Main Characters

    In General

  • Adaptational Name Change: In the original Pasión de gavilanes, the brothers are the Reyes and the sisters are the Elizondo. Here the brothers are the Gallardo and the sisters the Del Junco. Their first names changed too. Interestingly, though, all the brothers have "Rey" as their middle name, seemingly as a Mythology Gag.
  • All Work vs. All Play: Arturo and Andrea (hard-working type) are all work vs Flavio and Irina (playful type) are all play.
  • Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: The Del Junco sisters with Fashionista Irina (Beauty). Brainy Brunette Sofia (Brains) and Gunslinger Andrea (Brawn).
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Well because the brothers fall in love with the Del Junco sisters despite their hate, we can say that. All of the couples have this in varying degrees at the beginning. The sisters show dislike at first but as time goes on, they fall in love. The biggest example is Samuel and Andrea because they were the most belligerent pairing.
  • Character Development: All of them have this throughout the show. Arturo became less revenge-focused as his love for Sofia grows , Sofia gains in confidence and bravery, Flavio became less money-obsessed and focuses more on important things, Irina gains in maturity, Samuel became less naive but more assertive and Andrea gains in humility and kindness.
  • Chromosome Casting: The Gallardo Brothers are the three male lead characters and the Del Junco sisters are the three female lead characters of the Telenovela.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: All the Del Junco sister butt heads with their mother over dating the Gallardo brothers, whom she hates.
  • Ensemble Cast: They're the six main characters of the telenovela despite the fact the story is more focus on the Arturo/Sofia couple.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: Flavio and Irina are sanguine, Andrea is choleric, Samuel and Sofia are melancholic and Arturo is phlegmatic.
  • Four-Philosophy Ensemble: Flavio is the Cynic, Irina is the Optimist, Sofia and Arturo are the Realist, Andrea is the Apathetic and Samuel is the Conflicted.
  • Freudian Trio:
    • In the Gallardo Brothers: hot-headed Flavio (Id), mediator Samuel (Ego) and reflexive Arturo (Superego).
    • In the Del Junco sisters: unpredictable Irina (Id), frail but rebellious Sofia (Ego) and refined Andrea (Superego).
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: The Gallardo brothers all prefer to talk with their fists.
  • The Hecate Sisters: Childish Irina is the maiden, caring Sofia is the mother and bitter Andrea is the crone.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: Sofia and Irina's Light to Andrea's Dark.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: Sofia is a Nice Girl, Andrea is an IceQueen (at first) and Irina is kind but can be aggressive due to her jealous nature. Then similarly but to a lesser extent, typical Nice Guy Samuel (nice), calculating and arrogant Flavio (mean) heroic but grumpy Arturo (in-between).
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: The three couples. Due to the romance between Alma (the Gallardo's sister) and Ignacio (the Del Junco's father) there was an enmity between the families which would cause heavy strain on the romance between the Gallardo brothers and the Del Junco sisters.
  • The Three Faces of Adam: Flavio is the hunter as the adventurous one, Samuel is the lord after his Rags to Riches transformation more significant than those of his brothers and Arturo is the prophet as the oldest one and typical Papa Bear for his relatives.
  • Unresolved Sexual Tension: As the BTS trope, all of the couples fall into this (well few of them more than other). Arturo and Sofia in particular.

  • The Smart Guy: Usually the one that comes up with the plans.
  • Unscrupulous Hero: Of the Gallardo brothers, he's the most willing to fight dirty and is the one that comes up with their revenge plan involving the Del Junco sisters.

    Samuel Rey Gallardo Leon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/samuel_rey_gallardo.jpg

  • Amazon Chaser: Not at first, finding Andrea quite masculine. But after she saved him, he enjoyed she defended him, finding her courageous. Moreover later he finds exciting to imagine her with a whip ready to defend him from his ex.

  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Samuel is not fond to see Patricia close of Ulises when he's dating her. But it's more prominent (even exaggerated) with Andrea when her English friend touches her. After this moment the "crazy" part is lampshaded by him and the "jealous" part by Andrea.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: He's amazed by Andrea's body in episode 102 and once again in episode 112.
  • Has a Type: Lampshaded by Patricia, Samuel prefers feminine women but ironically he ends with a Tomboy who had a Girliness Upgrade.
  • Hypocrite: He says to Beatriz he's faithful with women but he kissed Andrea three times when he dated Patricia (the second time is a drunk Andrea who kissed him but he doesn't stop her and even continues the kiss).
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: With Andrea during episode 113. She shoots on Nicholson then Samuel knocks him out.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: One of the main issues in his relationship with Patricia was him feeling uncomfortable with the way other men would lust after her whenever she performed. More than once he got into fights with other clients whenever they got too close to her, and this was doubled when it came to Patricia's relationship with Ulises'.
    • When he sees Andrea with other guys, Samuel can be definitely this. He always had a sarcastic smirk or looked away whenever he saw her being close to Horacio, making disparaging remarks about their relationship, commented that the guy she was dating in Paris was ugly and attacks her when she's acting all familiar with Emilio Valverde. Even after they became an Official Couple, he's shown to be very possessive. When Edward (the English guy) touches her, he becomes possessively jealous, saying Andrea is his. After that, he apologizes saying he's going to try to control himself.
  • Official Couple: With Andrea.
  • Nice Guy: He's considered as the nicest one out the Gallardo brothers.
  • Rags to Riches: Becomes rich when Beatriz dies and leaves her fortune to him.

    Irina Del Junco Belmonte
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/irina_del_junco.jpg
Played By: Kimberly Dos Ramos

  • All Women Are Lustful: Sofia and Andrea act suspicious with the Gallardo brothers at first, Irina is much more friendly simply because she finds them hot.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Is the youngest of the Del Junco sisters, and is seen as irresponsible dead weigh by Andrea, at least at first.
  • Black Sheep: She's the black sheep of the Del Junco family due to the scandals she gets involved that are in part caused by her adventurous personality.

  • Green-Eyed Monster: She was so jealous of Veronica which prompted her to act disdainfully against her and incredibly pissed and petty against Flavio.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: She likes going party hard at night and only comes back home in the morning with a hangover, much to her mother's fury.
  • Marriage of Convenience: What she offered Dario. She was willing to marry him so that they could both benefit from the union, her with a newfound freedom from her mom and him with the possibility to finally access his inheritance his aunt kept taunting him with.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Wears the most revealing or elaborate outfits of the sisters.
  • Official Couple: With Flavio.
  • Really Gets Around: Has this reputation and hooks up a lot with ranch employers. Which is why Flavio picks her as the target of his revenge plan.

  • The Tease: She's very flirtatious, even with the ranch workers.
  • The Unfavorite: Cayetana's least favorite daughter due to her rebel lifestyle.

    Andrea Del Junco Belmonte
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/andrea_del_junco_belmonte.jpg
Played By: Scarlet Gruber

  • The Ace: Andrea is the best of the ranch Del Junco in horse riding.
  • Action Girl: She's talented in marksmanship and shown to be the strongest and courageous of the sisters. The best example is in episode 113 when she saves Samuel from gun dealers.
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: In opposite with her original counterpart Sara considered by many In-Universe unattractive for a good part of the show, Andrea is considered In-Universe beautiful.
  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: She has long dark hair and is the most serious and cold of the sisters.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Samuel spending a lot of their time to arguing or fighting. It gets bad enough she starts having EroticDreams about him. Bitter, arrogant and agressive she was , she had this possibly with few mens as all Gallardo brothers.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Twice with Samuel. The first time is when Ulises with Murder the Hypotenuse tendencies tries to shoot on him; she prevents him from pulling the trigger in nick of time . The second time is during Samuel's rescue.
  • Broken Pedestal: Her mother becomes this for her over time, as Andrea can't swallow her increasingly arbitrary cruelties.
  • Cowgirl: The only one of the Del Junco sisters who acts like one.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: At the start of the story she's serious and stern and even a bit of a Jerkass at times, but warms up to people over time.
  • Determinator: She's very brave and courageous, a trait which Flavio and Samuel lampshade.
  • The Dreaded: Due to her personality, people as Samuel (lampshaded by Irina) are afraid by her. Irina and Flavio too when they see her in the hospital's cafeteria where they were trying to meet secretly.
  • Dude Magnet: Andrea seems to attract several men: Samuel, Horacio, Flavio, Nicholson, a guy who try to abuse of her and a guy which she dated in Paris.
  • The Dutiful Daughter: She's the closest of the sisters to their mother and is more serious and dedicated to the ranch, much like her.
  • Femme Fatale: Played this role twice. The first time, during episode 26, she wore an elegant black dress and had a cold behavior. The second time is in episode 105, she wore a short red dress. Leonardo lampshaded the trope.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: She becomes very jealous and quite angry when Samuel is involved with someone. She is shown to be envious when he's married to Beatriz. After they become an Official Couple, she's shown to be a bit jealous of Patricia. But she finally gets out of this after few episodes (mostly because Patricia and her trade places)
  • The Gunslinger: She shoots down on targets like cans or Nicholson's gun easily.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: With Samuel in episode 113. She shoots on Nicholson to disarm him then Samuel knocks him out.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Thinks the world of both Cayetana and Leonardo at first.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: She's very skilled in marksmanship and demonstrates that often.
  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: In episode 113, she attacked two criminals in an elegant blue dress.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: In comparison with all of Gallardo brothers, she's this because they prefer to talk with their punches and dislike guns (wielding them for intimidating enemies but never use them). Andrea is more pragmatic to use them.
  • Number Two: For Cayetana during the early portions of the show, until she falls out of favor.
  • Official Couple: With Samuel.
  • One of the Boys: How she's seen by a lot of the ranch workers.
  • Rich Bitch: The closest to this of the three sisters, as part of the reason she refuses to admit her feelings for Samuel is that she looks down on him being a peon. She drops this attitude after some Character Development.
  • Technical Pacifist: She won't kill people but that doesn't mean she couldn't hurt or shoot on them.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: While she does look feminine enough, her personality and hobbies are very masculine.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Or rather a violently protective future girlfriend. During Samuel's rescue, she knocked out Malchovitch and disarmed Nicholson shooting on him before to release him.

The Del Junco Household

    Cayetana Belmonte Del Junco
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cayetana_belmonte_del_junco.jpg
Played By: Sonya Smith

  • Action Mom: Subverted because she haves often seen wielding a gun or other long-range weapon but she actually never used it. Due to this fact, she falls in Faux Action Girl status.
  • Action Survivor: Especially in the finale, she managed to stay in life against Isadora and Leonardo's violence.
  • Abusive Parents: She can be both emotionally and physically abusive to her daughters.
  • Awful Wedded Life: Her marriage with Ignacio left both very unhappy, which is why he sought a mistress in Alma. She's more angry about being humiliated by him cheating than the fact he didn't want her.
    • She thought her marriage with Leonardo would be an upgrade and better than her marriage to Ignacio, but Leonardo being Leonardo proves to be a nightmare and hell on earth for her.
  • Bad Boss: Zigzagged. She can be strict and overbearing, but more often than not she shows care for her workers that is reciprocated, except in the case of Soledad, which is a far more complex situation. However, in most occasions, is her pride and Leonardo's instigations that pushes her to treat people that are lower in status in a bad manner.
  • My Beloved Smother: She's very controlling of her daughters and is especially furious once they decide to romance the Gallardo brothers.
  • Cattle Baron: One of the biggest landowners in the region.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Was jealous of Candela's closeness to Leonardo at one point and, in general, of any woman that gets too close to him, which more often than not is a result of Leonardo seducing them not the other way around as he likes to say.
    • Made disparaging comments about Nestor's relationship with Brigitte and she treats her in an even colder manner when she realizes they're together. She tries to plays it off, saying that Nestor deserves someone better but many see right past it and understand it to mean that Cayetana is implying that she's better for him.

  • Hypocrite: Berates Sofia on cheating on Leonardo, when she herself is sleeping with him.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Wholeheartedly believes that Leonardo is the best man in existence, even though so many signs indicated otherwise.
  • Ice Queen: She's usually a cold, calculating woman... unless you piss her off.
    • Defrosting the Ice Queen: It took a while but her grandson and Nestor were key in getting Cayetana to show a softer side and have her question if her hatred for the Gallardos was worth it.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After spending most of the story trying to control her daughters and being overly confrontational against the Gallardo brothers, who she accused of being gold-diggers intent on destroying her family and ranch, she ends up marrying the worst man in existence who actually was trying all along to get his hands on her fortune and that didn't hesitate in trying to kill her and her family.
  • Love Makes You Dumb: Her attraction for Leonardo and his taking advantage of her bitterness regarding her husband Ignacio, prompts her to cling to Leonardo and do everything in her power to keep him by her side even if that alienates her family and isolates her.
  • Mama Bear: Don't hurt her daughters, she would do everything in her power to destroy you.
  • Parental Favoritism: Andrea is the apple of her eyes. This is why is such a blow for her when she finds out that Andrea is in love and in a relationship with Samuel.
  • Third Time's The Charm: Her first marriage was bad, her second was basically hell on earth, but the end shows that she marries Nestor and that their relationship is a happier and healthier one.

  • Silk Hiding Steel: She acts as a Proper Lady but her rage can be quite destructive.
  • Woman Scorned: After her husband cheats on her with Alma, she swears Revenge on the Gallardo family.

    Leonardo Montalvo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leonardo_montalvo.jpg
Played By: Fabian Rios

  • Awful Wedded Life: He is very sexually frustrated in his marriage with Sofia since she won't let him touch her. He has the opposite problem in his marriage to Cayetana, finding her too clingy.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Shares the spot of the main antagonist of the story with the Valverde, as they're both trying to steal the Del Junco fortune.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Pretends to be an ally and a gentleman to the Del Junco family, but it's actually working against them and is a man of very bad character.
  • The Casanova: He's very good at seducing women.
  • The Chessmaster: A good one, Leonardo is easily the schemer of most dramas of the Telenovela.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Leonardo shown to fight uniquely for win. During his hand-to-hand fight with Arturo in episode 49 , he striked him with a tree branch when his back was turned.
  • Frame-Up: He pins the blame on the money he's been stealing from the ranch on Ignacio, making it look like he was going to run away with Alma and leave his family penniless.
  • Gold Digger: Married into the Del Junco family in order to take over their ranch. When his marriage to Sofia falls apart, he seduces Cayetana instead.
  • Hate Sink: There's nothing likable about Leonardo's character.
  • Manipulative Bastard: He manipulates the entire Del Junco family so he can steal their fortunes, especially Cayetana.
  • Marital Rape License: Tries to force himself on Sofia when she refuses to perform her wifely duties.

    Ignacio del Junco
Played By: Ricardo Chávez

  • Awful Wedded Life: He truly did care for Cayetana, but her pride and aloofness got to be too much for Ignacio and was ready to divorce her once and for all.
  • Papa Wolf: Protective of his children, he would do everything in his power to make sure they're ok. This was especially obvious in the case of Sofía, who he wanted to free from her marriage with Leonardo.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Only appears in the first episode, however, the repercussions of his decisions and death would be present throughout the series.

    Don Felipe Belmonte
Played By: Joaquin Garrido

  • Odd Friendship: With Candela Ríos. His daughter disapproves completely of their friendship but that doesn't stop Candela from sneaking in to visit and talk to him or invite him to the bar as part of his birthday celebration.

    Soledad Flores
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/soledad_flores.jpg

  • One-Night-Stand Pregnancy: As stated above, she had a drunken fling with inspector Cabrera, and to her surprise she ends up pregnant by him, which leaves her in the awkward position of having to tell Pablo the entire truth of her miscarriage which she had hid as a way to tie him to her.
  • Shipper on Deck: Not as invested as Nieves, but she also roots and in occasion helps the Gallardo brothers to meet with the Del Junco sisters and even updates them through phone calls with Soledad.

    Nieves
Played By: Virginia Loreto

  • The Ditz: She sometimes is a bit of an airhead and is clumsy, but everyone in the ranch cares for her.
  • Innocently Insensitive: She sometimes has no filter and in occasion says some hurtful stuff even though her intention is to give someone reassurance.
  • Shipper on Deck: Although she roots for all the romance between the Gallardo brothers and the Del Junco sisters, she's most invested in Samuel and Andrea's love story. Nieves is actually one of the first people in find out that Andrea is in love with Samuel, and she either celebrates every small breakthrough or is saddened whenever she sees that Andrea is heartbroken.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Does this twice to Rocío. The first time when she realizes that it was Rocío that called Miranda Saldívar and told her to hurry to the Del Junco Ranch to find Verónica in Pablo's bed. The second time is when she finds out that Rocío has not told Pablo that she had a miscarriage and lost their baby, pretending to still be pregnant to prevent Pablo from returning with Verónica.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alma_gallardo.jpg

  • Humiliation Conga: Suffers one in the hands of Cayetana when she goes to Ignacio's funeral.
  • May–December Romance: Is in love with Ignacio Del Junco, who's much older than her.

    Pablo Martínez
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pablo_martinez.jpg
Played By: Gabriel Rossi

  • Big Brother Instinct: Is always ready to defend and protect the Del Junco sisters, sometimes even threatening the Gallardo brothers when he deemed it necessary.
  • Composite Character: He is a mix of the characters of Olegario, the Elizondo's ranch manager, and Antonio, Ruth's boyfriend, from Pasión de Gavilanes. This makes the romantic conflict between Quintina and Dominga over Olegario in PDG to switch over to Verónica and Rocío.
  • Like Brother and Sister: While Irina flirted outrageously in the beginning with him, he never reciprocates and makes it clear on several occasions that he views the Del Junco sisters as if they were his precious siblings.

The Alcazar Ranch

    Beatriz Alcazar
Played By: Diana Quijano

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: The previous incarnations of the characters were much less... refined. While the actresses playing the part were in no way unattractive, this character was created to be a hysteric, rather elderly woman that was trying to cling to her past prime and using her money to pressure her most recent obsession into marrying her. In this adaptation, she's stated as attractive and desirable right off the bat and her personality is softened, making her also more likable to the rest of the ensemble.
  • Big Good: Her role in this adaptation is expanded and she becomes a stalwart benefactor and protector of the Gallardo brothers and their loved ones.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: Not long after returning from her honeymoon with Samuel, her health deteriorates rapidly and is not long before she realizes her times is almost up. She asks Samuel to hold her while they rest in her favorite part of the garden, declares her love for him one final time and encourages him to not forsake love, stating that his one true love is closer than he thinks. She then smiles at both him and his brothers and closes her eyes for the last time.
  • Foil: To Cayetana. While both are powerful and attractive businesswomen, their approach to life and others is vastly different. While Cayetana lets her pride and status dictate the way she interacts with others, Beatriz is much more easygoing and respectful of others no matter their status. Cayetana is also really uptight and expects her family and staff to always act with decorum and elegantly to the point she doesn't really allows herself to enjoy happy occasions unless they're done in a grand dignified manner, attitude that ultimately pushed her husband Ignacio away, while Beatriz, seeing that her illness is slowly but steadily advancing, tries to enjoy life as it comes and looks for enjoyment and merriment in all the moments.
    • To Patricia. They're in love with Samuel, but Beatriz had the most healthy of relationships with him in the beginning, pursuing him but never forcing him and showing that she genuinely wanted to not only help him but also helped protect his loved ones without expecting much in return. In contrast, his relationship with Patricia became more of an obsession and they couldn't find a middle ground when it came to their wants and needs, and were both distrustful of the people around their partner, leading to a lot of jealousy induced fights. Patricia, ultimately, chose to be with Ulises because, aside from her attraction to him, he offered riches and opportunities that Samuel wasn't able to. Beatriz, was the one with money in the relationship, but she never used her power to force him into anything and got along amazingly with his brothers, something Patricia was never able to.
  • May–December Romance: She falls in love with Samuel Gallardo almost immediately after meeting him. Later on, they will marry and, while he wasn't as in love with her as she was with him, he did his best to show care and affection for her, fully intent in putting effort in making the marriage work.
  • Incurable Cough of Death: Not long after her introduction, it's through a cough that the audience realizes that she's suffering from a disease that after some time takes her life.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: While she likes dating and has had several boytoys, ultimately she wants a steady partner that will love her for more than her fortune, who will respect her and in who she can trust enough to let him know about her disease without fear of him just being with her out of pity.
  • Shipper on Deck: She realizes that Andrea is head over heels in love with Samuel and, although that didn't stop Beatriz from marrying him, she not so subtly tries to nudge Samuel to notice Andrea more and imply in several occasions that she's the one that will bring him ultimate happiness.

The Palenque Bar

    Patricia Rubio

Played By: Daniela Navarro

  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Subverted, she uses a lot of makeup to hide the abuse she suffers.
  • Betty and Veronica: At first she was the Betty (passionate, sociable, relatively kind) to Andrea's Veronica (aloof, rich, cold beauty) but as the show progresses, she becomes the Veronica (more vain,money-hungry) for Samuel's Archie to Andrea's Betty (kinder and nicer after Character Development). She's also the Archie with Samuel as her Betty and Ulises as her Veronica.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Fits the trope perfectly because she always verifies if something happens to Samuel (the fact became a running gag) when they are together and shown extreme jealousy towards Andrea and Beatriz (especially the former). And to Ulises too when he was fakely engaged with Candela.
  • The Diva: She's the main singer and attraction in the El Palenque night club.
  • Fatal Flaw: Her vanity ultimately prevents her from being with Samuel, as he can't provide the luxurious lifestyle she wants.
  • Gold Digger: Ultimately chooses Ulises and his money over love with Samuel, which she comes to regret. Ironically, Samuel becomes rich shortly after she leaves him, which is partly the reason she tries to seduce him back.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: She's extremely jealous when Candela became the new star of Palenque and when Andrea (or Beatriz) seems close to Samuel. When she fits this, she's is very bitchy.
  • Hypocrite : Accuses Samuel of cheating on her frequently but she cheated on him with Ulises.
  • Love Interest: For Samuel in the early parts of the story.
  • Lust Object: For many men including Samuel, Emilio and Ulises.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: Zig-zagged; Due to the ambiguous situations between Samuel and Andrea, her jealousy driven her to think he's cheating on her but when he actually cheats on her kissing Andrea it's quite justified.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Not only does she wear many revealing outfits during her performances, she's also often seen in her underwear or less in her scenes in the backstage.
  • Proud Beauty: She's a vain woman and very proud of her good looks.
  • Sexual Extortion: Is forced to sleep with her bosses as part of her job at the night club.
  • Sex Goddess: Part of the reason Ulises is so taken with her and she's popular in El Palenque is that she's a fantastic lover. She taunts Andrea about it later, claiming Samuel will never forget about bedding her but Andrea tells her there's more to love than sex.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: She's attracted to Samuel due him being one of the few good men in her life. Downplayed as she eventually picks Ulises and his money over him, but comes to regret it.
  • Stripperiffic: The Cowgirl outfits she wears during her performance show a lot of skin, usually her midriff.
  • The Tease: During her performances, she usually steps down into the audience and acts flirtatiously to her customers.
  • Unrequited Love Switcheroo: Used to being pursued relentlessly by Samuel. Later in the story, she's the one that pursues him.

Played By: Ricardo Kleinbaum

    Candela Ríos
Played By: Kary Musa

  • Composite Character: She's a combination of Panchita and Pepita from Pasión de Gavilanes. She's Patricia's best friend and assistant at the beginning, but once Patricia leaves, Ulises has her become the new singer of the bar and then pretends to pursue her, an act that Candela and Roger go along with, to make Patricia doubly jealous. This all parallels the one sided rivalry that Rosario had with Pepita throughout PDG but, unlike PDG, Patricia and Candela are also close friends that protect each other just like Rosario and Panchita.
  • Odd Friendship: With Don Felipe. He reminds her of her beloved father, who was also in a wheelchair. She cares greatly for him and is always trying to find ways to contact him, much to Cayetana's displeasure.
  • Only Sane Man: In general, but especially in the Palenque crew, she's the one offering the most sensible of advices and even acts as mediator.
  • Shrinking Violet: At the beginning, she's shy and hides behind her duties as an assistant of Patricia, trying to avoid getting too much attention on herself. However, as part of Ulises' plans, she's thrust into the limelight and with guidance from professionals, she's able to gain more confidence in herself and feel comfortable as a singer and artist, turning her into one of the most well known performers in Houston.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/emilio_valverde.jpg
Played By: Omar Germenos

  • Action Dad: Subverted because Isadora isn't his daughter but he's proficient with guns as an arms dealer.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Yes, a villain becoming more evil between adaptations. While Emilio's analogue in Pasión de gavilanes, Armando Navarro, was also a gun trafficker and did pretty despicable things with regards of Rosario (the Patricia analogue there), he had his lighter moments where he could come up as a No-Respect Guy or even a Butt-Monkey, and didn't have as much of the repulsive views of Emilio. (Armando actually showed a lot of Villain Cred for Dínora, the Pasión de gavilanes equivalent of Isadora, and didn't foce the girls who worked on his nightclub to sleep with him.)
  • Arms Dealer: His nightclub is merely a front for his gun trafficking business.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Works together with Leonardo to embezzle the Del Junco's family.
  • The Don: He's the head of the Valverde family and all their illegal operations.
  • He-Man Woman Hater: He's very misogynistic and doesn't think women as anything but sex objects. To his distaste, his only child and heir is a woman.
  • If I Can't Have You…: When it comes to women he's interested in, he wants them all to himself and whenever one rejects him, he does everything in his power to make them suffer. He was obsessed with Julia Montenegro, Isadora's mother, and as revenge for her rejection, he had her husband killed, stole their newborn baby and imprisoned Julia in a psychiatric institution.
  • The Starscream: Prior to the beginning of the story, he worked closely with the Montenegro, but he had the husband killed, the wife imprisoned and stole their baby as well as took over their company.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: His go-to.
  • Sexual Extortion: Forces the girls who work on his nightclub to sleep with him.
  • Wicked Cultured: Like's to see himself as a gentleman, besides being rotten on the inside.

    Malkovich
Played By: Orlando Miguel

  • Affably Evil: They're both actually quite mellow when threatening others, but Malkovich is on a higher degree than Nicholson.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Nicholson's red. He tends to be less rash and abrasive than his partner.
    • Can also apply with his dynamic with Isadora, being able to get her to stand down a lot of the times.
  • The Starscream: Goes along Isadora's plan of getting rid of her father, his boss, Emilio Valverde.
  • Those Two Guys: With Nicholson. They're always seen together every time they appear and even when people mention them, they say both their names.

    Nicholson
Played By: Fernando Pacanins

  • Affably Evil: Along with Malkovich, they can actually be quite pleasant when threatening others.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Malkovich's blue. He's more quick to get angry and being impulsive.
  • The Starscream: He has worked several years for Valverde, but he changes alliances and joins Isadora in getting rid of him.
  • Those Two Guys: With Malkovich.

  • Friend on the Force: He's an old friend of the Gallardo family and investigates Alma's death on their behalf.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: He always antagonized with Leonardo, but this got exacerbated when he realized that Leonardo was pursuing Cayetana, and aside from Nestor suspecting Leonardo's intentions, it didn't help that he himself had realized he had romantic feelings for Cayetana.
  • Married to the Job: He's divorced and was completely devoted to his job, until he started a relationship with the journalist, Brigitte Losada, which... didn't end well. This event prompted him to once again throw himself into his work until he started getting closer to Cayetana Belmonte.
  • My Greatest Failure: He considers himself responsible for the death of Jose Antonio Gallardo and his wife, because he couldn't catch the arms dealer that was threatening his friend.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He's the local police captain, and is willing to believe the Gallardo brothers suspicion on Alma's death not being a suicide.
  • Slap-Slap-Kiss: His interactions with Cayetana at the beginning were marked at first with them verbally fighting every time they saw each other, with some pointing out how they seemed to enjoy their fights.
