter: Initially in Akane no Mai Book I, Makoto is distrustful of Sion's presence due to being a vampire and that her friends get along with him. After a pep talk from Ann and also reminded of the past situation in their high school years, Makoto warmed up to Sion.
The pilot of the Phantom Thieves. His signature Persona is Diego.
- Odd Friendship: With Mia Karnstein. Who would have thought it? A cat and a Revenant get along as friends.
The first attacker of the Phantom Thieves. His signature Persona is William.
- Expy: His Persona's Ascendancy form using an Electric Kamehameha and Kaio-ken. Are we talking about tributing Goku here?
- Official Couple: With Miyako.
The artist of the Phantom Thieves. His signature Persona is Gorokichi.
- Official Couple: With Futaba.
The genius hacker of the Phantom Thieves. Her signature Persona is Al Azif.
- Otaku: As always, being a huge otaku allows her to mention popular culture references in her dialogue, and meaning real-life references without restrictions unlike in Persona 5.
- Official Couple: With Yusuke.
The fair lady of the Phantom Thieves. Her signature Persona is Lucy.
- Official Couple: With Mako-chan.
The ex-member of the Phantom Thieves and was once the traitor that fought them in the past. His signature Persona is Hereward.
- Ascended Extra: This series shows him getting involve more with the Phantom Thieves since the end of Persona 5/Royal.
The other guest member of the Phantom Thieves and played a major role in Persona 5 Royal's third semester event. Her signature Persona is Ella.
- Ascended Extra: Just like Akechi, Sumire spends more time with the Phantom Thieves since she only appeared in Persona 5 Royal.
