The Digidestined
Takuya Kanbara
Voiced by: Twitchy Wings
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: He refers to the other Digidestined as supporting characters and has called himself a protagonist on multiple occasions.
- Jerkass: He always puts down his teammates and minimizes their accomplishments.
- Nerd Action Hero: He's the leader of the Digidestined, the Legendary Warrior of Flame, and a huge Brony.
- Pre-Mortem One-Liner: "By Celestia's glorious sun-clad flank, I smite thee!"
- Small Name, Big Ego: Takuya sees himself as being the protagonist of the whole universe.
Koji Minamoto
Voiced by: SBG Haseo
- Big Damn Heroes: Shows up during Zoe's fight with Woodmon and saves the day.
- Calling Your Attacks: Apart from the tradition of Digimon shouting their attack names, Koji yells different fighting game moves while fighting Pagumon.
- Light 'em Up: As Lobomon
- Nerd Action Hero: He imagines himself as an RPG hero.
- Pre-Mortem One-Liner: "Now perish, in the name of Gwynevere's holy rack!"
- Ship Tease: He denies that his reason for saving Zoe was him liking her.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: Most likely to drop an F-bomb or two out of the main cast.
Tomy Himi
Voiced by: Mushy (Episode 2 onward), Mr. Muk (Episode 1)
- An Ice Person: As Kumamon
- Beware the Nice Ones: "Every bully ever will be very, very sorry."
- Characterization Marches On: He starts as a whiny, paranoid crybaby and evolves into the voice of reason with an unhealthy attachment to Takuya.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Episode 1 played up his mental instability and crybaby tendencies.
Zoe "Fatone" Orimoto
Voiced by: Ditzy Doo
- A-Cup Angst: She takes great offense to people calling her breasts small, and the first thing she says after becoming Kazemon for the first time is utter astonishment that she's busty now.
- Dumb Blonde: She thinks that the Digital World is an amusement park, that Lobomon is a tiger, and believes that Mt. Fuji is in Hawaii.
- Fragile Speedster: As Kazemon. Emphasis on Fragile.
JP Shibayama
- Big Damn Heroes: Saves Takuya from Snimon and then proceeds to defeat him.
- Lightning Bruiser: Literally, as Beetlemon.
- The Friend Nobody Likes: All of the Digidestined insult him when given the chance.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Chocolate, to the point that he carries emergency chocolate with him.
Supporting cast
Bokomon and Neemon
Voiced by: Masahiko Ichirou (Bokomon), Zhiro (Neemon), SBG Haseo (Neemon, Episode 2 only)
- Cloud Cuckoolander: Neemon is this in spades.
- Hammerspace: Bokomon stores a massive book and an oversized coin purse in his waistband.
- Shorter Means Smarter: Bokomon is the shorter of the duo, and is more intelligent by far.
Ophanimon
Voiced by: Audrey Bolick
- Deadpan Snarker: As she gets to know (and loathe) the Digidestined, she starts pumping out sarcastic remarks.
- Fake Static: Uses this in Episode 3 to avoid talking to the Digidestined any longer than needed.
- Voice with an Internet Connection: She communicates with the Digidestined through their D-Tectors.
The Narrator
Voiced by: Wil Wizard
- Dangerous Workplace: When you can have the crap beaten out of you by the villains for questioning the script, you'd feel unsafe too.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: At the end of Episode 6 when he sees the "To be continued" caption.
The D-Tectors
Voiced by: Oatzmeal
- Machine Monotone
- Troll: Intentionally makes Takuya de-digivolve in Episode 2, and tricks JP into thinking he's finally found his Spirit in Episode 4.

Grottomon
Voiced by: SBG Haseo
- All Jews Are Cheapskates: He speaks with a stereotypical Yiddish accent, uses Yiddish insults, and is obsessed with cheap animation.
- Dishing Out Dirt: He's the Legendary Warrior of Earth, after all.
- Early-Bird Cameo: Shows up in Episode 5 to tell the Narrator that the story has just begun.
- Wakeup Call Boss: He's the first villain to give the Digidestined trouble, and the one who introduces them to Beast Spirits.
Arbormon
Voiced by: Masahiko Ichirou
- The Bully: Beats up the Narrator for questioning the script.
- Green Thumb: He's the Legendary Warrior of Wood.
Mercurymon
Voiced by: Captain D 38
- Extra-ore-dinary: The Legendary Warrior of Steel is a force to be reckoned with.
- The Mafia: Speaks and acts like a classic gangster.
Ranamon
Voiced by: Bumble Sweet, Mushy (Episode 3)
- Making a Splash: Naturally, as the Legendary Warrior of Water.
- Southern Belle: In her first appearance.

Pagumon and Raremon

- Evil Brit: Raremon speaks with a posh English accent.
- Fluffy the Terrible: They look soft and cuddly, but looks can be deceiving.
- Hillbilly Horrors: They're violent rednecks who want to eat the Digidestined.
Candlemon and Wizardmon
Voiced by: Twitchy Wings (Candlemon 1), SBG Haseo (Candlemon 2 and Candlemon Elder), Wil Wizard (Wizardmon)
- Rage Breaking Point: They're welcoming and willing to help the Digidestined until Takuya breaks out the candle puns.
Floramon
Voiced by: Twitchy Wings, Mushy (Brenda)
- Beware the Nice Ones: The Floramon convince the amnesiac Mushroomon that they're their servants as revenge for destroying their village.
- Cloud Cuckoolander: Brenda speaks in nothing but non sequiturs.
- The Ditz: Brenda.
- Noodle Incident: Visitors stopped coming to Breezy Village after an unexplained incident involving Gatomon and fire.
The Mushroomon Brothers and Woodmon
Voiced by: SBG Haseo, Twitchy Wings, Masahiko Ichirou
- Brainwashed and Crazy: They were corrupted by Cherubimon's power.
- Expy: Their voices and mannerisms are based on the Amoeba Boys from The Powerpuff Girls.
- Evil Sounds Deep: Woodmon.
Kokuwamon
Voiced by: Captain D 38
- Enfant Terrible: The baby loves death and destruction.
- Grumpy Old Man: The elder is prone to dishing out insults and gleefully declares that the Digidestined are doomed.
- N-Word Privileges: "Shock" is their word, you dirty racist sape!
- Vocal Dissonance: The baby has an unsettlingly deep voice.
Shell Numemon
Voiced by: Twitchy Wings, SBG Haseo, Miles Above, Tagyrt
- Damsel in Distress: The female Shell Numemon.
- Everything Sounds Sexier in French: Koji initially imagines the female Shell Numemon are sexy French girls because of their voices.
- Poor Communication Kills: The Shell Numemon believe that the Digidestined are working with Grottomon after JP announces that they're legendary warriors, and hold them hostage unless Grottomon returns their women.
